(Drum Roll Please!)
According to our random drawing, the lucky winner is…Gail Denlinger! (Comment posted on March 15, 2012 at 6:40 am.)
Gail, if you would please email me at [email protected] with your mailing address, we will get this Bible in your hands as soon as possible. Congratulations, Sister! Y’all check back next week for another fun giveaway. Have a wonderful weekend!
Update: Comments are now closed. Ladies, y’all are SO incredibly fun. And might I add serious about your Bibles and Bible translations. Praise the Lord! Check back tomorrow morning for the fun announcement of our lucky winner! And while I have your attention, our Siesta Mama actually gets up to speak at the conference for the first time in about 2 1/2 hours (It’s already Friday there). Your prayers would be so appreciated! See you in the morning!
Good Wednesday afternoon, Siestas!
By now you may have seen on twitter (if you’re a twitter user) that Beth and Amanda made it safely to Sydney! Jet lag is no joke there because in case you were wondering, Australia is 16 hours ahead of us. I kept joking that they were flying into the future. Whoa! You honestly would not waste a prayer on them as Beth and the team prepares to minister to the folks attending the Colour Conference. They are so pumped, but it doesn’t come without sacrifice and a lot of work. If you’ve not already been praying, start praying now because since they’re almost a day ahead of us, the conference begins sooner than later!
Anyway, we didn’t want the blog to suffer while our Siesta Mama was gone, so I’m here to do our first fun giveaway! (Yes, we’re doing another one next week. I know you’re pumped!)
I don’t know about you, but I love getting a new Bible.
In fact, just this past Sunday at church I was thinking it was time to put my old one aside and start searching for a new one. True story. I don’t know how much longer it will actually survive as it is literally falling apart (I don’t say that because I’m so spiritual, but more so to prove to you how old it is) and I don’t feel like digging out the duct tape to repair this one. (You know you’ve done it before, too!) Since I’m a creature of habit, I tend to stick with the same study Bible time after time, but I’m feeling kind of rogue and might venture out this time into the land of the unknown.
As much as I love getting a new Bible, there is a certain degree of separation that is hard to part from my old Bible. We’ve been through a lot. And I love looking back at all I’ve underlined and marked up. But I suppose a new season calls for a new Bible.
Anyway, I know you’re probably wondering why I’m going on and on about my Bible, and maybe I’ve convinced you that you need a new one to, to which I’ll say you’ve landed in the right place!
We have a really fun giveaway that I think you’ll like.
Recently our sweet Beth received a Life Essentials Study Bible (“The First Multi-Media Study Bible”) with her name engraved on the front. For those who are curious, the translation is the Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB). Here’s the deal, if our Siesta Mama hadn’t just purchased a new Bible for herself just prior to receiving this one, she would have kept it for herself. It was such a kind gesture from the publisher, but she really wanted to gift it to one our Siestas!
Besides this being a study Bible, it has some other really neat tools that I’ve personally been playing with to make myself familiar with it the past few days.
With our technology changing and updating as quickly as newborn babies change outfits everyday, it’s no shock to me that this Bible has a new addition to it that can be used with your smart phone.
If you look at the front cover (pictured above), and inside the Bible (there’s a little peek below), you’ll see a bar code looking symbol. That nifty little symbol we refer to as a QR code. If you own a smart phone, you can download a free QR Reader app, and then all you do is use that application to scan the bar code to find out more information about that particular item. All throughout this Bible are hundreds of QR codes that take you to a website to find out more information about that particular scripture. How fun is that? You certainly don’t need a smart phone to win this Bible, but that’s just a little bonus for those of you that do own one.
So, who is interested? Listen, if it weren’t for you, Siestas, I would have already claimed it for myself.
Here’s how it will work:
1) Leave a comment with your first and last name. If you don’t leave both, you won’t be eligible for the drawing!
2) For fun, if you’re into this kind of thing, go ahead and tell us in brief your favorite Bible. Shout out to all the Precious Moment’s Bible owners out there! I’m pretty sure I still have that one stowed away somewhere safe. What joy!
Ready? Set? Sound off in the comments! We’ll leave the comments open until 3:30 on Thursday afternoon (CST) and then we’ll do a random drawing and post the winner at the top of this post later that day. That means you will have a little over 24 hours to enter, so be on the lookout to see if your name appears!
Although I don’t want to assume everyone is on spring break, I would imagine most of you are, so if that’s the case, we so hope you’re enjoying every minute of it. And if you don’t get that luxury, I’m praying the Lord delights you where you’re at and gives you an extra dose of rest.
We love y’all!
Cheryl Coy…My favorite is my NIV/The Message Parallel Bible. Whenever I’m reading something, I always have to read both versions…it’s great! Sometimes I memorize in NIV and sometimes in Msg version. The scriptures are underlined with pens or colored pencils or highlighted in different color highlighters (but haven’t found a good non-bleed one yet). I have alot of lined post-in notes on the pages from Bible Studies past that I like to reread often. I recently had to replace my broken Go phone so I just bought a cheap little Android phone and now trying to find a Bible to download and carry during daily commute via bus and train so this new Bible would be fun as I learn how to use my first android.:)
Karla Carlson- My favorite Bible is my NASB because it has notes from over the years, it falls open to my favorite passages and reading it feels like a part of my life and the road the Lord and I have walked together.
Goodness…my Bible was a gift when I first became a Christian. It’s burgundy and an NIV. That lovely book has traveled with me from Seattle to Denver for YWAM, then down through New Mexico to Alcopolco (sp?) and back up through Texas, then after YWAM it went to Indianapolis with me, back home to Seattle, up to Vancouver and over to Sydney (where I got engaged to an Aussie…no joke!), back home to Seattle where we got married, then back to AU for two years and home again since then. It’s beaten, battered, marked up and getting ready to fall apart. Though I feel much like Beth…it’s a part of my body!! Thank you so much for the give-away!
My name is Tara Saloga. I use several different versions but my favorite is my Nkjv study Bible. I also really enjoy my niv life application study Bible.
Kati Wharton – I love my worn out copy of the NIV Women’s Devotional Bible. The binding has given way partially so all of Genesis and part of Exodus falls out when I open it!
My favorite Bible is still Disciple’s Study Bible. Been with me a long time!!
Donna Sava
My favorite is a well-loved NIV. But I started to like the Message when we were memorizing verses last year! Boy do I miss that! I can’t wait until next year!!!
My favorite bible was given to me last year from my spiritual family. It has my name on it just like the image above. I will have it forever, means so much to me. I went out and got another one to write in and study and it’s called the evidence bible (New King James) & I am truly loving it. I also got hard back so I don’t bed and break it carrying it in the purse all the time.
I also have 2 bibles from Israel (King James) and they are carved, I have one on display when I teach my Transform fitness class Monday, Wednesday & Friday’s.
I would love to win this bible b/c it would be very special since it’s coming from someone I look up to and admire.
I pray that I can meet Beth in the future.
Thank you for continuing to post for Beth, I love reading her blogs.
Have a blessed rest of the week. Love,
Mallery
My favorite bible is the Spirit Filled Life Bible NKJV!
Which I purchase when I first began studying God’s word!
Carol Ryan here…and I love each of my Bibles but I really cherish my Chuck Swindoll Living Insights (NIV) Bible. Chuck Swindoll (and Beth) have had such an impact on my spiritual growth and when I read his notes I can him saying it (just as when we do our lessons in our workbooks we hear Beth’s inflections as we read). The Lord speaks through these two, and I am so grateful for their ministries for Him.
Hi! My name is Billie Brown, and my favorite bible is the NIV version of the Hebrew Greek Key word study bible. This looks like a great Bible too- I may have to get one of these as well (if I don’t win!!)
Depending on what I am doing … reading only NLT, studying NIV. Sitting under one of our pastors ESV because that’s his favorite, another pastor uses NIV all the time. I’m ashamed to say that I want another Bible but I would love the opportunity to expose myself to the HCSB.
My favorite is my NIV84 study Bible. I have not been able to part with it b/c of all my notes but it is falling apart.
Cindy Cannon
My favorite Bible. NIV, life application
My favorite Bible is a compact hot pink nasb that I’ve had more than a decade and has all of my “notes” and is highlighted all inside 🙂

Right now I have just a plain NIV Bible. But what I really love about this Bible is the cover. It has a “Renaissance Leather” cover that is so soft! I love just holding it in my hand.
Traci Glasscock
My face was a Ryrie NAS given to me by my parents when I was in college. Mine too was falling apart so I tried a couple, and am currently enjoying an ESV…both with pages and without (electronic version).
My name is Brittany Pitcher.
I did have a precious moments bible when I was a kid – engraved name and everything :). I still have it.
I’ve only ever had one study bible, and I love it – the ESV Study Bible. It comes with an online bible, but it seriously lacks a smart phone app. I would really benefit from that feature!
Carrie Lautenslager – My favorite is my turquoise and brown NIV Life Application Study Bible. But I also find myself using the YouVersion app a lot lately too.
Aubrey Waisner
I love my key word study bible- its so neat to see the original languages and glean even more from scripture. My parents bought it for me to celebrate the start of seminary and I use it every day! 🙂
My current favorite Bible is The Life Application Bible NIV.
I grew up reading the NIV, but REALLY love reading & own a NLT Study Bible. Actually, I LOVE any Study Bible, period! All the commentaries, maps, timelines, etc. continue to be an invaluable tool for me. Having a Study Bible on hand was especially enriching as I read through the One Year Chronological Bible in 2011. I LOVE GOD’S WORD!!! 🙂
My current favorite bible is my…
NIV,large print,slim size!

I’ve really enjoyed some of the children’s Bibles with my kids. One we all really liked when they were pre-readers was the “see with me Bible” illustrated by Dennis Jones.
My favorite Bible is currently my Mamma’s TDJAKES Woman Thou Art Loosed Bible. It is NKJV. She suffered with addictions, when she got free and fell in love with the Word I gave her this Bible. She was later murdered and I feel like I’m touching her when I hold this Bible. When I read the devotionals in it, I picture Jesus talking directly to my Mamma. It’s like I have her next to me when I’m reading it.
This is so cool.
Madelin Butler
My favorite study bible is Chuck Swindolls Living Insights Study Bible NIV. I have gone through 3 of them one paper back and 2 leather bound. I somehow lost if you can imagine losing your favorite bible. It was my constant companion and saw me through some very dark and difficult days. I literally poured out my heart on the pages of scripture. With each tear stained page I cried out to my God who heals. Such sweet memories. I pray that it was a blessing to whomever found it.
Now I am ready for a new one and it would be an honor to win one through Siestaville.
Praying hard for our Siesta Mama and the team of Colour that the anointing would fall fresh and thick in the Aussie air and lives forever transformed.
Mynfavourite bible is a couple’s devotional bible – falling apart from serious use as I stand firm on God’s living word until my fabulous husband willingly bows his knee before Jesus the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, Amen!
Shawna Steadman. I have an NIV I love-but I also love my iPad you version-so great!
Jeremiah 29:11
“For I know the plans I have for you” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”
What promise to stand on.
OOOPS. My name is Amy Cady. 😉
I love the KJV/Amplified Parallel Bible. I also love to read out of the Message Bible. I am currently doing Beth’s Bible study on James and am loving it! Working on memorizing the book of James!
Anna Scantlan–My favorite bible is my NIV Key Word Study Bible, referred by none other than our Siesta Mamma herself. It was the first bible I ever read all the way through and I’ve grown spiritually considerably since I began using it. <3 it!
I love you Beth Moore, you are an inspiration !
Thank you for the many many ways you’ve touched
My life!
My favorite Bible is the Laymans Parallel Bible
Thank you again for your way of teaching the Word & reaching
Me, who has fallen and gotten back up with Gods
Help and yours!

My favorite Bible was the first one I ever received from a friend of mines parents when we were in junior high, it was a paperback NIV Student Study Bible, and boy did I wear the pages off that thing!
I have the NIV Study Bible that was given to me in 1998(Christmas) by my brother-in-law. I did not have my own bible (my husband and I shared) at that time and had just started a new relationship with God in September 1997. I had been a believer of Him as long as I can remember, but it was not a real relationship until that time. It was 4 months before my first born was born and believe to this day was why God protected him and allowed him to come home 2 days after being born 5 weeks early and 4lb 15 3/4oz. He made him perfect in the womb because of the prayers my husband and I prayed for him at night before falling asleep. It is hard to believe he is 15 now. I love this bible it has some pages with small holes and taped up. Lots of scripture underlined and highlighted with dates beside scripture that the Holy Spirit used to make Him so alive to me. Has Beth Moore written by some from the studies I have done. I sometimes look at bibles, but just don’t know which one to get. 🙂
I forgot to put my last name. Sorry
My favorite bible is my life application study bible. It’s great for digging deeper into study. My everyday bible is a simple niv compact leather bible-it’s been loved on and it holds all of my notes and highlights. I also like to reference the message womens bible just for different translations from time to time.
My favorite is plain old NIV! My best friend bought me it with my name rngraved on it with a hand written note in the back. I cherish it. Linda quist
Wendy Patora
My favorite bible is life application study bible…using the old NLT version but always like the NASB or Amplified version.
Life application bible is my favorite.
Sheree Griffin – Life Recovery Bible
My name is Rebecca Miller and my favorite Bible is my Life Recovery Bible.
Just bought myself a new Bible on Sunday at Family Christian. NIV(Large Print). Laughed about it because when I was young I always said I would never buy one of those (didn’t want people to know I couldn’t see). Need new glasses but my son and husband need them worse so a Large Print Bible was cheaper for me right now. We don’t have insurance and my husband’s glasses will cost around $500. and my son’s will cost around $400. (if not more).
My favortie bible is the NIV.
I also love the Passages bible from the Daily Audio Bible site. If you tune in to the pod cast daily you will listen to the entire bible each year.
My favorite bible is my student bible that I have had since I was in seventh grade. It is precious to me because my aunt and uncle gave it to me and my uncle was Sunday school teacher at the time. He has since passed but he was/is a very special spiritual mentor to me!
I’m Katie Gaston and my favorite bible so far has been the John MacArthur NASB study bible!
Rhonda Green
My favorite Bible tends to be the one I am currently using!!
Right now I am using a parallel Bible cause I love to see the different translations side by side!
My Thompson Chain NIV is my all time favorite, I’ve had it since college, 1983. It’s so amazing! A few cigarette burns while I was trying to quit. It survived the pit. I have taped pages that were ripped by my kids when they were young when I tried to do my Bible study and I have super glued the spine together twice. I could use a new one! 🙂 Dana K. Ray
Hi there. My favorite bible is the Woman’s daily devotional. I just love techy stuff. I hope I win1 My husband says I’m a gadget/widget/twinket girl!
Love to win the Bible. I’m looking forward to seeing Beth in Kansas City, Mo in April.
Thanks,
JB
