A Little Surprise and A Lot of Love

Hey, Sweet Things! Today is my first official day back to work after the James taping and the first thing I did, after hugging coworkers, was sit down and tape a video greeting to you. It takes a day or two to get it on Vimeo but we’ll have it up here on the blog just as soon as we can. It’s, of course, mostly ridiculous except to us Siestas so rein in your expectations. It’s just me saying hey to you after being away for so long and thanking you for your prayers. But as God would have it, I have another reason to hop on here today. I’ve been waiting for it to come in so that I could tell you about it and we literally just opened the box. Here it is:

It’s the brand new (workbook) So Long Insecurity Group Experience! Look really closely now:

Exactly right here:

Lean on in!

One more time!

This one’s for you, Siestas. It hits the shelves this coming week. I love you so dearly. We’ll do a giveaway soon but I couldn’t wait till then to show it to you. I’m not meaning to make a bigger deal out of it than it is but, Girlfriend, it’s big to me. Your Mama.

I’m so excited to see the workbook and so touched at your sweet dedication! We love you too, Beth! I read SLI last fall and downloaded and watched the 2 videos. They are powerful stuff and I can’t wait to go through this workbook. I think I will do it with my 21 year old daughter this summer while she is home from college. Last summer we did Priscilla’s Discerning the Voice of God and it was excellent. I can’t wait to see what Lord will reveal to both of us through His word. Thank you Beth for listening to His call.

    Cara says:

That is just cool. That study with you and the fellow Siesta’s was such a blessing and even today is something I think of often. God is still working it out, but now I am so aware of my insecurties and that is good. When I find myself doing something I KNOW is purely out of those places, I will stop and make a new choice.

Although, I did something a couple weeks ago that I am still laughing about. I was going to see an old friend from highschool that I had not seen in 16 years. To say my insecurity issues were in overdrive would be a major understatement! So at MIDNIGHT I decided I couldn’t do anything about the weight I had gained but I could certainly do something about my roots. So, yes, at midnight I colored my hair. What in the world was I thinking LOL!!!!! I wasn’t.

Anyways, I love that you added a workbook and turned it into something small groups can do!

    Cara

I, for one, am VERY excited about this!!! This sounds like something I could really use to help boost my God-confidence! Yep! You read that right – I don’t want any “self”-confidence – I want all my confidence straight from my Father ๐Ÿ™‚

How sweet of you to dedicate it to the Siestas! I only became one this year (I didn’t know about it before) but I am actually memorizing scripture for the first time in my life and I am soooooo excited!

Thank you for being our “blog Mama” and for allowing Him to work through you. It is DEFINITELY appreciated and NOT taken for granted ๐Ÿ™‚

    doo-dah says:

Words cannot express how much this blogging community means to me!! I have been a faithful reader for several years but do not comment often. I am in a caregiver role for an extended family member with Altzheimer’s and as a result am not able to attend study groups at church or even come to LPL events at this time. It has been over a year since I have even been able to sleep in my own house and am not sure when things will change (my marriage is hanging in there by the grace of God and because of such an understanding but weary husband). Anyway, I just want to say that if it were not for this online community, and being able to do the video studies and workbooks while in this season, I would be completely isolated. Thank you so much Siesta Mama for being responsive to God’s call on your life!! I have read the SLI book and look forward to doing the workbook study as well. I love this online group and would appreciate your prayers.

Thank you God for this faithful daughter. Her willingness to give up ‘her’ life to care for someone who desperately needs help is a testimony to her love for You as well as her love for the one she cares for. What a blessing to be able to say that her husband is able to support her – and alter his life as well. Bless him Father for his understanding and willingness to accept this time in their married life.
Keep this siesta close enough to Your heart that she can hear it beating when she is frustrated or discouraged or lonely for what she’s given up.
We love You, Father. Bless you
      Amen.

I too am more of a “reader” to this blog than a “commenter” (is that a word?:))but when I read your post it just touched my heart. Hang in there in your caregiving-when all is said and done you will be glad. In the meantime, I will be praying.

Can we talk? (: My goodness, my husband and I have been in the ministry for 30 years! He finally got a cell phone a year and half ago and sent his first text a couple of weeks ago. I’ve just started texting in the last year. We don’t tweet, twitter or understand it. So…I say all that to say this. Although doing many of your studies through the years, I was not aware of this blog community or Siestaville. I “stumbled” on it in December and joined in with ya’ll in Scripture memory and therefore found your blog as well. I promise you have no idea what this community has done for me. I’ve been walking with the Lord many years and Praise God I’m always learning. Like, how really BIG the family of God is! Makes me look forward to Heaven and worshipping God with all of you. Please tell your daughters how much I’ve enjoyed their posts as well as yours. I have a soft spot for them having raised two girls myself. (can I say “Feathers From My Nest” is a personal favorite?) My girls have done your studies as well. Last December my oldest and I were at the Deeper Still Event. My youngest and I will be in Louisville in June. You all did such a great job communicating the importance of passing the torch to the next generations, all the while walking with them. My desire is to do the same with my girls so they will do it with their children, and so on…..
    Blessings to you and yours!

Ditto Mama. I love you in ways that don’t make sense too, except to praise the unity of God’s spirit within us! Glory, that He makes sense out of our mess, sits us on His knee and tells us how pretty we are to Him. Whew, what a Father! Beautiful is the Son!!

    Beloved Blog Mama Beth-

You are dearly loved and appreciated. Mere words can not express what my heart profoundly feels. Only the tears of JOY and LOVE which flow freely as we read your lovely tribute to Siestaville. In all the busyness of family, life & ministry that we are on your heart to dedicate SLI workbook to Siesta’s PRICELESS!!

I really loved when you tweeted that you can beat people with your purse who try to 2 use the word groupie with you. I know EXACTLY how you feel. It is difficult to explain to those outside Siestaville how you can love a group of women whom you have never met. I have stopped trying to explain it I simply cherish our blog community.

My cup overflows…To God Be The Glory~

Beth, Thank You…what an honor. Being an active member of this blog just since December, 2010 but have loved every minute of it. I have laughed, cried, grown spiritually, learned from others, prayed for others and been prayed for and even met some of my fellow siestas at Living Proof Live in Little Rock, AR in April….all through this community of believers called “Siestas”. I am beginning to understand how really “big” this thing is. I love you siestas, I need you siestas and I thank God for all of you, especially Mama Beth who has faithfully served God in many ways…even in a blog!

I am super excited to mention this study to my church. They gave group leaders your book during a prior bible study and I was super interested. My time is limited in reading but I really do hope that my church picks the So long insecurity study to do. Do you have videos to accompany it yet?

    Marcia says:

You definitely surprised me, but then the Lord has used you to surprise me many times in the last few years. God can use anything he chooses to speak to us and he has used many of the posts on this blog to encourage, to challenge, to teach, even to hold my hand during the last 2 years. I am going through a very painful transition and sometimes I have thought that you or Amanda or Melissa were in the room when the prayers were whispered – because of the posts.

Then there’s SLI – that book has been such a blessing to me. It gave me the courage to see relationships(with people) that were a source of security – how misplaced that was and how they were actually hurting me. I could go on and on – Thank you so much. The Lord has used you to bless me immensely.

Can’t wait to work through the work book! ๐Ÿ™‚

I just started with the Siestaville community this year with the scripture verse memory team. I am LOVING this. I have had a few verses memorized in the past but not had an accountability to make them stick. It is especially helpful for when my mind goes to negativity or my own mental gossip about someone. This is encouraging me in my walk with Him tremendously. I look forward to receiving these blog updates. Thank you, Beth, for the dedication to us and in your workbook. Thank you for sharing your wonderful gift of insightful teaching with us and the multitudes. Blessings to you!

I love you too Mama Beth in ways I don’t understand and how He has knitted our hearts together and I know it is all Jesus.
Thanks again for sharing with us cannot wait to get my hands on the workbook.

Can I just tell you about God’s perfect timing? After being taken to the wood shed over SLI, a year to the exact date God had me teaching from that exact portion of Ephesians 4. We had been moving through the entire book and on Sunday, April 24th, that’s where we were in the Scriptures. He is so good and has a wonderful sense of humor.

So looking forward to getting the workbook!

    Wendy O'Byrne says:

Beth, I have to tell you that “So Long Insecurity” has blessed me in ways that words cannot describe. The short and simple is that my marriage of 22 years was in very serious trouble and finally I had to remove myself from it. I was away for 16 days before we were able to decide to work on our relationship and do our best to save this marriage. I have been home now for eight days and we have made considerable progress. I want to thank you for the words in the book that helped me see that I must fight for my man if I love him. It was very difficult because my first marriage of 16 years ended in a divorce when my non-christian husband chose to leave the marriage and our three children to be with a much younger woman. I was so fearful of drawing a line. I am stronger in my faith now and married to a Christian man. God has blessed our ministry to others through our marriage, we are a good team. I hope you will please pray for us as we continue to work on our communication skills and I learn not to be a doormat! I will be purchasing this study workbook as soon as I finish my current Bible Study on Amos! I have been a Bible student under your guidance since you ministered at Southside Baptist Church in Crestview, Florida in 1997? and signed the book “Things Pondered” To Wendy – I am honored to share this journey with you. Keep seeking! Til He Shouts!
