I AM SO PROUD OF YOU I COULD DO TEN CARTWHEELS!!!!!
LET YOURSELF FEEL THE HOLY NOD OF GOD THIS WONDERFUL DAY, MY BELOVED SISTER.
YOU HAVE DONE SOMETHING THAT HE ESTEEMS AS TREASURE BEYOND PRICE.
HE HAS LISTENED INTENTLY EVERY TIME YOU’VE SAID A VERSE OUT LOUD AND RECOGNIZED THE SOUND OF YOUR VOICE WITH DEEP AFFECTION.
HE HAS BEHELD YOUR RADIANT FACE, DAUGHTER OF GOD, AND FOUND YOU SO LOVELY.
LET YOURSELF HEAR HIS COMMENDATION THIS DAY.
LET HIM SAY “WELL DONE” TO YOU.
Oh, Jesus was so worthy of all this work, wasn’t He, Sister???
You have been a stellar group and you’ve kept to the exact instructions with every single entry, limiting them to the verse alone. This time when you leave your verse, you get to leave a comment with it. Testify! Boast in the Lord! Tell us a specific way God used this year of Scripture memory in your priceless life.

This is my 2nd year to participate. It’s been a tough year and God’s word has been what has sustained me. The verses I picked out each time were what I held onto. Bless your ministry Mama Beth and Lindsee I so enjoy your posts. Merry Christmas to you all!

Romans 12:6-8 NIV We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your[a] faith; 7 if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; 8 if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead,[b] do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.

Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling,
And to present you faultless
Before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,

Be glory and majesty,
Dominion and power,
Both now and forever.

Song of Solomon 2:15 (HCSB)
From a song Lindsee posted earlier: Deliver us Lord. Let not one fox steal our joy, because You, God, are SO good to us.
Christmas is a time of the year that can be so joyous but the “little or big things” (shopping, cooking, dealing with people) can take all our joy away!! This is my reminder as Lindsee said, to not let “those foxes” steal our JOY!!!
Merry Christmas Everyone, JESUS is born and LORD of ALL!!!

As you know, we count as blessed those who have persevered. You have heard of Job’s perseverance and have seen what the Lord finally brought about. The Lord is full of compassion and mercy. James 5:11 (NIV)
Started this year asking the Lord to help me with “order” – HIM first, THEN MY MAN (radical for me), then the kids and then… and then…
I wanted to find verses that reflected joy in obedience – joy in Christ ALONE. By the end of the year, I almost have all of James memorized and several sweet verses that have breathed life into me as the battle rages on for my husband’s peace. This last verse is HUGE in meaning. My Lord is TRUTH and He will see His plan done. So grateful for all the scripture the Spirit hid in my heart through this. Bless you, Siestas, SIESTA BETH, and all at LPM!
Jennifer, your post was touching. Your faith is felt. I wish you well and I too have learned so much through this journey. Love you, my siesta, and praying the peace you seek for your husband is given by the One and only who can truly give it. Our lives, mine for sure, are far, far from perfect. I used to try to make my husband feel guilty for not going to church with me. It took a long time for me to understand I could never do that….only God can. He still doesn’t go but I have given it over to God. So glad also that I have this blog, Beth and all of my siestas praying for me and each other,

We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.
Isaiah 53:6 NIV
“But Mary kept all these things and pondered them in her heart.” Luke 2: 19 I only had to memorize the reference, since the verse was so familiar. But do I really keep and ponder the experiences of God in my life, not the objects? I want to hold onto and share what our amazing Lord has done for me! Thanks for the verses and encouragement this year, ladies!
Yearlong project: Psalm 118 in KJV
O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: because his mercy endureth for ever.
Let Israel now say, that his mercy endureth for ever.
Let the house of Aaron now say, that his mercy endureth for ever.
Let them now that fear the Lord say, that his mercy endureth for ever.
I called upon the Lord in distress: the Lord answered me, and set me in a large place.
The Lord is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?
The Lord taketh my part with them that help me: therefore shall I see my desire upon them that hate me.
It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man.
It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in princes.
All nations compassed me about: but in the name of the Lord will I destroy them.
They compassed me about; yea, they compassed me about: but in the name of the Lord I will destroy them.
They compassed me about like bees: they are quenched as the fire of thorns: for in the name of the Lord I will destroy them.
Thou hast thrust sore at me that I might fall: but the Lord helped me.
The Lord is my strength and song, and is become my salvation.
The voice of rejoicing and salvation is in the tabernacles of the righteous: the right hand of the Lord doeth valiantly.
The right hand of the Lord is exalted: the right hand of the Lord doeth valiantly.
I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.
The Lord hath chastened me sore: but he hath not given me over unto death.
Open to me the gates of righteousness: I will go into them, and I will praise the Lord:
This gate of the Lord, into which the righteous shall enter.
I will praise thee: for thou hast heard me, and art become my salvation.
The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner.
This is the Lord’s doing; it is marvellous in our eyes.
This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.
Save now, I beseech thee, O Lord: O Lord, I beseech thee, send now prosperity.
Blessed be he that cometh in the name of the Lord: we have blessed you out of the house of the Lord.
God is the Lord, which hath shewed us light: bind the sacrifice with cords, even unto the horns of the altar.
Thou art my God, and I will praise thee: thou art my God, I will exalt thee.
O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.
Kim, Corning, NY. “Strengthen the weak hands, and make firm the feeble knees. Say to those who have an anxious heart, “Be strong; fear not! Behold, your God will come with vengeance, with the recompense of God. He will come and save you.” (Isaiah 35:3, 4 ESV)

But I have trusted in your steadfast love; my heart shall rejoice in your salvation. I will sing to the Lord, because he has dealt bountifully with me. Psalm 13:5-6 ESV

He is your praise and He is your God, who has done for you these great and awesome works your eyes have seen. (Deuteronomy 10:21 HCSB)
What an amazing journey this year has been! After memorizing James last year I wanted to continue the blessing of memorizing scripture and so started the Siesta Scripture memory in January – little did I know that half way through the year I would be diagnosed with breast cancer (June 2013) only a month after my brother was diagnosed with ocular melanoma (May 2013). The verses The Lord gave me all throughout my journey (and to pass on to my brother) were so perfect for each stage I was in at the moment! God is amazing! I have been cancer free since July when I had a mastectomy and then went through chemo from August through the beginning of December. I just had my final reconstructive surgery last Friday (12/20/13) and am so happy to be DONE! Each verse I have received from The Lord had been exactly what I needed for that two weeks! Praise God and Beth, I can’t thank you enough for encouraging us and keeping us on track with our scripture memory! Have a very blessed and Merry Christmas!!

But I received mercy for this reason, that in me, as the foremost, Jesus Christ might display his perfect patience as an example to those who were to believe in him for eternal life.
This Scripture memory journey has been so precious to me this year. I have been able to use the verses I’ve memorized as an encouragement to my heart in one of the hardest years of my life. God’s word is powerful and it is TRUTH! I’m going to challenge myself (and the other ladies in our Bible study) to memorize 24 more verses next year. Thank you for the accountability and encouragement of posting the verses each week. So much love to you LPM ladies!
