DEAR SIESTAS! THE MERE THOUGHT OF YOU IS MAKING ME GO ALL-CAPSY.
It has been FOREVER and then some but I have been thinking about you. I know I haven’t been in this here blog-space much recently but I can assure you that I’m still at LPM. My days are full since I’m working and going to school part-time. AGAIN. Yes, again. Somehow even when I vow to walk away for good, I end up right back in the classroom in some capacity. This time around I’m working slowly on a M.A. in Biblical Languages at Houston Baptist University. When I’m not researching something for a project at LPM, I’m taking a Greek class in the Septuagint and a Hebrew readings class in the Joseph narrative. Oh, and how could I forget to mention Winston Jeffrey Fitzpatrick?! A little over a year ago Colin brought home a baby rottweiler and our life has never been the same since (even when I desperately want it to be!). Winnie is SO, SO bad but we love him madly.
Here is W posing in my dining room. Or demanding a filet mignon cooked over medium, I’m not really sure.
Here he is again furious about having to wear his birthday hat:
But really, enough about us.
I want to talk about YOU and a fall giveaway we are doing because we love you and appreciate you.
Now, I should mention at this point that if you are one of those people who is SO OVER all the talk about pumpkin-flavored anything, then you will want to run for your life.
RUN FOR YOUR LIFE.
Do I have a faithful fall remnant?
This weekend we had our first legit “cold-front” here in Houston. It was even down in the forties one night. Glory be! The crisp cold air in my lungs got to me in the best way possible and, of all things, I wanted to cook. There’s just something about fall that always brings me back to the kitchen. Nothing better than listening to a little Norah Jones or The Civil Wars with the windows cracked open, cool breeze dancing through the house, while a chili or stew simmers on the stove. I thought just maybe fall might do the same for some of you so the grand prize winner will get a redΒ Le Creuset signature round dutch oven (red not orange like the one on the box).
I love it passionately and do not want to let it go. I even enjoy posing with the beloved dutch oven:
The second prize to be claimed is a $100 gift card to Pottery Barn because, let’s be honest, Pottery Barn during the fall season is heaven on earth:
Gift number 3 includes an amazing decorative pillow, fall flower arrangement, and Hill Country Home candle.
Gift number 4 includes a fun little clutch from Anthro, a scarf, several pairs of boot socks, and some gorgeous MAC makeup in fallish colors.
Here is Lindsee modeling the scarf. Love her and she can work a scarf better than anyone I know:
This MAC stuff is tough to photograph but fantastic (includes three eye shadow kits and two lipsticks in shades of Russian Red and Viva Glam III).
Gift number 5 has a bunch of fun stuff: Cook’s Illustrated Fall Entertaining magazine, kitchen towels, mulling spices, Hill Country Home candle (again this is one of my faves!), autumn cupcake decorating set, beautiful engraved silver dish, Trader Joe’s Pumpkin bread mix, and more.
Gift number 6 comes with a fun autumn welcome mat, potpourri, decorative kitchen towel, and my favorite ever mulled apple cider candle. DIVINE.
Here is Mom sorting out all the gifts. Isn’t she cute?
So dear friend, for a chance to win one of the six prizes, please leave a comment with your first and last name and tell us something you love about fall.
We love you so much,
Melissa

I love the beautiful colors of fall. The cool change in the air, the changing colors of the trees It reminds me that Christ can do a mighty work in me as well, change, take away the old..and make me new! I love the time spent with family during this season, laughter, warm drink, playing games! A wonderful time to spend outdoors, enjoying the beauty all around, created by the one who is the most creative of all,our God.
I love taking an annual Fall walk with my 2 great girls, Jessica Joy (19) and Emily Hope (17)…we love all the colors here in Idaho and treat ourselves to our yearly Pumpkin Spice Latte!
I love the beautiful colors of the leaves, simply breath taking. I love when they fall and my son jumps in them like its his job!
“FALL”ing in love…October 16,1982 was the first date with the man i would eventually marry. Fall is still our fave time of year 30 years later. He is the best blessing God ever brought into my life.
I love fall candles, chilis, stews, squashes, burnt orange sweaters, tall brown boots, and cozy evenings. I live in Montana so our fall starts early but is unbelievably beautiful!
I love tall boots and pumpkin spice lattes!
I love this fall especially after such a dry, hot summer. Actually things have turned green again and some trees are confused and blooming again, crabapples especially, while many others are changing the color of their leaves just in time to shower the ground with reds, oranges, yellows and browns. It is an amazing time of year that God has blessed us to enjoy and remind us all of His extravagant love and creative genius:) I also love that we can be outside for much of it, for the weather, although still changing dramatically from day to day here in Missouri, is much gentler.
I LOOOVE everything fall…cooler weather, the crisp clean smell in the air, leaves that are the most amazing bright and beautiful jewel colors that fall like rain on windy days, pumpkins plump and round, apples that go crunch as you bite into them, yummy homemade caramel corn with a warm cup of apple cider or a pumpkin latte, comfy yoga pants and sweatshirts on those cool days and so much more. Thank you LPM for the opportunity to win one of these awesome gifts!
I love fall in Tennessee where I have lived all my life. I don’t have to travel far to see the beauty of what our God Almighty has created in this beautiful season but I truely love all seasons. Tennessee gets to experience them all very destinctly. Fall in Tennessee has been great!
What I like the best about fall is the opportunity to gather with family and friends. (and food!)
The fact that it is one of God’s beautiful gifts to let us enjoy 4 seasons. Fall is a reprieve from the hot summer and a crisp breath of air before the cold winter. It is refreshing to the body, mind and soul. Praise God and his majesty!
I love being outside with my kids while they play and not freezing or overheating.
The things I love about fall are trips to the Pumpkin Patch, candles burning, and a fire in the fireplace while doing a puzzle.
I love watching falling leaves! Doesn’t happen all that often here in North TX, but I love it when it happens.
Since we moved to Central America 6 years ago I really miss the changing of seasons! My favorite thing about Fall is the beautiful trees as they turn colors. Especially at the Lake of the Ozarks in my home state, Missouri π
What fun!!
I love fall- everything about it!
To name just a few things: my anniversary, leaves that swirl as they fall to the ground, colors of the sky, a good pair of boots, lowlights, and how folks around church seem warmer.
Love it π
I love the Fall – it’s one of my four favorite seasons~ 8>) No, really – there is a story of hope in the Fall season, one that restores and revives – though things may appear to be dying, the very color of the fall leaves give us a glimpse of the very color of their leaf buds of Spring – what we can expect in their renewal to come – life is still there – even in the dead of Winter – life will spring forth once again. It may be “old hat” – but the fact remains that each of the four seasons depends upon the other to complete the metaphor of hope available for our eternal future – as God cries out through His marvelous creation – the Good News – Our Redeemer’s Death, Burial, and glorious Resurrection!
I love the cooler weather, the smells of pumpkin spice and cinnamon, and baking yummy treats. π I also love this time of year because school holidays are coming — love having a break to spend time with my family.
Thanks for this great giveaway! I love fall because of the changing leaves and the crisp air. God’s beauty is truly seen in this Earth!
I love all of the baking–the smells of apple and pumpkin desserts are just delicious!
My husband’s birthday and my daughter’s birthday are both in October and three days apart. We have great family time celebrating every Fall.
Probably because I was a schoolteacher for so many years, fall signifies new beginnings. That is a kind of paradox, since so much is ending now, too – the harvest yields the bounty of the fields, the flowers fade after one last burst of color, leaves flutter to the ground leaving bare branches silhouetted against a lowering sky. It’s a time to change focus, to do some soul-searching, to curl up with a thick book, to keep warm under a favorite afghan. Soon I will grow weary of the darker days, but traversing them makes me yearn all the more for the light.
Name: Nikkia Bell
Something I love about Fall: Apple Cider!!!
What do I love about fall? This wonderful cool weather! I can now resume walking in the neighborhood instead of exercising inside π
Kari Frost–I love the cooler weather!
My favorite thing about fall is the unique sights, smells and tastes that come only during the fall months!
Deb Bryan
My Birthday is November 6th so I definitely love that!
I love the colors of fall here in the Carolinas. God’s use of color just makes me smile. He is even better than Disney LOL
I love the chill in the air and the yummy smells!! There is nothing like nutmeg and cloves!
I love EVERYTHING about Fall! And I’m certain that Fall is God’s favorite time of year too because Fall is Harvest time….you know how God loves a good Harvest “)
My husband is in the military and for the last 7 years we have been stationed in places where there is no Fall!…Florida and Hawaii. Though the weather is divine and the scenery beautiful there are two crucial elements missing from both places…Fall and of course Snow. In 6 short week we are being moved back to our very first base in Northern California. I will again see leaves change color, smell burning wood, feel a cold wind, and hear the zip of a nice warm jacket.
Though the site of that beautiful Dutch Oven makes me all quivery inside, I have my eye on the gorgeous scarf, boot socks and makeup. It’s time to get this wardrobe in gear. Swimsuits, sunscreen and flip flops just aren’t going to cut it.
Thanks!
Happy Fall! Thankful for Living Proof ministries.
My favorite thing about fall is God’s amazing beauty in the colors of the leaves and time with family doing fall activities!
I love the beautiful colors of autumn leaves.
What a cool idea.
I’ve moved to CO from SC and have been experiencing some true fall weather….it’s been a few years.
I think my favorite thing about fall is the smells. I love coming home to the smell of chilli or pumpkin pie. Also, the air just smells different. I used to live in an area where people could burn their leaf piles. Nothing says fall like that smell!
I love baking in the Fall! And I love the leaves.
When I smell the leafy air, and remember crunching to school in October in Massachusetts in my brown mary janes.
I love the crispness of the air on a beautiful fall afternoon.
I have to say that I love everything about fall. I enjoy the chill in the air and my fuzzy scoks the warm me up. I love the smells, the colors and even the sounds. I love tailgating and football watching. But what I love the most is that with the changing of the leaves I am reminded that God takes something (the leaves) that is dying, makes it beatuiful and promises to give it new life
I love blue jeans, the seat warmer in my car, and the hot sun through my windows. π

I love Fall because it reminds me of how amazing Our Creator is. He made the leaves to shunt from the tree, turn a fabulous shade of autumn, and wither away. It’s breathtaking!
I love the day the first cold front blows through & knocks the humidity out of the air. Love how blue the sky is & how crisp everything looks. Also love how much better my hair looks!
I love the cooler temperatures in the fall!!
I love fall because its the one time of the year that I get to fly home to see my family! It’s a Thanksgiving tradition that my 6 siblings and I gather with our families and our parents and have dinner together! Believe it or not, all 28 of us sit down at one really, really big table!
Fall the passageway to celebrations with family!
I love EVERYTHING about fall, but most of all the cooler weather!!!!
I love Fall because it is one of the most breath-taking displays of God’s creation. The crisp air and the leaves changing colors never cease to take my breath away. How God must love us to make something so beautiful…and it’s only a glimpse of what eternity holds. And Fall reminds me that even when things die and fall away and a time of cold and darkness and even loneliness follows, new life is just around the corner. And there is beauty even in the darkness(Isaiah 45:3)
My name is Kelly Hall and I’m going to love the extra hour of sleep I’ll get this weekend! Fall back! I also love Thanksgiving- no gifts, no costumes, just family, food, and memories!
Love the colors in the trees, high school football games and thoughts of the holidays and time with family just around the corner.
Usually there isn’t much I love about fall because typically it marks the beginning of my descent into a winter funk. However, this fall I decided to focus on the beauty of the changing leaves, the crispness in the air and the excitement of college football . . . I may end up a full fledged fan of fall after all.
love watching my babies jump in the leaves…mine and my youngest’s birthday–he’s 3 this year…the sweaters and gloves…the hot cocoa and afternoon coffee…pumpkin and apple treats…bonfires at my mother-in-laws…the church hoedown at our friend’s farm…friends, family, and good food!…lots to love and be thankful for!
