A Little Surprise and A Lot of Love

Hey, Sweet Things! Today is my first official day back to work after the James taping and the first thing I did, after hugging coworkers, was sit down and tape a video greeting to you. It takes a day or two to get it on Vimeo but we’ll have it up here on the blog just as soon as we can. It’s, of course, mostly ridiculous except to us Siestas so rein in your expectations. It’s just me saying hey to you after being away for so long and thanking you for your prayers. But as God would have it, I have another reason to hop on here today. I’ve been waiting for it to come in so that I could tell you about it and we literally just opened the box. Here it is:

It’s the brand new (workbook) So Long Insecurity Group Experience! Look really closely now:

Exactly right here:

Lean on in!

One more time!

This one’s for you, Siestas. It hits the shelves this coming week. I love you so dearly. We’ll do a giveaway soon but I couldn’t wait till then to show it to you. I’m not meaning to make a bigger deal out of it than it is but, Girlfriend, it’s big to me. Your Mama.

I saw this workbook in my Lifeway catalog I got in the mail the other day. I was excited to see it in workbook form. I have not read the book yet, but for Mother’s Day our church gave us the little booklet, “The Promise of Security” and this has my name stamped all over it. Also let me say that I am currently doing Tammie Head’s new study, Duty or Delight and girlfriend, THIS REALLY HAS MY NAME STAMPED ALL OVER IT. I’m nothing short of amazed at what length God will go to, to help us get over ALL of our issues so we can truly rest and trust fully in Him. Amazing, simply amazing. Thank you Beth for all you do for us and tell Tammie I said thank you too!!!

This is my first post. I’ve only been following this blog a few months but I discovered Beth’s Bible studies last summer and they have completely changed my relationship with God. Beth, you are such an inspiration to me as a mentor. Thank you so much for your devotion to the Lord and to we fellow sojourners. Through you God has blessed me beyond words. May God continue to bless you and your ministry richly. I am coming to see you in Louisville in June and I can’t wait to hear you speak in person.

Oh, I’m so excited!!! Can’t wait to get it in my hands. Is there a video with it? As much as I absolutely love, love, love your (and others’) video-based studies, I almost hope this is workbook only (it’s not always easy for our neighborhood small group of ladies to find/borrow more recent studies from our respective churches.)

Either way though, I’ve loved the book and will now be looking forward to delving even deeper with the study. Thanks, Beth! Lots of Siesta love to you!

What a blessing the original book has been thus far to me and my Mom. We are reading it together and discussing it. I sent a copy of it to my sister in law a couple of weeks ago and she has said she would read it. With the death of my brother last year and her own aneurysm scare recently, she is more open to spiritual things. I pray that Jesus will show up in my sister in laws life and be who only He can be and do what only He can do for her. How I long to see her come to know the Lord as well as my niece and nephews. Looking forward to getting a copy of the workbook.

Oh mama Beth it is so good to see you here. YOu were certainly missed and prayed for all week. I think that is so sweet what you said about us siestas in the workbook. That just nearly made me cry. Try explaining that to second and third graders. I too was wondering if there will be a 4th summer bible study. Have a blessed day Mama Beth.

Thank you so much for your dedication to the call of God on your life. God’s word is alive and active and is the truth but you present it so that we can dig into it with you and learn those truths. I did my first study in 2007 right after my husband passed away from an eight year battle with cancer, and I now have about 9 under my belt and God’s truth in my heart. Could not have made it without Jesus. What a journey!! I am also hanging in on the scripture memory which is something I have never been able to do. Thank you Beth for your work. Love you as one of your Siestas!

Love you right back, Miss Beth! Thank you for this book and now the workbook. It helped me so much…to deal with things that I really didn’t realize were insecutities to me. It reinforced again to belive the Truth over the lies…2 Cor. 10:3-5.

Love it! After going through the book with you Siestas, a couple of friends and I chose to do the same thing together. It was a wonderful opportunity to just be real with each other – which for those who are insecure is a big step!

Go ahead and make a big deal of it Siesta Mama! If healing is brought to the lives of numerous women, it’s worth every bit of it!

Thank you for this Beth! I read So Long Insecurity last May when I was going through such a struggle with finding my security in Christ. Funny enough, right before I hopped on Siestaville today, I was thinking I would love to re-read it again this May…and perhaps now even do the workbook! You truly have encouraged us all to find our security in Christ and I pray that everyone who encounters So Long Insecurity (book & workbook) will discover freedom from insecurity! Bless you, sister!

Thank you, Beth for dedicating your book to us!
I don’t post very often but I have been following the blog for probably four years now! That’s unbelievable!
I have a prayer request. I would be forever grateful to whom ever would join me in prayer! My family is falling apart! My husband has had a private addiction since before we were married (married 16 years this passed February). There have been some indicators that I was too blind to see. But my eyes have been wide opened now and he isn’t willing to completely fight the addiction and overcome it with the help of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! For now he is willing to go to Christian counseling with me but I don’t know how compliant he will be with the counselor. I feel like if he is not willing to fight this completely until he is forever victorious in Christ I may not be able to stay with him. We have two boys. One is 6 and the other is 5 and I do not want this thing to be passed down ANOTHER generation! Thank you to anyone who will join me in prayer for this situation!
    In Christ’s love,
    Sacha

      Sacha,
I am adding your family to my prayer journal. I will pray specifically for God to do a mighty work in your husband so that he turns over complete control of His life to the Lord and submits to His authority. God is more powerful than Satan and I pray that He uses someone or something to reach into the most private places of your husband and through His Spirit give him the confidence that God can change his desires to match His and he can be victorious over his addiction and its hold on him. I also pray that He gives you comfort, strength, wisdom and guidance for you. God cares and He is with you during this trial.

Praying with you Sacha! Asking God to work in your husband’s heart and mind to heal and restore him with His truth and grace.

One resource that comes to mind is Andy Stanley’s message this week. It is aimed at single guys, but the concept applies to married men and all women too in our relationship to God. Any time we look to anything, even if it’s a good thing, more than God, we are saying that God is not good enough for us.

We need to recognize these lies associated with the idols/addictions and then decide to believe and proclaim the truth that 1. A Real God is the only thing good enough; 2. One God is the only one good enough; and 3. Our God – Jehovah, Yahweh, the God of the Bible is the only God good enough and able to satisfy our souls.

You can watch Andy’s message at: http://northpoint.org/messages/the-new-rules-for-love-sex-and-dating/part-2

I am literally tearing up! I had saved all your posts and had longed to lead some ladies through this so THANK YOU! This book was the most transforming book for me outside of the Father of Transforming Lives and HIS Word!!! I saw things from so many perspectives and had always believed even before I heard you say it that insecure people are indeed self focused (to say it in a nice way). I resemble that remark lol. Anyway, so many chalk up things to the insecurities of others and we do not realize that we are all in this together and each stone causes a ripple that reaches each and everyone one of us whether it is for building up or tearing down! So THANK YOU!
Sincerely – your Saginaw Siesta, an Abiding Branch
Rachele (Chel) Posey lol. (since you asked in the book how you describe yourself lol – this is one way)

Thank you, Mama Siesta! I’ve never been part of a book dedication before. You make me (and each of us, I’d venture) feel so special! Have fun with the grand release (I have NO doubt you will!) and with the many letters and comments you’ll receive down the line as people are ministered to through your writing.
