DEAR SIESTAS! THE MERE THOUGHT OF YOU IS MAKING ME GO ALL-CAPSY.
It has been FOREVER and then some but I have been thinking about you. I know I haven’t been in this here blog-space much recently but I can assure you that I’m still at LPM. My days are full since I’m working and going to school part-time. AGAIN. Yes, again. Somehow even when I vow to walk away for good, I end up right back in the classroom in some capacity. This time around I’m working slowly on a M.A. in Biblical Languages at Houston Baptist University. When I’m not researching something for a project at LPM, I’m taking a Greek class in the Septuagint and a Hebrew readings class in the Joseph narrative. Oh, and how could I forget to mention Winston Jeffrey Fitzpatrick?! A little over a year ago Colin brought home a baby rottweiler and our life has never been the same since (even when I desperately want it to be!). Winnie is SO, SO bad but we love him madly.
Here is W posing in my dining room. Or demanding a filet mignon cooked over medium, I’m not really sure.
Here he is again furious about having to wear his birthday hat:
But really, enough about us.
I want to talk about YOU and a fall giveaway we are doing because we love you and appreciate you.
Now, I should mention at this point that if you are one of those people who is SO OVER all the talk about pumpkin-flavored anything, then you will want to run for your life.
RUN FOR YOUR LIFE.
Do I have a faithful fall remnant?
This weekend we had our first legit “cold-front” here in Houston. It was even down in the forties one night. Glory be! The crisp cold air in my lungs got to me in the best way possible and, of all things, I wanted to cook. There’s just something about fall that always brings me back to the kitchen. Nothing better than listening to a little Norah Jones or The Civil Wars with the windows cracked open, cool breeze dancing through the house, while a chili or stew simmers on the stove. I thought just maybe fall might do the same for some of you so the grand prize winner will get a redΒ Le Creuset signature round dutch oven (red not orange like the one on the box).
I love it passionately and do not want to let it go. I even enjoy posing with the beloved dutch oven:
The second prize to be claimed is a $100 gift card to Pottery Barn because, let’s be honest, Pottery Barn during the fall season is heaven on earth:
Gift number 3 includes an amazing decorative pillow, fall flower arrangement, and Hill Country Home candle.
Gift number 4 includes a fun little clutch from Anthro, a scarf, several pairs of boot socks, and some gorgeous MAC makeup in fallish colors.
Here is Lindsee modeling the scarf. Love her and she can work a scarf better than anyone I know:
This MAC stuff is tough to photograph but fantastic (includes three eye shadow kits and two lipsticks in shades of Russian Red and Viva Glam III).
Gift number 5 has a bunch of fun stuff: Cook’s Illustrated Fall Entertaining magazine, kitchen towels, mulling spices, Hill Country Home candle (again this is one of my faves!), autumn cupcake decorating set, beautiful engraved silver dish, Trader Joe’s Pumpkin bread mix, and more.
Gift number 6 comes with a fun autumn welcome mat, potpourri, decorative kitchen towel, and my favorite ever mulled apple cider candle. DIVINE.
Here is Mom sorting out all the gifts. Isn’t she cute?
So dear friend, for a chance to win one of the six prizes, please leave a comment with your first and last name and tell us something you love about fall.
We love you so much,
Melissa

I love fall! I love all the holidays and getting to spend time with our families:) I love getting to wear the fall apparel and seeing all the beautiful trees change colors. The weather is so fun during the fall, the cool air and even the cool breeze. We also enjoy going to college football games in the fall and getting to spend time with great friends .
One of my favorite things about fall is our annual familiy “fall party” at my parents farm where i grew up. All the family comes…we roast weiners, drink hot chocolate, eat yummy desserts and enjoy many laughs. Decor always involves bales of straw, pumpkins lights, and a campfire…BUT the hightlight, one i’ve enjoyed since childhood, the singing…my grandma passed down several silly songs and some good ol’ classics such as Amazing Grace that she, my mom and aunt only sing, as it’s a tradition…and beautiful.
Hi! My name is Amy Wyler and I LOVE fall for SOOO many reasons. Cozy warm homes, candles, fireplaces, hearty dinners, crisp air, all things pumpkin and a spirit of Thanksgiving that hangs over all the fall days. Thanks for the giveaway!! Prayerfully I win. Lol

Amy
I love fall because it brings the best holidays with it.
And the trees are beautiful this time of the year.
Minnesotas beautiful fall colors…. Indescribable, glorious!!!
Kelli Smith
I love fall because of the leaves changing the cooler weather and its the starting of the holiday season which means more time with family which means the most to me because then I get to see all 4 boys!
Nothing better than the crispness of the Day first thing in the morning witha BIG mug of coffee drinking in the glory of God– listening to the birds and enjoying all the wonderful fall Colors of the trees!
What I love most about Fall… I don’t think I could pick just one things as it is my all time favorite time of the year. I am blessed to live in New England where the Fall colors are just magnificent. When the leaves change color I am reminded just what an Artist our God is. He splashes colors of red, orange, yellow and variations of all three to announce He is the Creator! There is a smell in the air that only comes in the Fall, its a rich perfume that can only be described as the earth itself giving up a fragrance offering to is Creator. Add to that the crunch of the leaves on the ground a music fit for the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Oh how I love the Fall!!!
I love fall bc it is a time to hibernate. No, not as an escape but for growth. I also LOVE the leaves changing on the east coast and remembering the nostalgic moments of when I was a child. I want to capture new memories for my children. Memories like playing the leaves, rolling down the hill and coming inside for some homemade apple cider.
Thank you for this opportunity!
Margie Mason
I love the smell of autumn & the crunch of leaves under my feet.
Lohri Williams
I love the cool weather of autumn.
I love the cool air that ushers in the fall (although I live in TX and we’ve only had 2 or 3 days like that so far). I love watching my son breathe heavy outside on cool days trying to “see his breath”. I love the holidays that bring family together and has everyone gathering in the kitchen. Thanks for the opportunity to win one of these great prizes!!
I love fall because here it is such a great reminder of God. We get to watch the leaves change and make everything beautiful. Then as the air cools I can make a big pot of chili and the family gathers to enjoy. Everything feels comfy and cozy and I know winter is on the way with snow days spent with a fire and good book and snuggling on the sofa with hot chocolate!
I LOVE fall!!!!! I love “colder” weather (Baton Rouge only gets so cold), boots, scarves, egg nog, pumpkin pie, Gumbo, long talks with friends over coffee! The smell of fall opens my sinuses & clears my senses. For some reason it it reminds me of fresh starts. π
I love fall in here Colorado, because of the beautiful sunrises and sunsets…somehow they are different then, and because there is finally snow on the mountains again, and they are so beautiful!
We love getting together with our families at Thanksgiving. Also, each year at this time, I love going to Cheesecake Factory with my daughter-in-law and grandkids.
Kris Conant in Westbrook, Maine.
I love the crispness of the air. I love the change of colors in the trees. Fall is just a wonderful time of the year. And now made extra special because I just became a first-time grandmother yesterday!
Also looking forward to seeing Beth in Lewiston, Maine, on Friday and Saturday!!
I love seeing the the beauty that God created as the trees change colors.
Laura Tuel
I live in West Virginia and the fall is absolutely beautiful and breath taking. I love the mountains covered in colors. I also very much enjoy the 70 degree weather and after school snacks on the back porch soaking it in!
What awesome giveaways! I’ve always loved Fall, but this Fall will forever be my favorite. After 6 years of infertility, I’m due with twin girls any day now. I’m so thankful for how the Lord has answered our prayers and I cannot wait to hold our miracles in my arms!
Faith Stilwell
Karen Ledbetter….. I love all the different colors of Fall and I love all the different soups and stews that I get to eat. Need that pot!!! Lol
I love the cooler weather that Fall brings. The fireplaces blazing and warm scarves…brings back the best childhood memories. When the leaves change you know it’s going to be a great winter!
I love the brilliant colors that God so artfully uses in the Autumn. I love getting together with family and snuggling with my husband. But as I get older I love being rminded that the Autumn (in nature and in life) is nothing to be feared but a glorious shout out to the Creator who loves us, cares for us and promises wonderful re-birth even in dying.
I love being able to say “Happy Fall Y’all” and annoying all the northerners that I happen to live among right now. Just Kidding! I love the smell of the fallen leaves and the sound they make as I rustle through them. I’m back in the north after living in the south for 40 years and had really forgotten those 2 senses associated with fall.
Here in Colorado, fall means first snow of the season, golden aspens and temperatures that go from 80 degrees to 30 degrees in the blink of an eye. It’s a season of change, gearing up for the quiet blanket of winter. I enjoy the unpredictability of it — walking out in the sunshine one day and curling up at the fireplace the next.
…Fall…..a significant change in seasons, the colors, my anniversary season, the paradox of falling leaves that bring new life in the spring, blankets, snuggles, dark evenings, family
Well, I so love that bird pillow and some of the other gifts you are giving away. So happens, that this year at our ladies brunch at church we are using birds as our decor. I love the Bible verse: I will take refuge in the Shadow of Your Wings Psalm 57:1.
About Autumn: It reminds me of Godβs love this is how I describe itβ¦
I am like a fallen leaf blown into the wind,
Whirling around with no place to land
Then, God reaches out His hand
And He catches me,
But instead of crushing me,
And throwing me away__
He glues me into His scrapbook
To keep me in His memory.~joyce
I don’t know if this post made it through the first time.
Jessica Bufkin–Starbucks red cups, nearly everyone in my family was born during the fall, scarves, and really good hair days. π
I love everything about fall. It is my favorite season. I fI have to narrow it down though I love the beauty and warmth of the season. Pennsylvania has to have some of the most beautiful scenery, God ever created, in the fall!!!
I love the beautiful colored leaves on the trees. I also love raking the leaves into a large pile so my two young kids can play in them. I have some great photos of them playing in the leaves together. Jennifer Driskell
Madelyn Crawley
It’s so hard to choose a favorite thing about fall! However, pumpkin spice lattes from Starbucks and leather boots would have to be at the top of my list!
I use to love fall better than anytime of the year, but this year I have went through so much and all seemed so dark and cold. I couldnt see the colors and enjoy fall activities.. But now I am seeking medical help and I still have much “HOPE” in Autumn and I am starting to see the colors of the trees and the leaves are falling and I can now feel the cold breeze and beautiful colors again.. Thank you LORD Jesus for sticking with me and helping me<……….. Bobbi Kentucky.
Katie Rosenbaum
I especially love the colors of fall! And the feeling of crisp air on my skin! π
What do I love about Fall?
Two words:
COLLEGE FOOTBALL!
GO GATORS and SIC ‘EM BEARS!!!
Leigh Ehrhardt
Going to my boss’s Halloween Party and seeing all the cute children coming to get candy! Yes, I ate some!!
Starbucks’ pumpkin spice lattes! Need I say more?! π
It’s fall in a cup!
I love the changing leaves, cooler temps, and all the yummy baked goods that come with fall
I love fall because of how the chill in the air balances out the hot flashes in my bones.
But also for the bonfires in the backyard, how playful and frisky our dogs get outside when the weather turns cool, listening to the crunch of the leaves under teenagers throwing footballs back and forth, the colors (oh the colors!) the trees turn here in north Georgia… the deep reds and bright yellows… God’s handiwork is so gorgeous.
And last, but certainly not least, good hair days!!!
(so long humidity, see ya next summer)
My favorite thing about fall is the State Fair of Texas! I go every year and I’m a bit fanatic about it π
Cooler temperatures, brilliant colors on our trees, pumpkin spices in the air, apple picking, hayrides, bonfires, neighbors in fellowship because the bugs are gone and temps are pleasant, soup, socks, sweats, sweets wrapped in autumn colors, little darlings trick or treating with their parents, more friendships made. What’s not to love about fall!!! Thank you God for seasons!
Fall is my favorite time of year for so many reasons! My birthday is in October and becomes a month-long celebration. Add to that the outstanding color changes here in the Midwest. God’s creativity shows in the changing of seasons. Thanks for your prize drawing. I love LPM so much!
I absolutely love the changing colors of the leaves and the crispness of the air! I also love getting together with family. I can’t wait to experience it this year with my little guy!! π
Brooke Davis
Fall…I love the way she moves me, toward sentiment and comfort and spice and cozy. Her color reminds me that even in the dying, in shedding of life and light, Glory blazes and God draws ever near, a promise that He’s just not done yet.
*And THIS fall, I am loving walking through the Deuteronomy series with LPM. Thank you for all you do!
Grace & Peace,
Erica
Even though I don’t relinquish my relationship with coffee during the summertime, Fall brings in that welcome chill that is so delightfully removed with a steaming cup of coffee. Fall gives me the opportunity to wear three quarter or long sleeve tops that loving encapsulate my less than chiseled upper arms. This is also the time of the year when my pups push in a little closer around me in bed.
I LOVE FALL!! I love color so I think my most favorite thing about Fall is all of the beautiful colors that the Lord displays……EVERYWHERE….from leaves on trees, to pumpkins & gourds!!!
I love the changing of the leaves and a trip to the Smoky Mountains with my sweethearts. π Aishlea Spurgin
I love fall because when my middle daughter was in elementary school she would always say when she was outside in the beginning of fall how much she loved fall because it smelled so good. So I have always loved the smells of fall too. She made me appreciate fall so much… From the mouths of babes.
I love fall because of the changing colors of the leaves, and the cooler weather…bringing out the sweatpants and sweatshirts.
Love all the fall colors!
Fall is my favorite time of year. I love the burst of colors on the tree, the cool crisp air, a fire in the fireplace again, and pulling out my favorite sweaters and boots again! Kelly Keller
