I AM SO PROUD OF YOU I COULD DO TEN CARTWHEELS!!!!!

LET YOURSELF FEEL THE HOLY NOD OF GOD THIS WONDERFUL DAY, MY BELOVED SISTER.

YOU HAVE DONE SOMETHING THAT HE ESTEEMS AS TREASURE BEYOND PRICE.

HE HAS LISTENED INTENTLY EVERY TIME YOU’VE SAID A VERSE OUT LOUD AND RECOGNIZED THE SOUND OF YOUR VOICE WITH DEEP AFFECTION.

HE HAS BEHELD YOUR RADIANT FACE, DAUGHTER OF GOD, AND FOUND YOU SO LOVELY.

LET YOURSELF HEAR HIS COMMENDATION THIS DAY.

LET HIM SAY “WELL DONE” TO YOU.

Oh, Jesus was so worthy of all this work, wasn’t He, Sister???

You have been a stellar group and you’ve kept to the exact instructions with every single entry, limiting them to the verse alone. This time when you leave your verse, you get to leave a comment with it. Testify! Boast in the Lord! Tell us a specific way God used this year of Scripture memory in your priceless life.

As I look at my 24 verses written on index cards and taped to my mirror in my bathroom I am amazed and so grateful to The Lord for the journey of this past year and the verses that have become so meaningful to me! They have been my structure, my soundtrack, and my undergirding! Some of them are not as solidly engrained in my memory as I would like, but I will continue to work on them. Praise God for his Word that is living and active and sharper than a two-edged sword! Hallelujah indeed!!!

I’ve fallen in love with His Word afresh this past year by memorizing it consistently…and God has convicted my heart that He is asking me to keep up this blessed commitment of hiding a verse in my heart very two weeks until I go home.

  14. 464

    Judy Sommerville, Fairmont, MN

Sing to God, sing praise to His name, extol Him who rides on the clouds – His name is the Lord – and rejoice before Him. Psalm 68:4 (NIV)

This is the first time I have memorized scripture since 40 years ago at summer camp. I am TOTALLY amazed that I actually did it!
I decided to focus mostly on verses that had to do with fear and God’s love for me — two things I struggle with. Oh boy – what a year I had and how I needed to fall back on those verses. My mom had heart problems late summer and I shared a verse with her over the phone when she was in the hospital. Then she had a serious stroke in September. I have prayed those verses for myself and said them to my mom when she was in the hospital. She has squeezed my hand in thanks. She cannot talk, but it’s obvious how God’s word speaks to her. I hope to continue to use these verses to encourage my mom and my dad.
    (See you in January!)

Therefore, we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, lest you become weary and discouraged in your souls. You have not yet resisted to bloodshed, striving against sin. Also, as I haven’t had a church this year, this has been like a women’s group for me. So encouraging to hear Beth’s encouragement in the Lord each time, and to have a sense of Christian fellowship. And I believe that memorizing these Scriptures has been a training for me in being faithful and committed to Him. I can’t believe I finished this time! Glory to Him!

Britt, Burlington, NC. A man’s wisdom gives him patience, it is to his glory to overlook an offense. Proverbs 19:11 NIV. This is the FIRST time I have memorized scripture verses in my life- I am 34. It has been wonderful! At first I had no idea what verse to choose, so I usually memorized Beth’s, but now I am flooded with verses and have a hard time choosing which one. I found myself finding time to practice saying them during time that otherwise would have been wasted: driving or waiting in lines at stores. God bless you Beth and all the staff at Living Proof ministries for bringing this idea to me in a new way… a way that would help me to actually do it!
