DEAR SIESTAS! THE MERE THOUGHT OF YOU IS MAKING ME GO ALL-CAPSY.
It has been FOREVER and then some but I have been thinking about you. I know I haven’t been in this here blog-space much recently but I can assure you that I’m still at LPM. My days are full since I’m working and going to school part-time. AGAIN. Yes, again. Somehow even when I vow to walk away for good, I end up right back in the classroom in some capacity. This time around I’m working slowly on a M.A. in Biblical Languages at Houston Baptist University. When I’m not researching something for a project at LPM, I’m taking a Greek class in the Septuagint and a Hebrew readings class in the Joseph narrative. Oh, and how could I forget to mention Winston Jeffrey Fitzpatrick?! A little over a year ago Colin brought home a baby rottweiler and our life has never been the same since (even when I desperately want it to be!). Winnie is SO, SO bad but we love him madly.
Here is W posing in my dining room. Or demanding a filet mignon cooked over medium, I’m not really sure.
Here he is again furious about having to wear his birthday hat:
But really, enough about us.
I want to talk about YOU and a fall giveaway we are doing because we love you and appreciate you.
Now, I should mention at this point that if you are one of those people who is SO OVER all the talk about pumpkin-flavored anything, then you will want to run for your life.
RUN FOR YOUR LIFE.
Do I have a faithful fall remnant?
This weekend we had our first legit “cold-front” here in Houston. It was even down in the forties one night. Glory be! The crisp cold air in my lungs got to me in the best way possible and, of all things, I wanted to cook. There’s just something about fall that always brings me back to the kitchen. Nothing better than listening to a little Norah Jones or The Civil Wars with the windows cracked open, cool breeze dancing through the house, while a chili or stew simmers on the stove. I thought just maybe fall might do the same for some of you so the grand prize winner will get a red Le Creuset signature round dutch oven (red not orange like the one on the box).
I love it passionately and do not want to let it go. I even enjoy posing with the beloved dutch oven:
The second prize to be claimed is a $100 gift card to Pottery Barn because, let’s be honest, Pottery Barn during the fall season is heaven on earth:
Gift number 3 includes an amazing decorative pillow, fall flower arrangement, and Hill Country Home candle.
Gift number 4 includes a fun little clutch from Anthro, a scarf, several pairs of boot socks, and some gorgeous MAC makeup in fallish colors.
Here is Lindsee modeling the scarf. Love her and she can work a scarf better than anyone I know:
This MAC stuff is tough to photograph but fantastic (includes three eye shadow kits and two lipsticks in shades of Russian Red and Viva Glam III).
Gift number 5 has a bunch of fun stuff: Cook’s Illustrated Fall Entertaining magazine, kitchen towels, mulling spices, Hill Country Home candle (again this is one of my faves!), autumn cupcake decorating set, beautiful engraved silver dish, Trader Joe’s Pumpkin bread mix, and more.
Gift number 6 comes with a fun autumn welcome mat, potpourri, decorative kitchen towel, and my favorite ever mulled apple cider candle. DIVINE.
Here is Mom sorting out all the gifts. Isn’t she cute?
So dear friend, for a chance to win one of the six prizes, please leave a comment with your first and last name and tell us something you love about fall.
We love you so much,
Melissa

Los Angeles doesnt really HAVE a fall season (it’s supposed to be 90° this weekend)… But if we DID, I would love the boots, the scarves, and my auntie’s homemade soups… 🙂
I love everything about fall. My husband and I share October birthdays! We love taking our daughter for walks in the park and local hiking trails to see all of God’s wonders. We love the smell of the crisp leaves as they change and fall to the ground. Holidays spent with family and of course all of the savory and sweet goodies the holidays bring as well!!!

I live in Florida and the fall is the best time to go to the beach because all of the tourists have gone home. It is too cold to swim but so peaceful to take a walk on the cold sand.
I love the colors of the changing leaves and the crunch of walking on them when they fall. 🙂
katie vanbuskirk…
and i love the brilliant colors, crisp air, the smell of smoke in the air, chopping firewood, and sitting by a fire in the evenings!!
I am in awe of the magnificent colors that fall brings. Beautiful blue skies, apple pies and hay rides.
Normally I love fall because it to takes me to the kitchen. Cinamon zucchini bread is my go to.
However, this Fall is my favorite of all as my first ” grand angel” arrived. Beautiful and healthy. I can’t wait to start a Grandma closet! ( Yes I stole this fromBeth saw her in Moline at loved the idea. Thanks for sharing!!)
Fall is my favorite season. I love it because of all the colors, the cool weather, football and all the chili and soups I can make! But what I really love about it is since the weather is cooler it means the family is in and closer together! Thanks for the great giveaway!!
It has to be walking through the Farmers Market and smelling fresh apples!!!
Right up there would also be sitting at dinner for Thanksgiving and each of us talking about
our blessings! 🙂
I love seeing the Lord’s hand in the harvest, His beauty with the fall colors…it all screams of his creation!
Hi, My name is Leann Walker and this is the first time I have responded to a blog for any ever.
The things I love about fall are cold crisp night walks, beautiful array of colors falling from the trees. And Thanksgiving … Because it is simply a day to celebrate God, family, and being thankful for both!
The sky is never as blue as it is in October….and the color of the trees against that blue sky almost seem to glow. The sound of children laughing while they run and jump in piles of leaves is like a fall symphony. Piles of orange pumpkins along the road side are for sale. There are apples to bake pies and butternut squash, fresh greens and muscadine and scupernoog vines have a bounty of wild grapes. Combines harvest fields of soy beans and the fields are ready for winter crops. Then we sit with our families at the Thanksgiving table and give thanks to our great Father for all these gifts He so graciously gives. I don’t think I love anything best…..I just love it all.
I love COLORS of fall … it’s like God just swished his paintbrush through the most gorgeous palette of colors and gently dabbed them across the sky – makes my heart sing:) A close second … it’s soup time!
Fall is my time of year. I am a knitter and the cool weather brings out my knitiness! The colors, the food, and pumpkins! I love pumpkins. It also heralds the return. To school and Bible Study and using the oven. God made me a woman that loves autumn. Did I mention boots instead of flip flops?
Debbie Gohn – I love looking at God’s handiwork in the Fall – the blue skies, beautiful leaves, crisp apples and pumpkins!
I am the Laurel M. From above, forgot to put my last name. I also forgot to add that I like fall for the chance to get bak to Bible Study with the wonderful women I am involved with and this Fall we ar doing the David study by Beth Moore!
After over 30 years (WHAT?!?) of living in WI, I’m spending my first fall in our new home in AZ. It’s so different here, but I love it. One thing that hasn’t changed is that we enjoy our beloved Green Bay Packers! 🙂
THANK YOU for taking the time to blog – it’s so fun getting to know you, your family, and your team. AND a give-away…what a fun surprise!
The beautiful colors that reveal God’s artistic handiwork. And cooler temps that demand a warm & comfy sweater! Thank you & God bless you all!
I love fall – my favorite time of year. I live in the foothills of Southwest Virginia, and I believe God displays His splendor in the most glorious way here during the fall. I imagine the colors we see here absolutely have to be close to the ones we’ll see when we’re in heaven. The air is so crisp and clean – my soul is renewed!
chili, football, snuggy docks, and my quilt my sister made for me! :0)
I love the anticipation of the season. The breath taking tree colors that God gives us that feel like a final gift whose memory can carry us through the sometimes seemingly endless gray winter days. I also love pumpkin patches with my five kids!
I love the crunch of the leaves, the colors, the smell of Fall. It’s my favorite time of year!
Ohhh Fall! So many things to love. My favorite would have to be all food pumpkin…pumpkin lattes, pumpkin pie, pumpkin dip, pumpkin bread. You get the point. Besides feeling healthy eathing and drinking so many things with pumpkin in it, it provides another insulating layer that we here in the midwest need for the winter. LOVE IT!
I so love the colors of fall, it is a magnificent blessing from heaven
What is not to love about fall. Football, fall colors, pumpkin spice latte, boots, crisp air, warm days, crunch of leaves under my feet, sunshine in fall color trees, piles of leaves, jumping in leaves the adorable art project by my Kinder age daughter, thanksgiving, fireplace.
I love fall
Christen
There are so many things to love about fall… God’s dazzling colors (especially when the sun shines on the leaves just so), crisp air, brisk walks, bonfires (and s’mores!), starting a fall bible study, apple picking, apple cider, the “crunch” of walking through leaves, kiddos making leaf forts, our wedding anniversary! I could go on and on of the many things to be thankful for about this glorious season given to us by our loving Creator. 🙂
Jemy
I love fall because of the changing colors of the leaves, getting to change my wardrobe and go back to sweater and boots, and of course pumpkin spice lattes
My favorite thing about fall… I L.O.V.E. all things pumpkin:
pumpkin spice lattes
pumpkin spice muffins
pumpkin pie
pumpkin roll
pumpkin muffins
pumpkin spiced chai
pumpkin cheesecake
pumpkin, pumpkin, pumpkin!
What I love about fall are the beautiful red trees. My dear sweet grandma who passed away almost two years ago now got a little senile in those last years. One day when we were driving she marveled at how beautiful a tree was in its red fall colors. After that first one she would just random point and say, “red tree.” Well she said it so often we would get so tickled. We would try to drive on roads where we knew we would see lines of red trees just to hear her say it over and over. It was precious. Now when we drive in the fall one of us inevitable points and says, “red tree…I sure miss my grandma. No one held hands like she did.” God is good all the time – but even more so when we see red trees and think of one we loved so dearly.

Why I love fall…..because it makes everything cozy!!!..and Yankee Candle always comes out with some type of new fall candle… I stand there and smell them all …love Autumn Wreath…nothing like smelling a pile of leaves burning from a distance…Cometh Fall Stayeth Longer…
I love Fall with the change in weather and the spectacular colors that God gives to the trees and bushes…it just blows me away every year. I love to see all the leaves turning gold, orange and red…we have some beautiful streets in Kalispell, Montana that I love to drive up and down just to see the trees changing color…oh my, what a sight for these eyes.
Thank you and God richest blessings to you and your staff.
I love LOVE my fall/winter wardrobe. Nothing better than being able to eat eat eat and cover up under a fuzzy sweater with a scarf and a hat and love my leather gloves like a fat kid loves cake.

The way our Father’s warmth comes to rescue the cold – hearty slow cooker stews and soups, cotton quilts, squirrels dancing across autumn leaves to reach their prized acorns – that’s what I love about Fall.
Fall in our house means boys playing football, the SW Arizona weather cooling down, and now hunting season. I am blessed. ❤
Oops! That was supposed to be snuggy SOCKS!
My name is Christa Bearden. The things I love about the fall: 1. Covering up with quilts. 2. The colors and crisp smells outdoors. 3. Our family will soon be gathering around our Thanksgiving and Christmas table 4. Sweaters and scarves and boots. (God knew we would need fall:)
I live in Colorado. I love looking up and seeing all the orange and yellow leaves still on the trees against the bright blue backdrop of sky.- Krista Croft
What amazing gifts! I would love to be picked to receive one! This hardworking, stay at home, homeschooling Momma of three 7 and under is in need of a dreary fall pick me up! 🙂 Blessings on you all, for you truly are such a blessing to so many. 🙂
I love Fall because of the memories it brings back. As a child I lived in upstate New York where the colors of Fall were so beautiful. i have five siblings so we loved to play outside in the leaves, raking them into “houses” or just jumping into a huge pile. When I was 13 we moved to West Texas, where the trees are few and far between, but my husband and I have found a neighborhood that is older and has tree lined streets. I love to ride my bike (at 55 yr old now) crunching over the acorns, admiring the displays of pumpkins on porch stoops and reliving those childhood days where raking leaves was not a chore. There is nothing like a sunny Fall day where the breeze has a bit of chill in it, the sky is a brilliant blue and the hues of Autumn are on display! Definitely my favorite time of year.
I love fall because it is the season that has the two main holidays for which I am thankful for the most, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
So much to love…the leaves changing color, flannel sheets and homemade soups!
Autumn in Southern California is really ‘different’. September can be the hottest month of the year. This used to disturb me as I am from Oklahoma, where fall meant football, beautiful leaves, football, jeans weather, football, and more football. In So. Cali, we still have football, but after the game we grab our surfboards and hit the beach! For Thanksgiving we pack up our dirt bikes and camp all week in the desert. We look forward to that week all year long! So autumn is by far my favorite season.
Fall is my very favorite time of year. The changing color of the leaves and the cooler temperatures after a hot summer.
I love the day I take my family to the pumpkin patch & we pick out pumpkins, buy tons of apples & (of course) get the best caramel apples ever!!! My favorite days are family days full of memories this mom gets to hide in her heart! 🙂
I love the beautiful colors of fall and the chilly weather!
Ok – I am just going to be honest here – Fall is really not my favorite time of the year – yes in letting those words come out of my mouth and filter down to the tapping of the keyboard…my thoughts can change and there really is a great deal that I do love about the season… The most special part of Fall for me are the smells in the air – For whatever reason I am so in touch with scents – they illicit memories and can transport me to various times in my life and after 60 years of doing this thing I have some places to be transported … so back to the fragrances of fall… I adore the early morning when it still dark, it is chilly but not cold and there is calm in the Oregon air… I am out walking my dog and the drift of smoke from a wood stove hits my nose – to tell you the truth (I love it when Jesus says that) I can just stop and close my eyes and breathe in that scent – it simply envelopes me…I am transported back to my childhood when my dad raked the yard weekly and had piles of burning leaves around the 5 acres. I am thankful for my dad (with Jesus) and for not having to rake leaves any longer – but for the Joy of the remembrance. Thanks for the opportunity to share. Love you all!
Oh how I love autumn! I enjoy visiting the apple orchard with my husband. Last weekend we walked around for an hour in the crisp fall air admiring all the colors of fall coming alive on a sunny afternoon. I took a lot of photos and then we both sipped yummy apple cider slushies and shared an apple turnover. It was a perfect afternoon admiring Gods’ wonders of growth, seasonal changes, varieties of one fruit, and harvest. Ahhhhtumn!

I love the fall colors! Beth, like you I think of cooking chili and stew when the air gets cool.
Fall is my favorite season. Crisp, cool weather, beautiful colors, homemade soups, crackling fires, and of course, all things pumpkin too!
I love Fall in Kansas because the trees are gorgeous, there are home football games with the need of sweatshirts, nature walks are awesome, coffee tastes even better, basketball season is around the corner, my sweet girls love school and my dear husband loves this time of year! Thank You Jesus for the changing seasons!!!
