Congratulations!! You did it!!
As we wrap a bow on our SSMT year and prepare for the upcoming Celebration, we want to send along our encouragement to you to continue in this great work. Some of you have already told us you are continuing to memorize on your own, or have even formed your own local teams. We couldn’t be happier to hear it!
Beth and LPM will plan to see you right back here next Jan 2017 to link arms together to hide God’s Word in our hearts. He is worthy!
I have previously posted my verse but just now was able to watch Beth’s fun video. I’m so grateful for this scripture memory club! It has been such a great blessing this year in so many ways! I cannot list them all but wanted you to know about a particularly dreadful day in July when God used my little scripture book to hold me upright. I’m telling you that the excruciating stress I and my family were under has been so heart wrenching and it came to a particular point one Friday. You don’t really need to know what all was happening (not sure it would really bless you to know the details). Suffice it to say I was in such emotional pain that I felt I could not breath. My chest was so tight. I was nauseous about what I was about to face. I was was in a terrible state. My sweet husband came and picked me up from work and drove me to where we needed to go. This took a little over an hour to drive so I pulled out my little book and let God’s Word wash over me as I began to read through my verses (I take my little book everywhere). By the time we got there I had relief and was able to breath. I believe He transformed me physically that day because of the soothing power of His Word. I wish I could describe that day better so you would know just how much that little collection of scriptures meant to me. I have never memorized scripture like this before but I so wish that I had. Thank you, thank you, thank you. And God’s richest blessings on you! I plan on starting a new little book in 2016 (I asked for one for Christmas-)

He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us again. On Him we have set our hope that he will continue to deliver us. 2 Corinthians 1:10 NIV
I was afraid to join because I wasn’t sure if I’d make it through this year memorizing verses. I actually had a plan for the year but this was a chance to be part of something bigger. It seemed way cooler. I said go for it anyway and I failed. I realize that I forgot to do what God and I said I would do. I realize it’s okay to just be happy with God and me. Our plans are cool too. I don’t need to second guess myself. I don’t need to let fear control my life. I can take courage from Him and let Him lead me… good bye fear. Hello FAITH. I’m happy to say I have a little spiral notebook of some scriptures that are going to bring me through some stuff.

Sherry, you and I met through this blog….having no idea we lived only miles from each other. We became such good friends & attended the very first Scripture Memorization Event together & the second. I’m very sad that we don’t get to go this time. I will forever be grateful to LPM for the amazing teaching I’ve received through Beth & for the encouragement to memorize Scripture. I’ll forever have that picture in my mind of you and I reciting Psalm 139 to each other in Houston in Jan. 2010. Have a blessed 2016!

I know this is late but I did not want to miss my final 2015 entry. I made it.
The Bible Verses have been such a comfort for me as a worrier. (not to be confused with warrior, although I am working on that as well) God has so many verses about Not worrying, they now just come to me when I need them. Thank you.

Stunned to find myself at the finish line! And what delightful companions along the way! I did not plan or anticipate the incredible significance this little challenge would fill my life with. I can’t say it enough… What A Blessing! The details of my life confine me to my home, where much is lost by way of the benefits of the body of Christ. Here however, this computer challenged God chaser, was able to become a part of something bigger than herself; a team. Strangers across the continents, family by The Blood, I was able to fill the hollowness of isolation with two powerful weapons! Community! & The Word! I gotta say, I knew the first one to be crucial but the second one was breath taking… literally. His Word takes away our breath and replaces it with His own. Dried ink on a thin piece of dead tree, miraculously moved from text to the living breath of God. I had No idea! The only explanation for the new thoughts in my mind, the new confidence in my heart or the surge of ability to “be who I can not be” must be His Word, “active and living in me”. Astonishing! Thank You Living Proof.

#24!!!
“He is your constant source of stability; he abundantly provides safety and great wisdom; he gives all this to those who fear him.” Isaiah 33:6 NET
Sorry I’m several days late getting this last verse posted. The 15th came and went & I didn’t have a verse. Just this morning I was looking through my BIble heading to Jeremiah and saw these words I had written at the top of Isaiah 33: “He is your constant source of stability.” I knew immediately this was my 24th verse. There have been several huge changes in my life the past couple of years. One of the major changes was losing my dad last January, who was also my pastor. I’ve never been one who handles change very well & just the way the world is in general has had me a bit discouraged. Even some of the Christians I am associated with are not at peace with one another and there is conflict among them. I’m weary of the meanness in the world etc. When I saw this verse this morning it was a reminder that God is my ONLY source of stability. Like the NIV says “He will be the sure foundation for your times…” I’m thankful that in these uncertain times we have God’s Word to lean on and the verses I have memorized each month have helped me so often. I’m thankful for Beth and for LPM for the sound teaching & for the encouragement you give us. I’m so very sad that I don’t get to attend the event this year. I’ve attended the past two & will miss it so much! I already have my new memorization book planned for 2016. God bless each of you as we head into the new year. Remember, “He is your constant source of stability!!”
Thank you Valerie for your words of encouragement, how God is our Foundation, He is our source in this every changing world! God Bless you in this New Year!

Proverbs 2:1-6 ESV
My daughter, if you receive my words and treasure up my commandments with you,
making your ear attentive to wisdom and inclining your heart to understanding;
yes, if you call out for insight and raise your voice for understanding,
if you seek it like silver and search for it as for hidden treasures,
then you will understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of God.
For the LORD gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding;
He stores up sound wisdom for the upright; He is a shield to those who walk in integrity.
Thank you!
