This year God has reminded me time and time again that He is faithful in the midst of all the busyness of life and that even when we get caught up in the day to day rush, He is there waiting on us to communicate with Him, study His Word, and hide its truths in our hearts.

    James 4:13-17 (NLT)

13 Look here, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we are going to a certain town and will stay there a year. We will do business there and make a profit.” 14 How do you know what your life will be like tomorrow? Your life is like the morning fog—it’s here a little while, then it’s gone. 15 What you ought to say is, “If the Lord wants us to, we will live and do this or that.” 16 Otherwise you are boasting about your own plans, and all such boasting is evil.

17 Remember, it is sin to know what you ought to do and then not do it.

Memorizing James has been such a significant thing. I will hear a keyword or phrase and the verse that contains this will spring to mind. Thank you for the challenge, Beth!

It took me a while to realize that, for this Scripture memory method, I need to pick short verses. They stick a little better, and I can read shorter ones to my two-year old daughter when we eat. She recently started pointing at the notebook and saying “book” if I forget to read it to her. I certainly was not expecting that result when we started this year, but I am thankful for it!

God is sooooo GOOD & Faithful! My heart is overwhelmed by his steadfast love!! It amazes me how He is always with me providing and protecting , especially when I am not even aware yet of my need!!! He began putting the desire on my heart to memorize scripture in the Fall of 2012, then low and behold in December He made me aware of SSMT starting in 2013, not realizing what was ahead in this year! He prepared me for an onslaught of attacks from the enemy! Through this I have come to know the Power of his Word, the Strength in his Word , that HE IS The Word!!! I knew this in my head for many years but it has been written on my heart like nothing I have ever experienced!! The Holy Spirit has brought me the Word with everything in my life this year, even in the smallest details ! Thank you soooo much Beth for your committment this past year to us siesta’s especially with all you are called to do!
