Thanksgiving is just days away, Sisters! Since this particular holiday, like no other on our annual calendar, centers almost entirely around a meal, it brings a whole passel of us to the kitchen. So, your friends here at Living Proof thought we would have some fun with you by wrapping up a few fabulous items for the family feast.
We have prepared two identical baskets, enabling us to do a random drawing of TWO WINNERS among the commenters to this post. That’s all you have to do to enter. Just leave one comment and on Thursday morning, we’ll close the comments and draw our two winners and announce their names at the top of this post.
The goodies from these baskets contain items from the two largest kitchen stores in Houston: Williams-Sonoma and Sur la Table. When it comes to cooking, it doesn’t get better than that. [You will see each item in a separate picture so you can get a good look at them.] I so hope the baskets end up in the hands of a couple of women who could really stand to feel a little extra-special right now or perhaps are on such a tight budget that these items would feel like a fantastic splurge. I’m looking today for entries of some women who’d slap the table with joy over ending up with these. You are all so loved and esteemed here at Living Proof and you are valuable beyond price or description to the Kingdom of Christ.

Thankful for your book, “So Long Insecurity, You’ve been a bad friend to us.” I read it this year with a pastors wife and it truly helped change my life and hoes me overcome fears and grow deeper with God and relationships. Hope to be able to see you next time you are in Michigan.

For many years, I have been blessed with the opportunity to gather around the table with many women as we strengthen our relationship with each other and our Father. Lifeway miniseries has played a large role in this. It is my prayer that I can take what I’m learning about faith and love and life to my family, who has experienced much brokenness over the years. Sometimes our families are the hardest to reach, but the best place to start is around the table. Just like Jesus gathered with those that he loved 🙂

My life is in a wonderful upheaval. Selling my house of 22 years and moving to apartment life. Have been so blessed by Living Proof over the years and feel it has been used greatly by the LORD’s hand to help put my life back together. Blessings to everyone in the Living Proof community.

I find myself singing “I am a woman of God” often as I go about my day. I attended the simulcast in Sept. soon after retiring. This basket would be greatly appreciated and shared.

Oh my goodness, this is so funny that y’all are hosting this. I had a dream last night that I met Beth Moore, and it was the most random meeting she was sitting at a Starbucks and was wearing my dear friends companies shirt, and I walk up and say ” hi, I noticed your shirt and see you’re a client of you look up and smile and say oh I adore her. All of a sudden, I’m like oh wait, you’re Beth Moore. I call my friend, so excited wondering why she didn’t tell me you were her client knowing I’ve read so much of your work.” It was the most random thing!!! I thought this is one of those weird dreams that if you tell the person they’ll think you’re a looney tuney, but then I thought I could use a blessing today so if I’m gonna comment something, might as well talk about that dream. LOL

This year will be the first time in a long time that I am not cooking thanksgiving dinner for my family. I’m actually having a hysterectomy the week before thanksgiving. It will definitely be different for my family but also an adventure of sorts. We have 3 daughters and they’ll be helping out more than usual. I’ve ordered a basic meal from a catering friend at church. My 19 year old will be making a pumpkin pie with a purchased crust instead of the usual homemade. I’ll also have the girls fixing some vegs and a cranberry sauce. I’m actually looking forward to having them active. I think it is definitely going to be a memory making thanksgiving of the year mom had surgery right before thanksgiving.

Please try and find a single mom to give one of these baskets. This is such a hard season for so many. Being Thankful when your family has been torn apart, when your finances are lost and the weekly budget cannot afford the extras, your children are struggling, your church isn’t responding and you end up alone. Nothing further from the “picture” in our minds. What a way to hear from God a bountiful gist through you to her. Sometimes His name is all we have and Thank Him for that but sometimes a temporal gift helps us find our spiritual ones.

I don’t cook worth a darn but my precious sister who is hosting Thanksgiving would be thrilled with these! We have this agreement- she cooks and I set tables/ decorate/ make coffee and desserts/ clean up.
Thanksgiving is my second favorite holiday after Easter! My husband’s great grandmother is still with us so this year will be our 4th annual Great Grandchild Thanksgiving Play. Written and performed by all her great grandchildren, ages 2-13. (I direct to keep the fighting among the cast to a minimal.) This year we will be doing “The Great Turkey Detective”. Its sure to be a hit with the audience!
Looking forward to Thanksgiving. It is a time to reflect on all God has done in our lives and how He continues show His Great Love! Enjoying your study, “A Women’s Heart, God’s Dwelling Place.” <3
