Update: The comments are now closed! I’ll see you tomorrow morning as we reveal our TEN winners. Have a great day, ladies!
Siestas!
Happy middle-of-the-week to each of you!
It is a beautiful day here in Houston! It’s almost perfect spring weather, which is a compete treat especially compared to the weather we’ve endured recently. It’s either been really hot and humid (shocker!), or really nasty thunderstorms. In fact, yesterday was 100% chance of rain all day and it did just that. The best part about the rainy days at LPM are our shoes; three of us chose to trade in our typical work shoes for rain boots yesterday and it was a cute sight, if I do say so myself. We were giddy. Y’all, it really is the small things. I hope wherever you are, despite your weather or circumstances, you’re able to find delight in something as small as rain boots, silly or small as they may seem.
Anyway, can you believe it’s already been a week since our last giveaway? All of the sudden I realized today was the day to reveal our next fun giveaway so my fingers went to typing. It snuck up on me!
Do y’all remember (and I bet you do because it happened to be a pretty popular post and you also happen to have a sharp memory), when our Siesta Mama asked you to share with each other something really random that you love? That particular day she was gushing over her Bible atlas and felt the urgent need to share with you the joy it brings her. I distinctly remember her telling me she was posting a fun, random blog that day so that I could be watching for comments, and watch for comments I did! Y’all didn’t just come through; y’all went above and beyond with over one thousand comments or something fun like that. We were really tickled! Needless to say, people are passionate about things they love.
To refresh your memory, here is a picture of the Bible atlas.
To make a really long story short (I know, I love words), B&H Publishing Group was really generous and sent us ten Holman Bible Atlases to give away on our blog, just like the one she gushed over! Y’all, how kind was that? So, today not just one, but ten of you will be receiving this amazing Bible atlas.
This is the box of atlases sitting in my office.
For a chance to win here is what you need to do:
1) Make sure your comment has your first and last name.
2) Please comment only one time to give everyone a fair chance.
3) For fun, and you don’t have to do this to win, but it would be really fun to hear, if you could give away one book to anybody, what would it be?
4) Lastly, your comment on this post automatically enters you into this contest. So if you are not interested in winning a Bible atlas, please hold your comments until after the winner is selected. This will help us as we randomly select our winners. Thank you so much!
That’s all ladies! We’ll keep comments open for 24 hours and close the giveaway at 4:00 EST Thursday afternoon.
Also, like I’ve stated before, Australia is 16 hours ahead of Houston time, so when Beth and Amanda wake up it’ll be time to start the second conference. I know for a fact Beth and the team would covet each of your prayers as they labor with joy to teach God’s Word and share His gospel with this next group of ladies. If you’ve been following them on twitter, it’s been obvious that God has blessed their time there. In fact, I saw that they got to feed kangaroos. How fun is that? I’m with you, though, I can’t wait to hear and read all about it upon their return. Let’s pray they end strong in Jesus name!
Alright, ladies, time to hear from you! Be sure to check back Friday morning as I reveal our winners!
Have a wonderful Wednesday!
In the last year, I have given away a handful of Beth’s Praying God’s Word Day by Day devotional…particularly when someone says they are having a hard time getting started in prayer.
It is hard to pick one other than the Bible. I guess the most recent one I read that I’d give to some one would be “Through My Eyes” by Tim Tebow as an encouragement that there are still young people passionate about Jesus out there.
Elise Copenhefer
A set of the “healing” fiction novels by Stephen Arterburn and Nancy Rue.
I would give the book “Jesus Calling”. It brings home the personal relationship with Jesus we should have.
Hi there LPM,
You are all such a blessing. I have to say I give away books quite a bit. I think first it would be a bible… especially if they did not have one and new to the faith. However, I generally give a copy of “Praying God’s Word” by Beth. I keep mine handy all the time.
D’Anna Nowack
I actually did give one of my books away, to my sister struggling with substance addiction. I gave her my copy of Breaking Free and advised her to get the bible study.
Teri Hepfinger
Louisville, KY
I would have to say “And We Are Changed” by Priscilla Shirer. It spoke to me and such a momentous time in my life, and inspired me to step out in faith and seek God’s will. Surely it could do the same for someone else!
Pam Seipp in South Texas
Books and sharing are one of my favorite past times. And so the opportunity to use an atlas with my bible study would be wonderful. So, if I could share or give one book to anyone today, it would be a Bible and my study packet of James: Mercy Triumphs! I have given extra time this Lenton season for this study and I absolutely love it!
I would like to give Praying God’s Word.
Kristy Beckendorf
I would give away Ravi Zacharias’s book, “Walking East to West” to everyone if I could. The story of how he became a Christian in amazing circumstances.
I have never even looked in a bible Atlas before, would so love one!
Courtney Kraemer
I would give away a leather bound edition of Beth’s Praying God’s Word to a very dear friend. 🙂
I love The Ragamuffin Gospel…great book!
I would give away the updated (modern English version) of Pilgrim’s Progress. Prayers going up for Beth and the team in Australia; g’Day!
I think I would give away a copy of Wayne Grudem’s Systematic Theology. It is a great way to deepen your understanding of the major doctrines of scripture and to be able to speak to various interpretations of those doctrines. Thanks for blessing so many people!!
I would give away Mentor Leader by Tony Dungy. If you haven’t read it, go to your library and borrow it! (Shameless plug by a former librarian) 🙂
I would give have a difficult time choosing. Maybe one of my old Study Bibles…..in the hope it would mean as much to the new owner as it has to me.
Thanks for everything you all do in ministry.
An Atlas….How wonderful that would be!
The book I would give away…very tough…there are sooo many out there that are great. I think it mostly depends on what I am reading or have just read. I seem to love all books! hahaha
Lord, I just want to be happy by Leslie Vernick or Please don’ say you need me by Jan Silvious
Lindsee – I LOVE MAPS SO I KNOW I WOULD LOVE THIS ATLAS!
God bless each of you precious servants at LPM Today.
I would give away a copy of “Praying God’s Word” by Beth Moore. 🙂 It is a powerful tool using prayer and the Word of God and in fact, I’ve given several copies of this book away before.
Jan Morton
If I had to give a book away it would be “The Shack” or “Heaven is For Real”.
Other than the Bible, the Dream Maker would be a great encouraging book to give away!
Evie Cummings
Hi Lindsey, that’s an easy one for me, The Bible. It changed my life and it continues to change my life daily. I’ve given the Bible to friends and family members as birthday gifts and I think it’s still the best gift you can receive. Thank you for this fun give away. Love hearing from everyone on all the wonderful books out there!
I loved The Shack and I did give it away!
thanks!
Thank you for the opportunity to enter.
Francis Chan “Crazy Love” have already passed it off to a friend of mine and looking to get more copies to hand out.
Everybody have a blessed day!
Lindsee,
Thanks to LPM for a chance to win a very desirable tool.
I have been following Beth and Amanda on twitter, as well, and have been keeping them in my prayers. I can’t wait to read about the fruits of their labor in the upcoming days.
I enjoy sharing with friends and those in need, my favorite devotional book,”Jesus Calling” by Sara Young. It was given to me by my loving sister in law; whom I aspire to be as Godly as. This little book gives hope for every day, in whatever your circumstance. It is written as if it is speaking to you by God himself, and it speaks with such truth and love.
Thanks for the opportunity!
Brenda Adams, Hilton Head Island, SC
Today that is not a hard question to answer because I have recently given several away. The book is Seven – An Experimental Mutiny against Excess by Jen Hatmaker.
I love to read and have several books in mind but the one I give away the most is the Bible. I am learning to inscribe something in it as it is given. Last year a special young woman was murdered that I had given a Bible to 5 years ago and we were able to pinpoint a salvation date due to the inscription. God used it to bring comfort and as a tool to witness.
Good morning, from GA! If I could give away one book, it would be Love & Respect by Dr. Emerson Eggerichs. Awesome book – God used it to transform my view of marriage, and in turn renewed my marriage. Prayers for all in Australia this morning……Lindsay Gowan
Cynda Pierce
The one book I would give is 1000 Gifts by Ann Voskamp
I’d love the Atlas to use while homeschooling my awesome little men age 10 & 7. Besides the Bible, I would give away Raising a Modern Day Princess for parents with girls and Raising a Modern Day Knight to parents of boys. Blessings!
I would give a copy to my son Caleb a Freshman at Covenant High School to help him with is Bible class 🙂
I’ll have to go with Beth’s Get Out of that Pit. It was instrumental in getting me free and I have already given away many copies. Thanks!
I know this is really cliche but this was a toughy for me. I love books and I often give them away. So as I sat pondering through my favs it always came back to this one. It was the first book I ever gave away and hopefully I will never stop giving it away and that is this the Bible. It has changed my life drastically and it will continue to change the life of its readers. Other than the Bible it would probably be Battlefield of the Mind.
Samantha Garland
Thanks for the fun give aways!
If I had one book to give away it would be Juanita Bynum’s The Threshing Floor.
Catherine Barnett
Since I LOVE books, this one is very hard for me, but Jesus Calling would be my first choice because this devotional is so rich. The book just brings me to tears often with the precious words of Jesus. The 2nd book is Reedeming Love by Francine Rivers. It is Christian fiction, but it is my ALL time favorite fiction book in the entire world. If you haven’t read it, YOU MUST!!!!
I would give away and have given Praying God’s Word. I just love it!
Jamie Ritchey
What a fun way to start the day and get a new list of books to start reading!
Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers!
I randomly love the sweet smell of my baby’s neck-it just does something to me! I mean, I don’t even know how you would describe that smell, it’s nothing to do with lotion, powder, laundry soap or even food. But when I stick my nose in there and breathe in I feel pleasure right down to my toes. She is my 6th baby and it has been this way with every one, so maybe it’s not just me? Right?
I read a lot and have way too many favorites, but today if I could give a book away to anybody I would give away Bruchko by Bruce Olsen-missionary to the Motilone Indians. It really put my self pity, “life is so hard for me as a Christian” attitude into the grave.
Thanks for asking-
My bible study group is currently working our way through “Grasping God’s Word”. One of the chapters focuses on using tools like commentaries, concordances, and a bible atlas. If I could give an atlas to anyone, it would have to be one of the ladies from my group (but how would I choose just one??)
The book I would give away is Resolution for Women by Priscilla Shirer. It has great “resolutions” as a way to make changes in our lives. I’m going through it now, and God is really using it to open my eyes to ways I can change! Y’all have a great day!!!!
Susan Boland
I would just LOVE a good Bible Atlas. It would be hard for me to choose what one book I would give away because I tend to give books on the basis of what type of need a person has. Recently, I have given the book CAPTIVATING by John and Stasi Elderidge. So many women need the understanding that they were created to be cherished and not used!
I’d love to pass To Kill a Mockingbird with someone who’d never read it. Not eternal value, but a great book about the importance of character.
blessings!
Stacey bradley the book I would recommend is titled NICE GIRLS CAN’T CHANGE THE WORLD by Lynn Hybels
I would give away Jesus Calling by Sarah Young. It speaks to me every single day.
My name is Heather Narvaez. The book I would give away is a novel that had a great impact on me – Frank Peretti’s book This Present Darkness.
Just one? hhhmm, probably Believing God by Beth Moore or Captivating – I can’t choose one 😉 both have had a significant impact on my life!
Oh how I love to read and giveaway faith-building books! I have many books that have been my favorites along my faith journey but currently “1000 gifts” by Ann Voskamp is the one I have most shared with others. Awesome book!
I get your rain boots comments because my current rain boots are black with white polka dots but they do not look like traditional rain boots. Instead they are rubber cowboy boots! And I am not even a Texan! I bought them because i thought they were cute! They make rainy days more fun!
Blessed by your blog! Currently i am in a Bible study studying Beth’s “Believing God” and it is life-changing for me!
There are so many great books I would recommend, but today my choice for a book to share would be Heaven by Randy Alcorn.
