Hi, Siestas! I think I’ve got a fun one! I saw this idea in one of those complimentary airline magazines and showed it to Michelle (who was sitting right next to me) with great enthusiasm and said, “I’m going to do this with the Siestas!” to which she dryly said, “Great, Ma’am.” (I adore her. To say that she has whiplash after going from Washington D.C. to Living Proof Ministries is the understatement of the year. She really doesn’t want to talk a lot about mascara and would not be caught stone-cold-dead in a pair of Capri pants. And never in her entire life has she had to keep a small bottle of anointing oil in her brief case…just in case her boss calls for it. She has also never before had a boss request a photo-shopped picture of herself on a Spiderman costume. A post for another time.)
I’m sorry. I have a little ADD this morning. Back to my idea. It’s not very original but I think it will be a blast. As we’re getting to know one another here in Siestaville, let’s hit the fast forward button. What are 10 things – right off the top of your head – that we would only know about you if we knew you really well? 10 random things ranging anywhere on your personal map that make you a tad distinctive? Or just plain weird? Think quickly. Don’t go for deep. Go for quirky. Don’t try to put them in any kind of order and don’t make them long. Just start typing. I’ll go first to give you the idea.
1. I have an addiction to Ziploc bags.
2. I hate wet socks worse than almost anything.
3. I was the only baby out of 5 born to my mother with no anesthesia. She never forgot it.
4. I wore braces for 12 years. I still often sleep in a retainer.
5. I am a read-aholic. I read over others’ shoulders. I walk the aisle on airplanes to see what others are reading. I read what’s laying on people’s desks during meetings while they think I’m listening.
6. I love Black music.
7. I need slices of cakes and pies to be cut neatly with a sharp knife and not gouged out with a fork. (Nearly just got a shiver at the thought.)
8. My children call me “Doodle.” I no longer remember why. Sometimes just “The Doods.”
9. I am a very slow driver.
10. I’m a go-girl. I love the rush of taking off in an airplane. I smile almost every time.

2.I make my bed every morning and clear the bathroom counter but the kitchen sink can be cluttered and it doesn't bug me.

7. have never met a cheese I didn't like although I hear stinky cheese is reeeeeally bad.

10. I have a horrible sense of direction (except in shopping malls)
1. I'm a closet clutter freak. I want everyone to think I am organized but it couldn't be farther from the truth.

3. Pepsi is my worst enemy and my best friend.
4. I don't like sweets – except pepsi ;}
5. I'm a crack shot with a pistol.
6. I can't clean poop off fresh chicken eggs – makes me gag.
7. Along the egg lines – I don't like the little white thingy on the egg yolk so I insist on taking it off before cooking, baking or eating eggs.

1)I have a fear of running out of razors.
2) My teeth are beutiful on the outside but if you look inside I am missing 3 and have half of two others! I know I need dental work, right? But they look so pretty!
3)I am constantly looking at the sky or for birds.
4) I have 4 girls and never had anesthesia…….just a tylenol.
3) I have to keep up on the laundry everyday….have to….have to……i know, crazy!
4)I love my God time when I am doing art. He speaks to me thru art. I'm getting ready to paint a mural to music for a youth event. So very pumped!
5)I wear glasses because I was too lazy to get the prescription reading ones. On and off, on and off.
6) I have really awesome neighbors a novelty I think.
7)When I need a hug I go to the couch and squeeze in the crack and tell God ok, I am here for my hug. It works for me anyway!
8)I adore all people and get very upset when I hear people slicing and dicing others.
9)I fell in Love with Jesus when I was 5 and begged my parents to let me name my new puppy Jesus. We named him Joseph:) Said we couldn't yell of Jesus in our neighborhood! I knew you would love that one!
10) We get to hear a train in the middle of the night at my house and it is very comforting to me:)
1. I am married to a school principal, work for one, and my mother is one.
2. I love organic food and am a bit obsessed with it, yet I'll go out and buy a jar of cheez whiz.
3. I will not touch a creature that is scaly, crawly, or slimy.
4. I have to have coffee the minute I get up in the morning.
5. I talk to myself…husband and kids think it's hysterical!
6. After the first of the year I'll get acrylic nails, then pick them off a week later.

How fun is this?! Love it!!
1. I eat hamburgers in a circle, leaving the best bite for last (was already planning to write that as my #1, even before I saw that Elizabeth eats her cinnamon rolls the same way for the same reason…I do the same with cinnamon rolls, too, oh, and pancakes…and yes, it's true love when given or give that precious center bite, mm!).
2. I curl/uncurl my pinkie toe over the next one without realizing it…it totally grosses people out 🙂
3. I talk to strangers…most of them end up becoming my friends!
4. I'm a total people-person to the very core, but absolutely MUST have my alone time, too!
5. LOVE to people watch…out of love for humankind, not to criticize or look down upon!
6. When I pick up my daughter from school and still don't have my makeup on, I feel the need to put on my movie star sunglasses with ruby red lipstick :)(I laugh at myself on rainy days)
7. Filling vases with fresh flowers and throwing all the windows/doors open makes me dance!
8. Speaking of dancing, I dance like Elaine on Seinfeld 🙂
9. Speaking of rhythm and music, in college I made the choir bc the director said he needed big smiles on the risers (then promptly asked – er,told – me to mouth "watermelon, watermelon")…I loved every minute of being in the choir!

1. I wear flip flops pretty much all the time – unless it snows or I'm on the golf course. (With only about 3 snow days this winter, unusual for here, I've worn them most of the winter.)
2. My CDs are organized in alphabetical order by artist and within artist by album title.
3. I don't share pens/pencils with people. I have extra ones at my desk for other people to use.
4. I've never coloured my hair.
5. My shampoo/conditioner bottles have to always be put back in the right spot in the shower.
6. I cannot sleep at night if I left anything out on my desk at work that day.
7. I keep track of where all my money goes to the penny and it has to balance.
8. If you ask me a question before 9am don't expect a coherent answer or me to remember it later. I may be at work before then, but it's best to just leave me be in my office.
9. I read anything winthin reach – even the ceral box that I've read hundreds of times before.
10. I'm the third generation to be born and raised in my current city and church.
1. I am moving to Singapore in a couple of months and I am half excited and half scared out of my mind.

1. My side of the family calls me "V". Only strange sounding when my sister is yelling it across a store.

3. Speaking of hubby/prego/gaging – my husband once ordered a chicken sandwich in the drive-through and then locked the windows just to see me turn green. SO MEAN!!
4. I thought grilled cheese and pineapple sandwiches were the norm until age 15.
5.I love sleeping with my yorkie-poo. Sometimes she is on top of my legs, sometimes we are back to back, yesterday we were nose to nose.
6.I can't stand having someone cut my toenails. I cut them before getting a pedicure.

I'm now loving being a brunette for a change!

1. Exposure to some cleaning chemicals gives me a headache. It takes over quickly and I'm out of there!
2. I hate to wake up to a dirty kitchen.
3. I read constantly, usually have at least 3 books going and see which one grabs me when I sit down to read and am a member of 3 book clubs.
4. Love to watch movies…nearly every day.
5. I have retired back in the same state in which I was born. Montana is definitely HOME.
6. I am a Janite (Jane Austen fan). Was able to find her home in Hampshire by myself the first time I visited! :-))
7. I scuba dive to overcome my fears.
8. Feel like I'm about 40 even though I'm pushing 60! Hard to believe!
9. I give myself deadlines to make sure I keep moving things OFF my list.

7. My favorite way to connect to God is through music. Would love to be a worship leader but can't get through a really good praise song without bawling like a baby. And I have a hang-up about praying out loud in public, too!

3. I love my diet Mt. Dew but it must be from a fountain with just a small amount of cubed (not crushed ice) – about 10 cubes – with a big straw, of course!
4. I fix my hair in the morning and never re-brush or look at it again all day.
5. I drive fast and can't stand slow drivers (sorry Beth)
6. I love to be organized.
7. I don't like my food hot or cold – it has to be lukewarm (I microwave my ice cream and let my hot food sit until I can eat it).
8. I am a morning person and can't stay up past 10:00.

1) I am OCD about my ears being clean… I have used as many as 5 q-tips in one day.
2) I like to order Hooters food to-go, I love their fried pickles and boneless wings just hate to eat there.
3) I didnt even fit in with the loners in high school… I floated through with 2 real friends and thats it
4) I alaways wanted to get married when I was 16 like my mom did.. I settled for 20 instead
5) I am passionate about girls ministry and hope God will use that passion some day
