Ladies! I think a Friday afternoon deserves a celebration. We’ve almost made it through the entire work week! Woo hoo! We can see the light at the end of the tunnel. DEAR SIESTAS! THE MERE THOUGHT OF YOU IS MAKING ME GO ALL-CAPSY.
It has been FOREVER and then some but I have been thinking about you. I know I haven’t been in this here blog-space much recently but I can assure you that I’m still at LPM. My days are full since I’m working and going to school part-time. AGAIN. Yes, again. Somehow even when I vow to walk away for good, I end up right back in the classroom in some capacity. This time around I’m working slowly on a M.A. in Biblical Languages at Houston Baptist University. When I’m not researching something for a project at LPM, I’m taking a Greek class in the Septuagint and a Hebrew readings class in the Joseph narrative. Oh, and how could I forget to mention Winston Jeffrey Fitzpatrick?! A little over a year ago Colin brought home a baby rottweiler and our life has never been the same since (even when I desperately want it to be!). Winnie is SO, SO bad but we love him madly.
Here is W posing in my dining room. Or demanding a filet mignon cooked over medium, I’m not really sure.
Here he is again furious about having to wear his birthday hat:
But really, enough about us.
I want to talk about YOU and a fall giveaway we are doing because we love you and appreciate you.
Now, I should mention at this point that if you are one of those people who is SO OVER all the talk about pumpkin-flavored anything, then you will want to run for your life.
RUN FOR YOUR LIFE.
Do I have a faithful fall remnant?
This weekend we had our first legit “cold-front” here in Houston. It was even down in the forties one night. Glory be! The crisp cold air in my lungs got to me in the best way possible and, of all things, I wanted to cook. There’s just something about fall that always brings me back to the kitchen. Nothing better than listening to a little Norah Jones or The Civil Wars with the windows cracked open, cool breeze dancing through the house, while a chili or stew simmers on the stove. I thought just maybe fall might do the same for some of you so the grand prize winner will get a redΒ Le Creuset signature round dutch oven (red not orange like the one on the box).
I love it passionately and do not want to let it go. I even enjoy posing with the beloved dutch oven:
The second prize to be claimed is a $100 gift card to Pottery Barn because, let’s be honest, Pottery Barn during the fall season is heaven on earth:
Gift number 3 includes an amazing decorative pillow, fall flower arrangement, and Hill Country Home candle.
Gift number 4 includes a fun little clutch from Anthro, a scarf, several pairs of boot socks, and some gorgeous MAC makeup in fallish colors.
Here is Lindsee modeling the scarf. Love her and she can work a scarf better than anyone I know:
This MAC stuff is tough to photograph but fantastic (includes three eye shadow kits and two lipsticks in shades of Russian Red and Viva Glam III).
Gift number 5 has a bunch of fun stuff: Cook’s Illustrated Fall Entertaining magazine, kitchen towels, mulling spices, Hill Country Home candle (again this is one of my faves!), autumn cupcake decorating set, beautiful engraved silver dish, Trader Joe’s Pumpkin bread mix, and more.
Gift number 6 comes with a fun autumn welcome mat, potpourri, decorative kitchen towel, and my favorite ever mulled apple cider candle. DIVINE.
Here is Mom sorting out all the gifts. Isn’t she cute?
So dear friend, for a chance to win one of the six prizes, please leave a comment with your first and last name and tell us something you love about fall.
We love you so much,
Melissa

I love the cool days to wear sweat shirts and cozy up on the couch with my family!
The fabulous colors of fall foliage takes my breath away. I do hope that God has a place in heaven where the trees are the golds and reds of fall.
Such nice and thoughtful gifts! So obvious that you ladies enjoy giving as much as receiving! My favorite things about Fall are few only because it is a reminder that my favorites time of year is coming to an end! But I do love the cool evenings and how at night it feels so good to snuggle into my cozy bed! I love seeing my kids in their jeans and sweatshirts/sweaters! I love knowing that the next couple of months are about FAMILY! Oh, and I LOVE pumpkin pie!!! π
Thanks for your tenacious use of the gifts God has given you.
I love fall because both my boys were born in the fall and my husband and I were married in the fall! Wonderful memories and the best days of my life!
I love spiced cider and anything pumpkin!
I live in Fort Worth, Tx…and you know…for a minute there we thought Fall had arrived; but it was 86 degrees today…and tomorrow will be slightly warmer! No problem. I’ll just crank down the air and “pretend” it’s Fall by drinking hot spiced tea while I read your precious blog posts. Thank you for the amazing jobs you all do!
Blessings:)
I love the magnificent colors of Fall and the crisp air, a welcome relief from the heat os Summer. I love the distinctive smell of Autumn, the burning leaves and all the wonderful tastes…..apple cider and pumpkin pie. I’m not sure why, but I sense the nearness of the Heavenly Father often in the Fall. I think about everything for which I am thankful. His blessings are many and His magnificent love captures my soul. Fall is my favorite.
The wonderful colors and the crispness in the air. Nothing better than that first pot of chili!
Hey Beth and Melissa!! Probably my favorite thing about this fall besides the colors and the smells is that our growing little church participated for the first time in our town’s annual Peanut Festival. It was our first major undertaking as a church and we had soooo much fun!!! We had a float with the Peanuts characters, horses and a buggy, a booth with lots of candy and flyers. It was so wonderful to see my church family come together with a lot of laughter and joy and spend time telling people about Jesus.
Among all its beauties, for me, the two loveliest aspects of Fall are refreshment and comfort. The cool crispness and washing rain of a Fall day speak to me of the promise of a refreshing by the Spirit from the heat of life’s long, dry summer. The nourishing “comfort” foods we associate with the Fall season are a sweet reminder that the true Comforter has come.
I love the trees in the fall they remind me of a patchwork quilt from God. Watching the silly squirrels chase each other with their nuts.
Firstly, thank you for organizing a give-a-way. Ya’ll are so generous!
What is not to love about fall? If I had to choose one thing it would be the scent of change in the air. No other season smells quite as good!
Oh Winston is adorable.
I love fall for the smells and tall boots and light fall jackets! It’s the perfect time of year!
Thank you!

I love the colors of fall when the leaves change.
F – family together for holidays
A – air turning crisp and cool
L – leaves changing colors – beautiful
L – large mugs of coffee/tea by the fire
My favorite thing about fall is the changing leaves and weather, for some reason these things always remind me of God working and changing our lives. Fall reminds me to stop and reflect and revel in God’s beauty.
Fall is my favorite season! Love the baking, holidays, and pumpkin pie!!!
I love the cool air and the smell of fireplaces burning in the neighborhood. I love the way the marsh grass changes from green to brown. I love that it is the time when we celebrate the holiday of Thanksgiving with family.
I LOVE Friday night in the fall. We usually have soup or chili, build a fire and play UNO or watch a movie. Absolutely, my favorite time of year!
BUT….my very favorite thing is the change of the landscape.
The fall colors around here are stunning! God showed off big time this year!
Blessings,
Stephanie
I love pumpkin lattes and evening fireplace
I love fall because of Thanksgiving! I have so many things to be thankful for… blessed far beyond what I deserve!!
I love Fall because it means that Christmas is right around the corner, when there is magic everywhere you go. Christmas music on the radio and on my stereo, excited children and cookies…don’t forget the Christmas Cookies. But most of all I love it, that at this time of year, even strangers smile when you look them in the eye and wish them a MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! So THAT’S why I love Fall!! π Blessings to y’all!!
Fall is my very favorite season for many reasons (one I LOVE anything pumpkin!), but I especially love the way God shows His beauty in the amazing colors of the trees all around me…especially when they shine on gray foggy days.
I Love God’s Painting job that He does in Fall, by coloring the landscape in beautifuly rich colors!
How fun! What great give-aways! You guys are awesome!
Gid’s creation at it’s best.
The colors of the changing leave brings much joy to most people, just by looking at them, the cool air, Thanksgiving ..time to recall God’s blessing thru out the year, family and friend, a time to help others, the harvest, wow so much to enjoy in the autumn!
Oh what I love about Fall is the changes in the leaves and the crisp air makes you want to build a fire and cuddle with the one you love……Moving right into the month of November a time to be Thankful for everything God has blessed you with……..

I love being outside in the fall… Soaking up the warming sunshine & holding my arms out as the cooling breeze blows… No more pesky mosquitos!…It’s chilly enough to warm by a campfire and roast marshmallows… It’s invigorating! And I have to also mention pumpkin pie and playing basketball outside with my family. π
I love the crisp weather in the morning & warmer afternoons. I love soup, boos, sweaters… And not sweating all the time here in Texas. I love thanksgiving, and time with family.
The beautiful fall colors and changing leaves.
I love the cooler weather plus all the great decorating ideas!
I love all the colors of fall and the cooler weather. It is a nice change after the hot summer. I think God created the different seasons because he knows how fickle we are and need change. I’m always ready for the warmer weather after winter. He knows what I need!!!!
I LOVE fall because of the gorgeous colors, smells, and recipes. I drive around my town with my mouth agape ohhhhing and awwwing!! My boys keep tellin me “mom pay attention to the road!!”
Praise God for his amazing creations and attention to detail!!!

With so many entries, I don’t have a chance. I love the gifts shown! What I like about Fall… I love getting ready and celebrating all the holidays during the Fall. I love the Christmas music at the stores, the turkey in November, the candy/chocolate in October. Great months of the year. Thank you for sharing with us these gifts.
I love all the beautiful colors on the trees and I love being able to bake again now that its cooled down!
I think God created seasons to add variety to our life. We are ready for the change with cool breezes, colored leaves, fall decor wiith pumpkins and spice and everthing nice.
Sweaters and boots, fires crackling in the fireplace, walks after dinner in the cool air – those are the things I love about fall!
Fall is my favorite season of the year. I love the cooler temperatures, the smell of something fresh baking in the oven, getting ready for family holidays & get-togethers, maybe a fire in the fireplace–there are just so many things that I love about fall! π
I LOVE the colors of fall!!!! But sadly here in Iowa they are almost all blown away!!! So now I’m lovng sweaters and BOOTS!!!
I love seeing my babies all bundled up with hats and gloves!!!! Oh, and the snuggles on a cold day!!!
I love just about everything that comes with autumn…. the promise of the holidays coming, the crunch of leaves underfoot, bonfires, hayrides, apple cider and hot chocolate, pumpkin pie, pumpkin bread, pumpkin everything! Caramel apples, candy corn…. mmmm. I also really just love the reminder that God is the changer of seasons (Daniel 2:21–He changes the times and the seasons).
F–fabulous fiery red orange leaves falling
A–alluring aroma of crisp air that requires a sweater
L–listening to the crackling logs of an evening bonfire
L–loving laughter of family gathered together
Fall: I love having a weather that starts to let me to wear scarfs and sweaters outside of my office building, and along with that getting a few cooler, less humid nights in Houston, and that huge, gorgeous orange moon that rises in the evening, and college football (Go Gators!), and making smores with friends around a bonfire- and most of all, getting to fly back home and see my family more π P.S. Love your blog (not to mention this ministry!) PTL for what y’all are doing!
There is little in my memory more beautiful than the umbered leaves of red, gold, and orange falling like snow along the two lane path that winds though our little town. As I have walked early each morning worshipping with the musical orchestrations of praise and worship on Pandora, I have wept, skipped with joy, and floated in faith on HIS promises of peace….all because of the evidence of HIM in this season’s magnificent spender….
splendor…..sorry!
I love fall mainly because of all the beautiful colors that surround us and the cooler air. But it also brings back lots of memories….being pregnant with my three wonderful children, taking long walks in the woods as a teenager and soaking in those beautiful colors of nature, squirrel hunting with my dad, and looking for arrowheads. These are just a few!
This year I love fall because it means an end to the wild fires we have dealt with all summer. Fall is also when or church starts up potlucks again…thank you Lord! Fall is when I do all of my baking and creating in the kitchen and it’s my birth season too! Fall is beautiful π
oh, the fall colors; walking through crunchy leaves; cooler weather; chili; roasting marshmallows; hot chocolate; anything pumpkin; the smell of cotton and/or peanuts being harvested; football; country craft fairs – just a few of the things i love about fall!
I love fall because I just love going back to school. I am student teaching first grade this year and they are all so adorable. My kids are all teenagers now but there’s just something special about a six year old’s first desk of their own and the magic of school when they’re little.
I love the crisp mornings and warm afternoons as well as the beautiful autumn colors of the changing leaves. However the best part of Fall is the family gatherings whether it be cooking in the kitchen, watching a football game or playing a lively game of cards. Family is one of the greatest blessings from the Lord and I cherish every moment we have together.
