YOU HAVE DONE SOMETHING THAT HE ESTEEMS AS TREASURE BEYOND PRICE.

HE HAS BEHELD YOUR RADIANT FACE, DAUGHTER OF GOD, AND FOUND YOU SO LOVELY.
LET YOURSELF HEAR HIS COMMENDATION THIS DAY.
LET HIM SAY “WELL DONE” TO YOU.

“Fear not for I have REEDEMED you, I have called you by name, you are MINE!”. –
Isaiah 43:1 (ESV)
It was not even a year ago that I finally gave my life to Christ and by that I mean laid everything at the feet of Jesus my King. I have had struggles of many kinds come across me as I have pressed into Jesus with all I am. One of my memory verses was from Romans 6:14 “Sin shall have no dominion over you, for you are not under the law but under GRACE” it was that verse that kept me going, that verse that I sang loudly when the devil was tempting me and that verse that reminded of also of Luke 1:45 (another of my memory verses): “Blessed is she who believed there would be fulfillment of what had been spoken to her by the Lord” and those two truths (among with the other verses I memorized) were spoken over my life daily as I left my house to go out to work and school. Those verses propelled me to do better and to love Jesus with all I am.
Thank you Beth Moore for taking time our of your life to press into Jesus by investing in our lives. I am forever grateful to you.

This is my third time with the SSMT and for me, it was the hardest because of “other” things happening in my everyday life. That said, it was almost the most needed. When I was about to cease entering my verses, God just kept nudging me along and I’m so thankful He kept at me. VERY fruitful for me this year!

“He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.” Psalm 147:3 KJV
When I began this in January, I could not have fathomed that our family would be searching for a new church home by July. We have suffered through an extremely hurtful experience this year, but God has spoken to my heart so faithfully as I have spoken His Word over and over throughout this year. I am so thankful to have His Word hidden in my heart, and to have the assurance that His purpose is being accomplished!

I have read your blog for many years and have done almost all your Bible studies, but this is the first year I have been a part of the Scripture Memory Team and I have loved every moment, every Scripture that God led me to and the sheer joy of being with so many that were “gathered in His name.

My memory verses have kept me anchored to my God this year. I’ve not had a healthy year, and for the first time since doing Siesta Scripture Memory, I couldn’t be as faithful as I’d of liked in reviewing them, but I was encouraged every time I got the chance.
I love you, Beth, and thank you for your encouragement throughout this difficult year through your blogging, videos, and Bible studies. 🙂

The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion—to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor.

So we keep on praying for you, asking our God to enable you to live a life worthy of His call. May He give you the power to accomplish all the good things your faith prompts you to do.
2 Thessalonians 1:11 NLT
This is my second year participating with SSMT. Last time i chose longer passages and broke them into smaller bites for each memorization time. This year i decided to let the Spirit lead me to the verse(s) i should memorize-those that spoke to a need i had. He has been faithful. Many verses reminded me of how He is with me or how He helps me or something He is stressing in my life as something to hold on to. Thanks for this opportunity to walk this journey together. I’ll miss the community next year but i’m already on board for 2015. God bless!

Proverbs 30:8-9 (NLT)
First, help me never to tell a lie.
Second, give me neither poverty or riches!
Give me just enough to satisfy my needs.
For if I grow rich, I may deny you and say, “Who is the Lord?”
And if I am too poor, I may steal and thus insult God’s holy name.
And in French:
Proverbes 30:8-9 (BDS)
Garde-moi de dire des paroles fausses ou mensongeres,
ne me donne ni pauvrete ni richesse;
accorde-moi seulement ce qui m’est necessaire pour vivre,
Car dans l’abondance, je pourrais te renier et dire:
Ou bien, presse par la misère, je pourrais me mettre a voler et deshonorer ainsi mon Dieu.
This is the third year that I have memorized verses with other Siestas. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been in Bible study, and one of the verses I’d worked on was just the right one to shed light on our discussion. And God brings verses to mind when I need them personally as well. This discipline helps all of us as we seek to “be transformed by the renewing of your mind” as Romans 12:2 says. During the even years, when we don’t memorize individual verses, I work on larger passages of Scripture. Last year I memorized James, Philippians, and Psalm 139; next year I hope to conquer I and II Thessalonians and Colossians. It’s my life goal to memorize all the shorter New Testament books and chapters from the longer books; I’m 66 so I need to be intentional about it now. Thank you, Beth, for this ongoing challenge!
What an encouragement you are about Scripture memorization. Thank you for sharing.
Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.

What a joy this has been. I did it with a girlfriend from whom I moved away and this has been such a sweet connection to share and keep us close and accountable. We’re both looking forward to memorizing a chapter of the Bible next year. Thanks SO much for the encouragement and leadership! Praise God for his Word and that it does NOT return void!!!

“Let all who seek You rejoice and be glad in You; And let those who love Your salvation say continually, “Let God be magnified.”‘Psalm 70:4 NASB
I love you too, Siesta Mama Beth, hugs always to you:) God has used this year of Scripture memory to help me in many ways: through the transition of having one child to having two, to help me keep my mind on things above, to help me be able to cultivate more patience and love for my family, how to deal with the stresses of my life, and to show me where I’ve needed to confess sin in my life-and for that I am very grateful! Nearness to Him is my definite good…and I NEED to stay in His Word. I don’t like what I am capable of becoming when not in His Word and being transformed by the renewing of my mind. An unhappy, unforgiving, touchy, and fretful person; soo not good! These memory Scriptures are very important. I am blessed by being a part of the Scripture Memory group this year for sure:)
He says ” Be still and know that I am God . I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted on the Earth.”

And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.
This year of scripture memory has been transformational for me! It prepared me to take a giant step of faith and decide to transition from being an employee at a very secure job to being an independent business coach and trainer as of January 1. This change will give me the time to work with churches and complete a book on interpersonal conflict resolution that God has put in my spirit. I have marinated in these God-appointed verses all year which gave me the courage to obey the voice of the Lord. When Beth came to Sioux Falls in August, her message to let God orchestrate my mission and not strong arm the Lord’s plans has reverberated in my spirit as God has asked me to look with my spiritual eyes rather than at the circumstances that told me I was crazy to leave such a secure job. I have experienced firsthand how living and active the Word of God is. God is so good!

“I love you, O Lord, my strength.”

This verse says it all! He has been my strength through this very difficult year! I love Him so much for carrying me through the storm when I became so weary! He is worthy to be praised! His Word has comforted me all year and I will forever hide it in my heart! Thank you for encouraging us to seek Jesus always! I love Him more today than I ever have! Isn’t He just so easy to love? 🙂

“And see if there be any hurtful way in me; And lead me in the everlasting way.” Psalms 139:24 NASB
The 139th Psalms describes the way of life for the believer from conception through eternity. 24 verses sums up the whole of life. I must say like my siesta Sheryl from Pennsylvania “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland.” IS 43:18-19 To God be the glory great things He hath done!

You are my lamp, O LORD; the LORD turns my darkness into light.
II Samuel 22:29. NIV
Although I claimed all of these verses throughout the year, Hebrews 12:1&2 were used specifically when I was asked to give my testimoony (for the first time) to a large group of women who had similar circumstances to mine. I never had to think about doing it. I KNEW God wiould prove Himself faithful to give me all the words I needed.
Redfield, AR
Colossians 1:13 (RSV)
[13] He has delivered us from the dominion of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son,
When I picked this last verse it made me cry, glad that I am NOT in the dominion of darkness but Jesus’s kingdom of light; even though this year has been a hard (dark) year for me : painful, limiting and sometimes depressing, due to a back injury. The memory verses have been a light shining into that darkness–a great encouragement to me–not only the Word itself but also the timing of the verses that the Holy Spirit has led me to pick, showing that God is involved in my life intimately. He really cares and is to be praised, which brings me full circle to my first verse of the year Ps 103:1 “Bless The Lord, O my soul; And all that is within me bless His holy name!”
Karen, I feel your pain. May the Lord heal you inside and out and encourage you with His great love.
