Congratulations!! You did it!!
As we wrap a bow on our SSMT year and prepare for the upcoming Celebration, we want to send along our encouragement to you to continue in this great work. Some of you have already told us you are continuing to memorize on your own, or have even formed your own local teams. We couldn’t be happier to hear it!
Beth and LPM will plan to see you right back here next Jan 2017 to link arms together to hide God’s Word in our hearts. He is worthy!

See if there is any offensive way in me; lead me in the every lasting way. Psalm 139:24 HCSB
Doing the SSMT has just been awesome it was my first time doing it with yinz. I memorized Psalms 139 it is such an eye opening chapter it let me know that God is with me He created me and knows me very well. He is so great and no matter how much I could try I won’t be able to figure his ways out. I was able to even use some of the verses in a prayer to a friend that is going to have a baby in a few months.

justice, wickedness was there. Ecclesiastes 3:16b NLT
I have done SMV alongside Beth since the beginning on her blog and know His Word is Life and will continue this discipline as long as I am alive, plan to anyway!
This past year has been especially great as I am memorizing the chapter on seasons for everything and realizing how very important and vital each season is in our lives. Here is a poem I penned a few years back on the Sword of the Lord and am so thankful for all Beth has done in my life to help me mature in my Christian walk.
The Sword of the Lord
When life’s battles engulf us,
When the prowling lion has roared.
We can confidently gain victory,
When we weld the sword of the Lord!
We must don our spiritual armor,
And boldly march forward.
Allow it to defend devilish ploys,
And attack with the sword of the Lord!
The Word is living and active,
Into our hearts His love is poured.
By His Holy Spirit which He’s given us,
We are empowered with the sword of the Lord!
God’s Word protects us from Satan’s snares,
The enemy attacks easily when the Word is ignored.
Allow Him to fight your battles for you,
Be strong and courageous with the sword of the Lord!
Expect victory over life’s battles,
When His Word, hidden in your heart, are stored.
It will illuminate your footsteps and pathways,
You’ll be a conqueror with the sword of the Lord!
We are called to live in victory,
For we are His ambassadors to others in this world.
Let’s fight the good fight for and with each other,
With a tight grip on “our” sword of the Lord!
For the Word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword. Hebrews 4:12a(NIV)

I shall not die, but I shall live, and recount the deeds of the Lord .

The reason I chose this verse is, because I have not just committed to memorizing these verses for this year or the next, but to be completely committed to God in his word and in my walk of faith.

This has been a wonderful journey! I can still remember watching the video of Beth showing us how to assemble our spirals! It seems like yesterday and here we are with our last verse in December! I thought it was a special day when I chose my verse this morning. But I didn’t get to watch the video until tonight! Thank you, Beth, for celebrating with us! I wish I could throw some of that colorful confetti too! But it was great watching you do it! Thank you also for the special blessing! Indeed our Sovereign LORD chooses our verses to accomplish His will in our lives! I am so grateful for every verse He’s given me this year! And I’m so thankful for your ministry, Beth! I saw you in Atlantic City (watermarked!) and our Women’s Bible Study is doing Esther in January! Very excited! So glad to have been a part of SSMT this year! May God continue to use you to bless others!

“No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.”
I don’t think anything calms my anxious thoughts down more than meditating on and reciting Scripture. My verses throw the dark curtains of my mind back so that I can see the light of God’s love, care, and presence. And that changes everything. There’s a song that says, “when I close my eyes, no darkness there; there’s only light.” That’s what God does for me through Scripture. The light of His Word burns away the dark in me.
My last entry this year:
Joni, Port Neches, TX. “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Is. 9:6, ESV AMEN!

But when the set time had fully come god sent His son born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those under the law that we might receive adoption to Sonship.
This has been a true challenge this year even with calendar reminders to get the scripture post the scripture and work on memorizing the scripture. I can see the growth in myself from memorizing God’s Word. I’m very thankful for the Siesta Sisters!
“Blessed be God because He has not rejected my prayer or removed His steadfast love from me.”

What a great joy and privilege to make this journey, do this together! I have my verses 2011-2015 on 3×5 cards, on big rings….to review, add the new ones the 1st and 15th of every month. They are the content of my prayers…cries of my heart. I’m thrilled and humbled by what He is teaching me, speaking in me, to me…often thru me as I have opportunity to share with others. I already have most of my verses for 2016 picked out. Thanks Siestas for sharing your hearts…thanks Beth and team for equipping us saints for ministry. Looking forward to dancing on those golden streets together, casting our crowns at His feet.

Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid. This year held many personal changes and transitions. My husband made a drastic career change, we relocated our family to a new town, we adopted a precious newborn baby boy, and then also found out I am carrying our third child, due next year! The SSMT scripture memorization has truly brought the scriptures to the forefront of my mind and heart as a solid foundation, during the joys AND the challenges. I particularly appreciated the encouragement toward learning a *section* of scripture. I’ve loved learning all 24 verses, but the chunks of Ephesians 5 and Romans 8 I worked on have become treasures to me. Ephesians 5:15-21 has guided the my day-to-day steps and attitude as a stay-at-home mom, and Romans 8:14-25 has blown my mind with God’s overarching sovereign plan for all of humanity and each one of us; the Lord truly used the adoption and impending childbirth in my life to bring the section alive for me, and I have gained so much HOPE and PEACE as a result.
Thank you SO much to Beth, the leadership at LPM, and all you Siestas for your faithfulness and encouragement! This has been my first year of SSMT, but with God’s help it will not be my last! Much love in Christ <3

This group has been a blessing, my friends, who motivate me and encourage me. I’ve focused on verses about hope this whole year…what a blessing. I’m in a new town caring for an elderly relative and missing family and friends. It’s been a good time of growing even though it’s not all been easy. I am learning to be joyful in hope in Him.

I was blessed to join this journey for the first time. Scripture memory work difficult, but enjoyable. Thank you, Beth Moore, for this ministry. I am looking forward to celebrating in Texas in January, even though I am attending by myself. My friends doing this Scripture memory can not come.

Thank you Beth and all you team members. This is my 3rd year of scripture memorization (two times with y’all and on my own during the in between year). I really don’t know how I could have gotten through these past three years without this abiding, steadfast, miraculous, and loving Word written on my heart and in my soul. Thank you for your dedicated encouragement. You are a blessing and joy to my life. Can’t wait to see you next month!
