DEAR SIESTAS! THE MERE THOUGHT OF YOU IS MAKING ME GO ALL-CAPSY.
It has been FOREVER and then some but I have been thinking about you. I know I haven’t been in this here blog-space much recently but I can assure you that I’m still at LPM. My days are full since I’m working and going to school part-time. AGAIN. Yes, again. Somehow even when I vow to walk away for good, I end up right back in the classroom in some capacity. This time around I’m working slowly on a M.A. in Biblical Languages at Houston Baptist University. When I’m not researching something for a project at LPM, I’m taking a Greek class in the Septuagint and a Hebrew readings class in the Joseph narrative. Oh, and how could I forget to mention Winston Jeffrey Fitzpatrick?! A little over a year ago Colin brought home a baby rottweiler and our life has never been the same since (even when I desperately want it to be!). Winnie is SO, SO bad but we love him madly.
Here is W posing in my dining room. Or demanding a filet mignon cooked over medium, I’m not really sure.
Here he is again furious about having to wear his birthday hat:
But really, enough about us.
I want to talk about YOU and a fall giveaway we are doing because we love you and appreciate you.
Now, I should mention at this point that if you are one of those people who is SO OVER all the talk about pumpkin-flavored anything, then you will want to run for your life.
RUN FOR YOUR LIFE.
Do I have a faithful fall remnant?
This weekend we had our first legit “cold-front” here in Houston. It was even down in the forties one night. Glory be! The crisp cold air in my lungs got to me in the best way possible and, of all things, I wanted to cook. There’s just something about fall that always brings me back to the kitchen. Nothing better than listening to a little Norah Jones or The Civil Wars with the windows cracked open, cool breeze dancing through the house, while a chili or stew simmers on the stove. I thought just maybe fall might do the same for some of you so the grand prize winner will get a redΒ Le Creuset signature round dutch oven (red not orange like the one on the box).
I love it passionately and do not want to let it go. I even enjoy posing with the beloved dutch oven:
The second prize to be claimed is a $100 gift card to Pottery Barn because, let’s be honest, Pottery Barn during the fall season is heaven on earth:
Gift number 3 includes an amazing decorative pillow, fall flower arrangement, and Hill Country Home candle.
Gift number 4 includes a fun little clutch from Anthro, a scarf, several pairs of boot socks, and some gorgeous MAC makeup in fallish colors.
Here is Lindsee modeling the scarf. Love her and she can work a scarf better than anyone I know:
This MAC stuff is tough to photograph but fantastic (includes three eye shadow kits and two lipsticks in shades of Russian Red and Viva Glam III).
Gift number 5 has a bunch of fun stuff: Cook’s Illustrated Fall Entertaining magazine, kitchen towels, mulling spices, Hill Country Home candle (again this is one of my faves!), autumn cupcake decorating set, beautiful engraved silver dish, Trader Joe’s Pumpkin bread mix, and more.
Gift number 6 comes with a fun autumn welcome mat, potpourri, decorative kitchen towel, and my favorite ever mulled apple cider candle. DIVINE.
Here is Mom sorting out all the gifts. Isn’t she cute?
So dear friend, for a chance to win one of the six prizes, please leave a comment with your first and last name and tell us something you love about fall.
We love you so much,
Melissa

Sarah Doll. I love it all. Pumpkin everything, hiking, beautiful fall leaves, cool mornings, football, and chili.
One thing I like about fall…is going to Starbucks and get my Grande Pumpkin Spice Latte and just sit in their parking lot and watch so many people laughing/smiling with their loved ones while enjoying each others company:)
Fall is my favorite time of year! I love the cooler temperatures, the BEAUTIFUL leaves on the trees here in East Tennessee, football games, fall festivals, caramel apple cider, and of course fall Bible studies! We are finishing the James study tonight!
The bright yellows, oranges and reds of the tree leaves.
I love the fall because all of the fall trees here in the Northwest! I love the fall Bible studies starting up cause we usually take a summer break. I love the cool crisp mornings but the nice warm sunshine in the afternoons.
I love a fire and a good book to read. I love to take time to stay in my house when the rains start!
What’s not to love about fall? I am in Idaho where the colors change, you need a coat in the morning with a cup of coffee and a cozy hoodie in the afternoon.
I love fall because of the awesome smells of wood fires, apple cider, etc. and the clothes are the best of any of the four seasons π
Hi! My name is Sarah Miller and I love fall because I love the respite from the heat and humidity Indiana has to offer in the summer. I relish the first time of turning on the fireplace, gathering under a blanket, and watching movies with my kiddos. I also love getting to wear my hoodies and sweater and therefore not practicing my ‘isometrics’ (sucking in my gut)! Hehe! God bless you all.
For everything there is a season… but fall is the best season of all. Flannel, football, crisp cooler air, pumpkin spiced everything, fall foliage ~ reds oranges, golds, browns. A season of gathering, being thankful in everything.
I love Fall……
Faith

Any normal year I would say I love baking and wearing tall boots in the fall; this year I love baking and EATING as I am 8 months pregnant! Fall couldn’t have come fast enough- my cravings include cinammon and pumkin π

Watching football and celebrating Thanksgiving are my favorite things about fall! Of course, the beautiful colors of the leaves sure are a great addition!
Fall is for me the most special time of the year .God took the time to create in His plans for the world the most breath taking coloured leaves that flutter through the air .They leave there home these little gems of every imaginable shade of red, orange and yellow and create garlands of praise to the Lord over the ground.
Oh I LOVE fall so much! My whole house is fall colors. I cook my own pumpkin so I can bake the whole season. Fall makes me want to curl up with a cup of coffee, a good book and snuggle under a blanket. Yes, I own a Snuggie! However, I live in Texas too so I am eagerly waiting for some fall temps to show up!
I love love everything about fall. I am a pumpkin spice lover.. coffee especially. I love the beauty of the colors. In fact I am a counselor out of my church and I love the way the sun hits a beautiful tree outside my window.. almost distracting π I love the crisp air and apple crisp candles.. haha.. well I just love it all. I am so grateful God gave us seasons!
My favorite thing about fall is the opportunity to eat yummy soups, sleeping with the window slightly opened, while snuggling under an electric blanket, and last but not least, a skinny pumpkin spice latte – can I get an Amen!!!!
My favorite thing about Fall is…a chance to win all this cool Fall giveaway stuff!

The fall always feels like a season of beginnings to me.
Maybe that goes back to starting school as a child in the fall. I was so excited to get those new pencils and notebooks each year. God gave me a huge new start in September 2003, when He gave me the willingness to begin a 12 step recovery program. Praise Him for his Grace and Mercy!!
Fall in Maine is filled with cool days and cold nights, which I love. We light the pellet stove, and snuggle under blankets. I love the smell of fireplaces burning. The changing colors of the trees are magnificent. Turkeys, deer and moose are seen. We prepare for winter. My 2nd son was born in November, and my husband and I celebrate our anniversary, too. Each and every day is a blessing from God.
I love getting out my long sleeve sweaters and tees along with corduroy pants.
Honesty time! What I love about fall is that I can wear clothes that hide the “extra-ness” about me. Extra tummy, extra flab, extra leg hair. You know….EXTRA!
Melana Cummings
What do I NOT love about fall? Warm banana nut bread sits on my counter, fried apples with cinnamon red hots are simmering on my stove and I’ve got the sheets I just took out of the dryer wrapped around me as I sit on the couch and type this. Yes! I love fall π
This has been my best fall ever. After struggling with infertility for so long, this blustery autumn brings a beautiful baby belly for my husband and I. We feel blessed beyond words. I am enjoying long strolls in the crisp air and cozy evening ins. Browned butter chocolate chip (with sprinkled sea salt) homemade cookies and conversations over steamers with friends are such a nice treat. God is so good and I am thankful for the beautiful renditions of his glory in the color that abounds all around us this season.
I love the beautiful colors of fall!!! I enjoy spending time outside with my little ones exploring God’s wonderful creation during the fall months:)

Fall is my absolute FAVORITE season. To name a few specifics: the smell of the leaves, the colors, pumpkin anything and everything, the cool weather, sweatshirts and sweaters, and not having frizzy hair from the humidity.
What a fun giveaway. Thanks for doing this.
I love fall, because it is the time that I get to see all of my family. I love the cooler weather and leaves changing colors. I love holiday coffees and wearing boots and sweaters.
I love the beautiful colors of this season!
We are so blessed to live in the mountains of North Carolina and only about 3 miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway. I love the colors of autumn, the oranges, the red and the yellows. I am about orange like I have heard Beth Moore say about pink. If it is orange, it is God ordained. The color of the leaves, the color of the sky, the amazing sunrise and the beautiful sunset. All are things I love about fall. And I would Love to win this gift basket.
Discovering fall with my small children has made me fall in love with fall yet again. God’s majesty reveals itself in an array of colors in Spokane!
I love the cooler weather & beautiful colors. I love OU football. π I love that my first grandson was born in October. I love that this year that we were able to go with our grandsons (2 yrs. & newborn) to the pumpkin patch on the most beautiful fall day. I love the fall festivities (Halloween) & love seeing all the kiddos dressed up. I absolutely love Thanksgiving when my mom, dad, my three sisters & all of our families go to my sister’s house for Thanksgiving. Fall reminds me of God’s faithfulness like no other time.
My favorite thing about the fall are the changing leaves. God really shows off his painting skills this time of year and this has been a gorgeous one!
pumpkin anything! and the smells of fall. and crunchy leaves!
Melissa … you gorgeous thing! Winston … I remember my puppy dog chewing my table legs. So naughty but nice!
Fall … I’m loving all the leaves falling from our five acres of trees! Walking through them falling … divine.
Lots of love,
shelli
I love fall colors and that my wedding anniversary is in the fall. 10 years this November!
Thanks for the chance to win in this great give-away! I love going up to our time-share in October and seeing all the beautiful tress as God washes over them with His paintbrush!
Lyn Steriti
I love the smell of fall, the colors on the trees and the thoughts of family times together at Thanksgiving and Christmas.
I love the chilly fall nights when I can go for a walk and marvel at all the leaves changing color. Fall also means hunting season and while this will only be my second time ever I will go and sit in a blind with my husband and try for the life of me not to make any noise. I also love all things pumpkin and apple this time of year.

What’s not to love about fall?!?!! I live in the midwest where fall translates into crisp cool mornings, sunny days, crisp cool evenings, hayrides, caramel apples, pumpkin lattes, pumpkin frappecino, pumpkin cookies, pumpkin soup & even pumpkin lasagna!
Autumn here is a time when nature rests. The smell of the air is heavenly.

I love the Maple tree next door that turns a brilliant shade of yellow. It stands right out my bathroom window so I get to enjoy when I am getting ready in the morning.
Lisa Bingham- Cambridge, Minnesota
I love fall for cute boots, smartwool patterned adorable knee high socks, the promise of the Christmas season to come, the first snow of the season, cozy fuzzy sweaters, white polar fleece, pajamas with polka dots, hot coffee with teeny mini marshmallows, walks on a lone country road with gorgous colored leaves all around when you just can’t help but burst into praise songs from the joy of it!!!
Fall is fabulous because of the break in the TX heat & sweater weather.

One of my favorite things about Fall is the smell of peanuts boiling on the stove. I know Fall has arrived when I can buy green peanuts that have just been taken from the ground and put them on to boil.
I love fall! The amazing splendor of God in the vast color of the leaves. The fall harvest of apples. The cool crisp air mixed with the last bits of warm of the summer sun. The snow returning to the not so distant mountain tops. And the return to a routine of early morning getting ready for school, after school snacks, homework and stories. And the grand finale of fall – Thanksgiving. The time gather as an extended family to give thanks to The Lord for all He has done.
I love fall with cooler weather, SOUP, Thanksgiving and Christmas right around the corner! Yep, already listening to Christmas music π
I love the smell of the fireplace, starting a new knitting project & pumpkin spice coffee!
Fall is that wonderful time of year when God takes his paint brush and paints such colorful leaves on the trees. It also ushers in the time of year when we begin to think of what we are thankful for and then celebrate the birth of our Savior. It is a wonderful uplifting time for us and the time when we most think of helping others (we should all year but sometimes we get caught up in summer activities and forget).
Cooler weather, football, soup, pumpkin spice lattes…

I love Fall because I finally get to wear jeans again, which is a real treat living in the state of Florida!
Fall! My favorite time of year because…
The air smells good and turns crispy and makes my nose feel the cold when I breathe in.
It’s the time for baking bread, cinnamon spicy apples and chewy oatmeal raisin cookies.
It’s time to make chili!
Time for being outside and delighting in the azure sky and vibrant colors of the leaves.
It’s scarf and sweater weather – and feeling cozy under an afghan on the sofa.
A time of bounty and feeling invigorated in the coolness of the day when the sun feels good and warm(instead of hot and burning).
It is a time when thanksgiving to my Lord and Savior bubble up in my heart and I can’t hold it back!
