Update: The comments are now closed! I’ll see you tomorrow morning as we reveal our TEN winners. Have a great day, ladies!
Siestas!
Happy middle-of-the-week to each of you!
It is a beautiful day here in Houston! It’s almost perfect spring weather, which is a compete treat especially compared to the weather we’ve endured recently. It’s either been really hot and humid (shocker!), or really nasty thunderstorms. In fact, yesterday was 100% chance of rain all day and it did just that. The best part about the rainy days at LPM are our shoes; three of us chose to trade in our typical work shoes for rain boots yesterday and it was a cute sight, if I do say so myself. We were giddy. Y’all, it really is the small things. I hope wherever you are, despite your weather or circumstances, you’re able to find delight in something as small as rain boots, silly or small as they may seem.
Anyway, can you believe it’s already been a week since our last giveaway? All of the sudden I realized today was the day to reveal our next fun giveaway so my fingers went to typing. It snuck up on me!
Do y’all remember (and I bet you do because it happened to be a pretty popular post and you also happen to have a sharp memory), when our Siesta Mama asked you to share with each other something really random that you love? That particular day she was gushing over her Bible atlas and felt the urgent need to share with you the joy it brings her. I distinctly remember her telling me she was posting a fun, random blog that day so that I could be watching for comments, and watch for comments I did! Y’all didn’t just come through; y’all went above and beyond with over one thousand comments or something fun like that. We were really tickled! Needless to say, people are passionate about things they love.
To refresh your memory, here is a picture of the Bible atlas.
To make a really long story short (I know, I love words), B&H Publishing Group was really generous and sent us ten Holman Bible Atlases to give away on our blog, just like the one she gushed over! Y’all, how kind was that? So, today not just one, but ten of you will be receiving this amazing Bible atlas.
This is the box of atlases sitting in my office.
For a chance to win here is what you need to do:
1) Make sure your comment has your first and last name.
2) Please comment only one time to give everyone a fair chance.
3) For fun, and you don’t have to do this to win, but it would be really fun to hear, if you could give away one book to anybody, what would it be?
4) Lastly, your comment on this post automatically enters you into this contest. So if you are not interested in winning a Bible atlas, please hold your comments until after the winner is selected. This will help us as we randomly select our winners. Thank you so much!
That’s all ladies! We’ll keep comments open for 24 hours and close the giveaway at 4:00 EST Thursday afternoon.
Also, like I’ve stated before, Australia is 16 hours ahead of Houston time, so when Beth and Amanda wake up it’ll be time to start the second conference. I know for a fact Beth and the team would covet each of your prayers as they labor with joy to teach God’s Word and share His gospel with this next group of ladies. If you’ve been following them on twitter, it’s been obvious that God has blessed their time there. In fact, I saw that they got to feed kangaroos. How fun is that? I’m with you, though, I can’t wait to hear and read all about it upon their return. Let’s pray they end strong in Jesus name!
Alright, ladies, time to hear from you! Be sure to check back Friday morning as I reveal our winners!
Have a wonderful Wednesday!
Kelly Miller The book I would love to give away is “Just Like Jesus” by Max Lucado. Thank you for your giveaways!
WOW…I think I’d love to give a bible to someone who doesn’t know a single thing about Jesus…with a little “guide” to suggest favorite verses and such. There’s nothing sweeter than seeing someone “discover” God!
I have never used a Bible atlas, hadn’t even heard of one. I would love to have one! Anyway, if I had one book to give away, I would have to say the Bible. It is our blueprint for living and through it God speaks to us and tells us all we need to know, His great love for us, His promises to us, and so much more. Speaking the Word out loud has more power than anything! I have seen this start to manifest in my life and I know as I continue daily to be in the Word, reading and meditating on it, I will grow stronger and closer to Jesus. Want to know Jesus? Read your bible! Love ya’ll!
I think this atlas was be a wonderful teaching tool and resource for our family.
If I had to choose one book, it would be Jesus Calling. It was given to me when I was asked to do the opening prayer for our Joy Sisters Bible Study a few weeks ago (studying Revelation by Beth Moore!!). I was terified and a dear friend gave it to me. I read the day’s devotional every morning.
Messy Spirituality by Mike Yaconelli
I would give away “Though None Go with Me” by Jerry Jenkins. It is fiction, but a story of commitment and devotion that shows what following Christ means.
Wow, what a difficult choice, especially for someone who loves books and never has enough. I would give away the devotional, Jesus Calling, as I want everyone to get to know our Lord better. I’m so glad I didn’t miss this post as I would love the Bible atlas! Everytime Beth lets us know some of the resources she uses for her studies, I gobble them up. Thanks so much for sharing!
Janie Hoskins
I’d give the high school girls I’ve been mentoring the Inductive Study Bible and help her learn how to study inductively.
Praying God’s Word Day By Day.
Melissa May
Lisa Stone
Excluding the bible, I think it would be an Andy Andrews book The Noticer. I love that book and it created a hunger for me to read all his other books.
So excited I never win anything, maybe this once chance!! I have given away “Purpose Driven Life” it’s a life changing book!!
Blessings!!
Such a great giveaway! One book that really impacted me and changed the way I look at life and heaven is Heaven Is for Real by Todd Burpo.
I love my NIV study bible and pore over the maps in the back so having the atlas would be awesome!!
If I could give away 1 book it would be the one I am currently reading, “Lies Women Believe and the Truth that sets them Free.” Among many things I have learned from reading this book is that we need to be the woman God created us to be and not to conform to this world and others around us. God created me to be a bold woman and I’ve been sitting on the back burner blending into the woodwork with my mouth shut, for about 5 years.
Debi Gerbino — Of course, my 1st book to give away would be the Bible, but if they already had one of their own, I’d give away “The Scarlet Thread” by Francine Rivers.
I recently gave away Heaven is for Real to a teenage mom who’s baby only lived for a few days due to some rare untreatable condition. This would be a good time for everyone to sift through all those devotionals and pass it on to someone! what a great challenge for us all! Maybe you could set up a counter and we can see how many we can pass on!
Karla Carlson
I would give away a book called “Journey to the Well”. It is a fictional story about the woman at the well. The author does such a wonderful job at giving this woman a face, name, story and the impact Christ had on her life and the ripples that we out after that afternoon at the well.
A Hole in the Gospel It expanded my world immensely, and I gave it away to four others already. Thanks for this great blog.
The one book I would give away to people is “How to Know God Exists” by Ray Comfort. This read solidifies ANYbody’s curiousity and seals the deal by using solid hard facts. What’s better than taking any skeptic and turning them into a believer?!
(I couldn’t win a free piece of lint if I tried, but I love Siesta Momma to pieces. Thank you for opening up a little fun!)
My husband loves the Holman Bible. Purchased it when it first came out. We were actually in Dallas at a couple of the recording sessions in the QR events. Love that tech ability to see Gene Getz teaching on the principles. Would love to win one of the Atlases for my husband. Am studying right now the James Study. Thank you Beth, for your input into our lives. Sincerely, Pat Lilley
Right now I’d give away One Thousand Gifts by Ann Voskamp…really being chalenged and encouraged by it.
If I could give a book to anyone, I would give the Couples’ Devotional Bible to any married or soon to be married couples I know. My husband and I have had such a joy going through ours since last year and we have been married nearly 18 years! I keep thinking of how beneficial it could have been to us when we were a young married couple!
Last summer, my girlfriends and I went through the So Long Insecurity study by Beth, and I have to say, it was life changing for me! I have struggled with insecurity my whole life, and this book was FULL of wisdom. I feel more confident now than I have in many years. I already bought a copy to give away to someone close to me. I think this book should be given to every young woman so she understands how precious she is to the King! Thank you for your clarity and wisdom, Beth!
It would be hard to pick just one book to give away, but it would have to be the Bible, 1000 Gifts, or any Beth Moore book!
Karlys Fortner
I have given away numerous Bibles and numbers member books to Beth’s and to Priscilla Shirer’s studies.
Thank you!
I have given all my middle school small group girls (and my mom) Jesus Calling. It was given to me 1st, by a friend.
Wow! What an awesome giveaway. For a student such as me this would be such a nice addition to bible study. For me, I would definitely give away one of my many translations of the Bible but the choice would depend on who I would give it to. Each one has a strong correlation to where I was in my journey with our Lord Jesus Christ and I would want to have some of the identified passages of that particular Bible to give encouragement to another going through something similar at that time. There is no greater gift than the Word of God! Praise Him for loving us enough to give us such a reference (our umbilical cord) for nourishment and strength!
I would give away a bible!
elizabeth andriot
Cathy Holland
I love too many books to narrow it down to one that I would give away. Lame answer, I know, but there it is.
Yaayy! I love contest!
Hmmm…If I could pick one book to give away to someone right now, I’d probably give my sister “Jesus calling”.
She has such a servant’s heart and is always giving to others. Her days are packed with ministry obligations and I think this book would bring God’s peace and joy to her before she starts her busy day.
Leah DiPascal
Amber Moon – A book I’d like to give to someone would be Beth’s “Get Out of that Pit.”
donna huneycutt
The last book I gave away was the Duty or Delight study book by Tammie Head. Such a good study!!
I love worshiping our absolutely awesome Father God. I get particularly excited when someone gives me a broken plate or glass or ceramic vase or pot! It’s because God has given me eyes to see how everyone’s broken “stuff” can be used in mosaic art. Then God speaks to me through books, movies, events, people … and I go to work cutting, shaping and gluing those broken items (all the while dancing and singing along to praise music) until I end up with artwork that is truly and only inspired by God. It is my fun way of worshiping and sharing God’s message with others. The book I would recommend? I am in a season of healing right now after having gone through a very difficult situation. “So Long Insecurity” has been a gift from Heaven! I am still praying the restoration prayer almost every day, and God is still using it to open my eyes and heart. I would give that book to every one of my friends if I could! Thank you, Beth, for sharing.
Wow, sooo many good books. The bible but really…I think every female needs So Long, Insecurity. Oh, how I wish we would of had that book when we were young. We believe sooo many lies. Love the Daniel & James Bible Study!!! Really, anything from Beth Moore! All her Bible Studies Rock!! Praise Jesus!!! Praying for them 😉 Mark Hall from Casting Crowns has good books and his latest -The Well, Why are we still thirsty? – Wow!!!Prayers to all!
Sarah Stinnett
If I could give a book to anybody it would be to my friend Aggie – she loves reading as much as I do and is always giving my children books! It’s a shared passion!
I would give away Premeditated Parenting by Steve Nelsen. It is the best parenting book (next to the Bible, of course) that I have ever read!
Deanna Fitzpatrick
Amanda Massey; A Psalm in My Heart by George Wood
Sincerely praying for the ladies at the conference…
Right now, as a children’s ministry leader, I would love to share a copy of the special study Bible I’ve been using with ANYONE that has a child in their life or even cares about children in any way. The ‘Children’s Ministry Resource Bible’ has SO much information and helpful tips that make teaching the Bible to children real, relevant, and enjoyable. It’s blessed me beyond measure and I know it would do the same for anyone else who read it.
Dr. Bob’s Guide to Optimal Health, a God inspired Devotional book.
If I could give away one book, it would be C.S. Lewis’ The Great Divorce. My favorite favorite favorite!
The book I would give away and did through our CWJC program is Breaking Free by Beth Moore. The ladies had to do a book report for their communications class, and one of the ladies did a report on this book. She is one who needs to be free from the things of this world and also from her negative feelings about herself. Thank you for all you do for our Lord.
I think I would give away the book My Utmost for His Highest.
Cathie Byers ~ I would love to give away “Becoming More Than a Good Bible Study Girl ” By Lisa Terkeurst
Allie Powers~ And right now we’re doing a bible study at church called Calm My Anxious Heart by Linda Dillow. We are only 3 chapters in but it’s changing my thinking!
Bartlesville, OK
We are on day 4 of non-stop rain with 4 kids in the house on spring break. But thank the Lord, they are great and well-behaved kids, all getting along and playing Uno right now. If I could give away a book, I really liked the book by Francine Rivers “Redeeming Love.”. This book came recommended on the blog!
Marelle Fogel
A book that really stands out for me is The Debt by Angela Hunt. It has really challenged me in ministering to others.
What a wonderful giveaway! Other than the Bible, which is the most outstanding read ever … picking one book is a difficult task! There have been so many that the Lord has used to minister to me at various times …. I’ve just finished reading “A Million Miles in a Thousand Years” by Donald Miller. It has changed how I think about life in no small way.
I would give a Bible as my choice of a book to give away!
Stephenie Sullivan – Rogers, AR. I would give away only one book, it would be Radical by David Platt. I have given that book away to several friends and it has stirred all sorts of conversation. It definitely opened up an opportunity to take a hard look at ourselves.
