LET YOURSELF FEEL THE HOLY NOD OF GOD THIS WONDERFUL DAY, MY BELOVED SISTER.
YOU HAVE DONE SOMETHING THAT HE ESTEEMS AS TREASURE BEYOND PRICE.
HE HAS LISTENED INTENTLY EVERY TIME YOU’VE SAID A VERSE OUT LOUD AND RECOGNIZED THE SOUND OF YOUR VOICE WITH DEEP AFFECTION.
HE HAS BEHELD YOUR RADIANT FACE, DAUGHTER OF GOD, AND FOUND YOU SO LOVELY.
LET YOURSELF HEAR HIS COMMENDATION THIS DAY.
LET HIM SAY “WELL DONE” TO YOU.
Oh, Jesus was so worthy of all this work, wasn’t He, Sister???
You have been a stellar group and you’ve kept to the exact instructions with every single entry, limiting them to the verse alone. This time when you leave your verse, you get to leave a comment with it. Testify! Boast in the Lord! Tell us a specific way God used this year of Scripture memory in your priceless life.

Please forgive this long post. I have been working on this since September but haven’t posted since July:
Ola, Woodbridge, Ephesians 6:1-13
Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.
2 Honour thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise;
3 That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.
4 And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.
5 Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ;
6 Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart;
7 With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men:
8 Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether he be bond or free.
9 And, ye masters, do the same things unto them, forbearing threatening: knowing that your Master also is in heaven; neither is there respect of persons with him.
10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Cory Anna, Atlanta
As I scrolled through my verses memorized on this journey, I am sitting in awe at how many of them are based on seeing The Lord come through on his promises. He has clearly taught me this year that while seeing is believing – it is greater to believe what is not seen and that even more, believing IS seeing! Walking into 2014 BELEIVING and HOPING in HIM. Thank you, LPM for encouraging us in the power of His word! 🙂
Colossians 3:17 NIV

Oh the grace the Lord has allowed me to taste, see, and feel through this year. The power of timely scripture has literally brought me to my knees in grateful, humble peace. What an experience.
Matia, Fort Worth, TX “and let those who love Your salvation say, ‘Let God be magnified’.” Psalms 70:4 NASB I have participated every year in the Siesta Scripture memory exercise and attended all of the prior celebrations, but this year has been the most difficult to keep up even knowing the reward. The key was committing the Word to memory, so with a new baby and a new job within 6 weeks of one another, I went with memorization over timely posting. 🙂 Praise Him for another great year of scripture memory!

Luke 2:14 Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace to men on whom his favour rests.
Julie Elrod, Smyrna, GA: James 5: 16-17 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. Elijah was a man just like us. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years. James 5:18-20 Again he prayed and the heavens gave rain and the earth produced its crops. My brothers, if one of you should wander from the truth and someone should bring him back remember this: Whoever turns a sinner from the error of his way will save him from death and cover over a multitude of sins.
” He guides the humble in what is right

Thank you for providing this avenue of accountability and encouragement. This is my third year to be a part of the Scripture memory team. Although I have not completed memorized each scripture ( my bad!!), they have been food for my soul in a year when I have felt out of balance and exhausted because of work demands. Jesus is so faithful to me and I praise Him for the strength, joy, and favor that He so freely extends to me each and every day. Not only has He poured His goodness on me this year, but His grace and mercy extends to my husband, children, and grandchildren , and for that I am deeply grateful. Praise His Holy Name!
Heidi, I met you the first year and enjoyed our visit so much. I hoped to run into you last time, so this year – I will be on the lookout again. 🙂 Kay G (from Deer Park)

This was my first year doing the bible memory verses and this has definitely blessed me immensely throughout the year!! It is such an awesome way to stay connected to God and to keep His words hidden in our hearts! The Holy Spirit has most definitely guided me in choosing each verse and the Spirit has used those verses in different ways in my life throughout the year (with friends, in bible study, etc)! Thank you so much for this amazing blog and ministry! Love you ladies!! 🙂

This would have been my 3rd SSMTC, but I am heading on a missions trip to Ethiopia/Uganda the first week of February. I was planning on reciting the book of James along with a siesta Charlotte (who I met at SSMTC 2010 and roomed with at SSMTC 2012) who is leaving this week on a missions trip to Guatemala.
Beth and team – Thank you for always drawing us into a deeper relationship with the Lord. I’ll be taking you to Ethiopia/Uganda with me!

Wrap up thoughts: I have enjoyed learning new verses this year. It hasn’t been easy but it’s been so helpful to learn what God is teaching me through my time with Him. I am so grateful for my accountability partner in this journey (mom). Also this has reminded me the importance of Scripture memory (and how much easier it is when you’re younger) so half way through the year, my little girl also started memorizing her own verses (she just turned two a couple months ago). It has been my joy and Christ’s glory that His Word has been hidden in my little one’s heart. A couple of the verses she memorized have now also been memorized by other adults in her life. And thus the gift of hiding His Word in our hearts continues ….
