Itchy Feet: Tap Dancing Toward TACOMA!, Fresno, and Little Rock

Hey, Darling Things!

With great joy the Living Proof Live team and I hit the road again for our 2011 dates starting next weekend and we are revved up and ready to jump on anything with wings. Over the last eighteen months I’ve tried so hard to make some wise changes to my (almost literally) back-breaking schedule. One of the biggest alterations is that we decided not to launch the LPL travel schedule until the end of our Tuesday night series so that I wouldn’t be trying to juggle sixteen gillion things at once. It was a really great decision and I have never enjoyed my Tuesday night group more. They’ve gotten to be the chief focus at LPM for weeks and I will be so sad to see the series end. The only downside to the decision is that I have been off the road for longer than usual and away from my beloved praise team and LifeWay event team. We are all really good buddies so we are itching to be together again and do what God has called us to do. I got to have Travis and Angela and part of the team for a great Tuesday night here in Houston or I wouldn’t have made it but I haven’t laid eyes on the rest of group since the first week of December. I’ve missed them so much.

We are BESIDE OURSELVES to start our 2011 schedule in the Great Northwest. We will hit Tacoma next Friday, March 11th, as one very happy group of Jesus freaks. (My printed calendar actually said Seattle but God knew!) God began speaking to me just three days ago about the subject matter. In fact, I have a white envelope that I keep in my car console for blotting my lipstick (it wasn’t premeditated) and God started  pressing on my heart so strongly about that event that I pulled it out at the stop light and started jotting down themes right there between four shades of pink. Michelle saw it when she was helping me get all manner of stuff out of the car and made a funny face. I said kind of sheepishly, “Notes for Washington.” She grinned and said, “I get it, Ma’am.” I love it when God starts shedding light on the messages because that’s when I know for certain – for absolute certain – that He scheduled the event and it wasn’t we. Lord, have mercy. That’s our worst nightmare. Nothing like showing up and He doesn’t. That’s when you know you missed something.

So, Tacoma first.

Then we break April open with a trip to Fresno, California on the 1st and 2nd. We love us some California! We are looking forward to a whole lot of Jesus, some gorgeous weather, great worship, lots of Bible study (please, Lord), and at least two rounds (and probably two pounds) of In-N-Out Burger. Seattle-country makes me think coffee. California makes me think Animal Style Fries. I have some great friends coming to that one that I’ll get to see afterward. (I am no fun in advance. Too intense. You never have to worry whether or not we take our jobs seriously. There is considerable angst involved. But afterward, if we’ve had time to catch our breath and get something in our stomachs, we are free to laugh our heads off and rejoice in God’s grace.)

THEN, we head to Little Rock. Back home to Arkansas. Both of my sisters will be at this one. So will some of our childhood friends. More than anything, I want to meet Jesus there. Just where I first met Him many years ago. My heart is especially tender toward this one as those rolling hills draw my soul. I think about it almost every day.

So, it’s almost time to pull out the LPL suitcase again and I’m just weird enough to be glad. It’s been so good to have a nice long season at home and I will definitely do it again next year. But somewhere in the distance I hear a voice saying, “Please make sure that all carry-on items are stowed either in an overhead compartment or completely beneath the seat in front of you. If you are seated in an emergency exit row, please read the information on the passenger safety card which is located in the seat back pocket in front of you. If you do not meet the criteria for seating in this row, or if you do not wish to  assist in an emergency (you lame gnat), let a crew member know and we will be happy to re-seat you. Prior to departure from the gate all cell-phones must be turned off and stowed. Once again, we welcome you on board.”

Ah, yes. And that’s when I shoot out my last text to AJ and Lis and try to power down before I get in trouble.

I’m so hoping to see some of you Siestas in one of those three great cities. Anybody planning to head either direction? Even if these events are way off your radar,  I’d give just about anything if you’d take a moment and pray for our 2011 Living Proof Live events. It would make a world of difference. Oh, man, we so want to honor God and give Him great glory and spread the fame of Jesus Christ. We want to keep learning and keep growing and keep seeking and keep finding, alongside every woman He sends our way. We have nothing without Him. Not one thing. If we quench Him, we’re croutons. Please pray for our hearts to be pure and our egos to be small and for our God to be huge and make His praise glorious.

I love you guys.

Wish I lived in the northwest so I could catch one of your stops. We pray for God’s blessing on you and your ministry just about every Tuesday night at Bible study. We will be sure to do so this week as you have requested.

I must say, I love how you said that if we quench Him, we’re toast; not just toast, but tiny square pieces of toast [croutons]!! LOL

    Warm in Alaska says:

Oh boy. I don’t want to be a crouton! Beth, I know you hear this a kajillion times a day – so here’s a kajillion and one – I’m so thankful to God for sending you along in my generation. I know you work really hard to give every single bit of “thanks” from a siesta right back to Him – but this is a little sentence I’ve said to the Lord more times than I can count: “I am so thankful to be living my days on earth during the generation when Beth Moore brought the Word of the Lord forth.” (I know that sounds epic; but so be it).

I wish I could come to the Seattle one! I’m in Portland and I’m so glad you’re coming to the Northwest! Growing up in Texas and now living in Oregon I see the difference in the Christian culture – the Believers here don’t have all the wonderful resources they do in the South. Thank you for not forgetting the Northwest! 🙂

We are some busy, believing, real-life living, young mothers who are so looking forward to a weekend of body and soul refreshing God-time! It gets me so excited to hear you talk of His plans for the event. Makes next weekend feel so completely personal. I love that about Him.

Prayer for you and the team, Beth! May God rise up and place His eyes upon you as you tell others about Him. I pray that He is pleased with every word of worship and every sound of praise! May He cover each event and each person, and may you deliver every word He has with an exactness that reaches every heart prepared to hear it! May Christ alone be glorified, as only He is worthy.

We’ll continue to pray here at the Walker abode for everyone attending and all on the LPL team! So excited for all of you getting to go!

    WorthyofLove says:

    Dearest Beth,

I have been dying to tell you, and this post seemed like a good place to put it, that I met Jesus last weekend…really met Him. I’ve been a Christian for near thirty years. I never understood when you would talk about being “in love” with Jesus. It just didn’t make much sense to me. I attended our churches women’s retreat and He was there. One of the main verses was Psalm 45:11 “The King is enthralled with your beauty…” (my version) As you can imagine it was a hard one for most of us to swallow. Even now tears spring to my eyes when I think of the love I felt poured all over me. Not just any love, the love of Jesus…the one and only. I finally get it. He is the Lover of my soul like no other.

    Love,
    Michelle

      Redeemed says:

Aw, Michelle…that verse is the one that spoke His Love to me too. Those words mean the world to me (and I know what you mean about it being hard to swallow…too good to be true and yet it is!)

      Beth says:

Yes Michelle welcome!! The knowing is the best part. I am so glad you were able to share with Beth this wonderful moment His love poured down upon you and you knew it.

    Gene says:

Lord, prepare our hearts for what is ahead. Help us to become sharp listeners of Your voice…especially as women. Surround Beth and her team with angelic protection. Speak through Beth to the broken-hearted. Sing through Travis to those who have lost hope in this world. Bring healing in all areas. May all see that You are the only true God during these meetings. Bring women that are filled with Your presence. Women who come anxious and ready to minister to those around them. You are an amazing God!

Yeaaa- how exciting for all the blessed women who get to meet with Jesus in each of the cities! I will always be so blessed to think of my amazing trip to Tuscon AZ last March 2010; my wonderful husband saw I was bummed the Orange County, CA LPL was sold out, and he asked “don’t they have one in AZ?” (we live in Phoenix) – and it was that night… he said LET’S GO! So right in the middle of my accounting busy season we packed up the dog and drove to Tuscon! He and the dog spent time together while I was FILLED with the Spirit and it’s such a precious memory
Blessings to you all and the whole LPL team!!

Have a great time! I’m East Coast so I won’t be there, but I know God will shine on you guys as you gather in His name.

I must say this is one time that I can say I will miss living in Seattle–I would be there in a heartbeat! I remember the year you were at Overlake CC in Redmond, WA. Thank you and I will gladly prayer for this years events! I know God has big plans for each one who attends any or all of them.

Your ‘lame gnat’ will stay in my ‘Bethisms’ file for sure!! I already think of you when I see men in wheelchairs, yellow caution signs and various other fun trivia from your travels. I can still see you laying on the floor like you slipped and fell!! You have got to be the best traveler!!

Fly safe, enjoy your In n Out burgers and fries, coffee in Seattle (maybe you should try some dungeness crab!) and I’m sure Arkansas is full of great comfort food! Just soak up His love while sharing it with so many of our Siestas that will be there.

    Yanna says:

Beth, I missed Tuesday night’s lesson. Yet, I weep to think what God gave me instead. My 18 year old son has an 17 year old friend who went to be with our Lord Monday morning. So Tuesday and Wednesday were spent in Garrett’s honor. I want to sit before God and talk to Him and praise Him because during this season of my life I am in your study of David. I am able to share the friendship of Jonathan and David, the loss, the building of a heart like His through David’s life. I know you can only imagine the joy I felt in my soul to share what I have learned. The page of the homework I was on when I heard the news was “Room in the Palace” and then “Shunned Sympathy” was the service yesterday. What a gift God gave me to know the story and be able to share it with my son and then Brent sharing it with his friends, and the moms I was able to share with them. When I couldn’t sleep I turned to the Psalms in a whole new way! In fact I am still trying to figure out if David wrote a Psalm when Jonathan died, does anyone know? I do want to pray; Thank you Father for using Beth and for bringing her to us in this generation. Thank You Father, she is a vessel for You and Lord bless her family and those who are connected to spreading Your Word in a way we hear. Keep them safe as they travel, keep them healthy, and happy and let the words of their mouth and everythng they do be to Your glory. Open the minds, hearts, and souls of those who are listening and teach them Your Ways Lord so they will also glorify You in their lives. In Jesus Name, Amen

      Beth says:

Oh, my gracious, Yanna. A 17 year old! May Jesus hold your son so tightly through his grief. Thank you for your prayers! I need them so much.

      • Yanna says:

Beth, please rejoice with me, God is working in this age group of young men. Even in his grief Brent is getting it, and the glory that Garrett’s life and understanding of fulfilling Garrett’s purpose, and what is Brent’s is like God’s light is shinning. Women, Brent’s friends, are like moths being drawn to the flame. You would be so happy and want to sit with me before the Lord and thank Him for the all He is doing, through you, through me, through Garrett, through Brent. The thread that God’s Word weaves and then it goes on through us and joins us back again to Him! To God be the glory! Thank you for your reply and prayers never cease for you. I want you and LPM to be blessed so you can keep on blessing and use your time with Him. So long housework and this life I’m with the Lord!!!

        • Yanna says:

Oh I just have to add! I googled “Psalm David wrote after Johnathan’s death” and in the links found Pslm 37. It wasn’t David’s dearest friend dying that he wrote about, it was that evil way Jonathan died. God’s promise in Psalm 37 is wonderful. And then I thought about Psalm 23 is what David thought about death God is with us even as we pass through the valley of the shadow of death! It’s just a shadow, because we see God! And then, best of all David knew to be blameless and obey God death is nothing, because 37:17 the power of the wicked (satan)will be broken. Hallelujah! So I found the Psalms David left us, thank You Father for David. 🙂

You and your ministry are a huge part of the victories I have in Christ Jesus. Now get going and do your thing!

    Dear Beth,

It’s not until May, but I am looking forward to seeing at Grace Church in Eden Prairie, MN. We got us a group of God’s GALS from King of Kings L.C. in Woodbury coming.

Hint: I know you love your Starbucks, but my dear, you must try our homegrown Caribou Coffee when you are in town. There are a number of them right in MSP airport.

    In Honor & Appreciation,

See you in Tacoma with a Venti Latte from our world famous Starbucks. Unless you like a 10 ingredient Venti Latti. My mind can never decide on what fancy ingredients so a plain latte it is for me. May God give you such exciting truths to teach that you walk on stage just busting out with “ON YA”. We are studying your Living Beyond Yourself and just finished the week on JOY. I am sure Joy will be flowing out of you like a river “or rain storm” as we have been having our most wet February ever. See you next week.

What a blessing both of these studies have been to the women in our small group. See you next weekend, looking forward to seeing what message God has brought to you, for us. Ahhhh, my heart did a little flip when I saw this post! Cannot wait for next weekend in Tacoma!

I will be there with three of my dearest friends in the whole wide world! We splurged and got a hotel room, even though we’re locals. We are beside ourselves with anticipation for what the Lord is going to do! He is doing a deep work in all of our hearts right now and each one of us is so excited for (desperate for!) a fresh word from the mouth of the Lord…thank you so much for allowing Him to use your lips.

We have been praying for you and your team for weeks now and for the Spirit of the Lord to fall in power on that Tacoma Dome. We’ve even prayed over the hotel rooms in advance…ours and all of yours.

      • Amanda May says:

Oh Beth, I can’t believe I saw this…I’m so glad!!

The Lord continues to show me little treasures that He gave me as I stepped out of my comfort zone and went to Houston all by myself two years ago (it was a big deal…I don’t even go to movies by myself!). YOU are one of those treasures!
It was such a blessing to meet you and Angie down there…a blessing that I never would have received if I hadn’t stepped out in faith.

I would LOVE to run into you at the Tacoma Dome and at least get a quick hug! If we don’t see each other there, it would be great to meet up another time – Angie and I had high hopes of meeting up again and still haven’t been able to make it happen. So great to hear from you! xoxo

Every year the three of us try to find one of your conferences where we can come and just rest in the Lord and be filled without having to fill others. Thank you so much for creating a place that we can do just that! You are most definitely in our prayers as you prepare for Little Rock and all of your other conferences! Thank you so much for serving the Lord and us!

Lord willing, we will have a group of ladies coming over from Memphis, TN to the Little Rock event!!!

We lived in the Seattle area over 30 years ago where my eldest son was born and we still have special friends who live there…….so that would be a fun trip and I was born and razed in Fresno, CA, but not time for a high-school reunion as of yet……:)

So I guess it will be Little Rock and Houston in January, Lord willing!

Praying that God pours His blessings upon open hearts at each event….AMEN!

Dearest Beth: I so adore a newsy-wordsy post from you. When I pulled up the blog this morning and it said it had been suspended, I nearly had a spell. Thank you for the tweet!

Lame gnats – Hahahahahaha! I am a CPR-defibrillator-Heimelech-maneuver trained woman always on the lookout for someone to “help.” In fact if someone coughs a little loudly in a restaurant, my husband will say…”they are not choking, they are not choking…”

I love your prayer request ~ “Please pray for our hearts to be pure and our egos to be small and for our God to be huge and make His praise glorious.”

YOU GOT IT SISTER!!! I may attempt to sneak away to one of the LPL events this year…

    Much love,
    Your friend GJ

GJ!!! I can’t believe you did that! You stud. Thank you so much. I’m so honored to serve this generation of Siestas with you. You are a huge part of this community. May Jesus keep us so close to Him – so close nothing can touch it.

        • GJ says:

          Beth!
You are so right – it is an honor to serve this generation! (And you and I are of the SAME generation and “age.”) Although you look waaayyy younger…

It was just a copy/paste click of the mouse to get this info, but I printed it out for my prayer journal. I would dearly love to come to Casper, WY in November – that just sounds DIVINE!!! (Or Baltimore in the Fall – I was in Baltimore for the taping of the Patriarchs – what a memory.)

          Much love, GJ

Thanks GJ! I wrote them down in my spiral 🙂
