I AM SO PROUD OF YOU I COULD DO TEN CARTWHEELS!!!!!
LET YOURSELF FEEL THE HOLY NOD OF GOD THIS WONDERFUL DAY, MY BELOVED SISTER.
YOU HAVE DONE SOMETHING THAT HE ESTEEMS AS TREASURE BEYOND PRICE.
HE HAS LISTENED INTENTLY EVERY TIME YOU’VE SAID A VERSE OUT LOUD AND RECOGNIZED THE SOUND OF YOUR VOICE WITH DEEP AFFECTION.
HE HAS BEHELD YOUR RADIANT FACE, DAUGHTER OF GOD, AND FOUND YOU SO LOVELY.
LET YOURSELF HEAR HIS COMMENDATION THIS DAY.
LET HIM SAY “WELL DONE” TO YOU.
Oh, Jesus was so worthy of all this work, wasn’t He, Sister???
You have been a stellar group and you’ve kept to the exact instructions with every single entry, limiting them to the verse alone. This time when you leave your verse, you get to leave a comment with it. Testify! Boast in the Lord! Tell us a specific way God used this year of Scripture memory in your priceless life.

This year has shown me, I CAN do all things through Christ who strengthens me, especially with scripture memorization. I have believed a lie I couldn’t memorize. I not longer believe that lie! Praise Him and Be Joyful!

Thank you for this great idea.. I have 24 of my favorite and meaningful scriptures. The memorizing part I was not so good at.. They just don’t stay with me, memorization is not one of my strongpoints BUT I have my note card binder to refer to and will probably keep adding to it.

For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.
No matter what, God’s word is proof that He is faithful. I am so happy that I know Him!

Once again my verses all year chronicle what the Lord has been doing in my life. From my very first verse this year, the Lord has been sustaining me with His promises and using the truth of the Word to reveal lies I’ve been believing. It’s the first year in (at least) 5 years that I’ve walked in victory from certain strongholds. Thank you Jesus!!!

I deal with chronic health issues so I chose many of my verses to remind myself that it is God who is the source of my strength. These verses have become a lifeline of encouragement. I will be doing this again next year.

Therefore we do not give up. Even though our outer person is being destroyed, our inner person is being renewed day by day. For our momentary light affliction is producing for us an absolutely incomparable eternal weight of glory. So we do not focus on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

Not to us, LORD, not to us but to your name be the glory, because of your love and faithfulness.
This has been an amazing journey for me. I started off not sure I would be able to do this. I am not good at word for word memorization. It is only through the Holy Spirit that I have been able to accomplish this. I am truly amazed at what He has done in my life. People now think that I am a whiz a scripture memorization, but I know the truth. It is not me. I was actually asked to recite some scripture in our Christmas play (my last two entries) and it is because of this journey. When I started out I was very concerned that I would not know what verse to pick every time. I mean, if you don’t know any scripture then how can you pick them to memorize right? Amazingly every 2 weeks a verse was given to me – sometimes a little late like this time, but always one was sent to me. I have continually been amazed by this process. I have made a good friend over this year too. My study buddy and I get together twice a month and quiz each other on our verses. I am excited to say that we will both be there to share our journey with all of you in January. Can’t wait! I could say so much more but I must say Thank You for this journey. Oh, I guess I should add – I found this blog site last year right around this time and there was a posting about SSMT. I thought it sounded like a good gift to give my kids for Christmas – the little notebook. I bought 3. One for me, and one for my 2 daughters. One took on the challenge but was not able to stay with it (college age kids – so much to do!), and one was smart enough to know it was too much for her to take on that year. So I gave her book to my new friend and our journey began. How I found this site? I would like to say I just don’t know, but we all know that is not how it works. I was led here! And it has changed my life! lastly, the reason I picked this final verse is to help remind me that I am only able to do this with the help of the Holy Spirit! I pray that I never forget this as I have now found a new passion! I will continue to memorize scripture and hopefully will be able to remember all the ones I have learned this year!

Matthew 16:18
Ps. 4:4-8 ESV
Be angry, and do not sin; ponder in your own hearts on your beds, and be silent. Selah. Offer right sacrifices, and put your trust in the LORD. There are many who say,”Who will show us some good? Lift up the light of your face upon us, O LORD!” You have put more joy in my heart than they have when their grain and wine abound. In peace I will both lie down and sleep; for you alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety.

Matthew 1:23 NIV
Memorization has never been very difficult for me. But there is a difference between memorizing a verse and letting its truth sink into your life. That’s a habit that this year thought me. I learned, not just how to memorize, but how to use scripture memory to grow closer to God.
Thank you for the encouragement and accountability! I will continue to read and meditate on the scriptures that I learned this year next year, to really know them, and most of all, to bring glory to God!

I had other contenders for this final scripture verse but when I “stumbled” upon this one I knew this was the one. I find that I have started quoting verses during normal conversation to the annoyance of everyone but me!! I have always wanted to participate in the SSMT and this year I thought, “Why not?” I didn’t have an answer so here I am 12 months later with 24 scripture verses written in my heart. God is good. God is God, the faithful God, who keeps His lovingkindness to a thousandth generation with those who love Him and keep His commandments…Deut. 7:9…see what I mean???
Love to all at Living Proof Ministries. I enjoy your blogs very much. May God continue to bless you all.
