I know this is so random but I love…

Hey, Darling Things!

I am under the books, studying for our Living Proof Live in Baltimore, MD this weekend. (And if you’re going, I can’t wait to see you and to see what God has a mind to show us. The rest of you please pray for us and we will be the far better for your intercession.) I came to a point in my preparation that I needed to look up a map and my heart did this ridiculous little jump. Why? Because I was about to reach for my Bible atlas…and I love my Bible atlas. I could honestly use it for a coffee table book and thumb through it every afternoon while I drink hot tea and have a Pepperidge Farm Milano Cookie. (Of course, I’m hardly ever at my coffee table in the afternoon, nor do I often get to just sit and drink hot tea and eat cookies, but IF I DID, and if I had neither daughter to amuse me, I’d do all of those things with my Bible atlas.) I don’t know how to explain it. I just love it.

Here it is. I’m smiling as I look at it.

I love things like maps and charts. They bring some organization to the chaotic mind of BTSPTB.

Random, huh? Well, that’s when I thought of you. I thought it would be fun to hear you complete this sentence today:

I know this is so random but I love…

What, Girlfriend? What random, not-hyper-serious thing do you love that maybe a ton of people wouldn’t necessarily love with you? Do tell!

This is so random but I love to wake up in the morning and finding myself falling off one side of the bed and my husband on the other side of the bed with our 3 children (8,7, &3) sleeping right in between us. I may have not slept much that night but to wake up & have the 4 most amazing gifts that God gave me, be the 1st things I see in the morning, is what LOVE is. After surviving Breast Cancer at the age of 30 (diagnosed in 2009) I am so thankful that I am here to still be able to wake up in that position!! God really does a great job of showing us his love, even if you do wake up by falling off the bed!!!

Can’t wait to spend this weekend with you and some of my Sisters in Christ.

I know that this is so random, but I love making bread in my great grandmother’s bread pans, And think of what it must have been like for her, making bread back then.

Well, I love reading these comments for sure but….

I love listening to my kids and their friends talk and laugh and be little bundles of pure, innocent joy while I am driving them somewhere! This is the reason I want a larger car – to get more kiddos in it and enjoy their conversations….

When I am totally alone…..I absolutely LOVE putting on my original ipod (one of the first ones created), turning up the music and dancing around the farm singing my brains out. The farm animals love it too (I know theses things…hahaha)

I love the way my 2 bassett hounds smell (Hazel & Birdie). You know that good o’ dog smell that only their mother (me) could love. The look, smell and feel of fall in East TN. Love, love, love me some candy corn and mellowcreme pumpkins (aka candy corn pumpkins), however they can only be the Brachs brand. All others are oohy, poohy. My list could go on and on…

Aw, I love my basset hound, too! Can’t say I love her smell, though. 🙂 But Belle is the sweetest. Best breed ever!

      • Melissa says:

My Molly is half Beagle and half Basset. She is the best. Love, love, love her. Love my other two babies two, of course, can’t say I always love the way they smell, but I do love the way their feet smell. Reminds me of doritos. Love it.

Shoes and watches! How could I forget to list shoes and watches? I’m lucky I have narrow feet and am hard to fit or I would have a whole, whole lot of shoes. Wathces, well they’re just cool. Have a couple I just really love.
And last, but not least, I love how someone who happens to be the coolest chick and best Bible teacher I’ve ever heard aka Beth Moore, can stick a random question out there and we all jump in eagerly to give our random answers. God is good!!!!!

      Helene says:

Oh Patsy – I LOVE and miss Fall in beautiful East Tennessee! And I LOVE candy corn and mellowcreme pumpkins, too. You are right – they gotta be Brachs. Enjoy that beautiful Fall – from a sister who is “serving time” as I call it in the flat prairie lands of the midwest. 🙂 (I’m not really serving time – my husband’s job brought us out here, and I always say that he dragged me out here, my nails clawing the TN dirt all the way)

    Right this second, I love..
    1) Your Bible Atlas book. Sweet mercy that just made my heart jump.
    2) The experience of the DotMom conference. It changed my life. Particularly Angela Cottrell and Sissy Goff speaking truth into my life about raising girls.
    3) Melanie’s (BigMama) boots at the DotMom conference. And her orange top and her white lacy top.
    4) Eating dinner Saturday night at Chuy’s with 18 friends – I met ALL of them on this blog. 5) And having 3 friends spend the weekend at my house – I met ALL of them on this blog.
    6) YOU!

Since you’re asking for random, I looked on my desk, and there it sat… my Scentsy Room Spray (Camu Camu). I love this spray. One spritz into the air, and the aroma can lift my mood. Not kidding.

Beth, Praying for the Lord’s blessing on the event in Baltimore this weekend. The Lord will do it!

This is so random…but I love good “local” book stores. They have their own personalities and style. I can learn so much about the area just browsing the shelves. It relaxes me right away.

The “randomness” of these things make me smile… I too love the smell of cleaning supplies, even gas while pumping, and yes…fresh new office supplies make me clap too. I do think, though, that my quirky random most favorite thing would have to be the smell of sawdust. It reminds me of my Grandaddy working in his shop. I long for Yankee Candle to add this to their scent collection for me. 🙂

    A blessed day, Siestas!

I know this is random, but I love me some peanut butter and honey on a rice cake – a honey nut rice cake that is. I could, and I think I do, eat one just about every day. Life is good! Maybe I’m just always in need of a little more sweetness.

I love “fashion feedback” from my 5 year old granddaughter, Lilli. Whether it’s what color to paint my toes, or how she likes my new purse (“nice” but very drawn out and appreciative), she loves all things girly.

I know this is random but I love a mug I have had since 1985. It has my name on it, Cheri, and finding something with my name properly spelled is incredibly rare. I love my Cheri mug, even if the name is a tad bit more faded than it used to be.

Chapstick at bedtime. It’s my signal that today is done and I can relax and dream. 🙂

  32. 82

I know this is so random, but I love the smell of sourdough starter. I try to get my hubby to take a sniff and starts to gag.

BTW – I was with you the last time you were in Baltimore in October 2004. I had just found out that I was pregnant with my son and was worried because of two previous miscarriages. That weekend was just a date with me and God. No girlfriends (didn’t have any in the area) or anything. You spoke about Jealousy (jealous of versus Jealous For). It is a time I will always treasure.

I know this is random, but I love highlighters! Not only are they a great tool for the kids in homeschooling but I use them to highlight things I want to remember in books I read (making it easier to find them later in the book), in my Bible to mark key concepts, people, events, etc. I firmly believe a home can never have to many highlighters!

  46. 96

This may be random for some people but when I am in stores-I find people to give an encouraging word to- [Ask my 24 year old daughter who works now for Kay Arthur-] I have mortified her in her teen years because we would check out and I would say something nice to the cashier and ask one question and they would pour their little hearts out to me- and then I told them I would pray for them. I just love to encourage strangers- it surprises them however I walk away with an understanding of how to whisper a quiet prayer for them- and I cannot carry cash — I am a giver- and EVERY time I carry cash in my purse I see a beggar or homeless person and I cannot resist- I have to give it ALL- I just trust Jesus to supply my need- Random? Perhaps-

I also do this to our puppy Charlie and he too has grown to love & understand it!!! No matter what they do or put on, they EACH have their own smell (especially Charlie ;o) and I love how God did that! Love you Beth!
