Sammie Davenport of Sterling,Va 2 Timothy 2:22-25″… strive for righteousness, faith, love and peace… keep away from foolish and ignorant arguments; you know they end up in quarrels. As the Lord’s servant, you must not quarrel. You must be kind towards all, a good and patient teacher, gentle as you correct your opponents….” I have so loved and enjoyed the depth of strength this has added to my walk and everyday life!

Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.
(NIV)
Honestly, I haven’t done that well memorizing these verses. I lost my brother suddenly at the beginning of this year. My sister-n-law and the kids just wanted to grieve and be left alone even by now no matter what we’ve tried. The verses I’ve entered I’ve read and prayed to deal with my own grief in this time and keep faith. This particular verse Beth suggested applies well to me right now so that I stay out of the way with what I want to say and let God work. Thank you Beth for encouraging us this year, it’s meant SO much.
Truly a Merry Christmas, Happy Birthday Jesus!!!!
I’m so sorry for your loss!

Search me, O God, and know my heart!
Try me and know my thoughts!
And see if there be any grievous way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting!

What this has meant to me??? …..
PERSEVERANCE!

These verses have been something amazing to bring unity to some of the women of my family. For me these verses are great weapons in battle!

17 For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
Wendy Bashor from Lone Butte, BC: “For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, do not fear; I will help you.” Isaiah 41:13 NIV
SSMT and scripture memory has meant to me: fellowship (even tho’ I’ve never met any of you); getting closer to Jesus; and realizing when I need that scripture it’s right there and the Holy Spirit brings it forth!! Yeah! Amen
Jami Johnson TX age 32 Psalm 139:24 ESV And see if there be any grievous way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting.
This whole chapter is such medicine to my souls. When I feel, and I have, like I am nothing and rejection takes a toll over my heart. I am reminded that He, Jesus formed me carefully in my Mother’s womb. He has great purpose for my life. My most favorite is in verse 23 where it says “Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts.”Yes! Let it be. I want a life that he wants for me. I want to make Him proud that He had those thoughts and plans for me in My Mothers womb.

“Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life. Put away from you crooked speech, and put devious talk far from you. Let your eyes look directly forward, and your gaze be straight before you. Ponder the path of your feet; then all your ways will be sure. Do not swerve to the right or to the left; turn your foot away from evil.” (ESV)

For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
NKJV Isaiah 9:6
While I haven’t been great at memorizing, reviewing all the verses from this year, as well as two years ago, has been a great source of encouragement and a wonderful reminder that no matter what happens, God is in control and cares about us more than we can ever imagine and He wants what is best for us and His ways are always right even if we don’t always understand. Praise His Name!

I haven’t done a great job of memorizing all the passages but I’ve thought more about Scripture this year and what it means to me personally. So thankful He has given us His Word

Deborah Johnson from Odessa, Texas says: The verses that God has laid on my heart to memorize this year have been brought to my mind again and again to speak/share in situations which call for them. God is faithful and never lets His word return empty, so the verse Beth shared for week 24 falls right in with this theme: “Now then go, and I, even I will be with your mouth and teach you what to say.” Exodus 4:12 (NASB)

Whitney from Grovetown, GA, “But if you do what is wrong, you will be paid back for the wrong you have done. For God has no favorites.” Colossians 3:25 (NLT)
I memorized Colossians 3, which in my Bible is labeled “Living the New Life” and “Instructions for Christian Households.” God has been preparing our hearts for me to leave my lifelong dream job and be a stay at home mom. Yesterday was the last day at my job and I believe these Scriptures have spoken directly to some of the things we face- getting the right perspective (v. 1-3), how I should and should not act (v. 5-11), how to interact with family and be an example for and disciple my children (v.12-25).
To Him who is able to keep you from falling and to present you before His glorious presence without fault and with great joy – to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen.
Jude 24 NIV
Hiding His Word in my heart keeps me from sinning against Him.
Beverly – Jackson, TN
“Be on guard! Be alert! You do not know when that time will come. Its like a man going away: He leaves his house and puts his servants in charge, each with their assigned task and tells the one at the door to keep watch. …It will be good for that servant whose Master finds him doing so when He Returns.”
-MK 13:33-34; Matt. 24:46 NIV
This SSMT brought to me the awe of the utter weight of His Authority. Stark awareness that I was bringing His Own Authority to Him as I prayed: “YOU SAID I should know my assigned task so that You will find me doing it when You return.
I leave this last SSMT as a prayer that I will know my task, step into it in His perfect time, and be found doing it when He Returns!

What this has meant to me:
I am a gal who likes order. In this chaotic world we live in now, SSMT brings some discipline and order to life –with the added benefit of the peace and joy hiding the Word in my heart brings!
