Thank you, thank you! This is so fun, because I got an ipad for Christmas from my adorable hubby, but I have one question…..

What is a “PUSH” and why do I want it? You mentioned it in your video and the ipad gives me an option to choose it or not, but I’m not sure what it is or its advantage.

    Thank you!

I’m so happy about this, if I didn’t have a migraine, I would get up and do the dance of joy. πŸ™‚ I too have a Droid smartphone, but happy to have an iPod as well and was able to download the app on that. LOVING your team’s commitment to hiding His Word in our hearts. LOVING IT.

I am so excited to be apart of the Siestas Scripture Memory Team! I didn’t join this journey until the 3rd of January and have tried to search past blogs to see how to receive a spiral and have not been able to. Are they still available? How do I order one? Thank you so much for your inspiration and continued support. I have seen a difference in my life already during the last 2 weeks and I am looking forward to seeing God’s plan in my life during the rest of 2011. God Bless!

Love the new app! I took Sabrina’s suggestion and went back to number my scripture. Then, it struck me that if I put “address” first (I usually add it at the end) I can quiz myself by using the page where I open the notes. It only shows the address and the first couple of words. I know it’s a silly little thing, but sometimes I need all the help I can get! πŸ™‚

Thank you for loving us all so well. Such a fun community you’ve built here!

Hi Ladies I dont have an iphone or a droid but i thought of this same idea a couple of days after the 1st and all I did is put my scripture into the sticky note/notepad part of my phone and then I went one step further and have my boyfriend set the alarm to go off several times a day to give me extra unexpected times to say my verse.

Beth!!! I can’t tell you how much joy it brings me to see my siesta app it stands alone on its own page the first app on page 3! I have to tell you…inspired by your blog and SSM I have started a scripture memory team with the youth girls at church that I get to teach Wednesday nights! I also started them a blog where each week one girl is featured along with her scripture of choice and why she chose it! I’m a total copycat but they are loving it as much as I love being a part of yours!

    Thanks, Shaley

    Hi Beth,
Is it okay if I post my Jan 15 memory verse early? I will be off the internet for a few days while I travel to another city to get medical services…because we just lost our first baby right before the second trimester. Needless to say, my next memory verse is very meaningful to me.

    NLT James 1:2-4
Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. 3 For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. 4 So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.

Sandra, I am so sorry about your baby. Our first baby is with Jesus, too. I pray that you and your husband will feel enveloped by the loving arms of our heavenly Father, and that you will know His peace and comfort.

John 14:1-6 is the passage the Lord gave us immediately after He took our baby home to the place He had prepared for him. That assurance gave us much comfort in our grief.

      In Him,

      Lori

My thoughts and prayers are with you. We have been unsuccessful with two ivf attempts. We did not get as long a chance to love any of our babies, but I feel for you regardless. I love your verses and am thrilled that you chose to post them.
      Praying,
      Katalla

You could call me a siesta lurker as I’ve never posted before, but I’ve been reading the blog for a while. Anyway, is it too late to get a spiral? I’ve been memorizing Scripture to get me through migraine attacks for some time now, but I’d like to be more proactive about it. I already have my January 1 Scripture memorized (mostly). I’ll also be using the app on the iPhone and iPad.
P.S. My Jan 1 Scripture is “You are my hiding place; you protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance.” Psalm 32:7 NIV

I feel bad that they don’t have a “app for that” Hope they can join in the app fun too. Love you all too.

i loved this! thanks for sharing all the numbers, but i’m wondering if you’ve factored in the gals (and guys, i hope) who are along for the challenge but AREN’T using a spiral? count me and 2 friends in that group. might be fun to get a shout out next time we record our verses as to who ISN’T using a siesta spiral. just for the sake of proper records, you know. πŸ™‚

I just got my spiral in the mail today and it is more wonderful than I could imagine…I already wrote my verse in it and am still waiting on my next verse…God will supply it before tomorrow! I want you to know I just feel the Holy Spirit coming off that thing…like those little bound books have been anointed by God Himself! What a blessing!

But the best thing is I have actually memorized my first verse already! I am so beyond excited about that!!! I didn’t do so well memorizing my verses last time…but so far so good…Thank You Jesus!!!

    Cheryl says:

I have already downloaded it. I had looked for apps before this and wasn’t not happy with what I found, I was using the Notes app. But this is perfect. I always have my I phone with me. I have done all of your bible studies and have never been very successful at the memorization part. This will really help me. My daughter, daughter-in-love and son’s girlfriend are doing this with me. We all have a spiral. I am the Women’s Ministry Director at my church and have encourage all of our Women to do this as well. A lot of them have said they would. I am about to lead, the Revised Breaking Free at our church. It truly set me free many years ago when I took it. I am excited about so many women joining together to hide God’s Word in our hearts. We love you Beth and thank you, your daughters and all your staff for all that you do to encourage us. May God richly bless you in 2011.

The App looks fabulous! πŸ™‚ I may or may not have an i-something to use it mid-year.

    Rebecca says:

Hi there! I mentioned this the other day, but I thought it worthy to mention it again for those who may have missed it.

On every index card, the scripture goes on front; however, on the back, I am putting how God is using that verse in my life over the course of 2011. Then, not only do I have scripture that I have memorized and meditated on, but I also have a written testimony of how God has used those scriptures in my life.

Prayers and blessings as we continue the memorization journey,
    Rebecca

    So much fun!! Thank you!

  47. 247

And now I covet all you i-types your fancy app! πŸ™‚ Such a treat to get to see a ‘live’ Sabrina! I love having faces for the names floating around my brain. Trusting the Lord to give both me and Sabrina a scripture by tomorrow! Mine will have to be content with being written in an adorable Siesta spiral.

  48. 248

love, love, love it! Now I want a phone with apps!
You said something about a download before you spoke about the Siesta app. Is this just for our personal spirals?
Excited to do my second memory verse πŸ™‚

  49. 249

Yay for the App…I don’t have an Iphone or Ipad I do have an Ispiral that will be used. Have fun ladies!
Just wanted to add I ask my husband to join me in memorizing scripture so I bought him a guy looking spiral and he is going to memorize, get this, The Lords Prayer in Hebrew! Isn’t that just the coolest?

  50. 250

I think this is so cool and I don’t even have an i-phone or pad!!! Lovin those spirals though. My daughter likes to draw a little picture next to each verse…she says it also helps her remember. Whatever it takes…haha

Couldn’t agree more about a mind captivated on Scripture doesn’t have time to dwell on things it shouldn’t be. Amen to that!!

What a blessing to know about the 30 Siesta’s who are memorizing but unable to post all the time! I will keep them in my prayers!!

    Blessings all,
    michelle in VT
