He was in the beginning with God. John 1:2(NRSV)
While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal. I Cor. 4:18 nkjv

Psalm 19:7 ESV
The law of the LORD is perfect,
reviving the soul;
the testimony of the LORD is sure,
making wise the simple;
19 The righteous person may have many troubles,
but the LORD delivers him from them all;
20 he protects all his bones,
not one of them will be broken.
Psalm 34:19,20. NIV

“Teach them to your children. Talk about them wherever you are, sitting at home or walking in the street; talk about them from the time you get up in the morning until you fall into bed at night.”
Deuteronomy 11:19
From the Message translation
Scripture Memorization has planted God’s word into my very core. Unfortunately, I came to what I would call “active” faith later in life & did not teach God’s word to my children as they were growing up. They embrace & respect my faith but are on the sideline in their own lives. One of my greatest desires is that they won’t be late coming into their own relationship with Jesus & that I will live to see it for them as well as my precious grandchildren.
Beverly Reeder Columbus, Mis.
For the word of the Lord is right and true; he is faithful in all he does. Psalms 33: 4 NIV
But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, “God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble”.

Psalm 138:8 NLT
“The Lord will work out his plans for my life-
for your faithful love, O Lord,
endures forever.”
This year my memory verses have awakened within me to remember the promises that God has spoken into my life. Memorizing scripture is what holds my bones together. š

So many of my verses ironically when looking back have to do with focusing on the goodness of God and of his Faithfulness. Just yesterday my Mum, Janice, found out she has CLL leukemia/cancer. Not a very awful one but cancer is cancer. This is just devastating especially right before Christmas. I also live in the UK and am home in GA for Christmas so that is wonderful but it will be a trying year and having these verses written on my heart is balm to my soul. Please pray for her cancer and her salvation if you happen to read this one. I love you all so so much and I hope to still see you in Florida in February. XXOO Cindy
Cindy,
My amazing father has been living with CLL for over 10 years. His wise oncologist told him that something else would ‘get him’ before the cancer. Stress does make it worse so we, as a family, make sure to continue our positive attitudes and lighten his days as much as possible. His WBC count goes up and down, we used to freak out when it went up but no longer. My suggestion, talk to someone who’s well down the path on this journey and you will feel very encouraged.
Prayers for peace: Numbers 6:24-26
Cindy – I happened to read this one. And I am praying for Janice. Blessings, Sister.

What this means to me: To be honest, I would have never remembered to post my scripture without my dear friend reminding me every two weeks! So this is a testimony that we are better together and that locking arms with a dear sister in Christ can help you run faster and harder to your sweet Savior Christ Jesus! God made us for fellowship and accountability and it is GOOD and He is SUPREME! Ellie, with His help, we made it!
Jennie Marie Knoll, DeWitt, AR – Ephesians 4:32 (NIV) Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you

Psalm91 15-16 NASB
He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him and honor him. With a long life I will satisfy him. And let him behold my salvation.
This memory verse has helped me trust God more in my prayers, as a single mom, at work and it is deep in my spirit. The verse that most comes up for me is ā his faithfulness is a shield and bulwarkā my 6 year old Alyssa has it memorized as well and she also memorized psalm 23. We recite them both each night before bed together. So thankful for this ministry! Praying for each of you and that his word flourish in our hearts and minds to do Gods will in our communities. Love you! Yael and Alyssa

I am thankful to a good friend for introducing me to the Siesta Scripture Memory Verses for 2017. It has been wonderful reading and memorizing verses which I can apply to my daily life. It has made me more aware of God’s love for me.
Surely goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life
and I will dwell in the house
of the Lord forever.
Psalm 23:6, NIV

Memorizing these verses (especially Isaiah 61) has meant victory for me personally, in that itās been difficult for these verses to stick in years past. But it also reminds me of what the Lord is doing in my life after generations of unbelief. He is helping me take back enemy territory!

I can not put into a sentence or two what scripture memory has done for me this year. His word has been life and breath for me. I have soaked it up like a sponge. Thank you for leading us as we have feasted on His word.

Cleveland,Oh.
I admit I have not been committed to posting my verses on the blog, but I have been trying my best to keep all the verses every two week. The memorization has been so important(and necessary) to me.
I had no clue that stepping into this year I would experience the biggest change of my life, losing my dad.
The verses for Siesta as well as others I’ve read throughout the year have been a constant reminder & friend, comforting me when I needed them the most. Thank you Ms.Beth & the LPL/Sisters Siesta Team/Ministry for the encouragement to keep going when life wanted me to stop, and for making this available for us all to do together. God is so good, even(especially)in our brokenness.
Taste and see that the Lord is good, Blessed is the one who takes refuge in Him. Psalm 34:8
I am so sorry to hear of your dad’s passing š
That must have been painful. May the Lord continue to comfort you this coming year as you remember happy memories and let go of any painful ones.
Amen!

Thank you, Miss Beth, for this Scripture Memory Adventure, this year! I am So glad that the Holy Spirit has been with me, as I have been trying my best to hide these Scripture memory verses in my heart!Ā I have loved your heart for Jesus, ever since I my dear teacher friend, Shirley, convinced “to give your Bible study, ‘Believing God’, a try,” back in September, 2002! Praying for you and your precious family to have a very blessed Christmas season!
Thank you, Miss Beth, for all of your encouragement, for each one of us, to “keep trying” throughout this past year! It has made an incredible difference to me!

neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:39 NIV
Romans 8 may quite possibly be my favorite chapter in the entire Bible and now I have it memorized! Thanks to you, SSMT, I’ve been memorizing Scripture since January 1, 2013, continuing through the off years. I’ll keep working at it this year and I’m looking forward to seeing you all again in 2019! God bless!

“So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
Isaiah 41:10 NIV
p.s. I so appreciate “THE MOUTH” verses and have been praying recently for God to put a guard over my mouth as well as make the words of my mouth pleasing in His sight… Hence, the “strengthen and help you” verses above from Isaiah! Lord knows, I NEED HELP! LOL, but seriously!
Merry CHRISTmas and thank you Beth and the LPM team for all of your ENCOURAGEMENT in 2017!
Jodi. DFW TX
I canāt put words to what SSMT has meant this year. I was not able to memorize the verses word for word, funny things pregnancy and postpartum hormones along with sleep deprivation do to memory! BUT God gave me verses every few weeks like a gift directly from Him that I could carry and meditate on. When I needed it the most, He would put the meat of the verse on my heart to give me courage or peace to handle lifeās challenges. Or just in the middle of the day it was like He would stop me and whisper a love message, a reminder of the piece of His Word He picked, for me, to saturate my mind. It connected my heart to His, my mind to Him.
āAnd though the Lord give you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, yet your Teacher will not hide himself anymore, but your eyes shall see your Teacher. And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left.ā

“idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions”. Galatians 5:20 NIV
Having God’s words readily accessible in my mind has been a blessing so that I might share them with others in their time of need whatever the situation might be. That they hear his words not mine.

“If any of you need wisdom, as our generous God, and he WILL give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking”
James 1:5 (NLT)
– This has meant the world to me. It is the first time in my adult life, since becoming a Christian on July 1, 2003, that I can honestly say that I have committed to something in the Word and stuck with it. I prayed for self discipline (one of my verses … 2 Timothy 1:7) … and the Holy Spirit answered and helped me thru. PTL.

“Now therefore go, and I will be with your mouth and teach you what you shall speak.”

because I will need God to be with my mouth to accomplish Ephesians 4:29 (1-1-18)
Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths. but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.
NIV
So thankful for the encouragement of Beth and her team to put Scripture Memory at the top of our priority list and to get it “in our bones’ Each year, when I review my verses I am reminded of how God has been present in the time of each particular verse and how He used His word to work in my life. What an awesome way to go into a new year, knowing 2 Cor 1:10 (memorized in 2015) that He has delivered us and we can set our hope that He will continue to deliver us!!
All Praise and Glory to Him but much gratitude to those at LPM that do His work.
So sad I won’t be at the Celebration, but can’t justify the expenditures to get there in this season. Blessings to all.

āBehold, the Lordās hand is not shortened, that it cannot save, or his ear dull, that it cannot hear. Isaiah 59:1 ESV
This is the second time I have participated in SSMT. Both times I have been able to explore the Bible for a deeper meaning that I can internalize and carry with me. It is always so exciting and cool when I am in study with others or reading a devotional or listening to a sermon and I can say, āHey, I know that verse!ā Make a connection I didnāt have before.
