James Calling: For Just A Little While!

Greeting From Beth, October 11,2010 from LPV on Vimeo.

My Dearly Loved Siestas, please watch the video greeting when you get a chance so that I can fill you in on what to expect for the next 2 months. This written post does not take the place of the video so please be sure to watch it. This is only to reiterate what I shared with you in the video about what to expect on here while I’m away. You will still find…

*Siesta Scholarship Giveaway Tickets to events that fall within this time period.

*Living Proof Live Recaps of the events that fall within this time period. (And, yes, I will read the comments to those events just like I normally would. I will just discipline myself not to write back.)

*A possible entry here or there on special occasions or when I’m bursting to tell you something that won’t really translate into the James study.

*”Talk To Me Tuesdays” – Every Tuesday I’ll put up a post where you do all the talking. (It will begin next week.) Tell me in a concise paragraph how you are, or what God is doing, or something funny that’s happened, or what you’re learning. Although I will hold myself back from responding to them, I will be anxiously and joyfully reading as many of them as possible. In this way, I get to continue to be inspired by your journeys with God and, when I’m tempted to respond, will, instead, put that energy into writing the Bible study. This format will also help you stay in touch with one another and allow you to directly respond to each other.

We will be very busy in 2011 here in Siestaville with the return of the Siesta Scripture Memory Team! I better take this chance NOW!

I could almost cry telling you how much you mean to me and how I will miss you. STAY IN THE WORD! Pray for your Siesta Mama. And I will pray for you. We’ll all be back together before you know it.

I love you. Really.

PS. Because Twitter doesn’t really consume creative energy (grin), I will probably try to keep up with that unless it gets distracting. So far it hasn’t been. It’s fun but I don’t have the attachment to it that I have here. If you want to join us there, it’s (this is so embarrassing) @bethmooreLPM. I feel like an idiot.

    Beth,

I want you to know that I am committed to praying for you over the next 8 weeks – that you feel His presence so strongly you can’t deny it’s Him – and that you are filled with creative thoughts and juices to pour into the James study. I’ll also pray that you enjoy good health during this time of writing, that you have fun with it, that you feel peace, and that you feel blessed during these next two months! I mean it girl! I’m praying.

I’m thankful for you and LPM. I love the blog. I’m excited about the James study. And like I said…I’m prayin’!

I know it will all be blessed and I can’t wait for the timely WORD the Lord has for me.

Beth, Thank you for sharing your heart. It encouraged me to see your humanity. ๐Ÿ™‚ A little over a year ago, I felt God was leading me to begin a web ministry to encourage young moms. Just recently, I felt he asked me to take an indefinite break to spend more time listening than talking. It has been good for me – and very hard at the same time. I’m praying for some Spokane tickets. It would be like one of those special gifts from Jesus. Blessings!

I am so excited about the scripture memory work to begin again in January. I have really missed the special accountabilty that experience offered. God worked so much in my life during that time. He is working now, but I have to tell you it is a new level of intensity and intimacy with my Lord and Savior.

God Bless all you wonderful Moore women
    Much love sent you way

Ms. Beth- I look forward to the James study and know God’s going to do great and powerful things through you. (He always does.) Thank you for your obedience to His call on your life. It takes such courage and sacrifice but I love you so much for it. The Lord has taught me many things through your mouth and He is so faithful. We’ll miss you for a while but I’m looking forward to memorizing some Scripture in January! That is one thing I’ve never been able to do well but I’m yearning for a supportive group. Maybe I’ll have more success that way. ๐Ÿ™‚

    MMMom says:

I was so glad to see the post today. I was beginning to get worried about you and the girls since we haven’t had a post in awhile. I am very excited you are writing a new study. God has so annoited you with the ability to be relatable to women. He speaks to me through you in a way that I “get it”. Hearing you read the word aloud is such a blessing to me. I absolutely love it. You make it real and relevant, just as if God was speaking to me right now. Thank you for your faithfulness.

I am on week 5 of Here and Now, There and Then. My understanding of the book of Revelation is really starting to come together. Some parts are scary, but drawing the throne room and envisioning God breathing in my prayers like incense means everything to me. He loves me! Hallelujah! I’m so excited to get to share the next few weeks with you on Tuesdays!

May God pour immeasurable blessings upon you and Melissa as you write the study. See you in December!

    Kelly Powell says:

    Beth,
I have never commented before on the blog, but read every post and almost every comment. I learn so much from you and the women who respond. I have read some things on here that the Lord used to show me things that I will NEVER forget.
I wanted to respond today to tell you that I WILL be praying for you and Melissa as you seek the Lord as you write, and Amanda as you serve Him in your home.
I love ya’ll and more than that, I love our God who made a way for me to even know ya’ll. I often think what it would be like to live years ago when there was no technology. When women knew what the Lord was doing in the lives of those who were in maybe their Sunday School class, but never women all over the country- and other parts of the world.
I’m so thankful for this blessing!

We will be here when you get back.

    Amanda says:

Beth- I will be praying for you as you take this time to allow the Spirit to pour through you and you begin to pen out the things God has taught you through the book and life of James. It is one of my all time favorite books of the Bible and I am so excited to study it with you!! ๐Ÿ™‚ Love to you as you continue on in this journey. Looking forward to heairng from you periodically – and anticipating December when we get to have you back, and January when we will hide God’s precious word in our hearts togehter! This will be a fast of a sort for me as well. Thanks for all you do. I love checking this blog and will pray for you and Melissa to have the singleness of mind it takes to complete yet another Bible Study. Dearest Beth,

I can only just imagine how much work goes into one of your studies!! I am so excited that you are working on James and can’t wait for it to be available to us. I am doing my first Precept study, and on the book of Revelation!!! It’s amazing, I haven’t studied this intently in the word for a while, so it’s been so good for me. I will be praying for you and Melissa as you work and give yourselves to the writing of the study. Love you gals, Brenda

So good to see your smiling face and hear from you this evening, Beth. My bible study group is doing your Daniel study right now. Just got home from the group of wonderful, loving women. We are such a close little group. You brought us together, in study, some time ago. I wish you joy and love in your work on the James study. Looking forward to hear from you or listen to you each day as I listen to your Wednesday’s with Beth or another study. I am presently listening to Breaking Free on CD. I have actually completed listening to it, but often go back and listen each morning as I get ready for work. Such a good way to start each day and I have gained so much from Breaking Free!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!! With love, your sister in Christ, Charla

I just finished watching the rest of the video and I have to tell you that my heart is so tender toward you all I could just bawl. Your concern for us is so sweet and precious to me that I have a lump in my throat.

Thank you for your kind words and thoughtfulness. I will be praying Jesus pours out His Spirit on you three in great abundance. May it be like splashing around in a fountain of joy.

    In Christ,

    Anna

Then it just hit me that it really is only 2 months until the first of the year. Makes it sound like eternity for you to be ‘gone’!

    Precious Beth,
What a blessing to hear your sweet voice! The last time was in the living room with all of us gathered together during the Ruth summer bible study, drinking some coffee and filled up in His word. What an encouragement you are to all of us! Now we will encourage you Beth, to do as God directs and write the most incredible study yet! We pray the anointing of the Holy Spirit over you tonight and the journey you are about to take with your sweet daughter. You are so loved. We set you free to “do this thing!!”

    Kate says:

    Beth,

I am so blessed by you and so encouraged that you care enough about your ministry to us that you know when you have to pull back from some areas to be able to dig in and focus on others. Thank for you taking time to explain it! Know that I will be praying for you over the next eight weeks and for Melissa and your families as you wade in deep into the life and book of James. James is one of my favorite books, and I cannot even tell you how excited I am going to be to get to dig into those Scriptures with you when the new Bible study is available.

“For this reason I too, having heard of the faith in the Lord Jesus which exists among you and your love for all the saints, do not cease giving thanks for you, while making mention of you in my prayers; that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him.” Ephesians 1:15-17

    God bless you,
    Kate
