Happy Tuesday, Sweet Things! Something really fun is up today and I didn’t want you to miss it. Travis’s new CD is officially out and, let me tell you, it is my favorite of all his music YET. And, I guess you know, I’ve loved all of them. The mix of music on this thing is so incredible. They’re the kinds of songs you get in your head and you can’t quit singing (and you’re glad you can’t as opposed to those times when you can’t quit singing something stupid). If you participated in the simulcast last Saturday, you heard some of it. I’m trying to resist overusing the word “anointed” but you just see if you don’t sense the Holy Spirit all over it. To commemorate the release of “When the Stars Burn Down,” we’re going to do a random drawing and give away 15 copies. Here’s how you participate in the drawing:

You Changed My Name!
I went alone to the Simulcast on Saturday at Westney Heights Baptist in Ajax, Ontario and, as always, LOVED IT – as in “I love you” it. Afterwards, I did two things. I updated my funeral file folder to include the song “In Christ Alone…” Travis and the Lord take my breath away with that one!! Then first thing Monday morning I sent an email to 35++ of my closest friends to rub in the incredible day I spent with Beth and the Lord. I had invited each of them. My gain, their sad loss. Our site handed out your CD Devotions from the Beth Moore Library in our loot bags and, even though I have done 5 of the 7 it has still brought me to tears as I drive – twice!
I love you, Beth.

Travis Cottrell, Jesus Saves LIVE- love the whole CD, but its Victory in Jesus that gets me heart a pumping and the tears to fall and my voice to sing.
I was at the simulcast this weekend in Lubbock. What an amazing time in the word. I took a friend who had read your books but had never seen you teach. She was blown away. Thanks so much for being so willing to teach us, you do it so well. Travis sang my very favorite song at the simulcast “In the first light”. I am excited to get his new cd. He has an amazing voice, very annointed. One of the comments my friend made about this weekend was that the worship was so awesome, think I will get one of these cd’s for her as well. I love hearing Travis at live events and simulcasts but I will be truthful in saying I have not heard much (or any) of his recorded material. This would be a great first!
I already ordered my copy in June at the LPL in Lincoln so I am anxious for my copy to come. I have too many favorite songs to mention – ‘Your Word is Life”, “We Will Dance”, “Alive Forever”, “Do It Lord’, “In the Sanctuary”….. One of the things I appreciate so much about Travis and his beautiful wife, Angela, is that when they update an old hymn, like “Just as I Am”, they maintain the integrity and beauty of the old hymn while enhancing it with a new bridge. Mary Decker- I first heard Travis in July at the Charlotte LPL, and again on Saturday at the simulcast. I don’t know the name of the song but I LOVE the one that says The Word of God has spoken, we have been delivered!
Yayy!! Although I am embarassed to say I do not own any of Travis’ prior cd’s, I was blessed to hear his beautiful, ANOINTED voice at a LPM event last year and have been anxiously awaiting this release for months now!
He sang a song with the line “hail, hail Lion of Judah” …and that was joyfully stuck in my head forever. He also sang “In Christ Alone” which is just AMAZING. I think the whole house was jumping at the end of that one! Praise Jesus! I have it playing on youtube as I type! Goosebumps. Literally. Tears. LOVE this song.

I was at the simulcast Saturday. I have also been to two events this year where Travis sung a couple songs from the cd. I have been waiting since Deeper Still for the cd to come out.
My favorite Travis song will always be In Christ Alone but Jesus saves is a very close second.
I participated in the Simulcast Saturday and it was AWESOME! Love, love, love Travis’s music. I especially loved his version of Victory in Jesus.
There are definitely too many favorites of Travis’ music to count! But the one that really makes me reflect on my life and how I want this life to be is his rendition of In Christ Alone with The Solid Rock from his Alive Forever CD.
