DEAR SIESTAS! THE MERE THOUGHT OF YOU IS MAKING ME GO ALL-CAPSY.
It has been FOREVER and then some but I have been thinking about you. I know I haven’t been in this here blog-space much recently but I can assure you that I’m still at LPM. My days are full since I’m working and going to school part-time. AGAIN. Yes, again. Somehow even when I vow to walk away for good, I end up right back in the classroom in some capacity. This time around I’m working slowly on a M.A. in Biblical Languages at Houston Baptist University. When I’m not researching something for a project at LPM, I’m taking a Greek class in the Septuagint and a Hebrew readings class in the Joseph narrative. Oh, and how could I forget to mention Winston Jeffrey Fitzpatrick?! A little over a year ago Colin brought home a baby rottweiler and our life has never been the same since (even when I desperately want it to be!). Winnie is SO, SO bad but we love him madly.
Here is W posing in my dining room. Or demanding a filet mignon cooked over medium, I’m not really sure.
Here he is again furious about having to wear his birthday hat:
But really, enough about us.
I want to talk about YOU and a fall giveaway we are doing because we love you and appreciate you.
Now, I should mention at this point that if you are one of those people who is SO OVER all the talk about pumpkin-flavored anything, then you will want to run for your life.
RUN FOR YOUR LIFE.
Do I have a faithful fall remnant?
This weekend we had our first legit “cold-front” here in Houston. It was even down in the forties one night. Glory be! The crisp cold air in my lungs got to me in the best way possible and, of all things, I wanted to cook. There’s just something about fall that always brings me back to the kitchen. Nothing better than listening to a little Norah Jones or The Civil Wars with the windows cracked open, cool breeze dancing through the house, while a chili or stew simmers on the stove. I thought just maybe fall might do the same for some of you so the grand prize winner will get a red Le Creuset signature round dutch oven (red not orange like the one on the box).
I love it passionately and do not want to let it go. I even enjoy posing with the beloved dutch oven:
The second prize to be claimed is a $100 gift card to Pottery Barn because, let’s be honest, Pottery Barn during the fall season is heaven on earth:
Gift number 3 includes an amazing decorative pillow, fall flower arrangement, and Hill Country Home candle.
Gift number 4 includes a fun little clutch from Anthro, a scarf, several pairs of boot socks, and some gorgeous MAC makeup in fallish colors.
Here is Lindsee modeling the scarf. Love her and she can work a scarf better than anyone I know:
This MAC stuff is tough to photograph but fantastic (includes three eye shadow kits and two lipsticks in shades of Russian Red and Viva Glam III).
Gift number 5 has a bunch of fun stuff: Cook’s Illustrated Fall Entertaining magazine, kitchen towels, mulling spices, Hill Country Home candle (again this is one of my faves!), autumn cupcake decorating set, beautiful engraved silver dish, Trader Joe’s Pumpkin bread mix, and more.
Gift number 6 comes with a fun autumn welcome mat, potpourri, decorative kitchen towel, and my favorite ever mulled apple cider candle. DIVINE.
Here is Mom sorting out all the gifts. Isn’t she cute?
So dear friend, for a chance to win one of the six prizes, please leave a comment with your first and last name and tell us something you love about fall.
We love you so much,
Melissa

What is not to Love about fall? I LOVE everything fall, chilli, soups, fires, smells, temps, colors, etc.
I love all of the pumpkin flavored treats, from muffins to creamer!
I love winning prizes in the fall! Rachel LaMesa, CA
I love fall for so many reasons. Memories of when I was young…..memories of trick or treating, the fair, high school football games, and playing in the leaves as a child. My birthday is October 14th so I have had the good fortune to celebrate 47 fall birthdays in my lifetime! I am so thankful to God for the gift of life, the gift of family, the gift of friends, the gift of health, and most of all, the magnificent gift of knowing Him!
I love watching the leaves falling off the trees revealing
the branches. It always reminds me of how God is like the
trunk of the tree and we are the many branches fed by the
trunk. I have always loved trees and can’t wait to see
how beautiful they will be on the new earth.
I am so fortunate to live in New England and fall is absolutely gorgeous here! I went to college in PA and for those four years I desperately missed the beautiful foliage. Now that I am back home, I don’t take a moment of it for granted. Just today, I went for a long walk with a friend on a local bike path and could not get over the amazing colors!
I also love apple picking…though if I’m being honest, I really go for the warm cider donuts after we are done picking the apples! 🙂
I love the colors! And the cooler temps!! And breaking out my sweaters and tromping around in boots!!!
I love pumpkin everything, cool nights, sausage and cabbage soup with sweet corn bread!
I LOVE the sweaters, Bon fires, darker lipstick, hot chocolate, the color of leaves, the smell of fall candles, I love EVERYTHING about fall!!!! 🙂
I love how vividly every thing is. The colors are richer, the air is more bracing, everything is just so much more “there “. I always feel like God is showing off in the fall because everything is so beautiful. I love to be outside smelling the rich oder of leaves and feeling the crispness of frost laden air. I love caramel apples and cider and the donuts you canonly get at the cider mill. I love planning Thankgiving dinner and taking the time to remember how richly God has bleesed me. Fall is the best time of year.
I love the cool feel of the air as it begins to change. I love the magnificent sunrises, God does that so well. Fall is beautiful.
I love fall because I can wear tights and lots of layers.
I love fall because I can wear tights and lots of layers.

I love knowing God is faithful through all seasons!
My favorite thing about fall is the amazing colors that the leaves turn! I enjoy getting out my fall colored clothing to match the foliage too :-). There’s just something about sitting with a cup of coffee looking out at the beautiful trees. Love it!

Hope I’m not too late for this giveaway because all of the gifts are just TOO cute!!! Y’all did SO good!!!
The thing I love about this particular fall is that my first child (daughter) to get married will be walking the aisle a little more than a month and we have had SO MUCH fun this fall preparing for the wedding, going to showers, etc.. And, guess where’s she’s moving after she marries?!!! Texas! The Dallas-Ft. Worth area…so far away from her Mama 🙁 So I guess I’ll be visiting Texas a lot now!!!
I love being able to open the windows & let the cool fall air into the house. And taking walks to enjoy all the fall colors.
I love fall because my precious twins were born in November seven years ago. The week they were born was when the leaves were reaching their peak colors. It was so beautiful to drive them home for the first time seeing the trees painting the way home.
I love fall because, as my daughter would say, “God puts a costume on the whole world.” It is a reminder that God makes all things new, and that true life only comes from dying.
First, what an awesome give away! Super excited to have even a small chance to win any of it! Now, Fall…hoodies and jeans, crisp air, beautiful colors everywhere, watching my little man play in the leaves, fun and family filled holidays which lead us to celebrating Jesus’ birthday, my nieces bday, and pumpkin pie, pumpkin rolls, pumpkin bread, pumpkin ice cream! Seriously, there is nothing I do not love about it!I sometimes feel like fall was made just for me:). Thanks for the opportunity to rave about my favorite season God paints for us every year!
I love opening the windows and the cool clean breeze blowing through. Here in FL you don’t want to open the windows very often what with the heat and humidity!
I LOVE fall bc it’s my birthday season!!! The crisp air, the turning leaves and the smell of bonfires all equal a celebration of life in my mind! My most favorite time of the year – hands down!
Fall is my favorite season. I love sweatshirt weather, leaves changing, and football!
i love the crunch of leaves under my feet and pumpkin muffins from Panera. Thanks!
I love the changing of the light in the fall. The colors of nature seem to intensify.
I love fall! Thanksgiving is my most favorite holiday because I have so much to be thankful for! The LORD has blessed me greatly with my salvation, my family and our health. We spent the last year in Kenya and missed the beautiful colors of fall. It is good to be back and seeing the colors change.
I love sweaters, changing leaves, smell of wood burning, homemade vegetable soup with cornbread, pink noses and cheeks on kids after playing outside, flannel lounge pants,…I simply LOVE fall!

I’m Lori McGahey and I appreciate your blog. I love the colors, textures, and fragrances of fall. It’s a great time to host friends and share awesome food, drinks, and fellowship together. Fall to me means: boots, scarves, leaves, hayrides, pumpkins, fresh apple cider, hot chocolate, Pumpkin Spice coffee creamer, football games, camping, bonfires, soups, stews, and chili. I’d be honored to win any of the gifts. God bless!
Well, where should I start. I love the Fall season! The beautiful autumn leaves and the COOL weather. It gets hot here in SC also. Clemson football games, sweaters, the start-up of our fall Bible Study at church. This fall we’re doing Siesta Mama’s, Revelation Study (wonderful). And of course, the food: soups, stews, desserts, all the comfort foods. It would be too embarrassing to list all the ones I love! Thank you for being so gracious to your Siestas!
I think fall is the most beautiful time of the year here in the mountains of northeastern Pennsylvania. I love the colors and fragrances of fall. The pumpkins and pumpkin pie. The cider.
As the beautiful dying leaves fall from the trees I am reminded that dying for a Christian is a beautiful thing.
I love the calming effect fall has on me. I love that God paints a beautiful picture for me everyday of the season, our trees are beautiful! It’s also my anniversary month. We will be married 36 blessed years!
Well, along with the most amazing colors and trees “clapping their hands” as they rustle in the breeze, I would most definitely have to say the thing I LOVE MOST about the fall is: My Honey’s birthday and our anniversary fall within three days of each other at the end of September!! Thirty two years this year, PRAISE THE LORD! Also, a thought I always have this time of year… even though the trees are in a state of dying, going into a winter dormant, they are incredibly beautiful! And we know when the Spring comes there will be new growth. Our lives are just as beautiful during those seasons that we feel like we are just ‘dormant’ or maybe even some things have died…but…we can trust God is at work, and He will bring new growth if we let Him work in us…and we like all of creation will show forth His Glory! Sorry if this was more than you hoped for 🙂
I love crisp, cool days, family gatherings, and warming my hands on my coffee cup!
I love the crisp air, the beautiful display of God’s creations in the trees, and the yummy treats that only come out at this time of year.
Great to hear from you Melissa! Love Winnie! LOL
What I love about Fall:
1)Bible Study at Church starts back!!We are doing Believing God right now, and it is ON THE MARK!
2)Auburn football! We are having the worst season ever, but having a blast in the Fan Department anyway!
3)My two sons’ birthdays, Nov.1 and Nov.3, 32 and 26 now!
4)Thanksgiving, my favorite holiday
5)the beach in Gulf Shores that is gorgeous in fall, and very sparsely populated!
6)Hope’s Pumpkin Cheesecake! It is a local company, but they will ship anywhere! It is a family favorite!
Okay, enough from me…
Love you Siestas; hope you win!

I love Fall trips to visit my parents out of state. The drive is long, and the scenery is breathtaking! Fall is also the most nostalgic time of the year for me…it’s when I enjoy remembering past holidays and anticipating future ones.
I adore Fall! It’s boots & mismatched sock weather, who doesn’t love that?
I absolutely LOVE the pumpkin spice coffee creamer & apple cider that shows up in stores!
I really love went they sneak out the egg nog early on the shelves!
I love to snuggle up with a blanket and my Bible study and look up every once in a while and see all the beautiful fall colors out my window…things are changing, dying, and falling to the ground but the rocks in my yard will stay there, never changing, never dying, never falling JUST like my God.
I <3 Fall!
I love Fall for the majesty of the colors, for tall shaft boots, the crunch of leaves and the savory goodness of foods and desserts this time of year.
I love the beautiful colors of nature, the smells of cider and pumpkin, football games, and the selection in my closet feels new again. Our God is Good!
The smell of Houstonians using their chimneys and who can forget a pumpkin spice latte
Fresh brisk cool air, walking thorough fallen leaves on a country road, bright red, orange, yellow and brown leaves on trees against a bright blue sky backdrop, pumpkins, fresh crisp apples, hot mulled cider, raking leaves and the smell of burning leaves, and freshly baked pies and doughnuts! It is easy to be thankful in the fall when the Lord’s splendid artistry is on display!
I love fall for all of it’s colors, smells, and everything pumpkin…and good hair because the humidity has left for awhile, yeah! lol
What do I love about fall? The color! Tree-lined streets in shocking gold, burning red, and vibrant orange.
Lauren Williams – I love fall because of all the yummy food and family holidays and celebrations.
I love all the beautiful colors of fall, the crisp air, I even love the shorter days and getting to layer lots of clothes for those wonderful early morning runs!!
I love the colors of the fall leaves and sweet potatoes!!
Thanks for the opportunity to win some fun stuff! When Fall comes I love enjoying some home-made chili, watching the leaves fall, and getting my flower garden ready for winter.
I love everything about fall – colorful trees, leaves crunching under your feet, sweaters, hot cocoa, fall decorations – it is my favorite season.
I LOVE the colors of the leaves as they turn. I live in Wisconsin & it shows God’s handiwork in an amazing way in the fall. I also love pumpkin…latte’s, desserts, candles, soap, lotion! Why oh why do I not eat pumpkin stuff at other times of the year?? Last but not least I love a good cup of coffee on a crisp morning:) Come on over & we can have a cup on my porch while we share what season God has us both in!
Fall is always fun , but this particular fall I’m excited for another reason. My sweet husband arrived home two weeks ago after a six month deployment. Praise God!!!!
