Hey, Darling Things!
I am under the books, studying for our Living Proof Live in Baltimore, MD this weekend. (And if you’re going, I can’t wait to see you and to see what God has a mind to show us. The rest of you please pray for us and we will be the far better for your intercession.) I came to a point in my preparation that I needed to look up a map and my heart did this ridiculous little jump. Why? Because I was about to reach for my Bible atlas…and I love my Bible atlas. I could honestly use it for a coffee table book and thumb through it every afternoon while I drink hot tea and have a Pepperidge Farm Milano Cookie. (Of course, I’m hardly ever at my coffee table in the afternoon, nor do I often get to just sit and drink hot tea and eat cookies, but IF I DID, and if I had neither daughter to amuse me, I’d do all of those things with my Bible atlas.) I don’t know how to explain it. I just love it.
Here it is. I’m smiling as I look at it.
I love things like maps and charts. They bring some organization to the chaotic mind of BTSPTB.

I know this is so random but…I love the time change in the fall when it gets dark earlier. On the nights that I get to stay home I put on my PJs early and it feels like I have somehow been given a gift of “extra hours” because it’s not bedtime yet. And it just feels so cozy and comforting, especially if it’s cold outside. All my friends and family think I’m crazy! 🙂
I know this is random but I think my husband is sexy when he prays. It makes my heart swoon with more love for him.
I know this is random but I love the smell of my two year old’s feet. I hope that’s not too random….or odd! 🙂
Notepads of all kinds. Also, I LOVE to laminate. I work at preschool and everyone laughs at me because it makes me feel powerful. Also, my partner at school like to use the big paper cutter. We are a quirky little team, but I guess you have to be to teach three year olds!
Weird random: Honey mustard with french fries
Random: I make people cry. Seriously, I relate too much then we all cry, doesn’t matter if I know them or not!
I know this is random, but I love brushing my teeth. It makes me happy!
I know this is so random, but I really love a brand new notebook and a new ink pen… goes back to my school days =)
I know this is random but I love to sit on the beach on a full! I love the awesome peace of God’s Glory and splendor of the ocean under the full moon.
I LOVE watching mommas with their new babies – got to watch one tonight at our church revival. Those babies are so yummy!!
I know this is random but I love paint decks. I am mesmerized by color and I LOVE to pick out paint for people. It’s so fun!
I know this is random but I love a coffee cup with the perfect handle and the edge of the cup isn’t too thick and kinda has a curve. The best cup o coffee is sitting w a close friend discussing everything under the sun!!!
I know this is random, but I love going for a walk outside after a big snow. It is so peaceful and calm!

This summer’s finds: A gold “crocodile” cross-body bag ($4 from Target), an “Auburn orange” tote ($22 at Ross $22) and a grey slouch (Free from My College Daughter’s Cast Offs ; )

Goodness, only one random thing?! =) Well, let’s see … I know this is random, but I love when the temperature is cool enough at night to put the flannel sheets on our bed. Makes me positively giddy with delight!
Editing (not just in the grammar sense, but also in helping to tighten language, etc). It is so weird, but I come alive when I get to do this!
I know this is so random, but I absolutely LOVE getting into a freshly made bed…mmmm…love fresh, smooth, clean sheets. (sometimes I even iron my pillowcases so they’re extra smooth – learned that trick from my mama).
I know this is random, but I love opening a new jar of peanut butter and being the first one to scoop thru the perfectly smooth top of the peanut butter! Crazy, why something like this would make me smile but it does!
I also love a new magazine when it’s all smooth and untouched just waiting for me to open and explore the inside! In the store, I will get one from the bottom of the stack to find one in the best condition! 🙂
I know this is random, but I just love office supplies!! Office Depot for me is like a kid walking into a candy store!! Before I had my twins I was an elementary school teacher and starting the year with new pencils, new crayons, markers,etc. was so much for me! So crazy I know, but pens, pencils, etc. are just so FUN!!!
I love the fresh clean smell of sheets that have been dried outside, card, stationary and calendar shops, staring at the stars and moon late at night, early mornings with coffee and God and flannel pj’s, and going outside early in the morning as the sun rises and noticing how unbelievable it all is. Oh yea, and my favorite pen – RSVP Pentel.
i love lighting every candle in my house. I am enough candles to light up my entire street should we lose power! I have every size, every frangrance and for those places where it might be dangerous to have a fire going, I have beautiful scented flameless candles. I love opening up all mhcurtains, making some tea and sitting on my couch playing some piano instrumental CD softly. I don’t need to be doing anything, I just turn out all the lights and sit there with the candles burning. love love love it! Oh I do have to have my 2 dogs right beside me. (They are glued to my side!)
I love hearing the little brass bell on the back door ring just before my husbands steps in the house when he comes home from work. It’s random, and it’s silly, but I LOVE hearing that little bell ring!
i just LOVE surprises of any kind at all! visits, flowers, gifts,…and God knows this about me…He surprises me often and lemme tell ya, His surprises are GRANDE!!
I know this is random, but I just love watching hummingbirds! I could sit and watch them “play” all day long. Did you know they squeak? And the buzzing noise they make as they fly by just tickles my ears. These tiny little birds are just as curious about me as I am of them! DELIGHT!
I love watching Yo Gabba Gabba, yes that singy dancy show with colorful puppets for preschoolers! It brings out my inner child. As one who had to make due with Barney growing up, this show is SO refreshing! I finally found a buddy to watch it with too. My friend has a 7 month old who loves it as well, so we watch together, and I am not sure which is more entertaining, watching the show or watching her watch the show. It’s a blast!
I know this is random, but I LOVE having my own, private “choir practice” in my home office, praise music blaring from my computer (tissue box close at hand) and I KNOW a ton of people would not necessarily enjoy it with me. They might like the music selection but not my passionate version of it! I LOVE it that God enjoys both! 🙂
I know this is random, but I love my World Atlas and my North American Road Atlas, I pull them out all the time to check on the location of disasters eg: Joplin,Missouri when the tornado hit or the coast of Japan last winter. And I love my dictionary for looking up words, even easy words and then find out it has more meanings that I orginally thought. sincerely Phyllis
I know this is random, but I love listening to my favorite song over and over again…it started when I was a little girl with the song “Sam” by Olivia Newton John.
I know this is random, but I love to take pictures of God’s amazing cloud displays! One of my daughters began the habit, and it was immediately infectious! Not only is God’s majesty and creativity evident, but my heart beats a little faster when I think that He will one day come on the clouds! Woo Hoo!! 🙂
turning our our AC down really low at night (we live in FL) and cuddling up under my favorite blanket, watching something entertaining, and eating chocolate or almonds and grapes. 🙂

I’m flying up to Maryland from Florida to be with my Mom and her ladies from church (my home church growing up) Also, hanging out with my one of my best friends who is now pregnant after trying for a baby for at least 7 years. We serve a mighty God who is good!
I know this is random, but I LOVE smelling the sidewalk after a rain in the heat of the summer. Unfortunetly being from West Texas I haven’t been able to do that this summer!
I know this is so random, but I love my date-stamp! I use it every day. When the kids give me drawings, they get stamped before they’re hung up. When they bring crafts home from sunday school? Stamped. And don’t even get me started on how I use it during homeschool…I love it! 🙂
I LOVE big cats… lions and tigers especially! They completely fascinate me and one of my dreams is to get my photo taken while hugging a tiger. Don’t ask me why, but that would thrill me to no end!
I know it’s random but I love driving through the neighborhoods of my town late at night with the moonroof open, moonlight pouring in, and the speakers pumping out favorite tunes (Dawes, Joseph Arthur and Robert Ellis of late). If I get my husband or a daughter to join me all the better.
I know this random but I love picking out, buying, and starting a new journal! When I get about 3/4 the way done with one, I start browsing at book stores for a new one. I love picking a variety of styles and colors. And I love writing in the first page! Sometimes I leave the last few pages of my old one blank because I am so excited to start the new one! 🙂
I know this is random, but here are a few of my favorite things:

Crop-o-file hole punch and Velcro is so quaint.
Got-ril-la glue-oo that now comes in clear,
This list of things to my heart is so dear.
When the dog bites,
When the bee stings,
When I’m feeling sad,
I simply get crafty with all of these things…
And then I don’t feel (la la la la la) so bad!

I know this is random but I love jalepeno peppers. I add it to pretty much everything I eat and the spice makes me sweat like I’ve just run a marathon. When I eat alone with no one watching me, I’ll add on the spice and have a good work out while I eat.

I couldn’t wait to share this and didn’t know to but then here u are giving us an opportunity to share sooooo. I love my siesta memory verse book because just today I pulled out one of God’s verses and gave it to a hurting woman. The first woman was a stranger that was crying, and today I knew her and He prompted me to share!!!! I don’t like pages torn out ( perfectionism) lol but praise God I have two slots that are not empty but shared with someone like me!!!!! Oh Beth, how I thank u for starting me on my journey 4 years ago having scripture books I carry around!!!!

I love getting fresh flowers for work each week.. and I give a rose to the first woman I see in the elevator. makes my heart sing.
I know this is so random but I love to be the first one to take a shower after I have cleaned the tub. In fact, I get downright fussy if a family member puts their body grime in my clean tub before I get a chance to put my grime in there!

I know this is so random but I love…………..plastic containers. I have plastic containers to store my plastic containers. All colors and shapes. I love to go to Wal Mart and just look at all the different types of plastic containers just to make sure they haven’t sneaked a new plastic container in that I don’t have. I know, my mom thinks I crazy too………….but you have just got to love it.
I know this is random, but I love to massage people… yep… Everyone is so tense all the time, and it’s amusing as they moan and groan their way into a more relaxed day. 🙂 I work at a Christian daycare with all women employees. We’re like family, and are close enough that it’s ok. I don’t touch people I don’t know… promise.

…finding a good pen that doesn’t cause my left hand to turn the color of the ink. Since I am left-handed my hand drags across whatever it is I have written, so my left pinkie finger is usually marked some way. At work I have to use red ink all day so you can imagine what it looks like by 5:00pm!!
