Thanksgiving is just days away, Sisters! Since this particular holiday, like no other on our annual calendar, centers almost entirely around a meal, it brings a whole passel of us to the kitchen. So, your friends here at Living Proof thought we would have some fun with you by wrapping up a few fabulous items for the family feast.
We have prepared two identical baskets, enabling us to do a random drawing of TWO WINNERS among the commenters to this post. That’s all you have to do to enter. Just leave one comment and on Thursday morning, we’ll close the comments and draw our two winners and announce their names at the top of this post.
The goodies from these baskets contain items from the two largest kitchen stores in Houston: Williams-Sonoma and Sur la Table. When it comes to cooking, it doesn’t get better than that. [You will see each item in a separate picture so you can get a good look at them.] I so hope the baskets end up in the hands of a couple of women who could really stand to feel a little extra-special right now or perhaps are on such a tight budget that these items would feel like a fantastic splurge. I’m looking today for entries of some women who’d slap the table with joy over ending up with these. You are all so loved and esteemed here at Living Proof and you are valuable beyond price or description to the Kingdom of Christ.

Thanksgiving is hands down my favorite holiday so I would not only slap the table with joy, I might do a happy dance as well! The holidays area going to look a little different for us this year, but God constantly reminds me that He showers us with grace, and I am most grateful for that.

oooh, what fun! We don’t have a Sur la Table here but we do have Williams Sonoma. I love to just walk around and look at the “treasures” in there! I had to laugh at your description of the winner’s excitement–slapping the table–my two year-old is doing that right now when she wants to get attention at dinner time and we’ve been trying to show her other ways. I’d love to see the expression on her face if her mama slapped the table for once!! Happy Thanksgiving Beth!

God and the Angels have been working overtime in this house. and since Thanksgiving is totally about the meal it brings up a lot of issues in this family. But this year I think God will touch our lives in a NEW WAY. We have had many changes in the past year and I am hoping for a NEW BEGINNING with this Thanksgiving. I know a woman who could use one of these baskets. She has been drug free for over a year now. She has a rewarding job working at a place that helps people who have little or nothing. Fun – I’m in!
Thanksgiving means so much every year regardless. However, this year it comes on the heels of something that makes it even more precious. I am the mom to 5 precious humans. This past Sunday my two girls and I were involved in a wreck that God had His hands all over. It could have gone oh so many ways, but praise His name we all were able to walk away with minor scrapes, bruises, and soreness. The driver of the other vehicle walked away with a bruise on his hand. I keep replaying the wreck in my mind and see it with all the “what if” possibilities. I am just so thankful that the Lord said “No” to those possibilities. Now my mind toys with all the “what ifs” of the insurance aftermath of any wreck. I trust that the One who is faithful will take care of that as well. This Thanksgiving we may not be able to get a turkey and all the trimmings, but our table will still be full. 🙂 I know that no one may read this since the drawing will be random and computer generated, but it feels so good to put my thoughts out where I can read them for myself.
