Ladies! Our SSMT Celebration is right around the corner, and believe me, we know it is on your mind because it is on our minds, too! Like, all the time. Grin.
SO, before we get any further I do want to clarify that this is NOT the post for registration. We are working on that and will have it up very soon (read: hopefully this week!), but we are ironing out a few quirks and we’ll have it up and ready to roll!
However, we didn’t want to leave you hanging and we also want to hear from you!
First and foremost, the date for our SSMT Celebration is official Saturday, January 18th. Yes! We’re mixing things up and going with a one day event, instead of the Friday – Saturday plan. So, as you’re planning, plan to be here for sure from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM that lovely Saturday.
With that said, here are a few questions for you:
1) Are you planning to attend?
2) Have you attended in past or first time?
3) For those that have previously attended, what is your favorite memory to share, especially for those that have yet to attend?
As you’re thinking ahead, just a reminder that Β the actual celebration event is free of charge as your βticketβ is your worn out spiral, but when discussing finances, be sure to consider two things, traveling and lodging. (More travel and hotel information is found in the FAQ page when you register.) We are so excited to have Travis leading worship with us again this year, as well.
Alrighty, y’all. Let’s hear from you! And be checking the blog regularly for registration updates and more details! We love y’all dearly.
Yes I am planning to attend.
I hope the snow will stay out of these East Tennessee mountains so I can make it!
This will be my first time to Houston, Texas!
Yes and yes! My favorite memory was the sound of hundreds of siestas speaking God’s Word back to Him all over the building. What heaven sounds like!
I am planning to attend.
I have attended before both times.
My favorite part was getting my picture with Travis. π
I attended SSMT the very first year. I am planning on attending this year, also. I loved the t-shirt with the Scriptures; that was something I really loved.
Last year, I could not attend in person. I appreciated being able to stream it.
Katy, TX
I am super excited! Yes I am attending! This is my first time EVER! So EXCITED!!!! =)
1. So sad, but unless something changes, I won’t be able to attend. π Me & 3 other friends were planning to go and we were going to share expenses, but 2 dropped out and us remaining 2 can’t quite stretch our finances to make up the difference. Hoping for extra $$ but for right now, it’s no. We’re going to keep doing our memory verses though! π
2. It would’ve been our first time.
1. Praying about attending in January. The one day format plus being a holiday on Monday works well for me.
2. I tried to attend last year but got snowed in up here in WA. Got to see 2 of the 3 Simulcasts-that was a blessing for a very disappointed siesta.
Yes – planning to attend. I attended the last one. My favorite memory was the ‘taking back ground’ activity…I keep that in my office. Also loved listening to Beth recite her teaching text from memory…powerful!
Watching want to know where we can get s copy of your poem of grace.
1. Yes!
2. Yes!
3. We wait upon you, Lord for your name and your renown are the desires of our hearts!
Yes, I will be attending!!
First time.
So excited!!
Interested in attending and read through all these comments without seeing where it’s going to be held….got the date but not the place….anyone help me out here? Thanks!
Sue ~ MI
1. I SO hope to be able to. I’m counting on it!
2. This will be my first.
Hi LP family! The event today was awesome; praying for mama’s recovery!
1) I would certainly like to attend if the Lord provides.
2) No, I’ve not attended before.
Question: any chance some of us single attending gals can find roommates to reduce the hotel charges? Or can you help us connect with other women in our city? That would be wonderful π
sure hope so!
I think I have attended twice
Love, the informal setting with Beth interacting with Amanda and Melissa- they are delightful together and very encouraging Travis is always “awesome”- would Keith ever be brave enough to join Beth on stage for a song or perhaps pray over the Siestas a whole?
Maybe we could submit our current greatest victory graced by the Lord and also our greatest challenge “rubbing us raw” the “raw issues seem too difficult to solve and finding God’s wisdom and confidence in order to move forward. Perhaps there may be a common thread within those of us called to Houston. God may want to address and bring encouragement and direction if there are common threads within those of us called to Houston
If it is ever appropriate and the numbers worked, a few smaller break out sessions might be a real treat- time permitting- for Beth and staff- maybe divide by state or cities if possible with Beth giving nuggets with an opportunity for informal questions and perhaps Beth might receive a “word” God wants to share for a bit of encouragement
This will be a first time~BIBLE&BBQ&BOOTS&BETH!!!
I am so excited..
YES I am planning to be in Houston in January!
I have been to both of the SSMT celebrations.
My favorite memory was the photo opportunity with Beth(still have that as my profile pic on Facebook) Also the question time with Beth and her daughters. Looking forward to great memories this coming January!
1. YES!
2. Missouri (with another Siesta)
3. Been once before and seeing Scripture on the huge wall in all different handwriting was powerful!!
1) Yes, I’m planning to attend.
2) I came to the 1st event, in 2010
3) I loved seeing pairs of women all over the place reciting their Scriptures to one another.
We didn’t have the board to write our favorite verses that year, but that sounds great, too.
1. I am planning on attending.
2. I have never attended before.
Yes, I am coming!! Been saving up!! Cannot wait, this will be my first time!
Liz Nashua, NH
1) Yes, I am planning/hoping to attend!
2) This will be my first SSMT event.
3) n/a
YES plan to attend with my sister Judy. We were at the first 2 and loved meeting other siestas, pictures with Beth, our T-shirt, singing with Travis, and teaching of the word just for us. It was amazing and fun and I can hardly wait for January.

1) Yes, I will be there!
2) I have been to both prior SSMT celebrations; once with my best friend, Jen and once with my sister, Katie!
3) The first year, many of the 300+ women were scattered around the courtyard reciting scripture to one another in pairs or trios. The mingled sound of all those voices was one of the most powerful acts of worship I have ever experienced. It was better than music, and I LOVE worshiping with music.
Good morning ladies!! Greetings from Austin, TX! I want to come, however, i do not know what it is? LOL. I am a huge fan of Beth Moore. Such an inspiration and mentor to my life and training in ministry, so wherever she is, I know its worth it. However, i am more familiar with her bible studies. What is the SSMT?
Hi Shanetra! SSMT is Siesta Scripture Memory Team. All year long, two times a month, the LPM blog readers (that we endearingly call “Siestas”), memorize scripture here on the blog. It is either a scripture Beth shares with us, or one that you pick out. Next January, after memorizing 24 scriptures, we all meet and have a little celebration! I hope that helps! Blessings.
Nevermind. Found it!
1) My mom and I are planning to attend again, Lord willing!
2) We were able to go in 2011.
3) So many great memories, but what sticks out in my head (other than lots of great Tex Mex) is the image of my mom and me scooping some Texas dirt into a ziploc baggie in the parking lot of Houston Christian/BCF on the Sunday morning after the celebration, as a reminder to hold on to the ground we had worked for! (2 John 1:8)
1. I do want to come. Have not decided yet. Will be coming alone, so I am a little hesitant….
2. I have never been before!
1. Am planning on attending. Don’t know how financially or timewise and am trusting the Lord to work it out.
2. Went to the last one in 2012.
3. So much to remember that was a favorite. I was in a dark, dark place and SO needed the refreshment of worshiping with sisters. I also went with a PRECIOUS sister, Joelle, that I really didn’t know very well and have just come to LOVE. I loved seeing the scripture wall.
Would love to come but as a single Mom who would have to come alone with my son I don’t see a way to manage it. Probably need to be there more than any other time in my life. I will keep up with my verses even if I can’t come.
I have never attended before.
Yes, first time
1)Want to attend but not sure yet due to finances. I so appreciated being able to participate on-line the year before last.
2)This would be my first.
1) Hoping to attend with my daughter-in-law who is doing the SSMT with me.
2) I have never been before but very excited to possibly attend!
Thank you!
I do plan to attend and it will be my first time. Will be coming with someone who attended last year and would not allow me to miss it this time.
Yes, if everything works out. One of the cord is moving away π
We’ve been twice.
It feels so personal! We were overjoyed when the host church was wonderfully decorated to present Missions and we came back to our church and reused many of the ideas we saw there! Loved it all!
I am will be there!!
It’s my first time!
Do our verses have to be in the spiral or can the y be in one of our own?
Your verses can be in any spiral you put them in originally!
Thanks Lindsee!!!
1. I so want to come! Oldest daughter getting married 2/1 and my dad just moved in to live with us!
2. Attended the first one!
3. I could write a book on this one – there were so many memories that bless my heart; but was just thinking of meeting my dear Georgia Jan for the first time in Houston. Jan and I had become kindred spirits through our blogs; but had never had the pleasure of meeting face-to-face. Before the worship and teaching started, we were in a group of Siestas and we both saw each others name tag at the same time and squealed like school girls. Hugs and tears of joy followed…
1. Yes, I am planning to attend with my sister. Can’t wait!
2. This will be the first SSMT event we have attended. We participated in the memory verse work two years ago, but did not make it for the celebration. This year we will be there!

1) Are you planning to attend? – YES! With my mom and sister (Shantha Diaz and Pushkala Parekh) – y’all have no idea how big of an answered prayer this is. π Pray for the devil to flee and take any of his tactics with him that may stop the three of us from coming together…
2) Have you attended in past or first time? Attended in 2010!
3) For those that have previously attended, what is your favorite memory to share, especially for those that have yet to attend? I loved seeing the duets or trios sitting in the courtyard reciting their scriptures to each other.
Bless you all for planning this – you will have no idea what kind of impact scripture memorization is having on my broken family…this event will be a reunion of sorts. Really looking forward to it.
God Bless,
Poorna
1. I am planning on attending! Can’t wait!
2. This will be my first one to attend!
Lord willing, I plan to attend.
I have come before.
I love when Mrs. Beth meets us one on one, though I didn’t get to. Hope I can sometime.

2) First Timer
Yes – I am attending and it will be my first time!!!!
Yes! I cannot wait to attend in January.
I missed the 1st SSMT but attended the last one.
I loved the scripture wall, rooming with someone I had never met, and oh, to hear all those beautiful voices overflowing with His Word! Such a special time!

1) Yes! I’m planning to come and bring my adult daughter! I gave her the SSMT spiral for Christmas and told her I’d pay for her to come go with me (I live in Houston and she’s in Phoenix) if she finishes with me. So far, we’re 18 for 18!
2) We’ve never been before!
Yes, my sister and I will attend for the first time. We don’t know exactly what to expect but know it will be a great experience. Both of us love Beth’s bible studies!
Yes, I am planning on attending.
This will be my first time.

1. I do plan to attend
2. Yes I have attended twice before
3. Favorite memory: Just hearing Beth speak from the heart with such enthusiasm for Our Lord and Savior and worshiping with all the women who share the same LOVE for CHRIST.
SO excited! I’ve attended both of the previous celebrations. I just walked into the first one completely alone (and a tad shy — kind of uncharacteristic!). I met two women on my row and we struck up a friendship that has lasted ever since! One lives in another part of my state – Louisiana – and the other is from the wilds of the midwest, but we’ve kept in touch twice monthly via email for scripture memory accountability and we reunited at the second siesta meet-up! Such a fun connection! I so, so enjoyed both events and was so blessed to get to speak (very briefly, but still!) with Beth! Our church has done all of her studies, and go way back to the early (really big hair!) videos and we feel like we are all BFFs! Putting this upcoming one in my calendar and hoping to make it again! Thanks for all your hard work!
My 17 yr. old daughter and I get to attend for the first time!! We just secured our tickets and are beyond excited! I am so glad Beth challenged us to memorize scripture in bite size pieces! This has been such a blessing!
