Hey, Darling Things!
I am under the books, studying for our Living Proof Live in Baltimore, MD this weekend. (And if you’re going, I can’t wait to see you and to see what God has a mind to show us. The rest of you please pray for us and we will be the far better for your intercession.) I came to a point in my preparation that I needed to look up a map and my heart did this ridiculous little jump. Why? Because I was about to reach for my Bible atlas…and I love my Bible atlas. I could honestly use it for a coffee table book and thumb through it every afternoon while I drink hot tea and have a Pepperidge Farm Milano Cookie. (Of course, I’m hardly ever at my coffee table in the afternoon, nor do I often get to just sit and drink hot tea and eat cookies, but IF I DID, and if I had neither daughter to amuse me, I’d do all of those things with my Bible atlas.) I don’t know how to explain it. I just love it.
Here it is. I’m smiling as I look at it.
I love things like maps and charts. They bring some organization to the chaotic mind of BTSPTB.

I LOVE seeing others houses. As in I love to make up stories as I walk by houses of what goes on, how people decorate, what is happening. I love visiting open houses and pretending what would be happening. I love watching all the shows on HGTV for seeing the new homes, how they have staged the house to sell…I love visiting lottery houses and seeing what they have done!
The very few times you Beth have put your pics of parts of your house, I read with Great interest on what you say and then make up stories of what else may or may not happen… always good stories, ways of how you may entertain, pretending what else could happen – ya my hubby says a wee bit strange but I can’t keep myself from looking! 🙂

I know this is so random, but I love two Dark Chocolate Doves after every meal, including breakfast. You know that verse in Genesis about chocolate, right? I read where someone paraphrased it like this: “In the beginning, God created chocolate and saw that it was good. Then God separated the dark from the light and said it was better.”
I love the Word of God and do not really want to twist it. But I do think the Lord graciously gave us dark chocolate to give us a little taste of heaven on earth!
I know this is random, but I LOVE to make up silly love songs about my kids and sing to them whenever I feel they need to hear one. It makes them smile and that always has a huge effect on me knowing that God created me for this moment in time to minister to my 4 kids just like that – with silly love songs!
I know this is random but I love eating chips and pretzels, take a bit of a pretzel and then throw a chip in with it and crunch away!
I know this is random, but I love the violets that are sitting on my end table. They are blooming like I have never seen violets bloom before.

I know this is random, but I love it when I discover a forgotten box of Girl Scout Thin Mint cookies hidden in the back of the freezer. That is a definite “Thank you, Jesus!” moment. 🙂
I LOVE using 4 or more colors of highlighters, using new crayons and eating M&M’s in color order leaving the blues & reds for last.
Ooooh! I pair up my M&Ms in matching colors. Eat the odd ones first, then eat brown, yellow, blue, red and green (in that order!). LOL Never really thought of it as weird until I typed it out!!!

I know this is random, but I love to read and listen to talks on theology!
I love taking a walk with my husband at night and gazing up at the stars, chatting away with him and then work on my memory verse… the heavens declare the glory of God. The skies declare his craftsmanship. Day after day they continue to speak night after night they make Him known without a word or sound. Their voice is never heard.
I know this is random but I love to watch cooking shows while preparing a meal in the kitchen. The show just being about food gets me motivated to cook, and 99% of the time it’s not anything I’m cooking at the time either.
Just one more: I know it’s random, but I love it when I dream about our son. He’s done with college and lives in another state, but in my dreams he’s always a sweet, cuddly, little blond-haired boy again. I wake up with the sweetest feelings, like I had a visit with him.
I love all the self serve frozen yogurt places popping up!
Shameless plug but something that makes my heart happy. The new Switchfoot cd is out today, “Vice Verses” The challenge is to attack the ups and downs in your life with a vice verse. For instance, if the news is getting me down I go for a walk in the afternoon sun. Or if I’m sad because life is unfair I take an inventory of all my blessings. You get the picture. I love music that challenges me to think through the hardships yet maintain hope that this world is not my home and stay faithful to that which is true. That is all.
I know this is random but….I love the smell of the wet cool damp air of the early morning when I am out with the dogs.
I get very excited by new fonts to use on the computer. Arial and Calibri are too boring.
arranging pretty flowers and displaying them all over the house. Kroger often has them way marked down and I love to get lots of complimentary colors and do my own thing.
I know it’s so random, but I love cleaning the kitchen while singing.
It’s therapeutic.
I love new pens and a fresh journal. Something about that CLEAN slate!
I know this is random, but I love fine-point Sharpie markers – especially colored ones.
This is so random, but I love telling knock-knock jokes with my 3 granddaughters. The favorite that is told over and over is “Knock-knock” “who’s there?” “Who-dee”

It is an inside joke that involves Big T, their grandfather. We’ll probably be saying it at their weddings….

I know this is so random but I love…spending time with my husband in the same bridal chambers where I share my morning with Jesus. I love relaxing, talking about our days and sometimes working side by side on laptops not having to say anything to each other…but a simple glance and a smile to say I love you.
I LOVE going through the Bible, book by book, to find a “verse of the day”. It ALWAYS applies…for instance, today would be Chapter 9, Verse 27. It’s so fun!
I know this is random but I love taking bluebird photos and making calendars to send to people as gifts.
I know this is random but I LOVE cars. I know it isn’t a girl thing but I have always been the tomboy who loves sparkley things, pretty nails. Fab hair and makeup but above all. CARS. I love engines horsepower, can it crawl over a mountain, through a lake…..Cars…..Ahhhh just the word makes me happy 🙂
I know this is so random, but I love building musical instruments and then learning to play them. The last one was a Celtic harp. I’m such a nerd! Thank God for His variety in us daughters He has made!!
I love French fries dipped into a chocolate frosty – sweet and salty!!!
I know it’s random, but I just love clean sheets – especially flannel ones, even in the summer. They are so soft and inviting, like God’s hand literally cradling me as I go to sleep. Once on Oprah she mentioned that her sheets are changed every other day…. and I thought – wow, that’s living large. I am certain there will be clean sheets everyday in heaven!!!
I know this is so random, but I love sitting around in the evening, reading old books aloud with the family. It makes me feel so old-fashioned, so Laura Ingalls Wilder.

I know this is so random but I love… watching Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood!
Yes, he’s corny. Yes, his pace is sloooowwww. But isn’t this world such a harsh, fast place? Why not take a break with Mr. Rogers?
I read a book about him, which sold me on his show even more. He really loved children, and thought through what he presented to them on his show. He was also a Christian.
And my son is 3, and asks to watch him. I am so pleased 🙂
I know this is so random but I love touching pregnant tummies and kissing babies. That’s why I worked in labor and delivery for years.
Power tools!! I love make something new from a yard sale find. Just finishing a cabinet with my daughter. God gave us such creativity and ability to assemble things. Makes me appreciate how awesome God is to create such complicated beings and world. He loves beauty and so do I!

I absolutely love autumn in Michigan. Pumpkins & mums. Trees doing that amazing thing they do this time of year…changing their colors from green to brilliant
reds, yellows, rusts and burgundies. The random part is an unexpected last minute trip up north to enjoy them among hundreds of miles of forest backdrop. Aaaaand, enjoying a double scoop chocolate chip cookie dough & peanut butter ice cream cone while watching the show…well…that’s random perfection!!

I know this is random bit I love laying on a lounge chair on our deck and looking up at the stars, meteors and northern lights…the world melts away and I meet God.
…when my daughters play Starbucks with cups and “foam” in the shower or bath. It absolutely cracks me up to hear them spouting off terms like vanilla frappuccino and mochas with whipped cream. LOVE it.
i just opened my first pomegranates of the season…. and they were as tart and delicious as ever! I get on my worst shirt, cut them into halves, and patiently / painstakingly spend a good hour taking all those little seeds out and putting them in a huge bowl (I had four of them today)…. then I can just go to the fridge and scoop some out into a little bowl and eat them like a cereal (no milk, of course – but I do eat them with a spoon and just shovel away… i eat them, seeds and all)… only problem is… i ate all of them today… in two sittings.
I know this is random but I love seeing a rainbow! I love trying to find the end of it! I turn into a little child as we jump in our truck and make a run for it- I don’t know what comes over me!
I know this is random, but I love it when I get to slip a brand new pair of socks into a brand new pair of running shoes right before leaving for a run to break them in. 🙂 so nice! (and only happens every once in awhile)

I know this is random, but I absolutely LOVE the smiles on faces of children I encounter on my travels around the world. Nothing like a darling, sweet, creature of God smiling at you to remember that God exists and He is crazy about all of us!
I know this is random, but I love…setting a fun, colorful, creative table for dinner, ‘just because’! I love using my dishes, glasses, and especially fancy folded cloth napkins to get that refreshing,’eclectic’ look … and if someone else is cooking up a wonderful ‘color-coordinated’ meal to fill those plates it’s even better!
I know this is random, but I love when my husband surprises me with an order of McDonald’s French Fries.
