DEAR SIESTAS! THE MERE THOUGHT OF YOU IS MAKING ME GO ALL-CAPSY.
It has been FOREVER and then some but I have been thinking about you. I know I haven’t been in this here blog-space much recently but I can assure you that I’m still at LPM. My days are full since I’m working and going to school part-time. AGAIN. Yes, again. Somehow even when I vow to walk away for good, I end up right back in the classroom in some capacity. This time around I’m working slowly on a M.A. in Biblical Languages at Houston Baptist University. When I’m not researching something for a project at LPM, I’m taking a Greek class in the Septuagint and a Hebrew readings class in the Joseph narrative. Oh, and how could I forget to mention Winston Jeffrey Fitzpatrick?! A little over a year ago Colin brought home a baby rottweiler and our life has never been the same since (even when I desperately want it to be!). Winnie is SO, SO bad but we love him madly.
Here is W posing in my dining room. Or demanding a filet mignon cooked over medium, I’m not really sure.
Here he is again furious about having to wear his birthday hat:
But really, enough about us.
I want to talk about YOU and a fall giveaway we are doing because we love you and appreciate you.
Now, I should mention at this point that if you are one of those people who is SO OVER all the talk about pumpkin-flavored anything, then you will want to run for your life.
RUN FOR YOUR LIFE.
Do I have a faithful fall remnant?
This weekend we had our first legit “cold-front” here in Houston. It was even down in the forties one night. Glory be! The crisp cold air in my lungs got to me in the best way possible and, of all things, I wanted to cook. There’s just something about fall that always brings me back to the kitchen. Nothing better than listening to a little Norah Jones or The Civil Wars with the windows cracked open, cool breeze dancing through the house, while a chili or stew simmers on the stove. I thought just maybe fall might do the same for some of you so the grand prize winner will get a redย Le Creuset signature round dutch oven (red not orange like the one on the box).
I love it passionately and do not want to let it go. I even enjoy posing with the beloved dutch oven:
The second prize to be claimed is a $100 gift card to Pottery Barn because, let’s be honest, Pottery Barn during the fall season is heaven on earth:
Gift number 3 includes an amazing decorative pillow, fall flower arrangement, and Hill Country Home candle.
Gift number 4 includes a fun little clutch from Anthro, a scarf, several pairs of boot socks, and some gorgeous MAC makeup in fallish colors.
Here is Lindsee modeling the scarf. Love her and she can work a scarf better than anyone I know:
This MAC stuff is tough to photograph but fantastic (includes three eye shadow kits and two lipsticks in shades of Russian Red and Viva Glam III).
Gift number 5 has a bunch of fun stuff: Cook’s Illustrated Fall Entertaining magazine, kitchen towels, mulling spices, Hill Country Home candle (again this is one of my faves!), autumn cupcake decorating set, beautiful engraved silver dish, Trader Joe’s Pumpkin bread mix, and more.
Gift number 6 comes with a fun autumn welcome mat, potpourri, decorative kitchen towel, and my favorite ever mulled apple cider candle. DIVINE.
Here is Mom sorting out all the gifts. Isn’t she cute?
So dear friend, for a chance to win one of the six prizes, please leave a comment with your first and last name and tell us something you love about fall.
We love you so much,
Melissa

Paula Brame – I love fall for the cool air it brings with it. Of course, there is football, pots of chili, gumbo, all kinds of soups and the shorter days. Our heavenly Father creates such a beautiful masterpiece with the beautiful fall colors and beautiful blue skies. Always so thankful for His many blessings!
Fall reminds me of home, leaves burning, just being with family.
Bonfires and football games. Sitting outside with a sweater on
And rocking on the porch just enjoying the crisp weather. Makes
Me appreciate all God has created.
I love the cool crisp weather when it finally gets here in the south ๐ I love the warm rich colors of fall! I love love love Thanksgiving…turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes…need I say more!!
Blessings!!

I love the fall colors and cooler weather.
I love fall because everything feels so new and fresh and because that means its almost my favorite Holidays-Thanksgiving and Christmas. It also means, fires in the fireplace, chili, football and of course the wonderful smell of leaves burning ๐
I love love love the smells of fall!!
I’d have to say my favorite part of fall is soup weather ๐ That and football – not because I like football, but I like the social aspect of it!
Kelsey Buntjer
I am a pumpkin lover! Pumpkin pies, scones, lattes, candles, soups…I love pumpkin like Bubba loves shrimp! (Forrest Gump anyone?)
Love the cooler weather and the fall colors.

Fall is my favorite time of year. The smell of the leaves on the ground, the colors in the trees, the cooler air…and…I love everything pumpkin! My husband and I also love to sit on the beach when the air is cooler and stronger. Fall seems to bring me to a place of rest. Somehow it is the season that I know things will begin to slow down for me. Not so much in my day to day activity…but in my heart, mind and soul. It brings reflection. Most people reflect at the end of the year but I seem to do it in the Fall. Somehow I feel closer to the Lord during this season. God bless you all!
Suzanne
I’m Jackie Woods and my favorite thing about fall is being with my little family. With days being shorter we spend more time watching movies, cooking and reorganizing for the holidays!
One of the things that signals fall to me is putting a blanket back on the bed. Instead of trying to stay cool in the summer I can now snuggle up and stay warm!
I love fall because, here in San Antonio, when you get to your car after work you can drive home without the steering wheel burning your hand!
Fall is crisp falling leaves’ glorious sunsets, and off course autumn moons. These are my favorite thing the Lord made. Of course a pumpkin latte would wrap it all up.
Thanks for all yall do!!! Finishing breaking free at church.
Its been a really tough study, but we all know we want to be free.
I love the crispness of the air. The smell of the autumn leaves and the warm fireplace inside comfort me this time of year. Football and other fall activites bring fun to my husband and I. We also enjoy having others over for fall foods such as caramel apples, hot apple cider, and pumpkin pies.
I love the LEAF PILE JUMPING!!!
Soooo many fond memories of:
*making the largest pile EVER (each year) and
*jumping in the middle of it with family (cousins, siblings, children)and
*riding through them with bikes
OHH SUCH FUN!
*taking pictures of the festivities
One of my favorite things about fall is the burst of color God blesses us with right before the world (or at least Iowa) turns white!
Jessica Mullins… I love that I fell in love in the fall… tall boots… fuzzy socks… that college basketball season is around the corner… and candy corn!
Hi…
Living in FL, sandals are a must have outfit attire.
So when the weather gets cool (below 80), I love to break out the boots & a cute dress. Fall also allows us Floridians to accessorize with a (lite-weight) scarf.

I love when fall arrives….the colors, the crisp air, an excuse to bake everything pumpkin, and soup. What is not to love?? ๐
My favorite things about fall are anything pumpkin flavored, especially pumpkin pie and getting outside more with my boys. We actually had our very first camping experience this weekend when the cold front came through ๐
Fall is my favorite season and I love just about everything about it. The colors, crispness in the air, scarfs(!), pumpkin everything!
I really enjoy the cooler crisp weather in the fall, but my favorite part of fall is Thanksgiving and spending time with family and friends.
Fall is my favorite season!! It brings back deeply embedded and cherished childhood memories! I grew up in Ohio where the aroma of the turning of the leaves filled the air. The vibrant colors were all around. I remember my father raking the leaves that fell into our yard into piles only to have us kids run and jump into each and every one of them! Just that memory alone stirs the memories so deeply in my heart! I can still hear the sounds of the leaves as I landed into the neatly stacked pile, I can smell the richness of the aroma, and can still feel the happiness that remains in my heart of those fall days from long ago!
I love fall! The sweatshirts, pumpkin lattes, backyard football games, bonfires, apple cider and as we go into November thoughts turn toward family and Thanksgiving, making our homes cozy for the winter, baking yummy treats and remembering to be thankful for Gods blessings. I am reminded the next two months can sometimes be over whelming to some who have lost someone special or maybe even a job, or to those who put so much time into making everything “perfect” they can’t find the joy they once had or lose sight of it in the midst of twinkle lights and turkey. Let’s all try to be a blessing to whomever God puts in front of us. <3
This is by far my favorite season. It’s cool, there’s a beautiful beech tree in my yard that turns gloriously yellow. We get to have a fire in the fireplace every night now, I love the coziness and the COLORS of fall.
I love Autumn. The world seems to slow down. The colors of the leaves are breath taking. Isn’t God wonderful to give us all this beauty!
Getting to wear my awesome boots and Fall clothes!! YES, gotta love them!
Fall is my absolute favorite season. I can’t even begin to describe why I love it. I can only think of one thing when thinking about this fall. It makes me want to run outside, throw my hands in the air, and shout praises to God. Every day makes me want to do that, but especially fall. God’s creativity is so amazing in the fall, and I absolutely love it!
Family, Family, Family! I love Fall, not only for the cool weather (which is so treasured in TX), but for the fact that family time is just around the corner. As a full time student I so value to the days I can be back home with family! I’m already counting the days! ๐

I love the changing leaves – especially maple leaves. God blessed me with an enormous maple tree in my front yard and it never fails to leave me awe struck with its splendor. My birthday is in the fall, so I consider this tree my birthday present from God. ๐ Hope that’s not sketch theology. ๐ Bless you!
I love pumpkin spice lattes, the crisp air, the beautiful colors of fall leaves, fall comfort foods like chili, sitting by a fireplace, & baking anything pumpkin! I love all of God’s special blessings during this season!
I love fall because of the cooler weather and the glorious colors!
My name is Ashlyn Roberts.
I really enjoy the cool weather. I like wearing sweaters to church and boots and fall walks with my husband and apple picking! I really love fall! And of course those pretty fall colors!
the coolness in the air, the color of the leaves, pumpkins, I grew 13 of them from just two plants in my garden this summer and most of them were huge. There is just something about fall that helps me to slow down and take in the Lord’s goodness. God is good!
I love fires in the fire place and beautiful trees! Thanks for hosting such a fun giveaway!
What I love most about fall are my children. Three of the four of them were born in the fall and it always brings back such wonderful memories of welcoming new life into my family. I also love the punkins! Both the ones sitting outside and inside my house and the awesome foods and drinks that come from them!
Sharon Meekins
I love fall colors (leaves) and anything pumpkin!
I love taking walks inthe fall & watching the leaves fall. God paints such a beautiful picture this time of the year.
Cheryl Cannon – Concord, NC
One of the things I like most about fall is the leaves. Here in NC we are blessedbto see many beautiful fall colors in the leaves. But, one of the things I like most about them is watching them fall to the ground. Often I will watch one as it twirls and swirls around falling down and I think wow that’s the first time that leaf has gotten to do that. I wonder how it feels? If leaves were to have feelings I guess they wold have waited their whole lives to do that one thing.
Our Biblestudy group is in the middle of Beth’s Revelation study and it makes me think of the 24 elders falling before the throne of God. Guess I’m waiting my whole life to get to do it with them too!
Love you girls – such an inspiration and encouragement to so many of us. We are thankful for you!
I love the fall because it brings back memories of going back to school after Labor Day, football games, cooler temps (so I can bake!) and of course seeing the results of God’s paintbrush! The gorgeous colors of fall!!
I love everything there is about Fall! The leaves changing colors, SEC football (WAR EAGLE/bless their hearts), fire pits a blazin!, food, food and more food, soups (yes i know it’s food but it’s a different catagory haha), and Thanksgiving….the excuse to get your whole family together and pig out and no one is excused from missing !
Thanks for this awesome giveaway!
Juli
I’ve never understood why people don’t love fall! I love the vivid color of the trees, the cold front blowing in, baked apple smells, the sound of crinkly leaves being raked up, and the anticipation of Christmas shopping. Fall teases all the senses!
I love fall and the cold weather cooking it provokes…that includes all things pumpkin, spice and things topped with gravy.
Heather Wyble
I love fall because of the cooler weather and being able to wear boots and sweaters!! We don’t get that luxury that often in Texas!! : )
The crisp cool air that fall brings! Makes it perfect football weather and the opportunity to wear those great warm cozy sweaters we have had put up all summer long and dont forget the boots.. gotta have the boots!. Of course the ever changing fresh pictures that God chooses to paint with the autumn colors, provided you are fortunate enough to live where there are hardwood trees. It is also a reminder to me of the seasons of life that we go through.
I love the cool crisp days and always look forward to making our family favorite Pumpkin Crunch Dessert.
-Michelle
Melissa! How kind & generous! This is over the top! A Creuset dutch oven? You are killing me!!! And my kitchen is RED!
I love FALL gardening because I donโt die from the humidityโฆand my collard greens and Savoy cabbage are gorgeous right now.
I love you โ this makes me wish you were 90 miles north of me on I-75
Mrs. Jan
PS: My birthday cometh this month โ another thing I love about fall!!!
I love everything about fall! The smell of the air and the beautiful leaves and sky. I have also seen some of the most magnificent sunsets in fall! Praise God for his craftmanship!
I LOVE the cooler temperatures, the beautiful colors, the hot cider & warm apple donuts from our local orchard, hay rides, and pumpkin EVERYTHING!
