(Drum Roll Please!)
According to our random drawing, the lucky winner is…Gail Denlinger! (Comment posted on March 15, 2012 at 6:40 am.)
Gail, if you would please email me at [email protected] with your mailing address, we will get this Bible in your hands as soon as possible. Congratulations, Sister! Y’all check back next week for another fun giveaway. Have a wonderful weekend!
Update: Comments are now closed. Ladies, y’all are SO incredibly fun. And might I add serious about your Bibles and Bible translations. Praise the Lord! Check back tomorrow morning for the fun announcement of our lucky winner! And while I have your attention, our Siesta Mama actually gets up to speak at the conference for the first time in about 2 1/2 hours (It’s already Friday there). Your prayers would be so appreciated! See you in the morning!
Good Wednesday afternoon, Siestas!
By now you may have seen on twitter (if you’re a twitter user) that Beth and Amanda made it safely to Sydney! Jet lag is no joke there because in case you were wondering, Australia is 16 hours ahead of us. I kept joking that they were flying into the future. Whoa! You honestly would not waste a prayer on them as Beth and the team prepares to minister to the folks attending the Colour Conference. They are so pumped, but it doesn’t come without sacrifice and a lot of work. If you’ve not already been praying, start praying now because since they’re almost a day ahead of us, the conference begins sooner than later!
Anyway, we didn’t want the blog to suffer while our Siesta Mama was gone, so I’m here to do our first fun giveaway! (Yes, we’re doing another one next week. I know you’re pumped!)
I don’t know about you, but I love getting a new Bible.
In fact, just this past Sunday at church I was thinking it was time to put my old one aside and start searching for a new one. True story. I don’t know how much longer it will actually survive as it is literally falling apart (I don’t say that because I’m so spiritual, but more so to prove to you how old it is) and I don’t feel like digging out the duct tape to repair this one. (You know you’ve done it before, too!) Since I’m a creature of habit, I tend to stick with the same study Bible time after time, but I’m feeling kind of rogue and might venture out this time into the land of the unknown.
As much as I love getting a new Bible, there is a certain degree of separation that is hard to part from my old Bible. We’ve been through a lot. And I love looking back at all I’ve underlined and marked up. But I suppose a new season calls for a new Bible.
Anyway, I know you’re probably wondering why I’m going on and on about my Bible, and maybe I’ve convinced you that you need a new one to, to which I’ll say you’ve landed in the right place!
We have a really fun giveaway that I think you’ll like.
Recently our sweet Beth received a Life Essentials Study Bible (“The First Multi-Media Study Bible”) with her name engraved on the front. For those who are curious, the translation is the Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB). Here’s the deal, if our Siesta Mama hadn’t just purchased a new Bible for herself just prior to receiving this one, she would have kept it for herself. It was such a kind gesture from the publisher, but she really wanted to gift it to one our Siestas!
Besides this being a study Bible, it has some other really neat tools that I’ve personally been playing with to make myself familiar with it the past few days.
With our technology changing and updating as quickly as newborn babies change outfits everyday, it’s no shock to me that this Bible has a new addition to it that can be used with your smart phone.
If you look at the front cover (pictured above), and inside the Bible (there’s a little peek below), you’ll see a bar code looking symbol. That nifty little symbol we refer to as a QR code. If you own a smart phone, you can download a free QR Reader app, and then all you do is use that application to scan the bar code to find out more information about that particular item. All throughout this Bible are hundreds of QR codes that take you to a website to find out more information about that particular scripture. How fun is that? You certainly don’t need a smart phone to win this Bible, but that’s just a little bonus for those of you that do own one.
So, who is interested? Listen, if it weren’t for you, Siestas, I would have already claimed it for myself.
Here’s how it will work:
1) Leave a comment with your first and last name. If you don’t leave both, you won’t be eligible for the drawing!
2) For fun, if you’re into this kind of thing, go ahead and tell us in brief your favorite Bible. Shout out to all the Precious Moment’s Bible owners out there! I’m pretty sure I still have that one stowed away somewhere safe. What joy!
Ready? Set? Sound off in the comments! We’ll leave the comments open until 3:30 on Thursday afternoon (CST) and then we’ll do a random drawing and post the winner at the top of this post later that day. That means you will have a little over 24 hours to enter, so be on the lookout to see if your name appears!
Although I don’t want to assume everyone is on spring break, I would imagine most of you are, so if that’s the case, we so hope you’re enjoying every minute of it. And if you don’t get that luxury, I’m praying the Lord delights you where you’re at and gives you an extra dose of rest.
We love y’all!
I love having my NIV and King James together. I also like studying with different translations to compare. One that is plain and simple is the New Century version. And John McArthur’s study bible.
May God bless the one who receives the new Bible. It sounds wonderful! And may God also bless all of you for what you do for us! We love you!
Hi!
AnnMarie Irace signing in for this wonderful opportunity. My favorite bible was my first when I was a new Christian. It was a Living Bible and it really helped me to understand God’s word. It is falling apart and marked up and it is still close to my heart but I have moved on to the Thompson Chain Reference Bible – NIV.
My favorite bible is my NIV/Message parallel!
My favorite Bibe is the NIV Study Bible. It has all my highlighting and notes from all the Beth Moore studies I have taken. It started falling apart a few years ago and after much duct taping, it now sits in my bookcase where I can see it and give the Lord praise for how His word broke through my strongholds and set me free!
My favorite bible is my NIV Life Application Study Bible. I’ve had it 10 years and just had it rebound…love it!
My favorite bible is my NIV Life Application Bible. This was my first bible I used with bible studies and I love to look at my highlights and notes that I have written. I actually LOVE all bibles, old and new! My new bible is the NIV Hebrew-Greek Key Word Study Bible that is recommended by Beth. Through bible studies I have developed a passion for knowing all the meanings for the Hebrew and Greek words. Love it! Thanks Beth!
Oh yes, I have that Precious Moments Bible tucked away too. My favorite Bible right now is the ESV Study Bible.
My favorite Bible is the Life Application Study Bible. My husband & I just bought the James DVD Bible Study. We are going to study it together. Can’t wait to get started!
I’m Michelle Stillman and currently am loving my NLT study Bible!
My favorite Bible is the NLT Life Application. LOVE IT!
Lissa Litka – I adore my Kay Arthur study Bible for all the space it offers for note taking!
My favorite Bible is my Max Lucado Devotional Bible. I use it for my Beth Moore studies…currently doing James, which is fantastic! Thank you for the opportunity to win this Bible. God bless you all.
My favorite bible is the one my husband bought me nearly 7 years ago (NIV) version. He had my name engraved on it as well. It got thoroughly broken in rather quickly with a Beth Moore bible study AND my cup of coffee which I was drinking one early morning while studying. So, my bible has those wonderful sounding pages that crinkle when turned and a light brown hue washed over half of them! The pages and sections have given up and are starting to fall out in sections.. but it will be hard to part with the bible I began my first bible studies with.
My favorite Bible is my Women’s Devotional Bible. It, like yours, is really worn and I have had to put it back together. I have written in it, underlined in it, and it is such a part of my life but I need a new one. Today is my birthday and my husband said he wants to get me a new Bible so, now to decide which one.
Jo Ann Roth……..My favorite (and very worn/completely falling apart) Bible is “RECOVERY DEVOTIONAL BIBLE NIV. I also have an old German Bible which was my great grand parents that I treasure.
Stacey Jones
My favorite Bible is a little pink reference Bible that my grandparents gave me in 1993. They gave all of us cousins one that Christmas with our names on it. I still use mine.
Carrie Guion:
How I’d LOVE this Bible. I love any study Bible really. I’m not picky. I don’t own a study Bible right now, so I have to “borrow” my husband and sons. I’d LOVE this one. THX
Mary Heidelberger – my favorite bible is True Identity the Bible for Women – NIV
I just finished the James study in our church and we are all blessed to have Beth and Melissa doing such a wonderful job!!
There are not enough words to express how much the study has meant to me.
So many favorites – NIV Study Bible which I use for Beth’s studies. But one of my favorites is the pew Bible at my old home church which has my dad’s picture inside the front cover. It was done as a dedication after he passed away. Always special to see him whenever I open that Bible!
I have several Bibles, I have different translations and most are study Bibles, I generally go to the NIV version. If I am doing a Bible Study, I will try to use the translation used by the author. I like the Life Application Study Bible and I use the NIV/Message parallel study Bible quite often.
Just reading through your website (1st time ) and thought hey wouldnt be great to have that Bible!
My favorite Bible was a Catholic Bible that I gave away to someone I was witnessing to years ago. I’ve never been able to find the same translation again, but I trust my favorite Bible is right where our Lord wants it to be.
Good morning! My most treasured possession is the KJV red leather Bible that I received from my Mom and Dad for my 6th birthday in 1966! As I was just beginning to read, my parents wanted me to fill my mind, heart and soul with the words of God. I’ve used many different Bibles since, but that one will always be my very favorite.

My favorite Bible for just reading and meditating is the NIV. My favorite for digging in is The Key Word Study Bible. It’s NASB and has key words in the text numerically coded to the NAS Exhaustive Concordance.
Nancy Scott-my favorite Bible is the Life Appplication Study Bible-NIV. Can’t wait to see who wins!
Hi, I have been using my Ryrie NASB Study Bible for years and it is definitely in need of replacement. One of the reasons I have like it is the capitalization of the God pronouns. That can be so helpful sometimes.
Shawn Nichols
Joanna Sigman – My very favorite Bible is “The Jesus Storybook Bible” we read to our kids. What a WONDERFUL way to teach our kids that the ENTIRE Bible is a story all about Jesus.
My favorite Bible is The Nelson Study Bible NKJV. Love, love, love, it!!
My favorite now is my NIV Life Application Bible, though I do still have my very first Bible I received as a child, which is a KJV. I also wanted to tell you that at 37 yrs of age, I just finished my very first women’s Bible study, Beth’s James – Mercy Triumphs. I am officially addicted to Bible study now! Thank you all so much for all you do!
My favorite bible is my NIV Woman’s Devotional, which is worn out with notes, highlights, holy card bookmarkers, and chewed off corners in Genesis and Exodus thanks to a puppy I had years ago! I have a cloth cover with pins all over it that were given to me on mothers day, special friends, and my fav radio station 93.3 in Atlanta, Ga!!!
Although it is worn, Jesus jumps out of the pages at me every day!
Hi I love Bibles, too! My favorite has been the NIV study Bible, but I also am liking the ESV. I love to buy children their first Bible and see their face light up!
Praying for Beth and the rest of the ones at the conference!
Love you all,
Tanya Dudley
Lesley Henry, my favourite Bible is the Life Application Study Bible.
My lifetime favorite would have to be a slimline NIV my husband gave me – MANY years ago – during our first year of marriage. It’s like reading my life story in the notes and underlines!
Kona Brown – my favourite bible is my Spirit Filled Bible that my mom gave me. She’s always been an inspiration to me as a woman who is intense and intentional about studying the bible. I love the Word Wealth bits because I LOVE words! Insidently, this siesta sister is writing to you from sunny South Africa! Lots of Beth fans over here!
Nikki Brungard
NIV Study Bible all the way!
Yes, every bible I have had is truly a treasure, I still have my little white bible my grandfather gave me when I was baptized……..it means the world to me:)
Jackie Beall – I still enjoy the King James because it is what I grew up with and learned my first Bible verses from, but currently use the ESV and like it!
Sue Gibbs – My favorite Bible is the one I’ve used for the last 12 years – Life Application Study Bible – NIV. The margins are a journal of how His Word has sustained me these past 12 years. Would love for this new Bible to become my favorite!
Love the format of this Bible ! I’m currently studying Daniel, also ! This looks lovely ! One siesta will enjoy it bunches ~
My favorite is the Life Application Study Bible, NLT.
Hi, I’m Lee Ann Kaplan. My favorite bible is the Amplified version that I received for Christmas when I was 10, but I most often use the Ryrie Study Bible my dad used when he was living.
What a fun giveaway! My favorite Bible is the NIV Life Application Study Bible.
My name is Judy Rowland and my favorite Bible is the Amplified Bible because it breaks it down for me, and usually when Beth gives the Hebrew or Greek meaning of a word the Amplified has several of the synonyms listed!!
Crystal Stine
My favorite Bible is probably my Message/NIV side-by-side Bible. It’s great to compare translations 🙂 More recently I’ve done most of my Bible reading (at church & at home) on YouVersion!
Barbara Renczkowski-My all time favorite is my NIV Rainbow Study Bible. I think more so because it was the first bible I used when I started at my new church 7 years ago and was baptized as a Christian! My new life started with that bible and it has a lot of notes and dates it in. Every time I used it (for all my Beth Moore bible studies!) whenever I read a verse, I write down the date. Then when I go back to the verse at another time it’s great to see the date and how many times one particular verse you might go back to.
Stacey Sharp – My favorite Bibe is the NIV Study Bible. I’ve had mine for about 20 years! It’s got interesting facts for most verses or passages and was a huge help in college when writing formal inductive Bible study papers.
My favorite is my 6 year old daughter’s Children’s Bible. She chooses the same stories to read over and over. Love to see her as excited over reading the Bible as she is reading other picture books!
My favorite study Bible is the NASB KeyWord Study Bible! I am addicted to looking up the meaning of Greek & Hebrew words!
Andrea Lehman
I grew up on the NIV and learned lots!! The church we now attend uses the NLT and I have found that I equally love this version!!
My favorite Bible…. goodness, I don’t know! I have been thinking about getting a new Bible and this one sounds like a winner!!! Abundant Blessings to all!
