Ladies! I think a Friday afternoon deserves a celebration. We’ve almost made it through the entire work week! Woo hoo! We can see the light at the end of the tunnel. DEAR SIESTAS! THE MERE THOUGHT OF YOU IS MAKING ME GO ALL-CAPSY.
It has been FOREVER and then some but I have been thinking about you. I know I haven’t been in this here blog-space much recently but I can assure you that I’m still at LPM. My days are full since I’m working and going to school part-time. AGAIN. Yes, again. Somehow even when I vow to walk away for good, I end up right back in the classroom in some capacity. This time around I’m working slowly on a M.A. in Biblical Languages at Houston Baptist University. When I’m not researching something for a project at LPM, I’m taking a Greek class in the Septuagint and a Hebrew readings class in the Joseph narrative. Oh, and how could I forget to mention Winston Jeffrey Fitzpatrick?! A little over a year ago Colin brought home a baby rottweiler and our life has never been the same since (even when I desperately want it to be!). Winnie is SO, SO bad but we love him madly.
Here is W posing in my dining room. Or demanding a filet mignon cooked over medium, I’m not really sure.
Here he is again furious about having to wear his birthday hat:
But really, enough about us.
I want to talk about YOU and a fall giveaway we are doing because we love you and appreciate you.
Now, I should mention at this point that if you are one of those people who is SO OVER all the talk about pumpkin-flavored anything, then you will want to run for your life.
RUN FOR YOUR LIFE.
Do I have a faithful fall remnant?
This weekend we had our first legit “cold-front” here in Houston. It was even down in the forties one night. Glory be! The crisp cold air in my lungs got to me in the best way possible and, of all things, I wanted to cook. There’s just something about fall that always brings me back to the kitchen. Nothing better than listening to a little Norah Jones or The Civil Wars with the windows cracked open, cool breeze dancing through the house, while a chili or stew simmers on the stove. I thought just maybe fall might do the same for some of you so the grand prize winner will get a redΒ Le Creuset signature round dutch oven (red not orange like the one on the box).
I love it passionately and do not want to let it go. I even enjoy posing with the beloved dutch oven:
The second prize to be claimed is a $100 gift card to Pottery Barn because, let’s be honest, Pottery Barn during the fall season is heaven on earth:
Gift number 3 includes an amazing decorative pillow, fall flower arrangement, and Hill Country Home candle.
Gift number 4 includes a fun little clutch from Anthro, a scarf, several pairs of boot socks, and some gorgeous MAC makeup in fallish colors.
Here is Lindsee modeling the scarf. Love her and she can work a scarf better than anyone I know:
This MAC stuff is tough to photograph but fantastic (includes three eye shadow kits and two lipsticks in shades of Russian Red and Viva Glam III).
Gift number 5 has a bunch of fun stuff: Cook’s Illustrated Fall Entertaining magazine, kitchen towels, mulling spices, Hill Country Home candle (again this is one of my faves!), autumn cupcake decorating set, beautiful engraved silver dish, Trader Joe’s Pumpkin bread mix, and more.
Gift number 6 comes with a fun autumn welcome mat, potpourri, decorative kitchen towel, and my favorite ever mulled apple cider candle. DIVINE.
Here is Mom sorting out all the gifts. Isn’t she cute?
So dear friend, for a chance to win one of the six prizes, please leave a comment with your first and last name and tell us something you love about fall.
We love you so much,
Melissa

Fall is my most favorite season. It’s generally a quick season in Pennsylvania because the snow comes so soon (we’ve trick-or-treated in the snow before).
I love… the colors. Pumpkin everything. Warm Chai tea. Cardigans. Baking. Best of all, Reformation Day. π
I am your typical “native” Nebraskan now living in Wyoming. My favorite fall memories of my childhood center around being with my mom on a typical fall Saturday with the windows wide open, something great baking in the oven, and the Nebraska Football game on the radio. To this day she always wears red on Saturdays and I can honestly say I wear it too if I don’t have to wear purple in support of my sons’ teams.
Holly: One thing I love about Fall is living in COLORADO and going on walks with God and seeing (enraptured really) the beauty of God’s creation. Here is a sample for you, if you wish to see it, too: http://www.amarthaheart.com/2012/10/18/on-my-fall-filled-walk/ Love you all much in Jesus! Wishing His gifts upon you, dear Sisters in the faith.
Fall is my all time favorite time of the year! I love warm delicious coffee sipped on crisp mornings, vibrant fall colors, family togetherness at thanksgiving, the natural earthy feel and vibrant colors and so many other things.
Fall in KY is amazing! Cool, sunny days give way to crisp, brisk evenings.
There is no place in the world like autumn in our great state!
I love fall because it’s the beginning of the holiday season. A time where many memories are made with my family and friends. I also love fall for pumpkin spiced lattes. Yum!
Fall has always held a special place in my heart, but even more so as that is the time of year Jesus grabbed my heart and changed my life forever. Amen!
Oh Melissa — you have a shopping gift! I am originally from Michigan, so I miss the vivid fall colors now that I live in Texas. So I make up for it here by cooking and baking … Pumpkin breads, chili … Comfort foods! BTW, I live by the TX Hill Country and haven’t heard of Hill Country candles before! How have I missed that???
I love stepping on the fallen leaves and hearing them crunch
Fall is my favorite season! I love the changing colors, warmer fashion, comfy socks, fireplaces, pumpkin-spice coffee and baking! This us such a great giveaway, thanks for blessing us!
I LOVE the colors–both to look at AND to wear; the crisp air that makes you thirsty for spiced apple cider, the smells of pumpkin and cinnamon, and the earlier sunsets. These bring us back inside to focus on cozy relationships.
That Hill Country Home candle is so wonderful! We burned one here at home yesterday. So so good. All these gifts are fun & would perk fall up. Thanks for a fun giveaway!
Janice Hilt…..I love to see the sun setting reflecting the colorful leaves on the trees! Its like God has the paintbrush touching up each and every leaf on every tree!
I love fall and the holiday seasons it brings. The crisp air, beautiful scenery and the scents of pumpkin and apple cider. Fall also means the beginning of a new Beth Moore Bible Study with my bible study sisters. Right now we are nearing the end of Daniel. What an awesome job the “Moore Women” do for the rest of us women in your world! Love you all gobs!
I love fall because of the smells, the crisp breeze, and the fact that I will be able to spend so much time with my family during the upcoming holidays!
I love the anticipation of the holidays, I love fall fashion and the cool crisp Texas mornings, and of course, I love college football!
I recently became a runner. I don’t really know how it happened as I hated running. But God does amazing things in our lives, and at at age 36 he has given me this– and I love it. He also gave me a great running partner and we have done some prayer runs–we run and pray at the same time. Super amazing. After running in the heat all summer, I am loving FALL for the cool weather and beautiful scenery for running. It’s been heavenly.

My fave two things about fall (yes, I’m cheating and putting two. I am a rebel, what can I say?!) are a)Color – this AZ girl came to Michigan 6 years ago and is STILL blown away by Spring and Fall. Who knew that trees came in other colors besides green?!?!?!?!?! and b)Pumpkin – coffee, ice cream (pumpkin pie Blizzards y’all … God’s Glory is in them, I promise you!), pies, candles … anyway that I can get em!
Love y’all – this is so fun!
i love sharing it with my 4 and 5 year old grandbabies this year decorating tne yards with pumpkins, hay, corn stalks and fall flowers their laughter, excitement and smiles cant be brought. Here in Alabama the fields of cotton are as white as snow, only God can create such beauty.
Wow! What a giveaway! Love that scarf and make up:)
I love fall because of the colours in the part of Ontario where I live. SImply breathtaking!
Fall is my very favorite ever. I was saved the fall I turned 16 and ever since, I can’t see a red maple tree without remembering how things die, and then He brings us back to life. I hope I win! I have a best friend that’s about to have a baby any day and her hubby just left here (Arkansas) for D.C. because he is a lineman and went to help install power. So he’ll miss this birth :(…but she loves fall as much as I do and I would love to bless her with this!
I love the new beginnings fall brings, the smell of pumpkins, gloves and scarves, and mostly Thanksgiving cooking with my wonderful aunts and mom!
I love fall because of the cool weather, and it takes a long time to get here where I live in Florida.
I absolutely love wearing my boots and scarves! They make me feel so cozy.
I LOVE Fall…pumpkin anything, fall colors, apple anything, changing colors of the trees, going to the pumpkin patch, and especially Thanksgiving. π Thanks for the fantastic giveaway opportunity!

I just love fall….all the beautiful fall colors, walking in the leaves, raking the leaves (and even smelling them burning), getting out long lost sweaters, and thinking about Christmas to come….I often wonder if God gives me the beauty of fall before the cold, snow, and ice comes and I cannot go out so much. Thanks for thinking of us Siestas!

I love crisp cool walks with my yellow lab, and seeing her inner puppy come out as the temperature drops…(she’s almost 12! )
I love sipping on a mug of hot apple cider on a cool crisp fall night.
I love fall for so many reasons! Cool & crisp sunny days, Scarves & boots, pumpkin anything, hot soups on the stove, snuggling under blankets, Thanksgiving and Christmas! Hope y’all enjoy this time of year!!!
I love autumn because I love watching the trees change colors!
Fall is my very favorite season! There is nothing that I don’t love about it. I even choose October for our wedding month because it’s just so beautiful. My favorite thing about fall (right at this exact moment, it changes like the leaves:) is Twinings Chai Pumpkin Spice tea, yumm! Y’all have some excellent taste in give-aways!
ETA: Kelly Buffington:)
Fall is my favorite because of the refreshing it brings…the new colors of the leaves, the crisp air, the glow of tree-lined streets, the coziness and warmth are my favorite things about fall.

I Love This!! I just love our small little home in the Fall!! It smells of my husbands coffee brewing in the early morning, my scented fall candles during the day and my 1 yr old sons wet cherrios and toys and crunched up leaves!! It’s the best! Thanks for the contest! Blessings!
Pamela Callahan –
One thing I love about fall are the leaves blowing around, especially when they blow right at you while driving!
And I LOVE me some Football from Mite League to the NFL, but especially my PC Cougars and my UT Vols!
Thanks for loving on us, I need it!

I love fall because it is all about Auburn football, the Peanut Festival, chili, and hot chocolate! Oh, and boots! Lots and lots of boots π
I love fall because of the great weather and warm decor! I also love bonfires, chili, and smores! π
I love FALL because it rhymes with y’all! I also love it for the yellow leaves and sitting in front of the fireplace with my family!
I love looking out the window on a cold day from inside a cozy home!
I love fall because it means my hour long drive to Wednesday night church is even prettier, and football season has arrived, people are more grateful and giving, and I get to wear boots and oversized sweaters! Oh, and I love all the delicious food!
-Caitlin Copeland
I love Sunday afternoon naps with windows open and a football game on (we’re in MD so the seasonal changes are very drastic!). I love that I can send my very rambunctious little 3 year old boy outside and when he comes back inside he smells like autumn breeze and not entirely just sweat. π
I love boots and lattes and fires and color changes. I love the reminder from the leaves that seasons CHANGE and new, better, brighter things will come. I love brisk outdoor walks and the fact that a good sweater can conceal that baby pouch (I think) just a little bit better than a summer tank. π
Thanks for all you all do at LPM. I love fall!
I love fall because here in the upstate of SC it means CLEMSON FOOTBALL and man, my blonde hair looks great with Clemson orange attire! Happy fall, y’all!
Yay, I love Clemson orange too! Go Tigers! I’m a SC girl with a son at Clemson! π
I love the colorful sunsets and up here in Michigan we have the best cider and donuts!
Preach it, girl. I grew up in MI and will never forget going to the cider mill every fall for hot cider and cinnamon donuts. Fabulous memory!
I love the fall as it is a sign this difficult year is coming to an end while reminding me God created an amazingly beautiful world. I love that in my ever warm state of AZ this means no more 100 dergree weather. Lastly, I love fall as it is a reminder that God is in control of all things big and small just by looking at the beautiful changing leaves and the the mood that comes along with the holiday spirit. <3
I love all the crunchy leaves in the fall!
What I love about Fall…I look forward to the crisp nights of settling in with my family. I look forward to fireside chats with my husband. I like hot chocolate, hot tea and hot apple cider.
I love the change of the trees from green to yellow, red and brown. I also love the falling leaves. They whisper the hope of spring. So grateful that God has promised seasons until the end.
I love fireplaces, candles, good books, beautiful leaves and warm drinks. I love fall fashions: scarfs, sweaters and boots. But mostly I just love the feeling of waking up in the morning and getting to snuggle up with the Word, a cup of coffee, a giant sweatshirt and watch His beauty change the world outside my window! That is what I love about fall!
I love fall for the crispness in the air, pumpkin anything/everything, and scarves!
I’m not usually a Fall lover. I’m more a Spring & blazin’ hot Summer girl…the hotter the better. However, this Fall has me in the hardest battle I’ve ever faced in my 39 years. So, as I lean on the Lord and look to him for my very breath, this Fall is the promise that it’s only a season. I will not be here forever. Fall is the hope of when everything we’ve loved is falling away there is a promise for restoration of the beauty that once was.
I love fall because of God’s creation. The leaves changing and the cooler temperatures make it a great time to spend time with the family outside. Also, this fall we have made homemade molasses even though I don’t like it. π
I forgot to put my last name for this comment. Nichols
The smile on my friends face when we meet to talk about God in this”season” of our lives. Fall brings an intimacy with it that all the other seasons lack. It’s right before the celebration of our Savior and the beginning of all things new. Starting a new season on November 5th. God has blessed me with a job outside my home after 14 years of being a stay at home Mom. And I love the changing of the leaves. Colors are deeper, richer and more soulful.
