Update: The comments are now closed! I’ll see you tomorrow morning as we reveal our TEN winners. Have a great day, ladies!
Siestas!
Happy middle-of-the-week to each of you!
It is a beautiful day here in Houston! It’s almost perfect spring weather, which is a compete treat especially compared to the weather we’ve endured recently. It’s either been really hot and humid (shocker!), or really nasty thunderstorms. In fact, yesterday was 100% chance of rain all day and it did just that. The best part about the rainy days at LPM are our shoes; three of us chose to trade in our typical work shoes for rain boots yesterday and it was a cute sight, if I do say so myself. We were giddy. Y’all, it really is the small things. I hope wherever you are, despite your weather or circumstances, you’re able to find delight in something as small as rain boots, silly or small as they may seem.
Anyway, can you believe it’s already been a week since our last giveaway? All of the sudden I realized today was the day to reveal our next fun giveaway so my fingers went to typing. It snuck up on me!
Do y’all remember (and I bet you do because it happened to be a pretty popular post and you also happen to have a sharp memory), when our Siesta Mama asked you to share with each other something really random that you love? That particular day she was gushing over her Bible atlas and felt the urgent need to share with you the joy it brings her. I distinctly remember her telling me she was posting a fun, random blog that day so that I could be watching for comments, and watch for comments I did! Y’all didn’t just come through; y’all went above and beyond with over one thousand comments or something fun like that. We were really tickled! Needless to say, people are passionate about things they love.
To refresh your memory, here is a picture of the Bible atlas.
To make a really long story short (I know, I love words), B&H Publishing Group was really generous and sent us ten Holman Bible Atlases to give away on our blog, just like the one she gushed over! Y’all, how kind was that? So, today not just one, but ten of you will be receiving this amazing Bible atlas.
This is the box of atlases sitting in my office.
For a chance to win here is what you need to do:
1) Make sure your comment has your first and last name.
2) Please comment only one time to give everyone a fair chance.
3) For fun, and you don’t have to do this to win, but it would be really fun to hear, if you could give away one book to anybody, what would it be?
4) Lastly, your comment on this post automatically enters you into this contest. So if you are not interested in winning a Bible atlas, please hold your comments until after the winner is selected. This will help us as we randomly select our winners. Thank you so much!
That’s all ladies! We’ll keep comments open for 24 hours and close the giveaway at 4:00 EST Thursday afternoon.
Also, like I’ve stated before, Australia is 16 hours ahead of Houston time, so when Beth and Amanda wake up it’ll be time to start the second conference. I know for a fact Beth and the team would covet each of your prayers as they labor with joy to teach God’s Word and share His gospel with this next group of ladies. If you’ve been following them on twitter, it’s been obvious that God has blessed their time there. In fact, I saw that they got to feed kangaroos. How fun is that? I’m with you, though, I can’t wait to hear and read all about it upon their return. Let’s pray they end strong in Jesus name!
Alright, ladies, time to hear from you! Be sure to check back Friday morning as I reveal our winners!
Have a wonderful Wednesday!
I have always loved the books I read to my children when they were young. My favorite book is “Guess How Much I Love You” by Sam McBratney. Spending quality time reading to them helped build the relationship we have today. They have grown into loving caring teens who always say I love you even when we are in a public setting which by todays standards is a rarity. These are my most precious memories. Michele Farthing
I would love to personally give a Bible to a persecuted or “underground” Christian in a foreign country who is hungry for God’s Word, but does not own a Bible. (I am going to make a reading list from some of the other Siesta’s suggestions, too! LOL!) Jamie Wyatt
Oh how fun! If I could give any book away I think it’d be Bob George’s Classic Christianity. That threw me on the path of understanding God’s incredible grace!
I’m praying for your girls and I would give away a copy of the Jesus Calling Devotional for Kids by Sarah Young to another mom. My son loves for me to read this to him every night. (and he’s almost 12!)
Hard to choose just one…Mark of the Lion Series by Francine Rivers
Bobbie Lutz
I love to give books as gifts for no particular reason!!! The Bible would be my first choice, but Beth’s So Long Insecurity would be another.
If I was giving away one of my books…it would have to be “One Thousand Gifts”. This was an easy choice because I have already given several copies of this book to people because my life has not been the same since reading it.
I am making a list of the recommendations written here, because they all sound so good and I love love love reading!
I would pass on “Praying God’s Word”because there is so much in the book that helped me through some tough times and helped me know that I was not the only one and that I too could make it through. Thank you for writing it.
I would love to give the book – My Utmost For his Hightest.
Becki Larson
Crazy Love by Francis Chan or Radical by David Platt
You are so adorable, all of you at LPM. Anyway if I could I would give one to my friend Kelly. She loves books and she would devour this one.
Mary Heidelberger
I love give aways and would love the Bible Atlas.
I have lots of favorites to give away and usually give a book from the Beth study just done….Beth’s Believing God devotional has been my favorite lately.
Some books just speak to you and this one did it for me…Healing Stones, A Sullivan Crisp Novel by Nancy Rue and Steve Arterburn.
Pam Carrigan
I would love a Bible Atlas! Just this morning as I was reading my Bible in a year plan I wished I had a map to really understand how much the Israelites wandered in 40 years!
Other than the Bible, the book I would give away is “A Voice in the Wind” by Francine Rivers.
Thanks!
Currently the book I would love to give away is ‘Praying for your future husband: Preparing your heart for his’ By Tricia Goyer and Robin Jones Gunn Its come up the most lately talking to other singles in their mid twenties it was a great book and gave me a whole new perspective and I had never really thought about praying for my future husband until reading it.
Id give my My BFF Jill Olund this atlas.
I have given this book to two dear people in my life…Jesus Calling devotional by Sara Young. I have used it to share scripture with others & also in teaching the high school girls discipleship class at church. If you don’t have it, it’s a must & will be a blessing to you!!!!!
Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers runs a close 2nd!!!!
A couple of weeks ago my aunt found a book that my grandmother (who went to be with Jesus a year ago) had left just for me. She never told me about it, so I guess she just wanted us to “find it”. Inside she wrote “This book is for my Leisha Dawn”. My MeeMaw was a HUGE reader, she loved books. So I am absolutely beside myself to see which book she had thought was “the one Leisha would like”. So, my favorite book is one that I haven’t read, or even know the title of, but I am anxiously awaiting the postman to deliver “my favorite book” !!!
Joni Kerr
Probably “Sheperding a Child’s Heart” by Ted Tripp.
“I Will Carry You” by Angie Smith. My son was sick one night and I read that book as he slept in my lap! I went through a WHOLE box of tissues!
If I gave away a book other than my Bible, it might be My Utmost For His Highest. Can’t beat the classics sometimes 🙂
Shiffra Nimz. The Veritas Conflict by Shaunti Feldhahn
My book choice would be Jesus Calling by Sarah Young.
Thanks for all you ladies do!!!!
I have always loved the books I read to my children when they were young. My favorite book is “Guess How Much I Love You” by Sam McBratney. Spending quality time reading to them helped build the relationship we have today. They have grown into loving caring teens who always say I love you even when we are in a public setting which by today’s standards is a rarity. These are my most precious memories. To me it is not always which book you would choose to give someone, it is the thought/action of giving and encouraging other to be in the moment. Reading is a wonderful way of reconnecting.
AWESOME! I love resource maps when studying and teaching…hope I win. Thank you for offering the opportunity.
I suppose one of my all time favorite books is Redeeming Love, by Rivers.
Other than a really good study Bible, I’d give away Beth’s book “Praying God’s Word”.
If I could give away any book – if say it would have to be Beth’s ‘Believing God.’ It was a major turning point for my walk with God. LOVED it! After ‘Breaking Free’ of course!! 🙂 Thanks for these giveaways! 🙂 Even if I’m not chosen, it’s fun to enter!
I would have loved to give a book to Anne Frank and her family.
I have many books I like, but the first one that comes to mind is the children’s book “Terrible Things”, by Eve Bunting. It’s an allegory of the holocast, making the point that “the only thing necessary for evil to prevail is for good men to do nothing.” I wish everyone would read it.
I would give and have given “The Shack”. Thanks for a chance to win!!
Jayne Patterson
I would give “Praying God’s Word” by Beth Moore.
I would give away The Mark of the Lion Trilogy (okay, it is three books! sorry!) by Francine Rivers. LOVE her books, but these are especially great!
Too many books to chose from but the last one I read that I would love to buy copies and give away is “The Circle Maker” by Mark Batterson. It is an awesome book on the power of prayer.
A bible of course! Not mine though, know it sounds selfish, but actually had a dream the other night that someone was stealing a lot of my stuff, but I begged and cried “please don’t take my bible”. Just too many bible study notes with Beth and others in there. Part of my Christ journey -never want to part with that! I gladly purchase a copy for you 🙂
Wendy Karabensh
Two years ago a friend gave me “Come Away My Beloved” by Frances Roberts when I was dealing with having several surgeries. It meant so much to me that I bought several copies to share with other people.
(Make sure it is the “updated on today’s language” version.)
Love a give away! I would give the book “Created to be His Help Meet” by Debbi Pearl, to as many ladies as I could. It was a great book that blessed my marriage.
I love to give people Jesus Calling, but my favorite book to give away is Every Day I Pray For My Teenager by Eastman Curtis. Great book that covers almost every situation with scripture references built in to prayers. Love it!
I’m Tammy Skipper and if I could give one of these to anyone, it would be my sister who has five children so they could use it together.
There are sooo many and you want me to choose one??? Ok, well, this may seem a little weird but we are mainly women here. When I was a new mom, one book really helped me understand nursing babies and was really funny too! It’s called, “So That’s What They’re For”. I give it to all expectant moms!
If I could give away one book, it would be to a friend who recently accepted Christ as her Savior. We’re doing Mercy Triumphs, and I just found out that she’s been using the KING JAMES Bible for her studies!! Someone gifted me with a really nice Life Application NLT Bible, and I would love to get one for the friend. Money is a definite concern – so when and if I’m ever able – That is so happening! (For now, she’s using the online bible at youversion.com.) But still – there’s nothing quite like an ink and paper bible.
If I could give any book away, I would give “Praying the Scriptures for your Children” by Jodie Berndt. This book has been a blessing to me, praying for my children.
I am looking forward to seeing you here in Boise in May. 🙂
Sarah K. Marion.
The Bible would be my first book to give to someone. My second choice is Your Money Counts by Howard Dayton. A great book on character and how it relates to money.
Jenna smith
Recovery bible- its such a great way to get started in recovery and start reading the bible.
If I could give away one book to anyone, I’d give them “The Purpose Driven Life,” by Pastor Rick Warren. Thanks for this super giveaway, and the chance to win!
My daughter and I went to Israel for the first time last summer; I would love to relive my trip there through the maps and Biblical information in the Atlas. Other than the Bible, my favorite book to read last year was by Eric Metaxas (who also wrote the book, Amazing Grace). The title is Bonhoeffer: Pastor, Martyr, Prophet, Spy, about a German pastor, who did not shrink from sharing his faith during Hitler’s dictatorship, even when faced with the threat of death–very convicting to anyone who reads it; also, so exciting, couldn’t put it down.
I would give away Same Kind of Different as Me.
A Bible Atlas! Wow, what fun! I would give “Believing God Day by Day” by Beth. I love the bite sized daily devotions. It sits on my nightstand, and is the first thing I read each morning. Blessings everyone! 🙂
What a great prize!
I would give Same Kind of Different As Me by Ron Hall & Denver Moore.
~Beth Stafford
My name is Brooke Stover. If I could give away one book it would be The Five Love Languages. It quite possibly saved my marriage and I think every couple should read it. If I could give away one bible study book it would be the James bible study by Beth Moore. Definitely the best bible study I’ve ever done. 🙂
One of many books I would give away is “Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World.”
