Congratulations!! You did it!!
As we wrap a bow on our SSMT year and prepare for the upcoming Celebration, we want to send along our encouragement to you to continue in this great work. Some of you have already told us you are continuing to memorize on your own, or have even formed your own local teams. We couldn’t be happier to hear it!
Beth and LPM will plan to see you right back here next Jan 2017 to link arms together to hide God’s Word in our hearts. He is worthy!
WooHoo. So excited.

“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”
Ephesians 2: 8-10 ESV

The first verse of the year for me was Joshua 1:7. The Lord impressed upon me through that verse that the theme for me in 2015 would be – Be.Brave! 2015 has been full of many HARD challenges that caused me to dare to Be.Brave. and trust Him! Through this scripture memory challenge, I was able to claim His Truth and see, believe and know that the Lord was with me through each and every challenge. And yes, He did give some amazing victories along the way to encourage my faith!
Thank you Beth for this amazing challenge! This was the first year I have done this and like you said, those seeds were planted deep in my heart and mind and have not returned void. How fitting that the Lord would have me end the year on this verse! He is restoring, has made me strong, firm and steadfast! Hallelujah and Amen! I can hardly wait for 2016!
Final verse:
“And the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will Himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. To HIM be the power for ever and ever. Amen”
I Peter 5:10-11 NIV

It has been amazing how God has revealed each verse
and it’s meaning to me. I have drawn on the verses many
times through the year. As I look back over my verses
they all fit together. At the time I chose them I wasn’t really
thinking about fitting them together. So awesome.
The word has become my lifeline. Thanks so much
I am so looking forward to doing it in 2016.

Hebrews 10:23-25 NIV
“Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”
Isaiah 55:12a (NKJV)
[12] “For you shall go out with joy,
And be led out with peace;
There have been many times this year that I’ve wished to add testimony of how the Lord has led me to a SSMT Verse that has helped me deal with daily life, given me direction, and have a good attitude. Yet nothing comes to mind to share except where I am now: my husband and I have been praying when he should retire; the Holy Spirit has surprised us (& given confirmation) with an answer – Jan 30, 2016. Though the Lord’s answer is exciting and we have His peace, their is fear creeping in of the future: the dramatic cut in paycheck and the unknown of what this new chapter of our lives will bring. So Beth, when you read in Isa 55 about going out in Joy & Peace, it touched my heart; The Lord is in control of our future and will accomplish what He pleases in our lives, so I will purpose to walk in His Joy & Peace!

I thank God every time I remember you. Philippians 1:3 NIV
I have rarely had my entries in on time and even didn’t enter a couple of them, but I was always looking for a positive and delightful verse. I have been attacked over the last 18 months like I never thought possible. God has blessed me through it all. I have not come out of the darkness and hope that this next year will end the depression and dispair I feel. This is a wonderful journey and yearn to walk in joy and peace again.
In the midst of the turbulent times in which we live, His word has brought peace over and over. I depend on His word more every year.

This has been an incredible experience. I struggle to memorize and I doubted that I could do it, but I wanted to try! Even though all the words are not correct, the Scriptures have deeper meaning and come to mind often. I am amazed at how the Lord used this discipline in my life. I plan to continue in the coming year. I am excited to see what the Lord leads me to next in the Word! Thank you Beth for doing this! It has blessed me greatly. May the Lord bless you abundantly, and continue to lead you in ministry.

Oops. Listened to Beth’s video post after posting my final verse(s). In reviewing my verses for the year I noticed that the year began with verses about overcoming fear and then moved on to peace of mind and dwelling in safety and security to finally verses of joy and gladness and rejoicing. There has been a progression in the verses and also throughout the year I have listened repeatedly to Believing God and Breaking Free on an MP3 player during my lunch hour at work while quietly doing cross stitch embroidery. The indwelling Word truly transforms.

I made the commitment for this year’s SSMT with 4 beloved family members. I am so grateful that I made it to the end! Each scripture has fit my circumstances or purpose at the time I made the choice. I do not have all the scriptures memorized, but they are deep within me. What a blessing! Thank You, Jesus!

My heart so easily wanders to other things or people to provide hope of deliverance from pain and trials, so I am thankful for the storehouse of verses to remind me of the truth that God is my salvation – past, present and future! In this season when our culture seems to be counting down to Star Wars more than to Christmas my heart says, “Help me, Jesus, You’re my only hope.”

I never would have memorized 24 verses in a year without the encouragement and drive from this community. You have pushed me to dwell outside my comfort box and reach out to other women as well and share my faith and walk with our Father this year. May each of you continue to be blessed and be a blessing to others and continue on your path growing ever closer to OUR Designer and Savior!

I have to say that I have been reading the Bible for years and searching the Scriptures for quite some time but never intentionally committed to memorizing verses. I knew many portions of verses and when someone started a verse I could frequently finish it, but never recite the whole verse. So this has been an accomplishment for me. Thank you for the challenge. I am honored to be called a Siesta!”

“I can do all things through him who strengthens me.”
I haven’t posted very often in the past six months, though I have continued to do my cards and attempt to memorize. This has helped me so much as I have begun counseling for abuse as a child. I have struggled with severe panic attacks and flashbacks and reading through these cards has helped me remember that even though I had three fathers and a mother throw me away, my Heavenly Father, my Abba, will never back out or throw me away. He is always there. For the first time I have been able to memorize scripture. I wish I could make it to the celebration.

This year long project has transformed me!! I can look back and see God’s progress in my heart and know He has drawn me closer to himself through his word. Can’t wait to come to Houston. I needed the structure to push me to do this and the benefits have been and continue to be SO WORTH IT!
