Update: The comments are now closed! I’ll see you tomorrow morning as we reveal our TEN winners. Have a great day, ladies!
Siestas!
Happy middle-of-the-week to each of you!
It is a beautiful day here in Houston! It’s almost perfect spring weather, which is a compete treat especially compared to the weather we’ve endured recently. It’s either been really hot and humid (shocker!), or really nasty thunderstorms. In fact, yesterday was 100% chance of rain all day and it did just that. The best part about the rainy days at LPM are our shoes; three of us chose to trade in our typical work shoes for rain boots yesterday and it was a cute sight, if I do say so myself. We were giddy. Y’all, it really is the small things. I hope wherever you are, despite your weather or circumstances, you’re able to find delight in something as small as rain boots, silly or small as they may seem.
Anyway, can you believe it’s already been a week since our last giveaway? All of the sudden I realized today was the day to reveal our next fun giveaway so my fingers went to typing. It snuck up on me!
Do y’all remember (and I bet you do because it happened to be a pretty popular post and you also happen to have a sharp memory), when our Siesta Mama asked you to share with each other something really random that you love? That particular day she was gushing over her Bible atlas and felt the urgent need to share with you the joy it brings her. I distinctly remember her telling me she was posting a fun, random blog that day so that I could be watching for comments, and watch for comments I did! Y’all didn’t just come through; y’all went above and beyond with over one thousand comments or something fun like that. We were really tickled! Needless to say, people are passionate about things they love.
To refresh your memory, here is a picture of the Bible atlas.
To make a really long story short (I know, I love words), B&H Publishing Group was really generous and sent us ten Holman Bible Atlases to give away on our blog, just like the one she gushed over! Y’all, how kind was that? So, today not just one, but ten of you will be receiving this amazing Bible atlas.
This is the box of atlases sitting in my office.
For a chance to win here is what you need to do:
1) Make sure your comment has your first and last name.
2) Please comment only one time to give everyone a fair chance.
3) For fun, and you don’t have to do this to win, but it would be really fun to hear, if you could give away one book to anybody, what would it be?
4) Lastly, your comment on this post automatically enters you into this contest. So if you are not interested in winning a Bible atlas, please hold your comments until after the winner is selected. This will help us as we randomly select our winners. Thank you so much!
That’s all ladies! We’ll keep comments open for 24 hours and close the giveaway at 4:00 EST Thursday afternoon.
Also, like I’ve stated before, Australia is 16 hours ahead of Houston time, so when Beth and Amanda wake up it’ll be time to start the second conference. I know for a fact Beth and the team would covet each of your prayers as they labor with joy to teach God’s Word and share His gospel with this next group of ladies. If you’ve been following them on twitter, it’s been obvious that God has blessed their time there. In fact, I saw that they got to feed kangaroos. How fun is that? I’m with you, though, I can’t wait to hear and read all about it upon their return. Let’s pray they end strong in Jesus name!
Alright, ladies, time to hear from you! Be sure to check back Friday morning as I reveal our winners!
Have a wonderful Wednesday!
I dont think I could choose just one!
Lyndsey Eshelman
A Bible atlas would be so much fun! I teach Sunday School to various aged kids and visuals are just very helpful to have, but hard to find. One book to give away would be hard to choose, I love so many.
I would give away Yada Yada Prayer Group by Neta Jackson.
Wow! A bible atlas would be so cool. In 2009, my dear Wilma, who died that year at age 90, gave me a copy of “Jesus Calling” the devotional by Sara Young. And that year I shared numerous copies of that devotional with family and friends as I was so awed how my relationship with Jesus was deepening each day. The coolest part was that one family member did not much care for the devotional, but her caregiver, Aggie from Ghana sure did. When she was finished with her duties at night she gathered by cell phone with other woman from Ghana working as caregivers in the United States. Aggie would read “Jesus Calling” to the other woman each night. And each time I think of that I smile a big warm happy smile.
I would give away the Bible…the best “book” ever. Second would be my sister’s little book, “What My Golden Retriever Taught Me About God”! 🙂
I’d love to receive this Atlas! How fun!
And If I had to give away one book to someone else it would be The Mission of Motherhood by Sally Clarkson 🙂 I am in the diaper-changing, laundry-folding, dish-doing stage of life right now and it is a great reminder that I’m impacting little souls with these mundane tasks of making a home 🙂
Dianne Pacewicz
The Resolution for Women by Priscilla Shirer
I would give away the Bible, the greatest story ever told! I am a High School History teacher and would LOVE this atlas:)
The book I would give away would be a book on manners and I would give it to a little girl who’s family is a friend of ours.
Now, that was hilarious!!!
It would be hard to pick just one book there have been so many that the Lord has used to minister to me in various seasons of my life…. some of my favorites are Ministry of Motherhood by Sally Clarkson, Breaking Free by Beth, Fresh Wind Fresh Fire by Jim Cymbala, So Long Insecurity by Beth, Crazy Love by Francis Chan…. I could go on forever!!! So it would depend on where the person was as to what book I would hand them. 🙂
Oh! This looks so fun!
As weird as it sounds, I would give everyone “Sacred Marriage” by Gary Thomas. Even though it’s about marriage, I think many of us would have done well to know before hand that when we are unhappy in our marriage or with our Life partner, God has so much more going on than what we feel. And it’s worthy keeping our promise, our vow, to see His work complete. 🙂
Love to you, Lindsee!!
rachel
I love to give away the book God’s Promises For Your Every Need, someone gave me a copy when I was going through a very difficult time years ago, and I loved the way this book is divided up into sections that make it easy to find verses when you are worrying, struggling, afraid, when you need courage, patience, and so on. I buy these in bulk when they are on sale and give them away.
Kathy Cheek
If I could give away one of the books it would be to Ms. Linda Goodman. She teaches our weekly bible study in her home.
I would give away one good study bible to a new believer.
One book I would love to give away is “Things Pondered” a collection of poetry and Vignettes by Beth Moore. I love the book and it is a real treasure.
In fact, our ladies brunch is coming up and I would love to give this book as a gift giveaway, so it can be a blessing to someone else.
God bless you. Will be praying for all of you. in Christ …love you all
Jesus Calling devotional
Kim Maxwell
Give Me 40 Days for Healing by Freeda Bowers : this book has taught and encouraged me so much in my own journey toward physical (and emotional) wholeness in Christ.
Hannah Simon
Oh my goodness. So many books!!! Right now I happen to be in the last few chapters of Believing God, the book version of the first Bible study I ever completed and the reason I am now a Bible student in college. Ya’ll, it did it for me. I just never got over it. I am loving the book version and have already promised to loan it out to about thirty people…grin.
I would give away the book Streams in the Desert, its my favorite devotional.
Kim Potter
I would give away “Calm My Anxious Heart” by Linda Dillow.
Thank you!
Wild goose chase by Mark Batterson
Lisa Younce
I would give the devotional Jesus Calling by Sarah Young ! It touches me every day!
Thanks for the fun post !
It’s hard to pick just one! 🙂 Other than the Bible, I would give away Captivating by Staci Eldredge. It’s a powerful read that really ministered to me on how God views His daughters.
lol! I put the same thing! I have given away quite a few copies of that already:)
I would give away The Acrobat & The Angel.
Blessings to your ministry!
Lora
I am giving new age appropriates bibles to my Grandchildren and a big print to my husband.
I would and have given copies of”His Needs, Her Needs, How to affairproof your Marriage.
to friends that I have counceled.
Heaven is for Real by Todd Burpo is a precious glimpse of what Heaven may just be like through the eyes of a 4 yr old.
Stephanie Lloyd
If I could give away any book, it would be “One Thousand Gifts” by Ann Voskamp. FABULOUS!!!
Second (next to the Bible) would be “My Utmost for His Highest”.
I love cards. I love to give cards of all kinds to people and I love getting cards. With computers, cell phones, and technology, cards are becoming rare treasures. I even keep cards that I have received to read when I need some encouragement or just plain can’t remember certain events.
In today’s fast paced world that we live in, to receive a card means that person took the time to think about getting a card, choosing the right card, writing a personal note, and actually mailing it to you. My name is Caressa Hooper. If I could send any book to someone, it would be the Bible. The best book in the whole world!
Trying to pick just one book I’d be most likely to pass on is WAY to hard – it just depends on the person I have in mind to receive it! Cop-out, I know, but I just couldn’t make up my mind 😉
“Same Kind of Different as Me”….great book!!
Candace Hendrick
A book that has stuck in my heart is Compelled by Love by Heidi Baker. She is a missionary in Africa and the love of God is displayed through her true stories in a way I’ve never read about in any other book (besides the big B-I-B-L-E, of course). Love it!
Ooooo, that’s hard. Only one? Probably 1,000 Gifts by Ann Voskamp or A Hole in Our Gospel.
Deidre Lail
Carol Bruntlett
If I could just give away one book it would Be Beth Moore
Esther Bible study
Because when I did that bible study Esther and her courage and Mordecai I would encourage everyone to do that study (The Whole Megillah ) I love it when Ms. Beth said that.
There would be other books I would give away if I could mention one more it would be Mary Beth Chapman (Choosing to See) A Journey of Struggleand Hope
Thanks Carol Bruntlett
Bible….to someone searching for the heart of God.
I would give away (& actually have given) “My Hands Came Away Red” by Lisa McKay. Besides being authored by my good friend, it’s a intense book that transports the reader to the jungles of south Asia & has you asking the same questions of faith along with the young characters in the story.
Joy Goley
I’d have to say that one book I believe that would be great for everyone to read (I promise I’m not kissing-up!) is “Get Out of That Pit” by Beth Moore.
Ashley Erickson
Thanks so much for this opportunity!
I gave the devotional book Jesus Calling to several of my friends and family for Christmas.
I love to give away “I Will Carry You” by Angie Smith. Such a touching, faith filled story. It is a reminder of God’s constant love for us even when we face tragedy and heartbreak. Not to mention that Angie is a fabulous writer!
I love this book too! I have not gone through what she did, but her trust in our sovereign God has been so encouraging to me…and I agree, she is a fabulous writer!
Just one book to give away – that’s hard! Right now it would be Unbroken or One Million Arrows or Lit!
The Esther Study by you, Beth. It changed my life, at a moment in my life where I REALLY needed it.
Even if I don’t win – thank you for this great opportunity and thank you for Esther.
Joyce Harris
I loved “The Shack” and have given it as a gift several times, also “Dinner with a Stranger”.
Oh that looks fabulous! Yes please I would like to enter.
Michele Miner
I sure do love books, but what was on my heart was I would give away a Bible to someone who needs one. Then I realized I just did that last week, haha! She is already a Christian, but for my final answer I’d say I would love to give a Bible to a seeker who wants to know our Magnificent God.
‘Course, I’d love to give any book to anyone who wants to learn. I just might want it back afterwards 😉
Thanks Lindsee!
Kari Frost, The book I would give away is Ann Voskamp’s “1000 Gifts”. I love it and have already given many copies away!
This is a tough one! Lately I have really enjoyed The Scarlet Thread by Francine Rivers so I will pick that one.
Mariel Davenport
I would give away God’s Word…it’s the best read out there! 😉
Yours is my personal favorite! THANKS!!! And I agree 100%.
Feasts of the Lord by Rosenthall & Howard is an amazing book that teaches so much about our “Jewish roots” in Christ and how they relate to our Christianity today. (And any day I’d rather talk about those roots than the gray ones on my head!)
Hey Lindsee! This is so fun. I love me some give-aways! I’ve never had a Bible Atlas, although my pastor-husband has plenty. I don’t know that I’ve seen this one on his shelves. What book would I love to give away? That’s a toughy. Right now I have a friend who I think would love So Long Insecurity (if I can get up the nerve to pass it on to her.) TeeHee. Hugs and prayers headed your way and down under too!
I am so blessed to have found Living Proof Ministries. I have had the opportunity to do a couple of Beth Moore studies with a small group of ladies at my church and I have to say, they are LIFE CHANGING!!! I can’t say how many times I’ve said to myself in my studies that, as soon as I get a little extra money, I am definitely going to purchase myself a Bible Atlas.
If I had the opportunity to share one “book” with anyone I think I would have to share The Holy Bible. There are so many people out there that don’t know or understand how awesome our God is and how blessed we are to be given the opportunity to have awesome lives if we open our hearts to Him, let Him in, and accept Jesus Christ as our personal Savior. Hands down, the Bible would be my “book to share…”
The Bible would be my first but I also love,
Secure in the Everlasting Arms by Elisabeth Elliot.
If I could give away one book to someone it would be Harry Potter! love them.
The book I love giving away is a “Daily Light for Every Day” with Anne Graham Lotz – first published by Samuel Bagster (1794) – with morning and evening scripture reading. If I was giving a book away today, I would choose my current favourite: “One in a Million: Journey to your Promised Land” by Priscilla Shirer. My copy is highlighted… Don’t you love this?
“…He’s got more in store for you than you can ever imagine.
Be watching. Be waiting. Believe in between.” (pg. 120)

Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand
