Good Thursday morning, ladies!
We pray all is well with you and yours this day.
Originally, we had the thought to post this on Monday, but then the big Winter Storm of 2014 blew in and kind of threw our system off kilter. We ended up posting information about Bible study instead, and the next day we hunkered down at our respective homes while the ice and snow barely reached the ground on Tuesday. Needless to say, things unexpected and unplanned for ended up swirling and here we are and it’s Thursday and I was not going to let this post go to waste.
If she comes to mind, you wouldn’t waste a prayer on Beth, or any of her family or LPM as she is preparing simultaneously for multiple teaching opportunities. Ones that have been on the calendar for well over a year, but the time is now so she’s neck deep in preparartion. I know I don’t have to tell you that she is one of the hardest workers I know which in return blesses us. We’re so grateful for your prayers and support. We love y’all so much.
So, onto Bible study! We usually don’t wait until nearly the end of January to hear from you about Bible study, but it’s better late than never, right?
Inquiring minds want to know, what Bible study are you digging into this semester? As we’ve mentioned here a few times, we just launched our Tuesday night Bible study titled: Breath: The Life of God in Us, but we want to know what you are up to?
How about we do this, tell us your name, your city and your Bible study of choice and if you’re going at it solo or with a group or leading or attending. There are countless studies out there today, so do not feel one ounce of pressure (and please do not hear us saying) that we only want to know if you’re doing a “Beth Moore” Bible study. It is our joy to hear all the different authors you are studying under!
We even want to hear from you if what you’re committed to this semester, or this year, is reading through the Bible in one year. That’s big, B I G, and we want to cheer you on and walk alongside you. Sometimes we’re not committed to something until we speak it out loud or write it down for someone else to see. A little accountability never hurt anyone!
To make it fun, I’ll go ahead and post my answer in the comments! I miss doing that!
This is short and sweet but we’ll look forward to hearing from you!
ROBIN from Orange city, Iowa Guiding a beautiful band of ladies…Twelve of us and we are “Stepping Up” these next few weeks….For some of us who have done it before, it is still very fresh and like the first time ever!! Praise Him for He is new ever morning and always faithful!!!
Linda, Johnstown, Pa.
I am doing “Jesus, The One and Only” with a small group of ladies on Thursday nights. We will be doing session 3 tonight. We love doing this study during the time between Christmas and Easter to focus us on what Jesus did for us.
Gina, Rosamond, Ca
Our church is reading the Old Testament together which is really cool!! I’m doing “Discerning the Voice of God” by Priscilla Shirer and “Women of the Bible” by Wayne Barber, Eddie Rasnake and Richard Shepherd. This is the first year we’re not doing a Beth study because they have done them all. Can’t wait for Fall, there’s a new one by Beth right??
Kay, Anderson, IN
I am doing The Law of Love from Beth on my own. Don’t have a Bible Study group here to join with so I am doing it on my own. My church, The Bridge Anderson, is doing some training sessions. One is on the Word and how to study for yourself. I am also participating in that. It’s hard to do alone, I am one who needs the conversation about what I am learning and being accountable to someone is always helpful. LOVE the Deuteronomy study!! So beautiful !!!
Kimberly, Fresno, CA
A group of ladies at my office are doing “Sacred Secrets” and I’m involved with some of those same ladies as we facilitate a Monday study of “Breaking Free”. It’s our 4th time leading the “Breaking Free” study and it’s always a blessing!
Group in Longview,TX finishing up Kelly Minter’s Nehemiah. Then, doing Margaret Feinberg’s Wonderstruck. Also doing Rick Warren’s Transformation with an online small group.
Kerry, Houston
Co-leading “David: Seeking a Heart Like His” with about 25 women at our church.
Attending “Breath: Life of God” with 5 dear friends.
I am currently participating in Wendy Pope’s Reading through the Word (Bible in one year) and Proverbs 31 online Made to Crave study.
Cheryl, Warsaw IN.
Attending a study by Lisa Bevere entitled “Girls With Swords” and it’s amazing!!!!
We have recently started a Beth Moore study on James, at my church. I am blessed at what I’ve learned already after lesson one. Beth is such a blessing to my walk with Christ. I’m always excited to open the first pages of a new study with her. She gets ‘down and dirty’ with the truth of His word. Love it!
I am Connie, I live in Suffolk, VA. I am studying Gideon by Priscilla Schirer. I am leading a group of women at our church. We are excited for the opportunity to study The Word together and see what God has for each of us in this study, in this stage of our lives.
Monica, Abbotsford, BC Canada
Leading 24 women (22-75 yrs old) through Living Beyond Yourself. We’ll do Revelation next and then 1 & 2 Thess in the Fall.
I am currently doing a small group study, The Cure, that Is so different than past studies I’ve done. I’m looking at my life to understand if I live in the room of grace or the room of good intentions. Reminded that God is on my side, loves me and doesn’t get mad at me. I can do nothing to make Him love me more or less. Also reading the bible through this year with two friends. Blessed.
At Sharon United Methodist Church, we’re studying Gideon by Priscilla Shirer! Awesome!
Leigh, Cypress, TX
Bible Study Fellowship

I am doing Precepts Romans part 4. I am reading through the Bible this year and this will be my 3rd year to read it through in one year! I lead a small neighborhood study and we are studying Prayer for the next couple months. In the summer, I will do one of the Beth Moore studies!
J.J. Ehr, Longmont, CO
I am part of a community Ladies’ Bible study in Malvern,AR. We are going through Priscilla Shirer’s Discerning the Voice of God. In February we will start Beth’s Jesus the One and Only.
Kristin A. in Cheney, WA studying Priscilla Shirer’s GIDEON with the Tuesday morning Women’s Bible Study at my church.
Having just studied GIDEON over the summer with Siesta Summer Bible Study (solo) it is wonderful to revisit it with a group. I did download a few of Priscilla’s videos over the summer, but now am able to watch them all plus have a wonderful group to study with. Between summer GIDEON and now GIDEON we did Beth’s DAVID. Having that sandwiched in between is fabulous as Priscilla mentions David often in the GIDEON study.
As GIDEON is a short one, after we finish up in a few weeks we are moving to Henry Blackaby’s EXPERIENCING GOD and then Beth’s SACRED SECRETS in the Spring. We meet each week to my delight. It keeps the continuity going and keeps us where we should be…in the Word.
Good Morning!… well it is still here π
I am involved in a small group with men & women, and we are studying the Names of GOD. Unfortunately I do not have the author’s name off hand, for the book; but the real author is JESUS CHRIST π
I am also reading through the Bible, but not in a year; I have been doing the book of Ezekiel for several months now.
Diana, Surrey, BC, Canada
I am reading through the Bible this year, while following along with βFor the Love of God: A Daily Companion for Discovering the Riches of God’s Word, Volume 1β. Iβve never read through the Bible before and this has been a wonderful challenge, especially while working two jobs. Itβs about 4 chapters from the Bible and a reading from this book each day.
I’m also doing a few different Bible studies from the Virtue for Women website. They are, what I like to describe as, ‘meaty’ Bible studies, really in depth. And I have also been doing a She Reads Truth devotional in the morning.
I have been praying for such a hunger for God’s Word and He has given it ten-fold. π
Mindy, Sackville, New Brunswick, Canada
1 – A woman’s heart – with a group of ladies from the church
2 – A study of Revelation with our church
3 – A study on the books of Ruth and Ester with our Sunday school group
4 – Reading the bible in a year
And whatever else I can get my hands on with whatever time I may have left.
Our ladies Bible study at The Heights in Richardson, TX is doing “Paul, To Live is Christ”. Just started this week and I’m so excited!
Love this! I’m studying through Romans on my own, while reading Karl Barth’s The Epistle to the Romans.
Finishing the Study of Matthew with BSF
Yes, I am committing to reading the Bible in a year:)
Michelle, Houston – I am doing Priscilla Shirer’s Gideon with a group of ladies from church. My small group has about 15 ladies, but I believe we have 5 or 6 groups total doing it. So far it is amazing!
Dallas, TX.
On my own, I’m currently doing Beth’s study on Daniel and am LOVING it! I am also doing Beth’s Sacred Secrets with my women’s small group bible study. There are 8 of us in total, and we are all enjoying it! It has also been sparking great group discussions. π
Currently finishing up a small group study, “The Bait of Satan,” by John Bevere – a study on offense and forgiveness. Timely topic for me. Also just started a small group study by Andy Stanley – “Christian: It’s not what you think.” He is an EXCELLENT teacher (DVDs).
I’m not tackling reading the whole Bible this year – but I am tackling the New Testament.
One-year chronological Bible with Iva May’s accompanying blog posts and Whispers of Hope. Loving both so far!
Debbie in Portland,OR
I have been attending Bible Study Fellowship this year and we are studying Matthew. So so good.
Two dear friends and I are just starting Beth’s Daniel Study. We are in Michigan and we too had to cancel this week due to weather!
Andrea, Havelock,NC
1. The Power of a Praying Woman, the workbook, by Stormie Omartian with Brice’s Creek Bible Church. Attending, not leading.
2. Esther- It’s Tough Being a Woman, by Beth. Independent on this one.
3. I keep up with J. Vernon McGee’s Thru the Bible series. In Philippians now.
Knee deep into Bible Study Fellowship with the Level 2 children and we are studying Matthew this year. Also doing Made 2 Crave (Lysa Tuerkhurst) with one of my best girlfriends π
Sheila Johnson, Beckley, WV The ladies at Calloway Heights Baptist Church began Priscilla Shirer’s Jonah: A Life Interrupted on January 13. We have 21 ladies ranging from age 20 – upper 70’s. It is wonderful to be with a group of women who are in various stages in life. It has made a huge difference in my life to see Divine Intervention rather than life interruptions. We are hoping to begin the new study by Beth on Thessalonians in September.
Beth’s James, and yep, I am working on memorizing the book!
Sacred Secrets by Beth. I am leading a group of 20 women in this at our church. We watched Session 2 last night. Very powerful! Thank you, Beth, for sharing that most important weekend message in this study and journal!!
Also, bought and viewed on my own, the Simulcast “No Longer” from the Living Proof website this past weekend. Amazing GRACE! Thank you so much for making this available to those like me who missed the original simulcast!!
Hi Debbie–where is the simulcast “No Longer”? I’d love to do this.
Oh–is this the one from Charleston? I did it from my home last September I think–it was *awesome*! Loved Beth carrying and throwing around her “old man” giant doll. π
Fort Worth, TX
At Christ Chapel on Thursday mornings and evenings, hundreds of women gather for “Sing to the Lord, a Study of Selected Psalms.” There’s an hour presentation as a large group and about 30 minutes of small groups. Everyone is welcome! The women’s leadership at this church is such a blessing.
I facilitate a group of ladies in my Albuquerque, NM home called the “ABQ Siestas.” We are in the middle of Beth Moore’s “A Woman’s Heart” and are being blessed each week from this study!
Donna, Athens, Georgia.
Doing Beth’s David study with Women’s Bible Cafe online.
Hey Siestas! Sandy Bowers, Bryan, Ohio. Currently in the middle of Proverbs31 Online Bible Study, Made to Crave by Lysa Terkeurst. I am going solo….but not really, as there are 43,000+ doing this study alongside me! My goal is to make healthier choices when it comes to what I put in my body….and to make healthier choices when it comes to Social Media. Craving God instead of things that are not so good for me! It is a great study y’all!
At my home church (Hunters Glen Baptist) in Plano, Texas, I’m participating in “To Live Is Christ.” As commenter Lisa mentions above, our Bible study also is a lovely mixture of ages and life seasons. My pastor is preaching on Acts this spring, so our women’s minister selected this study to take us even deeper in the theme. At home, I am also committed to (and enjoying) following the ESV Study Bible’s Bible reading plan.
Currently in a winter study at a local church with some friends. We are loving the Daniel study! This study group is a highlight to the long and cold Ohio winters (I am an AL/GA girl- transplanted). The fact that they tend to choose Beth Moore studies is a double bonus for me!
I have committed to reading the Bible in this year again and hopefully, with more success following a reading guide.
Hi there, my good friend Annie and my beloved sister, Nilda, and I are now in Beth’s new Tuesday night Bible study, “Breath of God in Us” in H-town. We had a great first lesson and I loved Melissa’s supplement that followed. I am excited and ready for a Holy Ghost power party!
We are also in our 5th lesson in James: Mercy Triumphs, but we will finish that one in March. Wow, the James study has been amazing as well. This is my fifth study with Beth in my sixth year as a believer and I am so truly excited.
With much love and adoration for Him and His truly!
Mary Appleton WI Leading Living Beyond Yourself by Beth Moore when we can between polar vortexs!
I am hosting a home Bible Study using Beth’s
Whispers of Hope. IT IS WONDERFUL SO FAR! We meet every other week, there are only 3-5 of us, but we love getting together and we love to fellowship.
I am a stay-at-home mom and needed some encouragement. I couldn’t find the “right fit” Bible study to attend in my area, so I started one of my own! This is our third study we’ve done and although we haven’t grown much, it has been such an encouragement to this mommy to have other ladies, who are in the same walk of life, to be able to talk to. Thanks to Beth for helping guide us this semester!
Lisa, Garland, TX. I am a Group Leader in BSF (Bible Study Fellowship) in McKinney,TX and we are more than half way through Matthew this year.
I read through the Bible every other year,( opposite of the SSMT year). This time I am using the You Version app and doing the ESV Study Bible plan. I really need this accountability in my life and it will remind me if I would get behind!
I usually lead a small group in the summer and love seeing all the great study ideas everyone is posting.
Prayers for Beth and all those who are working so hard to put studies together for all of us who are blessed to study them!
A Reader’s Guide to the Bible: A Chronological Reading Plan by George Guthrie. We used the the Chronological Life Application Study Bible. A group of us from Oakpointe Church in Novi met for a whole year and plowed through the entire Bible. It was great. The commentary/notes are at the bottom of each page. Everyone agreed that the chronology definitely put a different spin on reading the whole Bible.
I’m in a group of ladies at church that just started the study Hebrews by N.T. Wright.
We are in Albuquerque, New Mexico and will be doing Esther!!! Group starts next week on wed. nights. Excited to do this study.
I am currently finishing up Sacred Secrets then I plan on starting Held:Learning to Live in God’s Grip by Lee Peoples. It’s a study for parents of special needs kids and I’m hoping to lead it next year at our church.
Believing God is my current study, and it has blessed me. I often repeat the 5 statements of faith to keep me thinking correctly throughout the day. With anticipation, I began reading through the Bible this year on my own with a tablet and pencil, writing down things that “jump out” at me and recording questions that come to my mind during and after reading. I want to be honest with God about my questions, not hiding from Him ( or myself) any lack of understanding. So often this practice has increased the level my purpose for seriously reading His Word and digging deeper to understand.
