Update: The comments are now closed! I’ll see you tomorrow morning as we reveal our TEN winners. Have a great day, ladies!
Siestas!
Happy middle-of-the-week to each of you!
It is a beautiful day here in Houston! It’s almost perfect spring weather, which is a compete treat especially compared to the weather we’ve endured recently. It’s either been really hot and humid (shocker!), or really nasty thunderstorms. In fact, yesterday was 100% chance of rain all day and it did just that. The best part about the rainy days at LPM are our shoes; three of us chose to trade in our typical work shoes for rain boots yesterday and it was a cute sight, if I do say so myself. We were giddy. Y’all, it really is the small things. I hope wherever you are, despite your weather or circumstances, you’re able to find delight in something as small as rain boots, silly or small as they may seem.
Anyway, can you believe it’s already been a week since our last giveaway? All of the sudden I realized today was the day to reveal our next fun giveaway so my fingers went to typing. It snuck up on me!
Do y’all remember (and I bet you do because it happened to be a pretty popular post and you also happen to have a sharp memory), when our Siesta Mama asked you to share with each other something really random that you love? That particular day she was gushing over her Bible atlas and felt the urgent need to share with you the joy it brings her. I distinctly remember her telling me she was posting a fun, random blog that day so that I could be watching for comments, and watch for comments I did! Y’all didn’t just come through; y’all went above and beyond with over one thousand comments or something fun like that. We were really tickled! Needless to say, people are passionate about things they love.
To refresh your memory, here is a picture of the Bible atlas.
To make a really long story short (I know, I love words), B&H Publishing Group was really generous and sent us ten Holman Bible Atlases to give away on our blog, just like the one she gushed over! Y’all, how kind was that? So, today not just one, but ten of you will be receiving this amazing Bible atlas.
This is the box of atlases sitting in my office.
For a chance to win here is what you need to do:
1) Make sure your comment has your first and last name.
2) Please comment only one time to give everyone a fair chance.
3) For fun, and you don’t have to do this to win, but it would be really fun to hear, if you could give away one book to anybody, what would it be?
4) Lastly, your comment on this post automatically enters you into this contest. So if you are not interested in winning a Bible atlas, please hold your comments until after the winner is selected. This will help us as we randomly select our winners. Thank you so much!
That’s all ladies! We’ll keep comments open for 24 hours and close the giveaway at 4:00 EST Thursday afternoon.
Also, like I’ve stated before, Australia is 16 hours ahead of Houston time, so when Beth and Amanda wake up it’ll be time to start the second conference. I know for a fact Beth and the team would covet each of your prayers as they labor with joy to teach God’s Word and share His gospel with this next group of ladies. If you’ve been following them on twitter, it’s been obvious that God has blessed their time there. In fact, I saw that they got to feed kangaroos. How fun is that? I’m with you, though, I can’t wait to hear and read all about it upon their return. Let’s pray they end strong in Jesus name!
Alright, ladies, time to hear from you! Be sure to check back Friday morning as I reveal our winners!
Have a wonderful Wednesday!
I would give away “kisses from katie” by katie Davis my name is Alicia
I would give away the Word of God! Amen!
Carol Hulin
I find it hard to give away books…I “love” my books….but what comes to mind is a)a Bible: I have way more then I need b) Anne of Green Gables: a Canadian classic and c)any of the Mitford Series by Jan Karon….
I’m a librarian and a bibliophile from way back… I still read under the covers at night with a flashlight so as not to disturb my sleeping hubs. What book to give??? Soo hard!! I usually give books for most every gift-giving occasion, and it just depends on the person and what I’ve read lately as to the particular titles. I’m very excited to begin a new study on experiencing God in many different ways; it’s called “Come to the Feast: Seeking God’s Bounty for Our Lives and Souls” by Marchiene Vroon Rienstra… so maybe that one! Or for new babies, “You are So Wonderful” by Jacqueline Janette Lewis.
I would give away Sacred Marriage by Gary Thomas. The subtitle says it best “What if God designed marriage to make us Holy more than to make us Happy?” This is by far the best marriage book I have come across. It is one of those books that need read once a year (or at least for me).
Fran McCurry Plott
Gulf Shores, AL
I would love to give away Bibles in Spanish to my Ecuadorian friend Cecelia, a social worker in Quito, to give to the mothers we have worked with while there building daycare centers. We have taken them on mission trips, but I know there will always be a continuing need.
I hava a favorite Aunt (I know your not supposed to have favorites but I can’t help it) but she is blinded by the mormon church (me and ALL my family of about 200 were all raised this way). I was the first to break away and now my immediate family are all saved by the grace of God!! But I would want to give her something that would speak the truth that she would be open to read. Her salvation is so important to me! I wonder if you have any suggestions for me?
I have a random and GREAT love of numbers….so I think I may fall just as in love with an atlas!
Blessings & prayers
Hi Lindsee, Jesus calling devotional for a special friend coming and Nutrition and Physical Degeneration to anyone who was interested.
Sarah Robinson
I would give away “The Grace of Catastrophe” by Jan Winebrenner
This book is AMAZING and helped me discover a deeper intimate relationship with The Lord while battling cancer. I would recommend to anyone who has experienced a life altering catastrophe in their life.
Would LOVE to have a Bible Atlas! I do not own one:-)
Blessings!
After reading hundreds of self-help books, I finally read THE Book – the Bible – the only book with all the answers to my questions! That is the book I would give away – specifically the Women of Faith Study Bible (NIV).
I would give away “Under the Overpass” by Mike Yankoski. It opened my eyes and my heart…giving me insight to a hurting world that needs our love and understanding…our mercy and compassion.
Sarah Dickerson
Tough question, as I love books and all kinds of books. The last book I actually gave away was Velvet Elvis by Rob Bell. If I could give one away that I currently don’t own, it would be The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows.
I would give any friend struggling with captivity, Breaking Free. I would give anyone, inquiring about serving the homeless, the wonderful book called Same Kind of Different as Me.
Lindsee: Would love to have one of those Atlases. If I had to give one book to someone…it would be “My Utmost For His Highest” and I would give it to a dear friend. She can use the daily encouragement in this book. My prayers are many for those dear Siestas in Australia. I know that they will be mightly blessed and so will those hearing them at the conferences.
If someone told me they would faithfully read whatever book i gave them, then of course it would be a Bible. If someone told me they wanted to learn a new language, i would give them a Bible too, i mean the Word is the language of God, right?! If they were hungry, I would give them a sandwich with a bible in the bag….if they were thirsty…if they were sad…there’s a long list! However, if a friend reads her Bible and just wanted a good book…its a toss up between Redeeming Love and Evidence Unseen. Both are books i didn’t want to put down. one fiction, the other non-fiction. and both impacted my understanding of the character of God. I grew spiritually by reading both!
“The Blessed Life” by Robert Morris. Would give it to anyone who is struggling with materialism or doubting God’s goodness especially to His children!!
Hi Beth
My favorite book to give away right now
“The Cure”
Bill Thrall, Bruce Mcnichol, and John Lynch
They also wrote
Bo’s Cafe

I have so many favorite books so this is hard. The Bible is what I would give away though – passing on God’s word!
I would love to win this Bible Atlas I have never had one before!
Thanks Lindsee!!
Kathryn Carpenter, I would give Warrior Chicks by Holly Wagner.
A good study bible would be my obvious first choice, but other than that, I’d give away Fracine Rivers, Mark of the Lion trilogy. I know it’s three books, but one series. 🙂 Favorite fiction book(s) ever!
Praying for all in Australia! 🙂
Katherine McComis
Lavonda Till
I would love love love to have one of these! Thank you for the opportunity!
If I could give away any book at all (other than the obvious choice, a Bible) I would give Francine River’s A Lineage Of Grace. It moved me so, reading how God literally used very broken and even condemned at times women, to bring about His work and His plans. Each of them could’ve given up when the going got tough, but instead turned to God to meet their needs and give them direction. Inspiring and so very full of hope for each of us.
Favorite book? There are so many…presently I am reading The Cross of Christ, by John Stott and this book has just fueled my love and admiration and worship of the Lord Jesus and God’s incredible plan of salvation. Also, anything by Philip Keller, especially A Shepherds Look at Psalm 23. Of course, there’s always something wonderful by Beth Moore! Thank you and God bless you guys (from New England!).
Teresa Keeler
I would give away “Redeeming Love,” by Francine Rivers
What a fun giveaway!!! I would give a Bible, but if they had a Bible, I would choose either ROBINSON CRUSOE or HEIDI, which were childhood favorites and thinking how they would be great to read to relax and take you away from a too busy world!! At 65, I am looking for more relaxed reading that is interesting and comforts….much like Scripture.
AHHH!!! Forgot to leave my name…. Sherry Peck in the comment above about Robinson Crusoe or Heidi book…..
Hello!!!
I would give the Jesus Calling Devotional!! 🙂
I would give “Sacred Rhythms” by Ruth Haley Barton
I live in Turkey, which is 99.9% Muslim, so it would be a privilege to give a Turkish New Testament to a friend, resulting in freedom and zoe life. The Atlas would be a great addition to our small library, since we couldn’t ship all our books here with (hooray for the Kinde!).
(I left off my last name due to security reasons, sorry)
I have given the book Daily Light away as often as I can…it has been a blessing to me and I know that those who The Lord directs me to give it have especially appreciated it and found comfort, encouragement along with a relational insight to our wonderful savior, Jesus. Right now I would like to give the book Co-dependent No More to a friend at work!
Leslie Hermann:
Besides God’s amazing word I would love to give away C.S. Lewis’s Mere Christianity – one of the first books I read as a new believer 🙂
Oh my… picking just one is hard…a dear friend of mine gave me Jesus Calling several years ago and since then I have bought and given copies to my 3 girls and lots of friends…so it would probably be that or.. maybe Feathers From My Nest by our Beth…I have also given my girls that one and recommended it to many others!! Sorry.. I had to choose two!!
I get so much joy giving people Bibles, especially new believers. My second favorite book is the devotional “Streams in The Desert” which is a great book to give to others.
I would give one to my friend, Terrie Cole. She loves researching Biblical history and has a fondness for atlas’s etc.
Wow, I just added so many books to my Amazon wishlist! I can’t pick just one favorite book besides the Bible, wait, right now I am reading When The Enemy Strikes, by Charles Stanley, very very good.
Nikki L’Hommedieu
Karen Lipford would love to win a Bible Atlas! YAY for giveaways! I would give away the book “The Five Love Languages” by Chapman. Good marriage tool.
thanks LPM!
Tracy Langford
Of course, the Bible, but also Heaven Is For Real by Todd Burpo.
Julie Leland
I would give away the book Romancing the King – Finding Imtimacy with God. by Brian Lake. Next to the Bible it is my favorite book right now. It has really changed how I see and now feel about my relationship with God.
Reese Howells, Intercessor
My very favorite book to pass on, at least by title if not the book itself (I could never give up my own copy!) is Hinds Feet on High Places by Hannah Hurnard. It’s a beautiful allegory I think every woman should read.
I think I would want to give away “The Bible” followed by Beth’s bible study “Breaking Free”…..such an empowering study! Happy Thursday to all !
Maryann Hardesty
Child Training Tips by Reb Bradley was the last book I loaded out as recommended reading–great quick read!
Thank you for this chance! 🙂
I would not only love to give a student Bible to each of my two young relatives, but I would love for them to accept the Bibles and Christ. A favorite book to give too . . . Get Out of that Pit and 1000 Gifts. Thank You! 🙂
Carli Call–
I would give away a few copies of children’s Bibles. Not only is it so important to plant that seed at a young age but reading and teaching from these is great family time!
I just gave my husband a copy of “The Sacred Romance” by Brent Curtis & John Eldridge tonight. He asked, “Now why do you want me to read this?”
I said, “Because besides the Bible, it’s the single book that has impacted me the most.”
Candi Dickerson
I love the book At Home in Mitford, I’d want everyone to read it!
Thanks for a chance to win!
Hi! My name is Kathy Booker. I am a new follower to this blog and I must say that I love it. I would have to qualify about my one book gift. If they already had a Bible I would want to give them copy of Jonathan Cahn’s book The Harbinger. I think it is a must read for all Christian Americans.
Boy it is sure hard to pick 1 book that I would give to someone! I have given multiple copies of several books away already! The first would be “Captivating” by John & Stasi Eldridge and “Healing for Damaged Emotions” by Dr. David Seamands. I first read Dr. Seamands book when I was a freshman at Asbury College in 1992 (he graduated from there, the seminary, taught at the seminary, was the pastor of the Wilmore UMC for 20+ years & counseled 1000’s of people). When I read it that was when I realized I was very damaged & needed healing so badly…..oh what a journey it has been since then!
oops! Forgot my name! Kayleen Hilyer
Besides the Bible, I would give away Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers. Absolutely love that book.
I would give away a copy of 1000 Gifts by Ann Voskamp, a book I have now read over 5 times with different groups of ladies and a revolution of giving thanks in relationship with Jesus is the result…awesome!!!
Thanks for the giveaway ~ FUN!
Jesus Calling ~ have given away several ~ it speaks to me daily and hope it has the same affect on others! Heavenly Blessings to our wonderful LPM family!
