This has been life-altering. I’ve been amazed at how personally the Lord has spoken to me this year through His Word, over and over, and how He has also used the verses He gave me for others. and made intercession for the transgressors

I had a mini stroke about 7 years ago now that erased a lot of my memory and has made memorizing anything, even remembering my own lifetime info almost impossible. I have been memorizing scripture literally my whole life (Got saved at age 4, raised in a strong Christian Home and love Jesus more than life itself!!) I am an AWANA Timothy award recipient, memorized whole Books of the Bible (Ephesians and Philippians) and had many favorite verses all hidden in my Heart. Then the stroke happened and I lost it all! Some of my memories come back with triggers, but most are just gone and I have to struggle to retain new memories. All that to say that this year, a friend asked me to do your Siesta Sister challenge with her and we have faithfully been each others accountability partner all year. Most of the verses I chose are ones I had previously memorized and lost. I cannot honestly say I have them all memorized, but I can say I faithfully studied them and worked on them. Considering repeating the same verses for next year maybe mixing up the order so I can try to really get them solidly in this fragile mind. The challenge kept me consistent and I enjoy reading my fellow Siesta Sisters verses each time. Thank you for leading us in this wonderful challenge.

For we hold that a man is justified and made upright by faith independent of and distinctly apart from good deeds (works of the Law).
