James Calling: For Just A Little While!

Greeting From Beth, October 11,2010 from LPV on Vimeo.

My Dearly Loved Siestas, please watch the video greeting when you get a chance so that I can fill you in on what to expect for the next 2 months. This written post does not take the place of the video so please be sure to watch it. This is only to reiterate what I shared with you in the video about what to expect on here while I’m away. You will still find…

*Siesta Scholarship Giveaway Tickets to events that fall within this time period.

*Living Proof Live Recaps of the events that fall within this time period. (And, yes, I will read the comments to those events just like I normally would. I will just discipline myself not to write back.)

*A possible entry here or there on special occasions or when I’m bursting to tell you something that won’t really translate into the James study.

*”Talk To Me Tuesdays” – Every Tuesday I’ll put up a post where you do all the talking. (It will begin next week.) Tell me in a concise paragraph how you are, or what God is doing, or something funny that’s happened, or what you’re learning. Although I will hold myself back from responding to them, I will be anxiously and joyfully reading as many of them as possible. In this way, I get to continue to be inspired by your journeys with God and, when I’m tempted to respond, will, instead, put that energy into writing the Bible study. This format will also help you stay in touch with one another and allow you to directly respond to each other.

We will be very busy in 2011 here in Siestaville with the return of the Siesta Scripture Memory Team! I better take this chance NOW!

I could almost cry telling you how much you mean to me and how I will miss you. STAY IN THE WORD! Pray for your Siesta Mama. And I will pray for you. We’ll all be back together before you know it.

I love you. Really.

PS. Because Twitter doesn’t really consume creative energy (grin), I will probably try to keep up with that unless it gets distracting. So far it hasn’t been. It’s fun but I don’t have the attachment to it that I have here. If you want to join us there, it’s (this is so embarrassing) @bethmooreLPM. I feel like an idiot.

Mama Beth, that is just awesome. I so look forward to the James study and know good things are going to come from this break. I have needed to take breaks from my personal blog in order to better focus my energies in time spent with Jesus during difficult times, so I totally get it. Be blessed in this break!! I’m doing Living Beyond Yourself right now, and really enjoying the meat of that homework. You’ve got me deep in the Word!

    Blessings and love to ya,
    Sasha

You will be missed! And I couldn’t be more encouraged than to know that you are following the leading of the Spirit. It’s a wonderful model for us to follow. As women we often try to “do it all”. And, may I also say that I’m SO excited to be able to enjoy the fruits of your labor. My three daughters and I have learned so much from you as you teach us about our precious Jesus. May God bless you and Melissa as you redirect your energies. Your loved ones out here will be praying for you.

    Lindsee says:

Sweet Beth! Know that as you take this time away for eight weeks, I am committing to pray for you and Melissa every day for eight weeks as you pour yourself out on this study. As someone who’s going to reap the fruit of this study come January, how could I not lift y’all up. You are a blessing! Press on!

  4. 254

    Siesta Mama,
God bless you as you walk in obedience! You ALL are in my prayers. I hope you know how much you are loved back <3 ๐Ÿ™‚

Personally for me, James cannot get here soon enough. He’s already been screaming “Let your yes be yes and your no be no” all around me lately. So, do what you have to do to get it done ’cause I need it!! I’ll be right here when you can get back and am anxiously anticipating the study whenever it goes to print.

I will miss you in the coming weeks, but am so excited about James, I am willing to give you space for the next eight weeks. On a girl note, you look so very pretty in the video clip. Great hair, but more importantly, you appear rested. Hope this is true and that the Holy Spirit is very efficient with the time you are setting aside to write these next several weeks. May God bless your efforts for His Kingdom!

    Lisa Palmer says:

Dearest Beth, how precious your love of Jesus is to me. Understanding that even as Jesus taught His disciples He stepped aside for quiet time and even more important, He set the disciples on their own paths for a short time, allowing them to grow even more in their personal dedication to the Word of God. May we take this time to not only pray for you, Melissa, and all those working on this study, but to also spend time on our own in the Word. Allowing God to speak to us directly as we await your return.

    Blessings to you, sweet Beth,

    Lisa

    Lord God,

Cause Melissa and Beth to not be overwhelmed by the mountain of this writing project. Such a powerful little book.

Instead, cause them both to see the little paths on the mountain that lead to the top.

Give them wisdom beyond their own understanding.

Your grace is sufficient, May Your strength be made perfect in our weakness.

    Miss Beth –

This is why we all love you so dearly. Thank you for taking the time to make the video and share your plans with us.

I get so much out of your Bible studies and it is because you pour your very self out into them so we can see the love of Christ through you so clearly. Thank you for all you do for women everywhere.

Looking forward to studying James in the future. Praying for you in Iowa.

    Hi Beth & Melissa,

Not to worry you know Siestaville will not be short on words to keep rockin’ the blog. If those of us Houston Siestas stood strong, if sad, the day to told us your Sunday Study at church had to conclude a few years back, we can certainly push through two months knowing you and Melissa are doing Gods work to increase our knowledge and enlightenment to His Word in the study of James. I can’t wait for the study. What is so cool is that it will be like going back to childhood and awaiting Christmas Day. Anticipation of something so grand is a gift in and of itself. Keeps me smilin’ and prayn’, “Thank you God for the blessing of the work you are doing through Living Proof Ministreies!!!!!”

    You go girls!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Much love and many blessings. :o)

    Beth & Melissa,

I love you two dearly and look forward to what the Lord will do with this next study.
I am blessed by this community and even if I can’t post as much as I would like to, I always look at the blog and subscribe to the feed for updates in Siestaville. I pray that He fills you with His wonder and continues to delight you with His revelation as He speaks through you to us. May He bless the work of your hands and mind and continue to dazzle you with His Amazing Love.

Would you pray for my family we lost our precious dog Milo this past Saturday and our home is in mourning. That little “blind” dog took a piece of our hearts. We were glad to give it because he gave us so much.

    Until HE shouts,

But I am definitely praying for you as you write and continue to keep in step with the Spirit as well! ๐Ÿ™‚

I just got back from Bible Study this morning. We are doing Breaking Free.

I am feeling very humbled and so thankful for everything for this time of healing and freedom in my life which started after reading So Long Insecurity this summer. Thank you so much.

I really want to talk to you and give you a hug but since I can’t, a comment on the blog was the next best thing. ๐Ÿ™‚

You told a story once (I can’t remember if it was the simulcast–I think it was), that you told Amanda there were times you were teaching her to be a momma, but this time you were teaching her to be a grandma as you went to fix Jackson a pb&j. Thanks for teaching us how to be godly wives, moms, and women by your example and that sometimes we have to lay down something we enjoy for a time to do what we need to do.

    Siesta Mama,

You will be so missed, but I understand completely. I will look forward to “Talk to Me Tuesdays.” God’s G.A.L.S. (God’s Amazing Love Shared) is getting ready to start Daniel this week. My co-leader, Sue, starts the Wednesday group tomorrow and my Saturday group starts on Saturday, bright and early at 8:30. We have 83 wonderful women joining us this year. I still need a couple of small group leaders. Please, Jesus, lead the right ladies to me!

It’s hard to do my job this week when all I want to do is get ready for the study. I am doing one or two things each day to prepare.

Bless you Siesta Mama, Melissa & Amanda and all my wonderful sisters in Christ Jesus,

So inspired by your act of obedience. I will miss you but know that God will bless you and your work for doing things His way. I will pray for you and Melissa as you write. One wise Bible teacher once said “You cannot do everything to the glory of God”. In this life we do have to choose the greater things, even if we have to give up some of our favorite things. (Yes the wise Bible teacher was you!) Practice what you preach, that is why we love you so much.

๐Ÿ™‚ We will miss you but totally understand. I thank God for the Bible studies you have done and that you continue to do them. Honestly, no other Bible studies–and I’ve done several (usually while waiting for another one of yours to become available)–gets me into the Word so that my heart is touched and my spirit is fanned into flame. Be focused! Be blessed! Because it will come back and bless us!!!! ๐Ÿ™‚
