Congratulations!! You did it!!
As we wrap a bow on our SSMT year and prepare for the upcoming Celebration, we want to send along our encouragement to you to continue in this great work. Some of you have already told us you are continuing to memorize on your own, or have even formed your own local teams. We couldn’t be happier to hear it!
Beth and LPM will plan to see you right back here next Jan 2017 to link arms together to hide God’s Word in our hearts. He is worthy!

I can’t believe the year is coming to a close! I want to thank you all for doing this. I was really blessed with Beth’s talk quite a few months ago about using this to memorized blocks of Scripture. I hadn’t even thought of learning just one verse every other week towards a block. I had marked Isaiah 43:1-7 as something that was precious to me. So I knew right away I wanted to tackle that. Thank you for that idea! I’m already thinking ahead to next year. For some reason most of my verses this year were from the Old Testament, so next year I’ve been thinking to have all my verses be the Words of Jesus.
I’m not able to make it to the siesta party. I hope you all have a wonderful time!
God Bless you all!

This year I was pregnant with twins, miscarried and almost died myself. The love of God and the scripture in my memory sustained me during this extremely painful year.

This is my first SSMT and I am as excited as I was when I first saw Beth’s video blog on 1 January 2015! Looking back at my memory verses they were a mixture of (1) me acknowledging and allowing God to direct my path, (2) what to pray, and (3) know that God’s armor is always on me, slightly dinged but definitely always on! All of my memory verses comforted me and helped me grow on my spiritual walk with God. Thank you Living Proof Ministries!!!

My 2015 has seen extreme highs and extreme lows with a lot of middle ground. Focusing on God’s word has been a blessing. I already know that through January 11, 2016, I will face studying and taking a comprehensive exam; I know that family members face major health issues; on the positive, I also know we will celebrate as a family as my nephew graduates from high school. All that to say, it looks like my new scripture habit needs to continue for 2016 so that I remember when problems arise to focus on the problem solver; and when wonderful events need to be celebrated, I should focus on the ultimate party planner. All praise goes to God!
“The grace of the Lord Jesus be with God’s people. Amen.”

Isaiah 55:11 GNT
The verses that I have worked on burying deep in my heart have been a beautiful reminder to me of God’s very real presence in my life. My verses have had a common thread of hope, to remind me that God’s perspective, not mine, is truth & therefore I have hope! Today’s verse is perfect to remind me (especially in my role as a pastor’s wife) to not lose hope even though the fruit from years of planting seeds seems so scant. I can rest in this truth, HIS purposes WILL be fulfilled! He is worth far more than all we pour out! Thank you for cheering me on! You’ve all been a blessing!

It has been a year of happiness, sorrow, joy, worry, peace, a little chaos and then calmness. Through it all I have learned to love Jesus more. He doesn’t ever let go of us. He know us best and understands us when no one else does. I need Him and absolutely must depend on Him everyday. He gives me strength and keeps me steady! He is my Friend, my Father, my Security, and my God. I’d like to finish up this year with Hebews 4:12 ESV. It is just so powerful!

WooHoo…Committing to SSMT was a challenge to me. I struggle to remember where I park my car sometimes, but I asked God to help me with this SSMT project. I can truly day He is Faithful! Not only did I make it to the end but He helped me each time to learn my verse and retain them.

What a blessing to journal the events of my year through scripture.
I have enjoyed memorizing scripture this year. I have been wanting to do this for a long time . You encouraged me each month to stay committed to learning the scripture. You helped me accomplish my goal of learning scripture. The scripture I learned each month help me in my daily life Thank you!

I have loved this journey! Thank you Beth and LPM for this accountability. I am so thankful for God’s word. Memorizing scripture keeps me wanting more and searching for what God’s word says regarding my circumstances and for whatever season of life I’m in. I praise You O Lord my God. This opportunity to participate in SSMT has been a blessing for me. In November 2013, my husband of 36 years was diagnosed with stage 4 Glioblastoma brain cancer at the age of 64. He had only retired in May, 2011, after a forty year career in the military as a helicopter pilot. This came out of nowhere to a very disciplined, healthy Army officer. We mostly spent the rest of 2013, in the hospital receiving treatment to manage my husband’s symptoms, as the brain tumor was inoperable. In 2014, I spent lots of time in God’s precious Word. I never returned to my teaching position as an elementary school teacher. Jeff and I had to give up our Sunday School responsibilities at our church’s preschool. We worked only on helping him fight the Goliath brain cancer for the next almost 16 months. When I read of the SSMT for 2015, I knew God had meant for me to take part in this group. The verses God illuminated for me to memorize were amazing. In March 2015, my sweet, faithful husband went straight from my arms into the arms of our Lord Jesus. I had learned Philippians 2:13 “For it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure” just two weeks before. I know our God had worked mightily in my husband’s life. Our children and I have been recipients of God’s work in Jeff, and our Father has blessed us so. I miss my husband desperately, yet I know we will see each other again because of God’s gift to us of His one and only Son, our Lord Jesus! How amazing our God is! We know Jesus lives and He has made a way for us to spend eternity with Him. Love to all the SSMT, Beth, and all the folks at LPM. Merry Christmas!
Kathy
May God bless and comfort you in these days of walking closely to Him as you miss your dear husband. I pray for comfort and joy for you this Christmas.

Maybe it is the craziness of Christmas holidays or my fifty-one year old brain, but I had lost track of time and am shocked we are done for the year!!! Actually, even a bit sad…I have LOVED memorizing God’s word with you and even walked through losing my father in June by memorizing God’s promises of salvation and security when we lose a loved one. It was around the same time Beth lost her father-in-law, and I cannot tell you how much your video and sharing of your journey helped me when my father died. That is what siesta scripture has meant for me this year, that I was never alone during a very tough season of life. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! SOOOO WISH I could be with you in January, but I will be smiling and thinking of the wonderful time I have had this year with all of you due to this blog!
