Ladies! I think a Friday afternoon deserves a celebration. We’ve almost made it through the entire work week! Woo hoo! We can see the light at the end of the tunnel. DEAR SIESTAS! THE MERE THOUGHT OF YOU IS MAKING ME GO ALL-CAPSY.
It has been FOREVER and then some but I have been thinking about you. I know I haven’t been in this here blog-space much recently but I can assure you that I’m still at LPM. My days are full since I’m working and going to school part-time. AGAIN. Yes, again. Somehow even when I vow to walk away for good, I end up right back in the classroom in some capacity. This time around I’m working slowly on a M.A. in Biblical Languages at Houston Baptist University. When I’m not researching something for a project at LPM, I’m taking a Greek class in the Septuagint and a Hebrew readings class in the Joseph narrative. Oh, and how could I forget to mention Winston Jeffrey Fitzpatrick?! A little over a year ago Colin brought home a baby rottweiler and our life has never been the same since (even when I desperately want it to be!). Winnie is SO, SO bad but we love him madly.
Here is W posing in my dining room. Or demanding a filet mignon cooked over medium, I’m not really sure.
Here he is again furious about having to wear his birthday hat:
But really, enough about us.
I want to talk about YOU and a fall giveaway we are doing because we love you and appreciate you.
Now, I should mention at this point that if you are one of those people who is SO OVER all the talk about pumpkin-flavored anything, then you will want to run for your life.
RUN FOR YOUR LIFE.
Do I have a faithful fall remnant?
This weekend we had our first legit “cold-front” here in Houston. It was even down in the forties one night. Glory be! The crisp cold air in my lungs got to me in the best way possible and, of all things, I wanted to cook. There’s just something about fall that always brings me back to the kitchen. Nothing better than listening to a little Norah Jones or The Civil Wars with the windows cracked open, cool breeze dancing through the house, while a chili or stew simmers on the stove. I thought just maybe fall might do the same for some of you so the grand prize winner will get a redΒ Le Creuset signature round dutch oven (red not orange like the one on the box).
I love it passionately and do not want to let it go. I even enjoy posing with the beloved dutch oven:
The second prize to be claimed is a $100 gift card to Pottery Barn because, let’s be honest, Pottery Barn during the fall season is heaven on earth:
Gift number 3 includes an amazing decorative pillow, fall flower arrangement, and Hill Country Home candle.
Gift number 4 includes a fun little clutch from Anthro, a scarf, several pairs of boot socks, and some gorgeous MAC makeup in fallish colors.
Here is Lindsee modeling the scarf. Love her and she can work a scarf better than anyone I know:
This MAC stuff is tough to photograph but fantastic (includes three eye shadow kits and two lipsticks in shades of Russian Red and Viva Glam III).
Gift number 5 has a bunch of fun stuff: Cook’s Illustrated Fall Entertaining magazine, kitchen towels, mulling spices, Hill Country Home candle (again this is one of my faves!), autumn cupcake decorating set, beautiful engraved silver dish, Trader Joe’s Pumpkin bread mix, and more.
Gift number 6 comes with a fun autumn welcome mat, potpourri, decorative kitchen towel, and my favorite ever mulled apple cider candle. DIVINE.
Here is Mom sorting out all the gifts. Isn’t she cute?
So dear friend, for a chance to win one of the six prizes, please leave a comment with your first and last name and tell us something you love about fall.
We love you so much,
Melissa

I love fall because it’s finally cold enough to wear BOOTS!
I love fall because from the moment I stop sweating buckets before 10 a.m., I start thinking THANKSGIVING! And right then, I start listing the bazillion and ten things I’ve got to thank Him for and praise Him for… puts a song in my heart that bubbles over into every part of life. We start writing our thanks on strips of pretty scrapbook paper and on Thanksgiving Day, we make paper chains to go on our Christmas trees. Love, love, love fall and THANKSGIVING!
I love getting a “new” wardrobe. Since I live in the coastal south, I have lots of clothes that get put away until cool weather comes. This year I’m really enjoying my new tall boots!
Fall is a great time to run! It’s not too hot so you feel great afterwards! And running is always therapeutic and a great time to tune into God.
I love many things about Fall! This year, we are experiencing beautiful Fall colors in England, but missing so many of these amazing pumpkin and other flavored/scented treats because it’s just not as popular here. My very favorite Fall treat is Andy’s Frozen Custard (Springfield, Missouri) pumpkin pie concrete, extra piece of pie! Heaven in a cup, I tell ya! Sigh. I’ll eat double next year! Thanks for the chance for this fun giveaway! π
The sky is never bluer than october and november and I my two babies were born in the fall π Oct. 19th and Nov.16th. It’s a great time of year to finish a pregnancy…not too hot!
Love the colors, the cooler weather, baking, Amarillo sunsets are breath taking in the Fall.
Fall in our home means slower, lazier days, more family time, warm, cozy blankets, crock-pots full of soup, candles burning, marshmallows roasted over the fire pit or in the fire place, our warm fleece clothing comes out of hiding and the smells of baking bread, pumpkin pie and all kinds of yummy goodies. I have been blessed to be a stay at home momma with my two girls thanks to the Lord and their hard working daddy. During the cold days of fall I build a small fire in the fire place and watch or listen to sweet Beth online or do another Bible study by the fire. I feel so very blessed. God has been so very good to my family and shown us much grace through the years.
I love the colors of fall. I love the cooler temps and getting to cuddle up with a blanket and read a book while sipping hot apple cider.
I love the colors of fall. I also love the leaves, pumpkins and the smells of pumpkin pie and apple cider.
I love that I get to see Beth this fall (tomorrow!!!!!!!) in Maine π That is a wonderful fall treat!
I love all things fall. Pumpkin, flannel, chili, fires. You name it!
I love the crisp cool breeze and the first time you get to wrap up in a cozy scarf. π
Absolutely love the colors of fall!
My favorite things about fall are warm soups, family time, the beauty of the mountains, and pumpkin spice coffee.
Fall means soup weather has begun!! One of my favorite things.
Our family loves the fall! To us it means:
Beauty: decorating for fall,colorful leaves,crisp air,lovely scarves
Comfort Food: apple butter, grandma’s chicken corn soup, hot chocolate
Togetherness: family vacations in the mountains, s’mores around a firepit
I love the fall colors, the cool, fresh air, and low humidity which is so kind to my hair.
I love the smell of wood-burning stoves/fireplaces/fire pits in the fall! They have a different smell in the cooler air. And the colors God uses to paint the leaves that are dying are just amazing. (I only hope that one day as I am winding down my days on this earth that I can so beautifully reflect my Creator’s creativity!)
I just love the gorgeous trees, and the chill in the air and the warmth of a fire!
My favorite thing about fall is walking through the park with friends as the leaves fall around us in vibrant colors.
My name is Melinda Hollis, and I love the colors of fall. Red, orange, yellow, brown. Beautiful.
Rebecca Tyndall
The thing I love best about Fall is wearing jeans and a long sleeve shirt and being COMFORTABLE! π π I live in South MS, which is similar to Houston, so I know you can relate. Oh, and I also love Fall because I can wear my outrageously curly/frizzy/curly/frizzy hair gloriously straight! π
Love you guys!
Rebecca
Angie Call; My favorite thing about fall is the beautiful weather, the crisp air, and being able to spend time with family. There is such a peace and warmth over thi time and it truly makes you thankful for all the things God has done in and through you. No matter what difficulty you have had that year, somehow the fall makes you take a step back and reflect about God’s goodness. Through that goodness it makes me want to give to others. I pray I can live in that spirit all year round!
Fall is by far my favorite time of year. I love the crisp air, brilliant leaves, deep blue skies and wearing my softest sweater. The beauty of this season makes me both joyful and nostalgic. A brief glimpse of heaven on earth perhaps? For me, I think it is so. π
I love everything autumnal…I even love the word autumnal! The colors, smells, and tastes are all divine. Fall is as comforting as my morning Jesus, pajama, coffee time. It’s my favorite time of year.
I love fall because everything slows down for me and I get back in a routine. No more summer craziness of staying up late, running here and there, and that oppressive heat! October is my birthday month and at this “time” of my life, cooler weather is my friend.
Kami Hauser- I love pumpkin chip cookies in the fall! Ooh and apple crisps!!
I love the weather in Houston being cooler so I can enjoy time outside with my sweet kiddos!
Hi I am Iris, ANd I love much about the fall, but the first things that come to my mind here in East Coast of Canada is 1 the profusion of colour, the reds oranges golds and yells just blindingly bright even today in the dreary drizzle, the world out my window was stunning with the sun reflecting off the ocean and the colours of fall spilling through the windows not only of my house but the windows of my mind. Just amazing and the second thing is the smell it is truly truly something you only get shots of from time to time but it is the cool dampish air, the leaves starting to break down and the ground spongy from the rain. I am talking about the natural outdoorsy smells, granted the pumpkin and apple pies and home made ciders make out homes smell ever so mouth-watering and amazing, but being outside by the ocean with the air, the mist, the wet sand, the leaves and the wind enlivening your senses, you would be hard pressed to find something as awe-inspiring. Those are my thoughts on Fall. God did Good!
I love the colors, smells, and the “food” of fall, one of my favorite times of year.
Thank you Lord for giving us the seasons!
I love fall for the changing tree colors. It is a magnificient way for God to show his majesty and beauty of His creation. It is a beautiful fall in Illinois.
I love the chocolate chip pumpkin bread I eat every afternoon with a cup of hot tea.
opps sorry I should have proofed before I hit submit, yellows not yells, sorry.
I absolutely adore the beautiful colors that fall has to offer, and the weather. God is SO GOOD to autumn nature. It’s my favorite
So fun to celebrate Autumn with you all! Our leaves are all piled up around our yard – so pretty.
I love seeing the leaves change colors in the fall. The Sugar Leaf Maple tree, in my opinion, is the most beautiful.
I love all of it! Beautiful colors, mulled cider, the smell of bonfires, sweaters, mittens, boots, and scarves! Days slow down as we gear up for two months with way too much family time and even more amazing meals! (This post just got me re-energized…at 9 pm..oops!!)
I love the fall it’s one of my favorite seasons along with the cooler temperatures, the holidays, family gatherings, camping, & the turning of the Autumn leaves are so pretty. I love to make stews, soups & chili & to cuddle up with a nice warm blanket & a good movie.
Fall is my favorite! I love the changing leaves, crisp air, pumpkin spice lattes, and mums!
Thank you! It all looks so great! I’d love to celebrate the cold front (in La.) with one of these gifts!! Thanks!
Fall is my favorite season. I love being able to wear boots and sweaters. I grew up in Ohio and since moving to Florida I don’t get to experience as much fall as I would like. Pumpkin never gets old to me!
My favorite thing about fall is cuddling with my little boy! Thank you LPM for all the blessings you bring.
I love fall because the leaves on the mountainside take my breath away!!
I grew up in Michigan and moved to Fl about 10 years ago. We just had a cold front as well and I love it! Fall is my most favorite time of the year! The crisp smell in the air and yes I am such a pumpkin junkie! Oh how I miss the fall colors while they change. Are God is amazing!
God bless
I love a good bonfire in the fall! Somehow, hotdogs taste better when burnt over an open fire:)
I love so many things about fall but one favorite is the feeling of the crisp air in the mornings when I sit down with by bible and coffee in the dark quiet before all the padding of little feet come running for a warm breakfast.
Fleece sheets on the bed, a fire in the fireplace, and casseroles and soups from the kitchen!
I love football season, taco soup, and finally getting to wear boots and scarves!!
Love the fall leaves and change of temp!
