Ladies! I think a Friday afternoon deserves a celebration. We’ve almost made it through the entire work week! Woo hoo! We can see the light at the end of the tunnel. DEAR SIESTAS! THE MERE THOUGHT OF YOU IS MAKING ME GO ALL-CAPSY.
It has been FOREVER and then some but I have been thinking about you. I know I haven’t been in this here blog-space much recently but I can assure you that I’m still at LPM. My days are full since I’m working and going to school part-time. AGAIN. Yes, again. Somehow even when I vow to walk away for good, I end up right back in the classroom in some capacity. This time around I’m working slowly on a M.A. in Biblical Languages at Houston Baptist University. When I’m not researching something for a project at LPM, I’m taking a Greek class in the Septuagint and a Hebrew readings class in the Joseph narrative. Oh, and how could I forget to mention Winston Jeffrey Fitzpatrick?! A little over a year ago Colin brought home a baby rottweiler and our life has never been the same since (even when I desperately want it to be!). Winnie is SO, SO bad but we love him madly.
Here is W posing in my dining room. Or demanding a filet mignon cooked over medium, I’m not really sure.
Here he is again furious about having to wear his birthday hat:
But really, enough about us.
I want to talk about YOU and a fall giveaway we are doing because we love you and appreciate you.
Now, I should mention at this point that if you are one of those people who is SO OVER all the talk about pumpkin-flavored anything, then you will want to run for your life.
RUN FOR YOUR LIFE.
Do I have a faithful fall remnant?
This weekend we had our first legit “cold-front” here in Houston. It was even down in the forties one night. Glory be! The crisp cold air in my lungs got to me in the best way possible and, of all things, I wanted to cook. There’s just something about fall that always brings me back to the kitchen. Nothing better than listening to a little Norah Jones or The Civil Wars with the windows cracked open, cool breeze dancing through the house, while a chili or stew simmers on the stove. I thought just maybe fall might do the same for some of you so the grand prize winner will get a redΒ Le Creuset signature round dutch oven (red not orange like the one on the box).
I love it passionately and do not want to let it go. I even enjoy posing with the beloved dutch oven:
The second prize to be claimed is a $100 gift card to Pottery Barn because, let’s be honest, Pottery Barn during the fall season is heaven on earth:
Gift number 3 includes an amazing decorative pillow, fall flower arrangement, and Hill Country Home candle.
Gift number 4 includes a fun little clutch from Anthro, a scarf, several pairs of boot socks, and some gorgeous MAC makeup in fallish colors.
Here is Lindsee modeling the scarf. Love her and she can work a scarf better than anyone I know:
This MAC stuff is tough to photograph but fantastic (includes three eye shadow kits and two lipsticks in shades of Russian Red and Viva Glam III).
Gift number 5 has a bunch of fun stuff: Cook’s Illustrated Fall Entertaining magazine, kitchen towels, mulling spices, Hill Country Home candle (again this is one of my faves!), autumn cupcake decorating set, beautiful engraved silver dish, Trader Joe’s Pumpkin bread mix, and more.
Gift number 6 comes with a fun autumn welcome mat, potpourri, decorative kitchen towel, and my favorite ever mulled apple cider candle. DIVINE.
Here is Mom sorting out all the gifts. Isn’t she cute?
So dear friend, for a chance to win one of the six prizes, please leave a comment with your first and last name and tell us something you love about fall.
We love you so much,
Melissa

What I LOVE about fall is our newborn son, Judson Michael!
My favorite thing about fall is watching all of the leaves change colors. It is truly a beautiful thing! Also, I just got married this fall so that makes it memorable and something I love as well! :o)
I love…consuming every single pumpkin baked good in sight π
I love fall because that’s when our ladies Bible study starts up again after taking the summer off!
Love this time of year, the heart-warmth of beatitude season; family conviviality traditions and all the cute things… Of coarse-pumpkin spice lattes, cozy sweaters, boots, smokey-eye makeup and firelight, candle scents & cool crisp in the air, my favorite part of it {healthy dose solitude} cuddling up with minky throw blanket with my sweet jack russell-doxie at the end of the day !
I love football, cool weather, and crunchy colorful leaves
We live in Florida, and I love going up to the Georgia mountains. The beautiful colors and the crisp cool air and definitely cannot forget pumpkin everything!

I love the crisp air and the smell of fall. It has a different aroma in the air. I love all of the splendor and colors of fall. When I was in elementary school, we used to get stickers on our papers if we had a good grade. I always loved the ones in the fall with the deep colors of leaves and trees. I have always been drawn to these colors. My birthday is in October, and every year I request the family to drive to a little town near us that has a beautiful drive thru tree lined streets and river bend to get there. I just love fall!
Lori Brans….I love everything about autumn! Cooler weather, changing leaves (ESP. Those up north), cooking soups gumbos and stews (which it is usually too hot for here in Houston), and Thanksgiving …I love to see/hear so many people talking about what they are thankful for! Also….it means winter is just around the corner (Houston style…not too cold), Christmas and Beth’s Bible study will start up soooon! Woohoo! Come on Autumn!
I LOVE the spectacular fall trees way up here in New Hampshire. I LOVE pumpkin pancakes, pumpkin cookies and pumpkin pie! Anything pumpkin. grin. I LOVE to add vintage chandelier crystals to my Jack O’lanterns too. Thank you for this chance to win and God bless.
xo.

Picking apples from the tree and baking fresh apple desserts! Cool, crisp weather! Home made soup! The list goes on and on.
I love fall because it was in the fall when, at age eighteen I gave my life to Jesus and He delivered me from a life-time of fears
What awesome fall prize packs π I love, love, LOVE cooler temps, opening up the house to fresh air, the crispness, the colors as the leaves change, chili, Thanksgiving, oatmeal butterscotch cookies (anytime, but it seems like a fall flavor to me)……. I JUST LOVE FALL π

I love all the fall colors in nature, and blessed to live in an area full of scenic beauty and mountains!!
I love the crisp fall air, leaves turning pretty colors, wearing cozy sweaters, apple cider, country fairs and comfort foods. These are just some of the things I love about fall.
I absolutely LOVE the colors – God paints in the most beautiful shades in the Fall! And the crispness of the weather – not too cold, but just right to call our attention to His creation! Some great flavored coffees or hot chocolate, and roasting hot dogs and marshmallows over the fire pit are great times for families!
Your Winnie just looks like the most precious baby!! Not spoiled at all, right?!
Blessings to you all!
Kelley
I LOVE FALL because it gives me the awesome opportunity to watch my two little boys and my big handsome hubby jump into a pile of orange hued leaves <3
My name is Brenda and I love fall because of the promise of winters coming, yes I love winter. I love the deep colors we associate with fall, the turning of the leaves, and THANKSGIVING!
I love fall because it reminds me of all the things that I have to be grateful for as I prepare for Thanksgiving!
I love the beautiful red, orange and yellow leaves on the trees!
I LOVE pumpkin! Lattes, shakes, pie, candles, whatever! I also love that day when you realize it is time to put the heavy comforter on the bed π
Pumpkin Spice Latte’s!! A fire in the fireplace.
I love the cooler weather and football!
I LOVE the cooler weather and walks in the leaves!
My name is Angel Voggenreiter and I live outside of Washington DC…I love it when you can start to feel the cool crisp air and the leaves start changing! I also love all those fall candles. I keep one burning at all times. The house just smells like fall!
I love finally being able to open the windows! Fall in south florida can be down right HOT but we finally have a little cool weather- if you call highs in the 70s cool- but we do!
I love fall because of God’s handy work is at its prettiest!! I love fall because i always start a new bible study!
Love the colors of fall. Love playing in the leaves w my girls.
I love the leaves and all their brilliant colors! I love wearing my cowboy boots!! And coffe is just better on a cold morning. I could go on and on……
My favorite things about fall? So many things! Coffee on the back porch, cooler weather, pumpkin chocolate chip cookies, farmhouse apple bread, fat pumpkins on the front walk, hot apple cider, jeans with boots and sweaters… Oh, my! Favorite time of year!
There are four things I equally love about fall: football, sweaters, crisp air, and baking everything imagineable that includes pumpkin!
I love everything pumpkin and football games!
Oh my goodness I love the colors of fall the smells and the crispness in the air. I especially love the orange harvest moon when it first appears coming up over the mountain behind my home. it looks like it is way bigger than the whole earth, then when it gets up in the sky it gets small again. I also love fall because that is when my husband and I got married 35 years ago!
God Bless you all for all the work you do for us. God is so good to share you with us.
the change in the seasons…….
My favorite thing about fall is being able to wear all the fun scarfs, gloves, and socks that I knit all year long. The ones I keep anyway. Ha ha. Jeans, boots, and warm scarfs. All that with the beauty of Gods masterpiece painting the leaves.. Just love!!
My name is Jodie Lombardo and my favorite thing about Fall is the changing leaf colors. I live in the Great Smoky Mountains of East Tennessee and it is absolutely beautiful here. I also love the hope of things to come. I always get my hopes up in the Fall that we will have snow when winter comes and I always have high expectations and hopes for the coming holidays.
I love the smell of cinnamon in the fall. Something about it reminds me of fall goodness – pumpkin pie, cool weather, and scarves. Living in Florida we don’t always have the chance to break out our winter gear, but the smell of cinnamon can put me in the fall mood as quick as a wink!
My favorite part of Fall would be those trees that turn a fiery red and make any other tree feel insecure. They are gorgeous against a pale Fall sky!
I love being able to play outside during the day, having candles lit and the windows open. Here in FL you can only enjoy being outside all day during spring and fall…LOL! I love being outside! π
Hi, my name is Merri Lewis, and Fall is my very favorite season. I love all the colors the leaves on the trees turn, the smell of the woods, and the comfort of being heated up from the inside out with a nice hot coffee!
Well this got all of us to post, huh? π Smart!
I have not been as present these past few months as I am in a new season of life… But still love to read the blog faithfully (and of course pray for you all at LPM)!
I was thinking about one of my new favorite things about fall… That it predictably comes every year at this time. Something about the sudden loss of my dad last December 23 has made me appreciate the things that God gives us that are utterly predictable in this ever-changing and unpredictable world. It is simply comforting in that it ARRIVED as expected with all its beauty and splendor. And for that I love Him…. and I love it!
What a fun idea for a giveaway.
God bless you all. Your ministry is life-giving to so many of us…. We thank God for you.
And of course my name is Heather Smith and I live in Lewiston, Idaho. Sorry I forgot to include that as asked in my post! π
Heather Kudla
Bundling up in a warm jacket and a blanket and having a fire in our fire pit outside – watching the sun set and make the already brilliant leaves blaze with color – and then late at night (still by the fire) being able to hear the coyotes yipping in the background, and owls hooting in the woods. Sounds travel so much more clearly in the cold air!
Love the cooler weather and football season is well underway!
I love the smells of fall……the leaves, apples, cinnamon, and pumpkin of course!
How do I pick one thing? I guess my very, very favorite would have to be the changing colors of the leaves.
I love fall because this is the time of year when my beautiful daughter was born! And the colors changing are gorgeous! God is good!
