Ladies! I think a Friday afternoon deserves a celebration. We’ve almost made it through the entire work week! Woo hoo! We can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Believe me when I say we here at the office are coveting each of the gifts and almost threw a fit when we realized we couldn’t enter the giveaway ourselves. DEAR SIESTAS! THE MERE THOUGHT OF YOU IS MAKING ME GO ALL-CAPSY.
It has been FOREVER and then some but I have been thinking about you. I know I haven’t been in this here blog-space much recently but I can assure you that I’m still at LPM. My days are full since I’m working and going to school part-time. AGAIN. Yes, again. Somehow even when I vow to walk away for good, I end up right back in the classroom in some capacity. This time around I’m working slowly on a M.A. in Biblical Languages at Houston Baptist University. When I’m not researching something for a project at LPM, I’m taking a Greek class in the Septuagint and a Hebrew readings class in the Joseph narrative. Oh, and how could I forget to mention Winston Jeffrey Fitzpatrick?! A little over a year ago Colin brought home a baby rottweiler and our life has never been the same since (even when I desperately want it to be!). Winnie is SO, SO bad but we love him madly.
Here is W posing in my dining room. Or demanding a filet mignon cooked over medium, I’m not really sure.
Here he is again furious about having to wear his birthday hat:
But really, enough about us.
I want to talk about YOU and a fall giveaway we are doing because we love you and appreciate you.
Now, I should mention at this point that if you are one of those people who is SO OVER all the talk about pumpkin-flavored anything, then you will want to run for your life.
RUN FOR YOUR LIFE.
Do I have a faithful fall remnant?
This weekend we had our first legit “cold-front” here in Houston. It was even down in the forties one night. Glory be! The crisp cold air in my lungs got to me in the best way possible and, of all things, I wanted to cook. There’s just something about fall that always brings me back to the kitchen. Nothing better than listening to a little Norah Jones or The Civil Wars with the windows cracked open, cool breeze dancing through the house, while a chili or stew simmers on the stove. I thought just maybe fall might do the same for some of you so the grand prize winner will get a red Le Creuset signature round dutch oven (red not orange like the one on the box).
I love it passionately and do not want to let it go. I even enjoy posing with the beloved dutch oven:
The second prize to be claimed is a $100 gift card to Pottery Barn because, let’s be honest, Pottery Barn during the fall season is heaven on earth:
Gift number 3 includes an amazing decorative pillow, fall flower arrangement, and Hill Country Home candle.
Gift number 4 includes a fun little clutch from Anthro, a scarf, several pairs of boot socks, and some gorgeous MAC makeup in fallish colors.
Here is Lindsee modeling the scarf. Love her and she can work a scarf better than anyone I know:
This MAC stuff is tough to photograph but fantastic (includes three eye shadow kits and two lipsticks in shades of Russian Red and Viva Glam III).
Gift number 5 has a bunch of fun stuff: Cook’s Illustrated Fall Entertaining magazine, kitchen towels, mulling spices, Hill Country Home candle (again this is one of my faves!), autumn cupcake decorating set, beautiful engraved silver dish, Trader Joe’s Pumpkin bread mix, and more.
Gift number 6 comes with a fun autumn welcome mat, potpourri, decorative kitchen towel, and my favorite ever mulled apple cider candle. DIVINE.
Here is Mom sorting out all the gifts. Isn’t she cute?
So dear friend, for a chance to win one of the six prizes, please leave a comment with your first and last name and tell us something you love about fall.
We love you so much,
Melissa

I love that we get to go camping (travel trailer kind!) and have more time with the hubs/daddy b/c he doesn’t have quite as much work commitment. 🙂
The weather and clothing that goes with it is my favorite part of fall. Any excuse to layer and bundle up is a necessity. Plus all the soups I can manage to make is a huge plus! It is honestly my favorite season:)
I love the cool weather, fall decorations, and love that I can wear a scarf & boots!
I love fall because I started a new Bible Study group this fall and we studied Daniel!

I love fall because I love seeing the leaves change and I love wearing cute sweaters!
Hey ladies, my name is Melody Schrock. This may not be your typical answer to “why do you love fall, girls” but my favorite thing about fall, is FOOTBALL!!! Seriously…
I love the fall colors and roasted marshmellows!!!!!
I love fall, it is one of my favorite times of the year. Growing up in Florida you really do not get a chance to experience the season full on, but I was able to last year. Our family moved to Indiana and I was able to experience all 4 seasons and Fall by far is my favorite. I love the way teh leaves change their colors and the breeze feels so different from any other breeze during year, not only that but the smells in the air even change. They go from hot stale air to a fresh warm inviting smell that is just unexplainable. But now I am back in the south, south for a time anyways and really do miss fall.

The best thing about Fall to me is not sweating as much, and even being able to turn off our air conditioning now and then in Florida. It may not be much, but it’s fun to have something besides short-sleeved shirts and sandals as a fashion choice. And I am going to host Thanksgiving for the first time in my whole life! Big step!
I love getting my sweaters and boots back out of storage!!!
I love, love, LOVE Fall!! It’s always such a blessed treat after the hot, humid summers here in the South! I love Fall candles burning in my home and pumpkin muffins cooking in the oven!
What’s not to love about fall! Football, changing colors, cool crisp weather, sweaters, boots, and my birthday! Fall is beautiful and my favorite time of the year!
Fall in the desert is a gift from God. The tempature cools and one can actually enjoy the outdoors. The low electric bill is also a blessing. I also get to bring out my fall decorations since we don’t have real fall foliage. It is still beautiful!
I love fall because we get to dig out the long sleeves, sweaters, and scarves and hopefully not deal with any more humidity and heat!!! Also enjoy the beautiful leaves changing and the crisp air. Most of all, I look forward to celebrating Thanksgiving with family and friends and preparing to celebrate our Lord’s Birthday!
I love fall for so many reasons: holidays like Halloween and Thanksgiving, football games, fall carnivals, and relief from summer weather!
In autumn, I love the extension of summer, known as Indian Summer. I love the larches needles turning golden in upper elevations on the mountains. I love the thought of snow promising a great ski season ahead.
Fall is just a glorious season. I love Fall. We homeschool, so it is back to that, but more than that, is the colors. I see it as God’s painting to me, His daughter! He is saying child I love you so much I painted this just for you. So when I have a down day I look at the painting and know He loves me.
I love the colors of fall. Thankful for your ministry!
I love the changing colors of the leaves. This year they were especially beautiful just outside Jackson Hole, Wyoming!
Hi!! I’m Brooke, and from Minnesota. One of my favorite things about fall is the cooler temps since I’m always sweating, but more importantly the trees are a beautiful array of colors, and try to soak them in since it is for such a short time. Hope you have had a wonderful fall in Texas!
Oops, I forgot to add my last name: Prenzlow
Hello. Beth and Melissa. Fall is the most georgous season of the year. Was married in Nov. had cancer surgery in October and while I went through treatments, God painted the most beautiful scenery back of my home and I laid on the sofa and enjoyed the view so much. My youngest grandaughter tells me she thinks of me when she see the beautiful colors on the trees. Smells of nutmeg, cinnamon and ginger help make recovery from a heart attack easier in N.C. Beautiful…
I live in FL so we are just beginning to get the first hints of cooler weather here. I love when we can open all the doors and windows, turn the air off and just let the freshness of this change in season give us a freshness of spirit, too!
Fall means cold nights infront of the fire playing games or watching movies with the kids. Frost on the grass in the morning, and bright orange, red trees with splashes of vivid yellow. It is my favorite time if the year.
Hello! I love fall because I love the beautiful gold, orange, and red leaves. I thank God for color! Enjoy Jesus!!

All things apples(pie, crisp, slab, cake, caramel), the smell of spicy candles burning, a natural burning fire place, bonfires, watching the Green Bay packers on a Sunday afternoon with a good bowl of chili. The crunch of leaves under my feet, my grandmother’s quilt, fuzzy socks, a walk in the crisp cool of the evening…. I could go on and on.

Love Fall! It reminds me how beautiful and colorful life is after a long, dry season! The beauty of the fall colors is awe inspiring – takes my breath away. My favorite time of year.
I Love Fall because it reminds me of growing up in Michigan . all the wonderful memories of Beautiful color changes , a nip in the air , apples, cider jumping in Piles of raked leaves bon fires . . fall has always been my favorite season .and though I have lived in central Florida over 34 yrs ( which doesn’t do Fall!) I find myself longing for it and am so very thankful when God opens a door of opportunity in the fall for me to visit . I can’t help but think that if I have such a deep longing and hunger to “Do the Fall thing ” every year when October comes . How much Greater should my passion and Hunger be For God’s Kingdom as I (we) “Taste And See the awesome colorful , crisp adventure God has for us !
I love fall for many reasons. I was born in the fall, so the fall always represents a new season/a new beginning. I celebrate the opportunity to have a fresh start, one that is punctuated by the smells of pumpkin and spice. The crisp air always refreshes me. I relish being able to wear scarves, boots and hats; to have an excuse to cuddle in a warm blanket, savor a comforting soup or warm up with a delicious cup of hot cocoa. As an avid football fan, I am thrilled this season gets ushered in with the contagious cheers of excited fans in a stadium. The colors of fall paint the world in beautiful colors like no other time. Fall also creates an anticipation for the holidays when we come together to celebrate the precious gift of the birth of Christ. The anticipation that something miraculous is around the corner is beyond thrilling. During this time of year every sense is ignited in such a unique way that is unforgettable.
I love the vibrant colors of the trees-especially the maroon red of burning bushes!
I love living in Missouri where the leaves are so beautiful, chilly nights, scarfs, bonfires, boots, and Thanksgiving!!
I love the beautiful colors, the smell of wood burning fires and being able to pack up my Tevas and pull out my boots.
Baking…all things pumpkin, pies, cookies, etc. I love how the house wams up because of the goodies in the oven.
Autumn is my favorite season. I can bring out sweatshirts and sweaters and enjoy cooler temps outdoors admiring Gods beautiful display of His creation. The brilliant colors, the fragrance of burning leaves and pumpkin spice cookies baking, the crunch of leaves underfoot on long walks in the woods. Hearty soups for dinner and curling up on the couch with a soft cozy throw. Perfect!!!!
I love fall because I live in the mountains of Western North Carolina and at this season God paints our hills with bright orange, red, and yellow colors that take my breath away!
I love fall for the crisp cool mornings and for many more reasons. But mostly because it is a slower season for me when i am home more and have more time for my quiet time and time for bible studies u provide.
Joanna Sigman – cool temps, warm kitchen!
I love fall for the smells of harvest, the dry leaves crunching under my feet, the cool nights to crack the windows open, for hayrides and weinee roasts, smore’s, and the anticipation of the holidays fast approaching.
You girls are so fun! Thanks for giving of yourselves so selflessly for all of us.
Blessings, Mary Jane
