LET YOURSELF FEEL THE HOLY NOD OF GOD THIS WONDERFUL DAY, MY BELOVED SISTER.
YOU HAVE DONE SOMETHING THAT HE ESTEEMS AS TREASURE BEYOND PRICE.
HE HAS LISTENED INTENTLY EVERY TIME YOU’VE SAID A VERSE OUT LOUD AND RECOGNIZED THE SOUND OF YOUR VOICE WITH DEEP AFFECTION.
HE HAS BEHELD YOUR RADIANT FACE, DAUGHTER OF GOD, AND FOUND YOU SO LOVELY.
LET YOURSELF HEAR HIS COMMENDATION THIS DAY.
LET HIM SAY “WELL DONE” TO YOU.
Oh, Jesus was so worthy of all this work, wasn’t He, Sister???
You have been a stellar group and you’ve kept to the exact instructions with every single entry, limiting them to the verse alone. This time when you leave your verse, you get to leave a comment with it. Testify! Boast in the Lord! Tell us a specific way God used this year of Scripture memory in your priceless life.

This has been an awesome experience. As I am approaching a scary, uncertain season…having an arsenal of the Word inside of me to recite when I feel anxious has been such a life changer. This scripture in particular will really help during this time! Thanks for the blessing of this ministry. MERRY CHRISTMAS and God bless!!!!

O Lord, our Lord, How majestic is Your name in all the earth! Psalm 8:9. NAS
Beth,
I’m one of the “Siesta Sisters” who slipped. 🙁 I promise I read my Bible every day. I tucked verses away from time to time that I needed for the “next thing” I was facing, but I didn’t accomplish this “Hallelujah Chorus” goal. I’m so thankful for second chances, because this isn’t the first time and it won’t be the last that I “miss the mark” here on earth. Beth, I don’t know if you will read this yourself or not. I’m sure you have a zillion and one things to read and do in life, but if by some chance you do read this, I want to tell you something.
First, thank you. Thank you for truly carrying me through my son’s cancer for several years. I did your Daniel study on a small DVD player in the hospital as he was going through chemo. I remember sitting in the window seat of his room and crying quietly as I had the headphones on and listened to you talk about how some of us are saved “through the fire,” some “by the fire,” and some “in the fire.” I wept wondering how God was working in my life and in Nick’s. Nick passed away in 2008 from brain cancer. I was devastated. I had already lost my baby daughter Adrienne Annabeth to SIDS in 1992. I wrote about Adrienne when your daughter gave birth to her sweet Annabeth, and you visited my blog and left a sweet comment. 🙂
I didn’t think I could go on after Nick died, but you still carried me through the Psalm Bible study and Esther. God used you over and over again in my life. He stil does!!
I have been to so many of your conferences, the most recent one in Charleston, WV! It was awesome! Thank you again!
But I’d love to know if you remember praying over me in Nashville at a minister’s wives’ retreat as I wept on the floor surrounded by my friends, you, and many women in blue vests? You prayed and prayed and then you prophesied that I would be whole? You kissed my heart necklace with Nick’s thumbprint. You told me you would never forget me, but I know deep inside that you meet hundreds of thousands of women, so if you have forgotten I understand. 🙂
I just have to take time today to tell you thank you for being for me what no one else could have been during a such a horrific time in my life. I am forever thankful. In so many ways, you are my minister. 🙂 That may seem crazy, but it is true. As a Sunday school teacher, I have had the opportunity to share your studies with so many women and even men!! I love you!
The other thing I would love for you to know is that I have written my way through my grief, my brokenness, my pain, and my questions. I spend time in the Bible every single day as well as in other books that draw me closer and closer to Him who holds my life together. I have blogged through my grief, and from that I have written a book. Because of you and your passion for sharing God’s healing power, I can say that even in my brokenness I am whole.
It is called Facing Dawn: A Morning Devotional for the Brokenhearted. I would be so honored and humbled to send you a copy if you would like one.
I love you, Beth.
I envision us one day sipping coffee together and sharing stories.
It may be in Heaven, but I do believe it will be happen one day.
Forever thankful for what you mean to me!
Love,
Tammy

Psalm 34:7
The angel of the Lord encamps
round about those that fear Him,
and He delivers them.
What a privilege to memorize and pray the specific Scriptures the Lord gives me each time. I do this while I lay resting for l0 min with heat, or walk for 30 min, or skate or swim. It has kept my mind focused on Him while He renews my mind and my physical body, and I affirm His Scriptures to the need of others- I love to pray them for the sick, the missionaries, my family etc. This has greatly developed my prayer life to trying to always have a heart fully attuned to Him in prayer, and has affirmed to me the Power in Prayer, which is often the only thing I can do to help others.
This verse my last for the year the Lord affirmed through His Providence last week as my 37 yr old son-in-law had emergency open-heart surgery. We are giving all the glory to God each time we share of the experience. I am still clinging to the Promise of Lev.26:19 that “the Lord would bring down the stubborn pride” of my young adult son and the Promise of Jer. 31:17 that “the Lord will bring him back to Himself”.
Amen and Amen!

I could write a story about the blessing 2013 Siesta Scripture Memory has been. God has used it to do all that scripture does: teach, reprove, correct and train in righteousness. He has blessed me with the privilege of having verses come to mind when I’ve needed them and to share while discipling a younger woman and/or encouraging another on their journey. I’ve known the value of scripture memory for over 30 years, but this has brought me back to the joy of pressing on to hide God’s Word in my heart. Thank you! I’m looking forward to 2014 Siesta Scripture Memory!

This has been my first year with the Siesta Memory team. It has been the most rewarding discipline for me. As my husband and I have had opportunities to mentor young married couples, I have been able to quickly share a verse so appropriate for the occasion and see people respond to the Word meant for them. I know the Lord guided my choices, and the opportunities have been incredible. I am almost 67 years old and so many of my friends say they can’t memorize. I am here to testify the Holy Spirit will impart those words on our hearts and minds if we just choose to do it. Thank you, Beth, for your encouragement to memorize. I will not stop.

God has guided me monthly to the verses which I’ve worked on memorizing, and I know that he personally selected each one to help me grow to be closer, stronger in Him, in His Son, Jesus. Spending time memorizing verses means spending time pondering and allowing them to truly affect my life instead of just reading a verse and thinking, “Oh. That’s a good verse.” I’ve been able to apply them to my daily thoughts and actions. I’ve also spent more time studying and cross referencing the verses I’ve memorized. This has encouraged much growth in me this year!

My verses written on index cards have traveled in my car with me for the past year as my “go to” radio station. Before the radio goes on, I go through each each verse out loud stumbling with where it is found!!…by the 24th verse you can truly see where the cry/ache of my heart has been. Thank you for spearheading the scripture memory, Beth! I don’t think I’d do it otherwise.
As to how the Lord has used it, I began this year entangled in a difficult family relationship. I needed to let go of most of that relationship. ( Due to other family obligations, cannot completely remove myself yet). The Lord reassured me and strengthened me through the Word, such as ” forget the former things, do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up, do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” Isaiah 43:19. That has born itself out to be so true. As I backed out of most of that toxic relationship, He has brought a new , much less co- dependent, tone in my life.
