Update: The comments are now closed! I’ll see you tomorrow morning as we reveal our TEN winners. Have a great day, ladies!
Siestas!
Happy middle-of-the-week to each of you!
It is a beautiful day here in Houston! It’s almost perfect spring weather, which is a compete treat especially compared to the weather we’ve endured recently. It’s either been really hot and humid (shocker!), or really nasty thunderstorms. In fact, yesterday was 100% chance of rain all day and it did just that. The best part about the rainy days at LPM are our shoes; three of us chose to trade in our typical work shoes for rain boots yesterday and it was a cute sight, if I do say so myself. We were giddy. Y’all, it really is the small things. I hope wherever you are, despite your weather or circumstances, you’re able to find delight in something as small as rain boots, silly or small as they may seem.
Anyway, can you believe it’s already been a week since our last giveaway? All of the sudden I realized today was the day to reveal our next fun giveaway so my fingers went to typing. It snuck up on me!
Do y’all remember (and I bet you do because it happened to be a pretty popular post and you also happen to have a sharp memory), when our Siesta Mama asked you to share with each other something really random that you love? That particular day she was gushing over her Bible atlas and felt the urgent need to share with you the joy it brings her. I distinctly remember her telling me she was posting a fun, random blog that day so that I could be watching for comments, and watch for comments I did! Y’all didn’t just come through; y’all went above and beyond with over one thousand comments or something fun like that. We were really tickled! Needless to say, people are passionate about things they love.
To refresh your memory, here is a picture of the Bible atlas.
To make a really long story short (I know, I love words), B&H Publishing Group was really generous and sent us ten Holman Bible Atlases to give away on our blog, just like the one she gushed over! Y’all, how kind was that? So, today not just one, but ten of you will be receiving this amazing Bible atlas.
This is the box of atlases sitting in my office.
For a chance to win here is what you need to do:
1) Make sure your comment has your first and last name.
2) Please comment only one time to give everyone a fair chance.
3) For fun, and you don’t have to do this to win, but it would be really fun to hear, if you could give away one book to anybody, what would it be?
4) Lastly, your comment on this post automatically enters you into this contest. So if you are not interested in winning a Bible atlas, please hold your comments until after the winner is selected. This will help us as we randomly select our winners. Thank you so much!
That’s all ladies! We’ll keep comments open for 24 hours and close the giveaway at 4:00 EST Thursday afternoon.
Also, like I’ve stated before, Australia is 16 hours ahead of Houston time, so when Beth and Amanda wake up it’ll be time to start the second conference. I know for a fact Beth and the team would covet each of your prayers as they labor with joy to teach God’s Word and share His gospel with this next group of ladies. If you’ve been following them on twitter, it’s been obvious that God has blessed their time there. In fact, I saw that they got to feed kangaroos. How fun is that? I’m with you, though, I can’t wait to hear and read all about it upon their return. Let’s pray they end strong in Jesus name!
Alright, ladies, time to hear from you! Be sure to check back Friday morning as I reveal our winners!
Have a wonderful Wednesday!
OMG! I am a reading specialist so you can imagine the dilemma that I am in. However, there was no dilemma in my first reaction. Of course, with only one book, I would choose the Bible because I KNOW firsthand that God’s word is life and it has totally changed my life. But for an ordinary book, at this time I would give “The Prisoner in the Third Cell” because it spoke volumes to me! Good look everyone! The atlas looks awesome!!!!!
Sonjia Kittrell – MS
I would give away the book “Bait of Satan” by John Bevere. God has done wonderful things for me through that book. It is all about being offended and the need to forgive.
Amanda Haugen- Wyoming
If I could give any book away (and I often do because this one changed my marriage,) it would be The five love languages by Gary Chapman.
Natalie McGary
I would give away “The Screwtape Letters” by CS Lewis
Madelin Butler – Thousand Oaks, CA
I am a rabid reader so it’s really difficult to pick just one. I slept on it before posting just in case I changed my mind. Drum roll please….. Trusting God, even when life hurts by Jerry Bridges. Life changing read.
Enjoying the tweets & pics from down under. Praying for Siesta Mama, Amanda, Priscilla & Christine. Can’t wait to hear about all the God sightings.
If I could give any book away, it would be “Made to Crave”. 🙂
I would give away “The God of All Comfort,” by Hannah Whitall Smith, and in fact have given quite a few away!
Thanks! karen 🙂
How to choose just one?! I think I would give away “What’s So Amazing About Grace?” by Philip Yancey.
Wow, so many to choose, but the book that’s had the most impact on me has been “Oswald Chambers, My Utmost for His Highest”. I would and have given this book away.
Linda Dameron
Jessica Chenoweth- Huntsville, AL
I am a huge reader so to try and choose one book I would giveaway was not an easy decision, but I did finally make one 🙂 I would giveaway “Redeeming Love,” by Francine Rivers. That book so beautifully pictures the way God pursues us and loves us and how He can heal the deepest wounds and give us an abundant life.
Calm My Anxious Heart by Linda Dillow is a book that I do give away to others.
I would love to have this for myself, but I would have to admit, the first thing I thought of was my Wonderful Sunday School Teacher!! May I brag for a minute….. He is Truely a Man after God’s own Heart!!! He is so devoted to us as a class and he loves God’s word and the maps to go along with out lessons so we have a visual. I love this man very much and have the utmost respect for him, so if I won it I would grace him with it. Love you all!!!!!
A Thorn in My Heart by Liz Curtis Higgs.
I am Diane Garrard from Olive Branch, Mississippi. I am a map geek, so I would love to have the atlas. As a Sunday School teacher, I frequently use maps and charts in our teen class. The maps bring everything home!
The book I would give away is Jesus Calling. (I’ve already given away four and would love to give away more!)
God’s blessings on the team in Australia. I have a friend “down under” who is attending the conference. She says it’s great and God is blessing.
Margot Martinez
I would give away Heaven Is For Real.
My first answer would obviously be God’s Word…..because it is my lifeline to get through each new day. We take it so for granted and many have never had the joy of even touching one. So…I would give away God’s Word…but if I had a second choice…it would be the book “Redeeming Love” by Francine Rivers…such a wonderful picture of God’s love in fiction form….I believe it would touch the unbeliever’s heart to no end…and that is why we are on this earth…to show other’s His great love for us!! I praise Him today and always!
Just one book??
Well, I just recently purchased three copies (to give away) of Believing God for His Best: How to Marry Contentment and Singleness, by Bill Thrasher.
I think it’s a great book and found it affirmed my own journey of singleness. So I bought a few extra to pass along to other single friends…
That Bible atlas looks awesome! Would love to win it. Bible history and geography is so very interesting. If I could give away just one book, it would be The Journey of Desire by John Eldredge. Fantastic book that I think everyone should read. Love and prayers to you all,
Valerie from SC
I would give “One Thousand Gifts” or “The Well”.
Rebekah Parker-Tennessee
This is hard I love to give books to friends. My choice right now would be The Help.
I would give away Dave Ramsey’s Total Money Makeover!
Katie Farr
Today, I just really love my husband and my two boys. I love them every day of course, but today I am feeling especially blessed to be a part of their lives. My boys have been gone for the past 6 days on a Spring Break Road Trip with my brother and I miss them like crazy and can’t wait for them to get home in three days! And today is my husband and my 16th wedding anniversary. My husband and I have had our ups and downs and most anniversaries there is too much conflict to celebrate. But this year is different. I finally can truly say and mean I feel blessed to be his wife. So not so random, but my heart is full of love for these three guys in my life! Thank you Lord for your mercy and your grace these past 16 years!
Sorry, just scanned the blog post and did not realize the question was different from the last time. Oh well, still wanted ya to know what I said! 🙂
Mollyanne Gurley
I would give Redeeming Love to a friend who doesn’t know the Lord but loves to read, hoping she would hear that the message is for her too.
I would give away The Noticer by Andy Andrews.
Not that this is the very best book I ever read but I am a new reader to Francine River and her books really stay with me afterward. – And the Shofar Blew – is a great story about the problems facing so many churches today.
Nanette R.
I have gotten such blessing from reading “Jesus Calling” by Sarah Young in my devotional time for three years running, so I enjoy gifting a copy of that book to friends whenever I get a chance.
Michelle Hampton
I would give away the book “Not a Fan”…once I finish reading it. I would give it to my 17 year old nephew whom I fear is lost and so disalusioned by what the world has taught him regarding church and religion.
Denise Untersee-Davis, IL- Prayig or Beth and Amanda!
I LOVE to read! I would give t book “Not a Fan”-Kyle Indermann (I thik that is how you spell it!).
I would love this book! And the book I’ve given away more than any other is Jen Hatmaker’s Ms. Understood. Love it!!
Besides the obvious B-I-B-L-E, I’d give Crazy Love by Francis Chan. It’s loaded with scriptures, statements and stories that will either awaken the spiritual dead to a real live love relationship with God or challenge the true Christian to go all in.
Diane Mulder
I would give away “One Thousand Gifts” by Anne Voskamp. A beautiful book.
Kate Posthuma
I have been giving the “Jesus Calling” devotional to all my friends for birthday gifts this year.
I would give away Angels by Billy Graham because it proves over and over that God is always with us.
I would give the classic children’s story of Charlotte’s Web. Charlotte the spider watches Wilbur the pig from a distance in his lonely struggles of life and LOVES him before he ever knows she exists. hmm.. She tells him she is going to save him from becoming bacon or ham, so he can just stop his crying and whining. She has a KIND HEART and proves LOYAL and TRUE to the end. (A great re-read for every grown-up!)
I am so geography-impaired that I NEED to win haha. If it’s not in Texas or Louisiana I have no clue 🙂 I have given and will probably again give Purpose Driven Life! Such a revelation to so many of us- something we “should” already know but often don’t realize is how it’s not about us, it’s about God!
Paula Dahlke – I have several that I consider life changers:
The Holy Bible – of course!!
Battlefield of the Mind – Joyce Meyer
My Utmost for His Highest- Oswald Chambers
So Long Insecurity – Beth Moore
Jesus Calling – Sarah Young
Have given these away in the past and will continue to do so!
I could spend so many hours pouring over this Bible Atlas! It really spurns an imaginative experience!
Book I would give away to anybody…
Love & Respect by Dr. Emerson Eggerichs.
Janice Rempel
I would give Benjamin’s Box to my neices and nephews as we prepare to celebrate the Easter season.
Hi Beth…I love YOU and I love your studies and I love the blog! If I had to give a book away to someone, other than the Bible of course, I think it would be the classic devotional STREAMS IN THE DESERT. I have given several away to special people in my life, and God has never ceased to use this profound little book to transform lives. Next to Scripture, it is my most precious book.
I love giving books and my favorite to give is of course, the Bible. Recently, we sent care packages to Marines overseas and included Mark Batterson’s book, “The Circle Maker.”. It is awesome!
Nicole Dalrymple – I would give away “The Hiding Place” by Corrie ten Boom.
What a cool and generous giveaway! The book I love to give away is Oswald Chambers “My Utmost for His Highest!”
I love these Bible commentaries. They are so helpful when studying scripture.
Sarah Raley
It changes weekly, but this week “what women fear” by Angie Smith.
I am in the middle of raising little ones and I highly recommend Shepherding a Child’s Heart by Tedd Tripp. A must have parenting book!
Tracie Gadd
Fairfield Ohio
The one book I would give away if I could – and I have – is the Bible! I have given away several Bibles to people who have told me “if I had a Bible, I’d read it.”
God bless!!
Hi Beth
Not a comment for this, but I must tell you something. We are doing the James study, and you told the story about your opportunity with the bathroom attendant at the Houston airport. Saw that this Monday March 19, The next day I have lunch at a Mexican restaurant, and the order taker has no name badge, I’m big into saying peoples names. So I asked him, what is your name, and he told me Rafa. And I said thank you Rafa for helping me today, and he looked up at me and said “you are a nice lady”. Is that too cool! I felt so neat inside…
Just wanted to share that with you. Don’t know if you will ever see this or not.
Oh and while I am at it, where did you get that sweater that you had on in that video?? I loved it.. It was purple grey, and looked like the collars had butterflies on it.
Love you
Mitzi
My husband, my 18 yr old daughter and I are all coming off of a “21 day Daniel Fast.” It was the most incredible time I’ve spent with the Lord – EVER! If I could give one book away it would be my bible with 100+ underlines and tear marks to my brother in law who doesn’t desire to know the Lord.
If I could give one book away it would be My Beloved Israel, by Kay Arthur.
if I could give away one book, it’d probably be _For Women Only_ – wowzers that book! 🙂
