Thanksgiving is just days away, Sisters! Since this particular holiday, like no other on our annual calendar, centers almost entirely around a meal, it brings a whole passel of us to the kitchen. So, your friends here at Living Proof thought we would have some fun with you by wrapping up a few fabulous items for the family feast.
We have prepared two identical baskets, enabling us to do a random drawing of TWO WINNERS among the commenters to this post. That’s all you have to do to enter. Just leave one comment and on Thursday morning, we’ll close the comments and draw our two winners and announce their names at the top of this post.
The goodies from these baskets contain items from the two largest kitchen stores in Houston: Williams-Sonoma and Sur la Table. When it comes to cooking, it doesn’t get better than that. [You will see each item in a separate picture so you can get a good look at them.] I so hope the baskets end up in the hands of a couple of women who could really stand to feel a little extra-special right now or perhaps are on such a tight budget that these items would feel like a fantastic splurge. I’m looking today for entries of some women who’d slap the table with joy over ending up with these. You are all so loved and esteemed here at Living Proof and you are valuable beyond price or description to the Kingdom of Christ.

My family will be gratefully spending Thanksgiving together having come through a year of cancer survival, a serious blood clot resolved and a successful open heart surgery. We are grateful for the present reality that we are all still together… but also that even when we enter the next phase of glory … we will be together for eternity!

I LOVE Thanksgiving. It is my favorite time of the year because I get to “turn loose” in my kitchen and cook everything my children and grandchildren love to eat.

This year will be (nearly) our first Thanksgiving in the US. My husband Daniel and I are French from France and we have been missionaries overseas for many years (Ecuador and Ivory Coast). We moved from France to Fairfield Glade, TN, a few months ago to be close to our son Oliver, his wife Rachel and their four young children. They are building a retreat center for missionaries called EdenRidge. I am attending a women’s Bible study and we are in the midst of “Children of the Day”. We are around fifty ladies from different churches. I have done all of Beth’s Bible studies, either in Jackson, TN, where our family used to live, with a few friends in Normandy, France or alone. Thank you so much Beth and the whole LPM team for your wonderful ministry.

We are a family of seven children and now one got married Nov 7th and the other will get married on Nov 29th. God has supplied food on our table every year so now I need to pray for a little more.

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays! We have much to be thankful for. A year ago, on Thanksgiving weekend, my husband had a heart attack while we were visiting our son and his wife in Philadelphia. I am thankful to still have him here with us. This Thanksgiving we will have one empty chair, our son-in-law, 1Lt Graham Reeder, who is serving in Afghanistan.
Melanie, my son is in Afghanistan also. I will add Graham, your daughter & your family to my prayer list of soldiers.

Today is my 3rd day back to work from maternity leave. I would love to receive a gift that focuses on one of my favorite things to do. COOK. While I was home, it was great and fulfilling to have dinner ready at night. Now all I want to do is snuggle with my baby when I get home.

Thanksgiving will be extra special this year, as this summer I was in the hospital after getting very ill and becoming unresponsive and having to be sedated and in ICU for 4 days and then transferred for rehab at a nursing home for 4 weeks. With ll that being said…family is everything!!!!!
