I know this is so random but I love…

Hey, Darling Things!

I am under the books, studying for our Living Proof Live in Baltimore, MD this weekend. (And if you’re going, I can’t wait to see you and to see what God has a mind to show us. The rest of you please pray for us and we will be the far better for your intercession.) I came to a point in my preparation that I needed to look up a map and my heart did this ridiculous little jump. Why? Because I was about to reach for my Bible atlas…and I love my Bible atlas. I could honestly use it for a coffee table book and thumb through it every afternoon while I drink hot tea and have a Pepperidge Farm Milano Cookie. (Of course, I’m hardly ever at my coffee table in the afternoon, nor do I often get to just sit and drink hot tea and eat cookies, but IF I DID, and if I had neither daughter to amuse me, I’d do all of those things with my Bible atlas.) I don’t know how to explain it. I just love it.

Here it is. I’m smiling as I look at it.

I love things like maps and charts. They bring some organization to the chaotic mind of BTSPTB.

Random, huh? Well, that’s when I thought of you. I thought it would be fun to hear you complete this sentence today:

I know this is so random but I love…

What, Girlfriend? What random, not-hyper-serious thing do you love that maybe a ton of people wouldn’t necessarily love with you? Do tell!

I know this is random but I love to smell things burning. My Daddy loves a fire, particularly burning leaves and such. The smell always stops me in my tracks and makes me think of my Daddy. I guess that’s on my heart because I stepped out of the car today at lunch and smelled the (sweetest) smell of something burning. Called my Daddy. At 41, I suddenly felt like I was 6.

I am 50+ and my husband thinks this is random ๐Ÿ™‚ …. but I love roller coasters — the ones that go up, up, up (the higher the better)….. and then hang there for a second … before coming down, down, down. I am a down-to-earth gal, but just thinking about that rush of wind in my face makes me excited! P.S. My darling hubby waits patiently with his feet planted firmly on solid ground while I ride:)

I know this is random but – I love libraries. Love them. They make me happy! Just to browse all those books and check out a huge stack that I could never, ever, read in just the 2 weeks allotted. But it makes me feel better to know that stack is there, I tend to get a bit jittery if I don’t have books waiting for me.

Yes,new tires, hoses, bikes tires….the tire store makes me so happy…I told a shoe salesman(yes, new shoes too!) that I wish I could make a mens cologne smell like a tire store! I love going to the Library to just walk through in a leisurely fashion and look at what might be good to read. I love going alone, and it is the treat I give myself without cost. Lost in my own little book-loving world!

I know this is random, but I love following @BethMooreLPM on Twitter waiting to see what amusing, silly, blonde, inspirational, loving thing she has to say to her Twitter followers. Sort of my Beth-fix for the day. Even more random, I love to comment back to her even though I know she probably won’t see my comments! Sure glad I found this blog and can’t wait to get to know my siestas in LPM land!

Sending up prayers for an awe-inspired weekend in Baltimore! Wish I could be there. Hugs to all!

While resisting the urge to read other’s prevailing winds of random…I know this is so random, but I love
reading travel guides. Weird, huh?. But I’ve had a love for travel rumbling in my soul so long, I hardly remember life without it. At age six, if asked what I wanted to be when I grew up: a stewardess (travel for a living!); at age sixteen: a missionary (travel and love Jesus!!). In my forties, I’m amazed at how God grows my delight in Him and continues to give me the desire and opportunity to travel…and read new guides for each new locale. Presently reading DK’s Eyewitness travel guide for Jerusalem and Discovery Channel’s Insight Guide on Israel. Yes, Lord willin’, next year! (found both books used online :))

I know this is random but I love my Chi. I had some truly pathetic bad hair days prior to the purchase of mine. I’ve enjoyed my hair freedom since then. Even went and finally got it highlighted because I knew the magic of the Chi would make those highlights look even better.

I know this is so random, but I love RANDOMNESS! My prayer partner and I thrive on it! For me, random ideas, thoughts, dreams, etc. is one of God’s ways of communicating to me. When things or people pop into my head that seem from left field, I know that is God shaking me up a little bit &/or trying to get my attention as I say to myself “where did that come from?!” I can see my God smiling on His throne & whispering “it’s just Me!”

  27. 327
    Jane says:

Lichen…I know that is crazy but I find the stuff fascinating. I’m just not the outdoors type but I love looking closely at tree trunks, stumps, etc. to see the lichen. So many types, so many colors, and God dreamed up all of ’em. Amazing! OK…I never confessed that one before…

I love slathering my hands with Burt’s Bees body butter, and climbing into bed every night with my milk and my “bar”. My “bar” is Odwalla chocolate chip peanut, and my husband and kids know they are off limits. (They have their own bars!) Pretty much every night my husband asks me if I want something different for my snack, and every night I say, “no.”
Thanks for the fun topic, Beth!

I know this is so random, but I love to read newspapers from the back to the front and then reassemble them with all the sections in order. Does that sound too OCD?

1.) I have a very strong, strange love of the South. I’m obsessed with Georgia, Texas, and I really want to visit New Orleans and the Byou. I adore southern accents and big hair. I am totally drawn to everything that is different about the South from California. I long to live in the South.
2.) I am OBSESSED (absolutely, totally, completely unhealthily) with Disneyland. Utterly obsessed.
3.) I wish I lived in the 1940s. I dress like Rosie the Riveter, pin curls, red lipstick and all. I adore Big Band music. I dig Alfred Hitchcock.

Marcy, it’s a diet coke with vanilla from Sonic for me! I try not to go every day…..but you know, I always seem to get the survey on the bottom of the receipt that lets you get a free Route 44. Can’t just let them go to waste! In fact, I think I’ll go get one right now! TeeHee!

I know this is so random but I love to check my Live Earthquake Map two or three times a day. It’s a website that shows where, when and the measurement of every earthquake in the world. I check to see if there is a big one close to me, could be, a large percentage of them are in California. Last week there was one just south of
Dallas Forth Worth, a 2.5. And Texans thought they were safe except for tornados and hurricanes. Just goes to show God’s mighty power.
